How can I reset DS's bowel clock?

DS is just getting over gastroenteritis, during which of course he pooed at all hours of the day and night. Oh the joys of being woken to the sound of a loose motion gushing over the baby monitor (not literally LOL!).

But anyway, now he goes through the day without pooing, but still poos at night. Usually just after I've put him to bed, so that he wakes up and I have to spend about an hour settling him again, and then again some time in the night so that he usually wakes up if not straight away then before morning.

Is there ANY way I can alter this or do I just have to wait and hope it sorts itself out?

If you find a way let me know, as i have one mindee who poos at 9.47 every morning, just as we are about to leave for school, and another who poos at 2.45 every afternoon just as i'm about to leave for school. Every single day without fail they do it1

Have you tried feeding him at different times ? ie. if you currenbtly give main meal at tea - try giving it at lunch ?

Sure I read on here something about doing this ?? Somnething to do with protein meal at lunch - light tea etc ??

I was thinking along the lines of plenty of fresh and dried fruit before lunch, with none after lunch, might persuade him to poo earlier in the day.

He is 12 months. He is full time at nursery and they have a larger meal with protein and a pudding at 11.30 and a lighter meal at 3.30. I'd already been giving him less food nearer the end of the day to minimise the risk of him being sick in the night.

Would agree, plenty of fresh fruit in the morning, but none after say 2ish, this makes my lo poo without fail during the day. I have found kiwi and pineapple particularly good!

All mine wake up poohey. I am sure it wakes them (dts are in nappies) but ds1 takes himself to the toilet, but still wakes every on up calling for us to wipe his bottom.
It is annoying, but I had never thought of swapping meal times round, so might give that a go. Thanks
