First night of gradual retreat and DS 8months did brilliantly. He normally feeds to sleep so I was really anxious about putting him down awake but he was asleep after 25minutes. When he went into his cot he was bobbing around trying to reach his mobile and didn't seem to have any idea it was sleep time. I tried putting his dummy in (next to be targeted for removal!) but he was not interested. He settled when I stroked his face. Am I creating another bad habit with this or is it ok to begin with? Also when he wakes in the night I assume I do the same sitting in the seat waiting for him to fall back asleep?
