does anyone use the little nightime hats?

My ds is 8mo and haven't had to use the little hats yet. Should they be used in the winter or do they use their head as a temperature release so they don't overheat.
or maybe you can't get bigger hats - they all seem to come with the newborn stuff

Long term advise from most is never cover a baby's head when in the cot as this is his/her best temperature regulator.

i have heard the same as honeybunny, probably should not cover baby's head. If you think your ds is cold, put another blanket on.

What little hats? Did I miss something?

Agree with honeybunny, don't use hats indoors. Especially not in the cot / crib / moses basket / carrycot, SIDS risk rockets.

Motherinferior - the wee willie winkie hats that come with sleep suits.

I used them for sticking on ds' head very quickly to take a photo to send to the doting relative who had sent the darn thing. Then they went to the church jumble sale.

Never came across them. Oh no, I did have one little hat. She wore it to go out. My hopelessness knows no bounds.

I have about 10 of the silly things. All the presies of sleepsuits early on all came with them attached. Maybe I can use them as dusters.

DD who was born 15 May was bought loads of them in newborn/0-3 month size. So obviously they got loads of use (NOT) esp. considering I had several hanging around in the loft from DS.

However it took me loads of searching to find a sun hat that fit for her to wear before we went to Cornwall when she was 6 weeks.
