12 month old recent sleep problem

My DD has just turned 1 and was sleeping through the night most nights from about 7 months up until 10.5 months. 6 weeks ago she got a cold followed by an ear infection which unsurprisingly led to lots of broken sleep, tears at night, etc. Trouble is she is now better (GP has checked her over again) and is still waking at around 2am and cries and cries and won't go back to sleep for about 2-3 hours. 6 weeks of this has left me exhausted! We are trying Calpol - in case it's teething, milk- in case she's hungry (went off her food for a few weeks before Xmas) and bringing her into bed with us. A combination of all 3 does eventually calm her down and get her off to sleep but there is no quick or easy way to settle her. Anyone got any suggestions cos I don't know how much longer I can cope with this lack of sleep!

Sympathy I went through the same thing with ds2 (10 months) a couple of weeks before christmas. He was just recovering from a bad cold. Tried all the things you have. Eventually he just slept through one night and has done so ever since.

Now wakes at 6am though!

Perhaps she just needs more time. Sounds like she got used to getting up in the night, which is what I think happened to my ds.
