I am a first time mum and thought I was so lucky with a little one sleeping through at 3 months old.. Now it's all gone horribly wrong. My daughter won't nap in the day.if she does its for like 20 mins tops she wakes up frequently at night after rolling over and getting stuck I'm exhausted she was such a good little sleeper what happened!!!?? Tips welcome

Yy to the sleep regression.

Can she roll back over too? If so, maybe move her to a full size cot so she has more space to roll aroubd. If not, could you make sort of "wedges" under the bottoms sheet - rolls put down each side of her (under armpit level) that will prevent her from rolling?

Also - infant sleep is infuriatingly fluid. 12-hour-per-night sleepers at five months may be ten-times-a-night wakers by 12 months for no other reason than that's just how it goes.

Those who lead you astray thinking that a baby's sleep follows a steady trajectory of improvement need several good slaps and are probably trying to sell you a book

Some start good sleepers and stay that way. I'd hazard guess and say most don't.

I don't know how long she's been rolling but we had about 2.5 weeks of dreadful horrible sleep when mine learned to roll. I had to keep putting him back on his back and had some success with wedging him but not much. He then just suddenly went back to his previous pattern which was not great but a lot better than the hideous every 30 minutes wakes! So it may be a case of hanging in there and waiting for the phase to pass.

Oh and I fixed the naps (and held onto my sanity) by co-sleeping with him every afternoon after lunch. He can't roll if he's limpet like clamped on a tit and I got a couple of hours sleep too. :)
