Dd2 is 3 in March. She has always had bouts of not sleeping but for the past seven months, she has been up every night. Typically, she wakes around 1am and will be up until 4.30am ish. We have tried taking her back to bed and she screams a lot. We have also let her in with us but she will pat our heads repeatedly, fling her legs about etc so no sleep for any of us! We have a bedtime routine in place (bath, story etc).
She doesn't settle well in the evening and either me or DH sit just outside the room and repeatedly put her back in bed if she gets out. She often lays there giggling, singing and flinging her legs about. We start the bedtime process off at 7pm and I am often there for at least two hours.
We have tried letting her nap during the day and tried cutting her nap. Without a day nap, she falls asleep quicker in the evening but with both, she still gets up through the night. Finally, she shares a bedroom with DD1 who is 5 and is being disturbed a lot.
Any advice? I feel really broken by this!
