New thread for the premiere of the new film. Hope it's okay grin

Excited for Friday's Graham Norton show!

Going to message my friend about booking tickets for next Friday.

Ooohh! Me likey smile

Yay! (Kermit-the-Frog-style-waving-and-applause)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 01-May-13 22:10:10

Ooooo, very clever title Prey. We need to repost all the ST:ID trailers to make it feel like home.

Anyone else hoping for some Spencer Hart action tomorrow night?

<drools at thought of SuitBatch>

LetUsPrey Wed 01-May-13 22:46:50

Yes, birdsofshore, yes we are. Are you also an admirer of his acting skills and his ability to interpret a role to perfection? grin

Unlike my current grasp of English as my brain is melting from having had to proof read my nephew's dissertation

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 07:01:16

Welcome birds, we are indeed admirers of the acting skills of Mr Cumberbatch. And his hair. And his lips. And his eyes. And his voice. Hhhmmmm, that voice grin

Premiere tonight girlies! Hoping for loads of pictures grin

Ooh - exciting! Looking forward to the pics.... And I was lucky enough to have an actual Cumber-dream last night too! Going to have to record the Graham Norton show tomorrow - dh does not watch chat shows. Mind you, neither do I unless they have BC on them.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 10:44:10

The pictures are starting to appear! Simon Pegg has just tweeted this photo of the cast at Tower Bridge

Frankel: Holy cleavage, Batman! Hubba hubba! (What's up with his hair, though?)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 14:30:05

He's obviously had the straighteners out to get rid of the Sherlock curls!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 18:24:49

Tweeting is underway from the Premiere, apparently it's a long old carpet and BC hasn't been sighted yet!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 19:27:13

Hugh Bonneville tweeted:
@hughbon: OMG OMG OMG Benedict Cumberbatch here in real actual life #startrekworldpremiere #ermagerrrrrd

grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 19:31:18
LetUsPrey Thu 02-May-13 19:34:11

Hopefully by the end of the evening his curls will have rebelled a bit against whatever's he's done to them.

But goodness me he can wear a suit grin

LetUsPrey Thu 02-May-13 19:35:20

Whatever's = whatever

Obviously too overwhelmed to actually type properly

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 20:38:59
LetUsPrey Thu 02-May-13 21:13:25

See, I'm loving the suit and the shoes, and you can't go wrong with that face but ....

for the love of all that is jeff LET THE CURLS RUN FREE

And yes, I know I'm shouting but I've had a shit awful day and I want some CumberCurls dammit

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 02-May-13 21:17:42
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 03-May-13 07:10:41
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 03-May-13 07:12:26

And I'm done <lust>

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 03-May-13 07:17:37

Sorry, I'm a bit link happy this morning!

Red carpet interview

Must check out the interviews when DH isn't lurking about.

Bless Benedict, he looks so tired and pale in a lot of the photos. (No wonder, with his grueling shooting schedule these days.) Makes me want to send him on holiday somewhere warm and sunny (and stuff myself into his handluggage).

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 03-May-13 20:52:56

Don't forget, Graham Norton tonight <excited>

LetUsPrey Fri 03-May-13 21:40:33

I'm torn between watching it when it's actually on, but DH will most likely be with me and I don't know that I can hide the CumberLust.

I'm recording it (obviously) so could watch it in peace later.

Decisions decisions.

Tickets are booked for next Friday to watch Into Darkness at an IMAX cinema. Squeeeeeeeeeeee grin

Confession time: I have a new object of desire, although not on BC level. As if.

LetUsPrey Fri 03-May-13 22:09:48

Decision made for me. DH has put on the Death in Paradise DVD and the ep won't finish until nearly 11.

I will also be downloading it from iplayer on to my iPad. One needs one's alone time.

(I really shouldn't post when I've been drinking)

LetUsPrey Fri 03-May-13 22:59:09

Just put it on.

Just in time to see Not Good Hair and BC hugging people. envy

Prey, you're straying? Hmm....Depends on who it is...

