Insomnia is grim, you have my full sympathy. I have had it a few times, for months at a time. Paul McKenna's book is ok but I didn't find the CD particularly helpful. What worked for me: - no caffeine in the afternoon (never mind the evening!) -Go to bed late - midnight is fine. Set your alarm for the same time every day, and actually get up then - don't linger in bed afetrwards, no matter what a crap night's sleep you've had. -Eat well and exercise - get some fresh air daily if you can. -Easier said then done I know but: don't get too worked up about it. When you are really exhausted, you WILL sleep - it is physically impossible to stay awake for more than a certain amount of time (without external stimulus). The bout of insomnia will NOT last forever, it's a phase.
