Has anybody used Ewan the sheep and had success with self soothing?

We have them. The DTs are 20 months now and we use them for every sleep. I used them from when they were tiny as a sleep hygiene/sleep cue routine.

We started using during 4 month sleep regression and he's a life saver. Would be a disaster if we forgot to take him on any overnight stays!! We love him, gave us our sanity back!

We used this from birth with dc3, although he wasn't a great sleeper. He always associated Ewan with bedtime so he would always settle quickly (didn't stop him waking up twenty times in the night tho)

Love him. We started using him around 5 months, used him for every sleep and is very easy to take with you if you stay away / went to nursery with her etc. DD still puts him on some nights and she is now 2 1/2.

Ewan is a lifesaver. LO has had him since birth but only took a real interest at around 5 mths. He's 9.5 mths now and has 2 of the snuggle ones and the big one in his cot (but battery dies months ago). Ewan taught my baby to self settle and tbh he's more excited when he sees Ewan than me!

Love Ewan. My 5mo self settles when Ewan is on and is not far from sleeping through with no feeds or wakes!

Love love love my ewan the sheep. We had the fisher price seahorse at first but after a couple of weeks it stopped working and now we use ewan. We only use for bed time at night so dd associates it with bedtime. definitely worth getting

I started later with Ewan. DD is now a somewhat less crap sleeper than before so I'll say Yay Ewan :)

We love Ewan, my 3 year old still uses hers at bedtime. My 7 month old has had his since birth and goes on while he's having his bedtime bottle and for nap times.

Looks like I'm in a minority but I'm not a fan and prefer to use the White Noise App on my phone / tablet (in flight mode).

I don't find Ewan very practical - there are only two volume options and you need to rip open the loud velcro to switch between them. Then there is no possibility to leave it on constantly or set a timer. DD was also freaked out by the light and actually tried to kick him in the head when it was on (at 10 weeks old).

Happily our Ewan broke last night so I'll be returning and not replacing it. Seems to work for the majority though.

We had Ewan from birth and I think sometimes it helped baby to go to sleep. It didn't always guarantee sleep, but in those moments where it was looking like it could go either way, I think it helped. After about 6 months of daily use, two of Ewan's feet stopped playing their sounds - leaving the two sounds that annoyed me most.
We have since bought Tranquil turtle which I prefer. It also has a relaxing light display like being underwater in an aquarium and relaxing wave noises or spa type music. Personally I enjoy the light and music more than Ewan's noise and I think it helps my baby (who is now 9 months) just as much as Ewan ever did. It also plays for 20 mins but the volume is adjustable and the light can be dimmed or turned off.

We had Ewan from birth. I echo the poster who said that it helped when it could go either way. It didn't help when he was screaming his head off!
