catches on dropside coit broken, dd3 trying to escape, can i use travel cot?

i have a travel cot and proper matress.

its going to be a while before i can get to mothercare to order new catches for the cot, tho am trying to get a cot on freecycle thats been offered, (i will reoffer it once mine is fixed)

don;t see why not. Could you email Mothercare and ask if you can contact their supplier - they gave me the details of Baby Dan for spares for my stairgate and they sent the part within days for a nominal amount.

Can you tie up the sides of the cot so that she can't get them down?

I don't think it would be a problem for a while, especially as you can use a proper mattress. How old is she?

We necer bothered with normal cots or matresses as we were skint when our twins were born. They seemed to be fine.

DD was in her travel cot for at least a month when we were between houses - she never seemed to have any complaints, even though the mattress was very thin!

the drop sides on ds's cot are broken too. i've just tied them up and turned that side to the wall so its not the side he clings to when he stands up, its done 2 kids like that .

misdee, my dd has slept in a travel cot since she was about 4 months olds, she has a lovely proper cot, but refuses to sleep in it at night, so for daytime naps and when i want her out of the way for a bit she goes in the big cot, during the night she sleeps in the travel 1, just to warn you though my dd can escape the travel 1 very easily, iv no idea how she manages it though as its quite deep?