I haven't booked tickets for ST:ID yet because the stupid cinema hasn't decided if/when they will be screening it in English. They are doing a double-feature on Wednesday, but since it's a school night...No sitter, TKO there. And even DH, who by now has figured out my BC obsession, refuses to watch it in German, as even he (DH, that is) realizes that you JUST. DON'T. MESS. WITH. THE. CUMBERVOICE. Don't believe me? Check this out (zap to 2:17) and listen. You don't need to understand the German to hear how BADLY it doesn't fit. Not sexy. Not at all. Aural cold shower. Ick.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1k3Tr2RNPU

Whoever made that casting decision needs to be rounded up and forced to watch Teletubbies for 3 days straight.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 03-May-13 23:18:41

That man will ruin me I wish

LetUsPrey Sat 04-May-13 10:18:01

Anyone fancy wearing Benedict in cuffs

The correct answer is yes please

I subscribe to a design newsletter, and the one that came this evening included this little gem. I am dying. Can you imagine him wearing this during the Palace to Palace fundraiser last year??? Apparently it comes in a tweed AND Burberry variation.

And I might add that I may have hyperventilated a tiny bit when he talked about possibly ever dating a fan.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 05-May-13 11:38:32

Thanks for the new thread, Prey, and welcome, birds!

Can't watch links at the mo as Other People Are Home and will tease me mercilessly. Am alarmed at the premiere hair but realise it's necessary. Good suit, although plain black is a LITTLE severe for a nice spring evening, no?

Haven't watched Graham N. I find chat shows a bit toe-curling – pre-rehearsed anecdotes and watching the guest tie themselves in knots as they throw in an embarrassing unscripted question.

Having said that ...

Is it a good watch? Did he look hawt? grin

LetUsPrey Sun 05-May-13 14:00:42

Just watching it now. Very very hawt, bad hair, very chatty, very intelligent.

Can't take my eyes off his mouth grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 05-May-13 14:09:24

Will watch surreptitiously when I next have the house to myself grin.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 05-May-13 18:33:21
LetUsPrey Sun 05-May-13 19:28:16

A friend at work was looking at May's picture on the Sherlock calendar. She commented that he does have rather nice lips. I could only agree grin

Holy crap, those baby pictures. May I just say, that for someone who just squeezed out an 9 Pound baby, Wanda looks AMAZING. My own second kid was way over 8 lbs. and I had a c-section. I looked...not nearly as good. (and I admit squee-ing over how cute he was as a baby. Good to see that some things never change...)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 06-May-13 16:40:44

Fundraising for a new BC project. They only launched the appeal for funds this morning and are almost halfway there already!

If you donate more than £25 there are various incentives, such as an entry into a draw to attend an after screening party.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 06-May-13 17:23:10

Ha ha ha! Almost as good as the otters!

The truth about BC, according to Simon Pegg grin

LetUsPrey Mon 06-May-13 23:23:54
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 07-May-13 06:58:00

Wow! That project has reached it's goal in less than 24 hours shock

A close friend of mine, who does some work for Jaguar, is going to a promotional event in Italy - in June, I think - to which BC is invited! envy She said she'll send me some photos if he's actually there.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 07-May-13 13:10:07

Very very envy

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 07-May-13 14:52:51

Brace yourselves ladies, it's the CumberBulge

<faints>

Bloody hell, Frankelly!

LetUsPrey Tue 07-May-13 18:19:41

And I shall be seeing that at an IMAX in 3D.

I was going to say I'd have to duck, but I think I'll stay where I'm sitting wink grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 07-May-13 20:23:48

My tickets are booked for Saturday. 3D though, not IMAX.

BC is in New York now to do Premiere stuff and interviews. I'm in New York next week. I was visiting my folks in Bristol the other week, then BC appeared the following week to film Sherlock. I can't catch a break!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 07-May-13 20:34:04

I know it's not BC, but this video with Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy is rather amusing grin

LOL, Prey. "Teabagging the front row", indeed!

Love this interview. He pokes fun at his CumberChins. grin

Loving the smirk.

Any truth to the rumour that he's ditched the cigs? Would far prefer him to chomp on a toothpick, not nearly as smelly!

LetUsPrey Wed 08-May-13 21:34:13

grin GreenCard. Looking forward to Friday!

