My little darling is 8 weeks old today and is generally a brilliant sleeper (sorry to those who are up every hour!) He is feeding about every 3hrs through the day which works out that he has a feed between 6-7pm he then goes to bed and is sleeping soundly by 8pm. he will sleep through to about 2am for a feed which is over and done with in about 30 minutes and then sleeps till about 6.30Smile.
I have been told I should wake him at 10pm and feed him to encourage him to sleep through, tried this last night and he still woke at 2am for a full feed even though he took 5ozs at 10, do i persist and wake him at 10 to feed him even if he wakes agin at 2 or is it better to leave him to wake when he is hungary {hmm}?

Congratulations on your newbie, newborns are lovely and snuggly.

I wouldn't wake for a feed and let your lo lead the way. Dream feeds are good but I think they're more useful when babies are older. An 8 week olds tum is still small, it takes however long it takes to empty before your lo will want another feed. Little and often for the time being.

Sounds like you've got a good routine going. I'd follow the lead of your lo

I would never wake a baby to be honest! They're asleep because they need to be - their brains are growing! If they're hungry, don't worry, they'll wake. That sounds great to me for 8 weeks. Still tiny though, and things will change as time goes on, so just go with them. If you wake them when they'd rather be asleep you're going against their natural rhythm.

Never wake a sleeping baby!

He's a bit young for all that stuff. IMO that works once you get to 5mths plus.
