DD IS 23 MONTHS AND BEEN SLEEPING WITH A 4.5 TOG DUVET FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS.

if cold i use a thin sheet as well. she always goes to bed with vest under her PJ's. as it gets warmer what should she have, just vest and duvet perhaps? temp does dip in the night.

my friends toddler has a regular adult 10 tog duvet. is this more like it. i sleep iwith a 9 tog so should my dd have a warmer one too. i am confused

dd (2.7) has a 4.5 duvet and during this recent hot weather has been sleeping in just her sheet (as have I).

my dd started with a 4.5tog duvet when she first went into a big bed at just under the age of 2. During the cold weather she has a 10.5tog one (she is still using the 10.5tog one just now as the weather in Scotland is a bit variable at the moment)

When it is warm she wears a pair of shortie jammies or a nighty - she can kick the covers off if she gets too warm anyway

4.5 is right for a toddler - it's because their bodies are smaller or something, so more air gets trapped underneath the duvet and therefore makes it warmer (I think that's right!).

my ds is 5 and only ever had a 4.5 tog but he does wear a vest with pjs in winter. ATM he is in short PJ's. Ours is only have a 7.5, but the heating is on all night in winter at about 18 degrees, so it doesn't really get that cold
