DD sleeps from 6pm in the evening .. she gets really tired / grumpy so is definately bed time .. best run we've had so far is till 4am (which is 10 hours so pretty good) till she needs a feed then she's back to sleep till 7.30 - 8 normally

I'm not complaining I know its pretty good .. but what do I do about getting her to sleep past 4 .. should I try keeping her up later? or should I just ride it out?

thanks guys

Does she have an afternoon nap? Then you could keep her up later?

When our dd was between 1-6 months if we couldn't keep her awake till her usuall bed time we used to dream-feed her at about 11pm-midnight and it usually saw her through the night (till about six or seven anyway)

Twiglett, I am not sure if this will help but DS seems to want to sleep at approx 5-6pm each night but because that is the time I collect him from the childminder he has to hold out until at least 7 or 8pm. He then gets his bath, feed and then he goes down about 8-9ish. He then usually wakes about 6ish but it does vary depending on various circumstances - do you think she will get mardy if she was made to wait a little?

from my experience you can try all sorts but in the end baby will do what suits baby so go with the flow for now.

DD is 6 months

she does nap during the day (not brilliantly but does do it, but they're beginning to lengthen now) .. and sometimes has a nap around 4.30 or 5 but still come 6pm she's ready for bed (sometimes don't bath her cos she's so tired) .. and yes she starts shouting at me if I dare to not put her down

DS used to nap for 2.5 - 3 hours in the afternoon ... DD will go an hour max ... he never went to bed before 8 either

have tried dream-feeding at midnight .. and then she wakes up at 3 and at 6 which is worse

think I'll just ride it out maybe

Twiglett - my normally good sleeping ds2 has started waking at 4 or 5 am again this last week. A tooth has arrived today so I'm wondering if it's due to cold/teething and he just needs the comfort. I've been feeding him anyway and just going to ride it out, see what happens...

I think you should try and keep her awake till 7pm, perhaps wake her up a little by bathing her at 6pm. And perhaps offer her only water when she wakes at 4am then she will realise it is not worth waking for that! Good luck

I do as yingers74 suggested,,,and also from Gina Ford advice...
Dinner at 5pm (solid), bath at 6pm waking her up a bit...
and then a bottle of milk around 6.30pm

it works pretty well with GR