I can't even comment on this gif

Ha ha, that gif makes it look like he's making sure everything is still all there. But dear Benedict, we here at the BCAS have fearless volunteers who would gladly take over that responsibility for you!!

poppymagnum Thu 09-May-13 22:43:37

Hi ladies. Just come out of he cinema. grin grin grin grin

LetUsPrey Thu 09-May-13 22:53:08

Was it quite good then poppy? Can't wait for tomorrow night!

poppymagnum Thu 09-May-13 22:59:00

Quite good. Bloody brilliant. Won't say too much but oh my!

I get to see ST:ID tomorrow -- Woo!

Another Benedict-then-and-now picture. Would love to blow raspberries on Baby Benedict's tummy. (Must get mind out of the gutter regarding Adult Benedict.)

Just read this from Zoe Saldana's IMDB page:

"I tend to be very picky, so I look for the perfect man! So if Spock and Kirk can mix, they'd become my perfect man. That's the kind of guy I'd go for. I don't only go for muscles, I don't only go for brains. You just need to have a little bit of a bad boy and a geek and then you've got the perfect guy."

Dear god, it's as if she's talking about Benedict. After watching this gif, hey, who knows.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 10-May-13 13:44:30

Apparently the ST:ID page on IMDB is full of spoilers, including the cast list, so avoid avoid if you don't want it ruined.

I love the Zoe Saldana said that BC greeted her every morning with a very English "Hello love".

LetUsPrey Fri 10-May-13 18:37:37

Friend picking me up in an hour to go to see Star Trek! Squeeeeeeeeeeeee grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 10-May-13 22:54:12

How did you get on Prey? In 24 hours time I will have seen it.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 10-May-13 23:26:59

That's an amazing interview.

LetUsPrey Sat 11-May-13 00:12:43

I am back.

It was totally fucking awesome (apols for swears).

A really really amazing film. Stunning. Everyone is brilliant.

BC is stunning. Truly stunning. Fightybatch was everything you expect and more grin

Just got back from the cinema. I totally fucking second Prey's appraisal of the film. Awesome upon awesome. Even sceptical DH loved it. Can I preorder the BluRay right this second?

The ending was wonderful. JJ Abrams may be a pain when it comes to secrecy, but...OK, I won't give anything away, but the ending was awesome. Let's leave it by me saying that my favourite setting on the microwave is now "defrost". Though I seriously doubt I could fit one of those in there. grin

And in other News...

Where is that hand going? And can I tag along?

Fluffymonster Sat 11-May-13 23:42:21

Hello hello!

Just got back from cinema, and thoroughly enjoyed ST:ID here too. Everyone does a decent job, but the stand out performances were Zachary Quinto and of course BC, who basically stole every scene he was in. Couldn't take my eyes off him. Utterly charismatic.

"Let's talk about Bond, shall we?" Hope so BC, certainly hope so...

And that Caitlin Moran interview may just be the best interview I have ever read. Ever.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 12-May-13 08:59:40

Agreed, loved loved loved it. So glad I didn't go in search of any of the spoilers.

BC was epic, as we would expect grin

Saw the trailer for August: Osage County on YouTube the other day, looks a good film but BC only appears for a fleeting moment. I'm not sure how big a part he has in the film. Looks good though.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 12-May-13 15:27:57

Good lord, GreenCard, that hand gif!

On the Times interview, is it just me or is Caitlin Moran's writing a bit pretentious and up herself? BUT: 'Hamlet'? Did she just mention that because Benedict's talked about it before, or is it an inadvertent spoiler?

Loved the Caitlin Moran interview - completely adorable. Looks like I'm not seeing Star Trek until the 22nd. Grr.

Glad to be of Service, LadyClarice!

Looks like someone has been going through their old pictures.... Not digging the buzz-cut, but the rest...yeah, I'd still tap that. grin (Love the "Singing In The Rain" poster behind him in the first one.)

LetUsPrey Tue 14-May-13 07:56:30
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 14-May-13 08:06:59

Seconded grin

There is a thing on Tumblr right now regarding Spock and Kirk. It goes like this:

Spock and Kirk's relationship in a nutshell:

Spock: Don't do the thing.
Kirk: I'M GOING TO DO THE THING.

Just now I saw this:

Every Benedict Cumberbatch interview ever:

Interviewer: Say the thing.
Benedict: No I don't want to say the thing.
Interviewer: Cumberbitches!
Benedict: Bless them.
Interviewer: Now, have you seen "Otters that look like Benedict Cumberbatch"?

