6mo waking more often.

DD2 is 6 months. She was an amazing sleeper, despite being EBF, but in the last 3 weeks or so has been waking twice most nights (previously once or not at all). It was 3 times last night! She has a quick feed and goes straight back to sleep.

I know this isn't terrible but I want my great sleeper back, especially as DD1 is going through a night waking phase.

Her napping isn't great at the moment either. Planning to start weaning this week.

Any ideas what might be happening?

It's probably hunger, night wakes often make a reappearance 6-9 months. Calorific need goes up with new motor skills.

Take care to maintain her milk intake when you start weaning. Early weaning foods should be in addition to milk, not instead of. Milk is the most calorie dense food stuff baby can have.

Thanks, I'll get her started today. Fingers crossed it makes a difference. No plans to cut back on BF - that's my downtime!

My son was fab until 6m, then he was waking up for progressively longer periods (up to 2 hours awake when he was around 10m old). It turned around when he was 1 thankfully. Sleep goes up and down, you will soon find out!
