CC and toddlers: how long does it take?

DS is just 2, and was until a few months ago a sensational sleeper. Then we had a few nights when he was ill and woke up and asked for cuddles. This has become a habit and on a bad night he will wake 2 or 3 times roaring for cuddles .
He's not ill, not teething, I'm confident about doing it and Will Follow Through.
Just want to know what we're in for, though. Have you done cc with a toddler, how many nights did it take?

we did it - or a version of it for softies - at @16 months with DS who had always been a dreadful sleeper. took 3 nights, and only one was awful.

have heard that its easier when they are a bit older and you can talk to them about what is going to happen beforehand....

good luck

think i should try cc with dd aged 3 she has never been a good sleeper but recently has been getting worse and more often than not ends up in my bed dp works away so is only here weekends and one wk night. last night i was up to her 5 times in one hour! the only thing i worry about is the neighbours - i have one from hell who used to object to her crying as a baby! dont know what to do but i need some sleep!

We actually started last night, mm. Hoping it can't get much worse than that. Twas not fun.
Nulnul, I put notes through my neighbours' doors this morning, apologising for racket, explaining the situation and saying I hoped it wouldn't take too long.

Last night was fine. No interruptions.
We've often had fine nights though, so I don't expect we're out of the woods yet.
We gave him benefit of doubt and a round of applause at breakfast, and he went pink with pleasure, and we've talked all day about his Magnificent Achievement, so you never know.