(Growls) Am looking at this gif, the second one in particular. I know I'm broadcasting from Fantasyland because I'm feeling a tad protective of Benedict as I watch Karon's (sp?) hand trailing across his back... I know I'm reading way too much into it, send me to bed now. (DS1 woke up with a sore throat at 4:15 this morning and no one got any sleep after that.)

LetUsPrey Tue 14-May-13 22:43:24

Hope DS1 is feeling better and you got some sleep.

And now I'm going to bed grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 15-May-13 08:10:01

Thanks, Prey, he is doing better. I think we narrowly escaped an ear infection as well. (phew)

We knew all this already, but...

LetUsPrey Wed 15-May-13 22:10:52

I love all those reasons!

This is a Setlock photo but I don't think it's particularly spoilery. What I know is that I am we'll and truly done grin

LetUsPrey Wed 15-May-13 23:08:24

Hahahaha I love this video so much grin. Also, hot

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 16-May-13 09:02:13

Bless, he's amusing himself grin

Aaahhh. Just watched Reichenbach. Unbelievably, dh suggested watching a Sherlock episode! I may have moved out of my seat and over to the dvd shelf suspiciously quickly. PSOS... and particularly sharp-suited in the court scene. Yum.

LetUsPrey Sat 18-May-13 00:00:04

So I've been out to a party and I'm fairly drunk.

I have a quick loom at Cumberbuddy on Tumblr (love her) and I am so done

LetUsPrey Sat 18-May-13 00:23:45

Loom = look. Obviously. Fecking vodka.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 18-May-13 02:04:35

I am in New York & have had one too many Lomg Island Iced Teas. That link as finished me off Prey <faints>

Makes me so happy Simon Pegg posted this silly picture!

Beautiful location, beautiful man, but for god's sake, EAT SOMETHING! You're getting too thin!

Ooh. It's like he's the teacher, and you've been naughty, and, and...

I'm so done.

Those cheekbones, those lips, those ... everything actually.
<drools>

LetUsPrey Sun 19-May-13 08:38:55

Never has smoking looked so good!
I'm needing to find stuff to share with all of you!

(6 sleeps till I go and see STID)

Fluffymonster Sun 19-May-13 20:02:08

The global domination continues. grin

Interview/profile from China. Discussion covers ST:ID, but also Sherlock, Hawking, Van Gogh and includes clips.

LetUsPrey Sun 19-May-13 23:11:22

Yes please

I still want the CumberCurls back for a bit

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 20-May-13 03:24:32

umm, I don't know what to say

#huge hands

<faints>

Me. Every morning. Except my hair doesn't look that good.

I'm ^so^ done.

This just made me laugh out loud.

Would appreciate good thoughts, as DS2 is currently a Spew-A-Saurus, and DS1 was also feeling a tad feverish before bed. Yesterday we drove 2 hours to a family function, only to have DS2 (who has been dry for months now) literally blow through three of the four emergency nappies we had with us, and vomit on himself AND me on the way home. Let me tell you, there is nothing like riding home with a bucket of fresh retch on your lap. (I know, at least we had a bucket, yada yada.)

And I think I may have found BC's real Facebook account. And I'm too chicken to submit a friend request. (Not that it would ever be accepted.) It's linked to many of the famous names we know (Adam Ackland, Olivia, Lydia Hearst and Amanda Abbington, among others), so it does look like the real deal. No public posts though.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 21-May-13 09:53:06

Sorry to hear you're dealing with so much illness Greencard. Hope it passes soon.

With the Facebook account, odds are if it is the real deal he won't accept anyone he doesn't actually know in real life.

LetUsPrey Wed 22-May-13 22:31:52

Hope everyone's feeling better GreenCard.

Oh that this was my thigh (for the sake of decency) he was stroking

<resolutely resists any Mrs Slocombe style jokes> grin

Conan O'Brien is my hero. Although, I would have used either Marvin Gaye or the theme from "Shaft"... Definitely something "Bom-chicka-wow-wow"!

(Be sure you're alone when you click here.)

