Putting down to sleep on front

Ds is almost 7 months, frequent waking, co sleeping, ebf. Doesnt nap alone (on me, pram, sling but not in cot)

I feed to sleep at bedtime and trabsfer to cot with variable success. Have recently discovered that if he wakes when i put him down, he will go straight to sleep if i put him on his front. I have only done this at bedtime til first wake up at 10ish. This is his longest stretch. Wondering whether tobtry it after his 10pm feed.

It worries me though. Is it ok to do? He has put himself on his front before and can roll well.

Our ds who is 7 months sleeps on his front all the time, he seems to like it. Our DD also slept on her front all the time and she was fine.

if he can turn back on his own he should be fine on his front at that age.

My DD slept on her front from birth - it was the only way she'd settle.

From about 5.5 months both DC flipped to their fronts. But they could also roll back if needed.

Do you have a monitor with a sensor mat? I find that helps me feel happier when dd is on her side or front.

Also think about the other risks for SIDS, if front sleeping is the only thing not followed then I would think its ok, if you are smokers etc I would reconsider.

From 5.5 months, I've been putting my ds down on his tummy. He could roll both directions and had excellent head control. Breastfed, shares a room with us, in a grobag and nothing else in cot.

Can he roll from Thmmg to back in the day? Lift his head from side to side when on his tummy? If so and it makes a big difference to sleep then I'd put him down on his tummy.

if he can move his head enough to turn it when on his front, then he is fine. I am guessing at 7 months he can do much more than that!

We t him down like that as we did with our DD, they could both lift their head if needed, both slept with their head to the side though. When we out our Ds down like this he rubs his head on the bed as if to say "ah bed at last, I'm happy now"

He can roll both ways, good head control, gets up on his arms when playing on his front (straight arms i mean).

He wakes often in the night. I might try him back in his cot on his front. I won't have him on his front to co sleep.

My 2 year old has slept on his front since about 6 months of age. We would put him down on his back but he would roll over.

Some babies are tummy sleepers (my term, I've used it for years). DS was, and still is. DGD is, and her mum, DD1, proudly said as such when the bairn was about a week old. She's now 4. DGD, not DD1, obvs.

I have a 5 month old who has always been a front sleeper, from day 3. He had such bad wind he'd scream and scream whenever on his back. I brought an angel care monitor though to help with my worries!!
But ladies who talk about their front sleepers......how did you get your LO's to self sooth??? He sucks his fingers or thumb what sat up but won't when he's lay down. He just gets frustrated when he wakes up, lifts his head and calls for me!

If he can roll I wouldn't worry. My DS was the same, would settle for much longer on his front so started having occasional tummy naps (supervised) from around 3/4 months then night sleep in cot from 5/6. Now he is 10 months he still chooses to sleep on his front after climbing and hurling himself around the cot for about 25 minutes first
