Mine does this too, though generally sleeps 45 mins. Once in a while does a longer stint. A friend's DD does 20 mins here and there (she's now 7 months).

Yes my baby does this too. I'm lucky if I get 3 short naps of 20-45 mins at a go, and then she will not settle for longer. Very very occasionally she will surprise me by going for longer than an hour. It was driving me mad, and I spent ages doing all sorts of things to try and make it a longer nap, but nothing worked and now I have given in. Of course, when my mum had her this weekend while we went to a wedding, she slept for over an hour at lunchtime, and apparently was happy to lie in her cot for a further 30 mins

My DD has always done this too, such a shock after DD1 slept really well during day. She used to go longer if we picked her up quickly and rocked her back but no more. Recently, its got worse because there is longer gaps between naps, so first two work a little and then by time she needs third its about 5, so a bit late but shes a nightmare until bedtime!!!! WE do get an hour once in a blue moon. She is also a nightmare at night, so not much joy there!!!! I hate having an overtired baby, feel so sorry for her, but cant see anyway round it. Am thinking of doing sleep training at night (shes now nearly 8 months) and wonder if this would help with day, as she might get used to going back to sleep when she rouses.

my dd has been like this since about 4 mo old. She's now 6mo and only sleeps if she is in the car or her pram. She tends to nap as she is feeding but wakes up if I try to put her down in her cot. She does sleep all night though and has done since she was about 10 weeks old, so I suppose it's give and take, but I can't get anything done in the house as she is rolling everywhere and needs constant supervision!