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. DH is now feeling dodgy. At least DS2 has stopped spewing, but we're still being very careful about what he eats. I had no idea how many different ways you can serve up bananas and rusk...

bisley Thu 23-May-13 15:40:59

hey you lot, have you seen this? grin

Fluffymonster Thu 23-May-13 17:00:25

<faints>

<and faints again>

You have no idea how much that has improved my day. grin

So...clearly the scene couldn't have been cut because he wasn't buff enough!

LetUsPrey Thu 23-May-13 18:52:46

Thank you bisley.

I'm trying to think of something witty and appropriate to say but all I can come up with is Fuck. Me.

It's one to bookmark isn't it?

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 23-May-13 19:07:32

<faints>

bisley Thu 23-May-13 19:37:55

Good innit? grin Glad to contribute - I've lurked on here and enjoyed your links for quite a while smile

LetUsPrey Thu 23-May-13 22:44:20

Only just clicked on your link GreenCard

Click, faint, repeat

Just...wow. I'm sure that scene was essential to the plot. DVD extras here we come! wink

bisley Fri 24-May-13 07:27:14

Oops, sorry GreenCard, only just spotted that you got there first. Still, double links to that aren't the end of the world eh?

No worries, ladies. There's a saying in German that more-or-less goes "Double holds better". And in this case.... My stars and garters, those pecs!

And I'm annoyed that over in America you can already pre-order ST:ID. Not in Germany. GRRRR.

Today had better get better. Last night we didn't get to bed til 1 am because we had an aquarium emergency (filter died and poisoned about 2/3 of our fish stock), the alarm went off at 5:45, then in the rush to get out the door, I forgot my keys. DH works 40 mins. away and couldn't leave, so MiL came to the rescue but had to go home first to get the spare. So grateful it was dry (albeit 7°C), and even more grateful that DS2 didn't have a potty emergency. Am taking suggestions as to what bottle of spirits is going to go first tonight. (Talisker is on hand, for the record.)

I think I'm going to watch that clip again.

GIF set of the gods

Cumberbuddy also has a post where "All By Myself" Plays

Dammit. Wasn't finished.

...where "All By Myself" plays while the clip plays.

Now I need a (cold) shower.

LetUsPrey Fri 24-May-13 16:05:05

Vodka probably the way to go Green Card

Can you imagine that scene in 3D on an IMAX screen?

I can.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 24-May-13 20:15:48

BC's Have I Got News For You episode is on Dave Ja Vu right now grin

LetUsPrey Fri 24-May-13 20:53:20

Thanks Frankelly. It's on at midnight on Dave and then 1am on Dave Ja Vu so phew!

I've not watched this yet but it's probably good grin

Also I have pre-ordered Star Trek Into Darkness on bluray.

Finally off to see Into Darkness tonight!!
gringringrin

MrsJohnHarrison - you're going to love it!

My, my, someone has been having fun with this gifset!

Oh, sweet baby Jesus...

If that's true, then I'll bet good money that he's fully functional and has been programmed in multiple techniques. (Sorry, I'm a TNG fan.)

LetUsPrey Sat 25-May-13 16:45:41

Just back from watching Into Darkness again. DS1 wanted to watch it so it was my duty, as a mother, to take him. <selfless>

grin

LetUsPrey Sat 25-May-13 20:01:38

Loved Star Trek. Now... how long until Sherlock? <frets>

LetUsPrey Sun 26-May-13 15:44:05

loved loved loved Star Trek! Especially the parallels with ST:WOK. I cried a little when he talked about his friends.
BC totally kicked ass in it. Going to get the DVD ASAP, just for the deleted scenes mind wink

It's my birthday! Kids off out for the day, DH at work, Sherlock marathon on Alibi! grin
Happy birthday to me!

LetUsPrey Mon 27-May-13 11:46:41

Happy Birthday thanks

Sherlock marathon sounds good. Not happening here as everyone in. I've got The Blind Banker on my iPad from iPlayer so I'm looking forward to watching that on my lunch breaks at work this week grin

I've made a start on my birthday list

Haha Prey grin- do you want that gift-wrapped? Happy birthday MrsJohnHarrison!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 27-May-13 18:19:42

Happy Birthday MrsJH grin

divadee Mon 27-May-13 19:40:03

Good evening everyone, I found you all on google and felt compelled to sign up!

I am not alone in my Crush of BC! I'm a laughing stock in my house as DH and DD can't see the appeal at all.

