Loong bedtime

I think I'll get criticised here but here goes...

I BF my nearly 9mo to sleep, I don't have a problem with this.

It takes anywhere between 1/1.5/2 hours to get her into bed asleep. Other mums seem to have a 10min feed then bed. My little one won't go to sleep until quite late either 8.30/9pm.

I don't mind so much it works for us sometimes she's asleep a couple of hours but then tonight she was awake after ran hour and it's really difficult to get her back into her cot.

I just moved her into her correct a few weeks ago.

I'm starting to feel like a failure or like I'm doing something wrong especially when I hear of babies sleeping through or doing long stretches. My baby did sleep for long stretches until she turned 5 mo since then it's been a bit up and down

She doesn't have a dummy but increasingly I find myself wondering if I should give her one.

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. I bf my just night 8 month old to sleep. It can take up to a couple of hours and always has since the days of cluster feeding as a newborn. He then wakes every 1-3 hours throughout the night despite such long bf sessions before going to sleep. He rarely goes to sleep before 8.30/9 even if I start feeding him to sleep earlier - some babies do just seem to go to sleep later than others! And frequent night wakes at this age is still normal for a bf baby.

10pm or later for his bedtime is also quite a regular occurrence!

Makes me feel better think it was a crisis of confidence
