Plus you can give both calpol and ibuprofen
Similar here too. Though fingers crossed touch wood etc the past two nights have been a little better.
I second the ibuprofen recommendation. My health visitor told me it helps with teething as its an anti inflammatory so helps if the gums are a bit swollen as well as general pain relief.
We've had 4 months of DD teething and waking every 1 or 2 hours. And still no teeth yet.
Have you tried Calpofren ie ibuprofen instead/as well? It does seems to work better than Calpol for teething.
Well DD has been awake for 2 hours now (it's 1am) and nothing except holding her is working. The second I put her down she screams
.
Glad that you had a better night. DS woke up just as I got home at around 10.30, so fed him then. He then woke at 4am, quick feed and then back to bed till 7.30, what a luxury! Thinking that calpol before bed is definitely the way forward for the next few days...! DH said he was much quieter during the evening as well. I keep trying to look in his mouth to see if I can see any more teeth, but he's too wriggly!
Last night was better thankfully! DD woke at 11pm. DH went in, administered some pain relief and then she went back to sleep after about 20 minutes apparently. And then she didn't wake again until 6.30am. I don't know if it was the medicine or the fact that DH went instead of me but either way it worked.
Hope everyone else has a better night tonight. I'm in US so we have a few hours until bedtime.
aww - yeah my DD would randomly burst into tears during the night. Poor things. Teething is nasty.
I am currently watching DS in his jumperoo hoping that it will tire him out to sleep better as I'm out this evening, so DH will be on cuddle duty! I think it is teeth as he wakes up sobbing, which he doesn't do normally. Am going to calpol him before bed and give him those teething powders and hope for the best!
I could've written that post, just swapping 'she' for 'he'! He'll be 7 months on Sunday.
Mine's been going 7pm-7am with no feeds for the last month, napping and taking is solids really well.
Last 4 nights have been BAD. Waking constantly, waking at 5.30am and refusing to go back to sleep, which in turn is messing up his daytime naps.
This better be teething, and it better be over quickly!
I think DS is going through the same... (6 1/2 months) we'd had about 4 weeks of brilliant sleep, a few nights he slept through, but was generally just waking for one feed, then sleeping through till 7ish. Since Saturday he's been mega dribbly, rosy cheeked and chewing everything he can get his hands on, and waking up four or five times a night... He is still settling at bedtime pretty well, but he's definitely not sleeping as deeply as normal. I hope this passes quickly...!
Weeks??? I think co-sleeping to get through it might be the only way then.
I think she will be teething - think you will see a wee tooth popping through very soon. I experience the exact same, I felt like we were going back he way progress wise. Not going to lie, it lasted weeks, but now we have two front bottom teeth and touch wood, no more wake ups during the night.
xx
My 7mo DD has been sleeping well for about a month: self settling, only waking once for food & sometimes not at all, napping well.
But the last 3 nights it's all gone wrong. She's still going down awake & going to asleep on her own but then waking a few hours later and then unable to go back to sleep despite feeding, cuddles etc. The first night she woke hourly from 2am. The next she just wouldn't go back to sleep until at 4.30am I took her into bed with me. Last night she woke at 11pm & after 2 hours of trying to help her back to sleep I again took her to bed where it took another hour before she slept.
I've noticed that she's stopped rolling on to her front to sleep which might account for part of it? She doesn't appear to be too hot or cold. Teething? But calpol doesn't make any difference (or teething gel).
I'm wrecked! I really don't want to co-sleep every night. But I don't know what else to do. Anyone have any thoughts?
