8 week jabs affect sleep?

My ds is due to have his first set of jabs tomorrow, and I'm really worried that it's going to upset his system and send his sleep to pot. At the moment, although he doesn't nap much during the day (occasional big nap in moses basket or little naps in sling with me) he tends to sleep through from 7 till his 10 o'clock dream feed and then through till anywhere between 4 and 5 (and very occasionally nearer 6 ). Know I am currently very fortunate and that it will all change when he develops colic / starts teething etc, but am just wondering what others experiences were of these jabs and lo's sleep - and I guess health and wellbeing in general. Any thoughts?

DD was fine with all her jabs, we gave her a dose of calpol with her first ones (on the advice of our HV). She was slighty warm for a few hours, but actually (possibly due to the calpol) had a better night than normal.

Doubt your ds will develop colic now, so maybe you are in luck with the sleep! DD settled into a good night routine pretty early and at 6 months, she is still in it (although I too await teething with trepidation ).

my 2 dd's both slept for HOURS after their jabs (both had them mid morning) and i was so shocked, i kept checking them every 10 mins. they both fell asleep in the pram on way home from drs surgery, i think it might have had something to do with the calpol too. and then they both had a great sleep that night. neither cried when they had it as well, the nurse must have been very good at jabbing

my ds slept loads too after jabs and then slept all night long. In fact it was a turning point. He was always a good sleeper, from 7pm with a top up at 10ish and then through til 4 or 5. When he had his jabs I decided not to do the 10pm feed, and let him sleep til whenever he woke and he went right through til 6 or 7 and continued like that

also, I wondered about how he would be teething but ds is nearly 7 months and I was amazed to discover teeth this morning. He has not complained once! It was a total surprise!

hate to say it but DD was a nightmare after her first set of jabs last week, and thats even after a dose of calpol. Slept for an hour after the injections, and then screamed for a good few hours. She was then unsettled for a couple of nights, but she's slowly improving.

some babies don't react brilliantly, and imho the hvs and docs ought to do more to prepare you for the possibility of it upsetting them a wee bit.

my ds was fine with jabs themsleves, like nailpolish's had a mega-sleep, but very grumpy for a day or two after. I have friends whose children were really quite poorly afterwards and other's who were seemingly oblivious.
