I have recently bought a new cot bed for my 16 week old . I am unsure however at what level do you put the matress as it have two levels and I assumed the higher level was for babys and the bottom level for older kids , but when I read the insructions it said the bottom level is the safest . so is it ok to put a baby at the bottom level ....confused .....

its fine to put baby on lower setting. Higher setting is for babies who cannot pull themselves up and fall out over the side - only difference with bottom setting is htat you have to bend over more to pick baby up.

not something you have to worry about til they can pull themselves up. we kept ours in the highest position for ages - much easier on the back when lifting in/out.

hth.

put him on the bottom level - does it have a drop side bar? That saves your back!

thanks for the advise girls ...

I put him in it last night he seemed to have starled reflex again as if he was not used to the space and kept waking, I am sure he will get used to it .
