Coping strategies for lack of sleep

As its not looking like my 12week old DS2 is anywhere near sleeping through the night I was wondering what your coping strategies were for lack of sleep? At the moment I'm muddling through on a combination of caffeine and paracetamol but have some days (like today) when I barely start functioning until around midday. My motivation is all to pot which is really frustrating cos there are so many things I should be doing and more fun things that I would like to be doing. Also, should add that I'm on my own most days as we live abroad and no friends or family nearby so keeping my motivation up is important to me as I can't rely on anyone else to do it for me.

Getting out the house helps, particularly if you can get to baby classes, then you have to be somewhere for a specific time. Caffeine and pain killers help for the headaches and I found you adapt over time and feel less tired.

26 weeks in and still waking multiple times :-(

I second getting out of the house, I found staying in when exhausted but I couldn't nap (ds is a poor napper) torture. Lots of fresh air helps.

Meeting people also helps- classes or just for a walk, coffee etc. I found meeting around lunchtime/middle of the day broke the day up nicely.

Oh, and cake for the 4/5 pm slump!
