1 yr old suddenly back to 2 naps again??!!

My DD was always a nightmare sleeper and mega early riser. We sort of sorted this by changing to just one nap.

So for past 2 months we've done one nap around 12-2 and she started nursery. She was sleeping til 545-6 ish.

Now all of a sudden nursery can't keep her awake and she is back to 2 naps. This has been for the last couple of weeks. At home I just keep her up but they say they simply can't as she just falls asleep or gets too upset.

As a result we are back to waking at 430-5 again!!!

Just wondered if anyone else has had any experience of this?? And if so what did you do?

Thanks!

I just want to clarify:

She sleeps 12pm until 2pm, then the following day wakes in the morning at 6am ish?

Or did you mean she starts her nap between 12-2pm and then wakes up somewhere around 6pm?

12 months is just on the cusp of changing from 2 naps to 1 nap, so there is bound to be a transition period.

Sorry so she was having her nap starting at around 12 and lasting til 1.30 - 2 ish. This happened for about 2 months. So she had fully transitioned to one nap.

At this time she then slept at night from 7pm- 545-6 am ish

But now she is napping at around 930-10 for 90 mins then again in the afternoon for another 90mins.

Now that she is doing this she is back to waking up at 430-5ish.

My nearly 1 yr DS is just dropping his morning nap, currently asleep now and will have an hour. I am trying to get him on lunchtime naps. He will then have a nap at 2.30-4. If i dont let him have a nap in the morning then he has to at 11.30 ish and a sleep at 4. I am trying to be led by him at the moment.

My DD just slept at lunchtime at this age and i am sure in a few weeks this will come for us to. He still wakes up once or twice in the night and i am hoping he will grow out of this too (please).

Can you try putting your LO to bed a bit later at night and see if that helps them sleep longer in the morning?

Its hard as they are difficult if not enough sleep. Having an older DD i am finding our lives are ruled by DSs naps - we are supposed to be at playgroup shortly, doesnt look like that will happen today.

Good luck - remember this to shall pass - i keep repeating this at the 2am feed!
