What do I do? Pulling up in cot.

Help! I've been up the stairs 39 times in the last hour to lay DS back down in his cot after he has pulled to standing and then cries. Am I doing the right thing just to go in, say nothing, lay him down? He's 11 months. He did the same from 5-7am this morning only sleeping in bursts of 10 minutes. Please help, I think I am in for the night from hell. If this is the right thing to do how long/how many days will this take?!

Have just gone through exactly the same thing in the last few weeks. At first I did exactly the same as you, not saying a thing and laying my DD down, but she literally popped up and stood up again immediately! As soon as I knew she could sit herself down on her own, I just let her cry it out (only if not a deparate scream! And not for longer than 10 mins) and she eventually got tired and lay down. I felt very guilty, but it has seemed to work. I also put her mobile up again and this kept her interested enough to look at it and stay on her back, so maybe you could put something new to look at above his cot? My DD is also 11 months, so it is definitely an age thing! Good luck!

Thanks mummymia. He did it twice in his sleep at 9pm, very weird indeed. Then it started for the day at 5.30am and we came up with the idea of pinning him to the cot by tucking a sheet over him! Sort of worked but not fantastically as he went mad trying to get it off! He's now shattered today and I'm dreading his naps!

We've just (she says with fingers firmly crossed) come out of this. I did what you did weegle and eventually she just got better. I don't know how long it took but I do know the number of times I went up the stairs reduced quite dramatically over a few nights! I did put a couple of cloth books in her cot and that seemed to distract her in the morning.

Hope you had a good night.
