15mo suddenly screaming every bedtime...any advice?

Just that really. My 15mo has gone from generally being pretty good at bedtimd (going down awake and nodding off quickly with no fuss) to screaming when she's put down and bedtime is taking an hour or more. Doesn't seem to make any difference how tired or otherwise she is. She's got a couple of teeth coming through but tonight I gave her nurofen about 30mins before and still she's at it. Any ideas? What should I do?

Ps. Soon as I pick her up she's fine, so not sure it is teeth.

Been going on for a week or so.

We did do a bit of cc when she was about ten months as bedtime had started to take hours (literally) and although it worked brilliantly, I'm keen not to do it again. Unless I really have to.

Hmm tough one. Does she have a comforter toy or similar? She may just need a bit of reassurance and comfort, like a special teddy to cuddle.

my ds was exactly the same around 16 months. for us it was a total separation anxiety, developmental type thing. I just sat with him until he fell asleep, occasionally leaving to 'do one quick job' and then popping back in. around 18months he started letting me leave for longer and then I didn't have to go back at all again eventually. will she settle with you there? maybe just try and ride it out? (sorry, I hate that kind of advice when you're in the midst of things, but I haven't got much else!!)

Thanks both. I think it might be seperation anxiety. For the last few weeks she won't let DH put her to bed either - it has to be me. He tries to do bedtime every other night and she's fine at first but eventually she starts to scream for me. She's always been a little bit of a mummy's girl. I guess I do just ride it out, then. Oh well...hope it's a short phase!

Roofio - no she won't settle with me there. I tend to pop out for a minute or so then come back for a cuddle. After we've had a cuddle she'll point to her bed so I put her down. Then she changes her mind and screams. And repeat!

My DS is 16 months old and has been exactly the same for over a month...I've figured he's either not tired enough (or maybe the light evenings affecting it?) so we either get up and play a bit more and then go back to sleep or I hold him and walkabout his room until he falls asleep on me.
No real words of advice though..

My 19 month old is doing exactly the same. It's been going in for about 6 weeks now. Screams on and off for about half an hour before finally nodding off. We go in and out every couple of minutes, and there's nothing really wrong. It's exhausting and I really hope it's a phase!
