Sleep

i've just done something that was either really lovely, or really stupid (both, i suspect)

cuddled ds til he went to sleep

he's 2.1yo

last few nights he's been very unsettled - cried a lot at bedtime and naptime

could be to do with imminent arrival of ds2 - or possibly just one of thos random things

anyway, after stories i chatted to him about how he needn't be sad, etc etc and we were having a lovely cuddle (he's not normally a bug cuddler)

and i couldn't bring myself to move

please tell one night won't make a difference and that he won't expect this every night now [pleading]

No it will be fine! How lovely.
Having 2 children is fantastic but you might be be sad for a while about having fewer moments like this. I was.

don;t be soft. I've done it very occasionally (like yours DS is not a big cuddler so rarely an opportunity anyway). It's lovely it's not the start of a trend if you choose not to make it one.

I know ds would expect it if I did it. Having said that, he would also accept things fairly quickly if I said it was a special one off and that maybe we could do it again some time.

when I first got DS he wouldn't let anyone rock him, he wasn;t used to it so he used to push me away. It was a privilege to teach him about the world of cuddling - he hasn't caught up on his cuddle quota yet so its never a bad thing in my eyes.

You know Tutter I strongly suspect you of having HUGE secret lentil weaver tendencies

I think they will all burst out with the birth of your new baby, and you will spend the next four years with a child perched on your nipple, secured by a hemp sling

you may well be right

right now i'm in a weirdy confused limbo land

am lentilly in some ways (quinoa in cupboard, adored bfing, am gagging for another natural birth, cannot bear to be apart from ds) but so not in others (own 4x4, spend lavishly, intro'd cc at 6mo, buy kiddilicious)

as long as the quinoa is in the cupboard where it belongs and you're not trying to makesome poor sod eat it then all is not lost.
