Hi,
we´ve come to Spain on holiday for a few days with our DD who is a couple of weeks off 1 year old. We had a busy day travelling, she slept for 50mins or so on the plane, and 20 mins in her pushchair late afternoon so she was awake for a long time in the middle of the day. She was very excited and I couldn´t get her to drop off any earlier.
She went to bed fine, in a travel cot in her own room at 6.45, straight to sleep. at 10,.30 she woke up screaming, and this continued until 1.30am. We tried everything, milk, cuddle, sleep in our bed (she just plays) moved the cot into our room. Nothing worked until she just collapsed with exhaustion at 1.30 then was up as usual at 6.30ish. She´s having a (reluctant) nap now which began at 9am as she is extremely tired and grumpy.
Now I can deal with one night, but what do I to stop this from happening again ? Does anyone know why this could have happened? We are obviously not going to have a very nice holiday if we are up all night with a screaming child! Advice from experienced holiday goers with babies. Thanks
