My daughter has been in her own bedroom since Feb (7 months old). Being a brilliant at going off to sleep by herself and sleeping 13 hours a night, I decided to try her out in the toddler bed two weeks ago. She had a cot bed, so I just had to take the sides off to make her new bed. Her bed time routine and sleep pattern have been the same up until last night.
Last night was the first real problem I have had with her getting up. First time, I explained it's bed time, time to sleep etc. Popped her back into bed. Each time she got up, I used less language to communicate with her until I said nothing at all. This continued for about 45 minutes before she fell asleep.
Tonight on the other hand, lasted just over 3 hours!! I used the same technique but it was simply not working. I even resorted to taken her rocking horse and toy box out of her bedroom (she was getting up to play with them). I caved in, and gave her another 6oz of milk but she refused it.
I guess that I'm just frustrated that Ive had 12 good nights in the 'new' bed and now I've had two bad ones.
Any one had a similar experience and what worked out for you? Any advice?
Thanks in advance x
