Hello.
More often than not when I put my 6 month old down he grizzles (not crying, just sort of moaning) away until I go in and turn him onto his side. Sometimes this works and he drops off, but sometimes it really annoys him and he gets upset! So I pick him up, give him a cuddle to calm him and unless he's totally asleep when I put him down the grizzling will continue. Putting him straight down on his side doesn't work when he's in this kind of mood as he rolls onto his front and gets worked up about that, even though he does eventually sleep on his tummy now.
Does anyone have any advice on how to teach him how to roll onto his side himself? I'm assuming the grizzling is just due to discomfort, or does anyone else have any ideas about that? I feel that if he's able to get himself comfortable it will help him to settle himself during the night when he wakes up uncomfortable...and also would make putting him down a bit more of a happy thing for him.
Any thoughts / ideas gratefully received. Thank you!
