14 week old bedtime sleep troubles

I'm currently having issues with my 14 week old at bedtime and am hoping someone might have some advice! He has never been a great sleeper but had started going down in his co-sleeper crib about 9ish and sleeping maybe four or five hours before waking. For the last two weeks, he has been screaming and getting totally worked up at bedtime and taking hours to settle fully - sometimes the crying starts before he goes to bed and others, he goes to sleep but wakes screaming suddenly about 20 minutes later. We manage to settle him eventually and then the cycle repeats. Eventually he seems to get so tired, he suddenly falls asleep (and stays that way until next feed) or a few times I have resorted to feeding him to sleep. It's almost as though he gets so fraught and overtired that he then can't sleep (and he's not a great self-settler) but he has no issue with daytime naps and we always try to put him down before he's been up too long to stop him becoming over tired. We have a consistent bedtime routine which we have been following for months. He is totally happy in the day. Any ideas?! We just don't know what's changed! Thanks :)

You mention this problem started 2 weeks ago, so around 12 weeks old.

Are you breastfeeding? 12 weeks marks a growth spurt and it might be that your DSs feeding needs have changed and this is affecting his sleep.