So hope I can stay here and drool with you all!

Welcome, divadee! Same here. Dh is very indignant that I should have a crush on someone he considers unworthy of admiration (I.e. looks nothing like dh grin ). There are many droolworthy pics posted here by kind souls. Enjoy. The Sherlock ones are my faves...

divadee Mon 27-May-13 19:59:31

Thanks Holmes.

Being going back through this thread and yum yum and drool drool!!!

1) Happy birthday, MrsJohnHarrison!

2) Welcome aboard, divadee!

3) To me, this is part of what makes BC so attractive. Add to that, he's kind, respectful, articulate, likes kids, can take a joke, and freely admits that he can't dress himself (although I'm starting to wonder if he now has a stylist as a flatmate). Oh, and he's bloody gorgeous.

LetUsPrey Mon 27-May-13 22:19:36

Hello divadee grin

Have some PilotBatch. Sherlock in jeans wouldn't have been right but still .....

satsumagirl Mon 27-May-13 23:09:49

Hi Cumberladies. I've been lurking on this thread for a while. Thank you all so much for cheering me up with lovely pics of Benedict whilst doing lots of nightfeeds with my baby girl!

Bizarrely, I actually live in the same area of London as BC but have I ever seen him? No. We're moving soon too so bang go my hopes of clapping eyes on him in the local Spa wink

Doesn't he look young in the Sherlock pilot, bless him. What's his secret? He looks about 12.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 28-May-13 06:59:19

Oooo, newbies! Welcome - the first step is admitting you have a problem grin

divadee Tue 28-May-13 07:15:19

You may joke satsumagirl but this guy actually did get in the sauna with him!!!

http://swashbuckled.wordpress.com/2011/05/16/no-shit-sherlock/

divadee Tue 28-May-13 07:15:49

(swoon, divadee!)

Just a question, since sauna use seems to vary from country to country -- do y'all sauna in the altogether, with a towel wrapped, or (ick), like a lot of Americans do -- with a swimsuit on? Most Germans seem content to sit on their towels, so there's plenty to see. Because...oh hell, you can all see where I'm going with this. (hangs head in shame)

divadee Tue 28-May-13 10:29:27

Well green card from my experience with saunas in the UK we keep our swimming costumes on, so shorts of swimsuit etc...

Continent they let it all hang out esp the Germans and Swedish people.

I have to admit I think it is most likely he was covered up, not only as an English man but also what if someone snapped a piccy of him letting it all hang free in the sauna.

In my opinion that's the best way! Men completely naked is not really that attractive! But in some yummy shorts a girls imagination can run riot!!!! Lol.

divadee Tue 28-May-13 17:34:56

Any new pics around cumberbabes??? I need some cheering up an BC will do just the job! Or if you wanna send him round to cheer me up even better!

LetUsPrey Tue 28-May-13 18:45:31

Hi satsumagirl no going back now grin

Couldn't have put it better myself

divadee Tue 28-May-13 19:18:38

Thank you, divadee! I can tell you that my first experience in a German sauna was...well, it took some getting used to. Back in the US, the only place I knew that had one had people use it wearing their swimsuits. That grosses me out now, thinking of the bacteria growing in those wet, warm suits, whereas here most folks just sit on their towels and enjoy the view, so to speak, but there are a few who are wrapped up in towels. I haven't been since before I got pregnant with DS1, and we've moved since then too. Ah, the days when we had time AND money...

I agree that probably for reasons of blogging that he would cover up. (Still, it's a lovely image, regardless of where that towel may be.) But I do feel badly for him -- I mean, the poor man can't even relax at the sports club without some yahoo writing about it and posting it on the internet. I never cease to be amazed and in awe of how respectfully Benedict handles these people, fully aware of what may come of it. I swear, the next time the OED gets a revision, they should include a photo of Benedict in the entry for "gentleman".

Oh, and you wanted links? Here you go:
Hadn't seen this otter comparison before

Let's face it, this man is still going to be a knock-out when he's 80.

divadee Wed 29-May-13 12:49:29

Thanks for the links greencard.

One thing I do know I wouldn't be able to speak to BC in a sauna. I would quickly scuttle out looking like a beetroot! Sauna and my fair complexion is not a good look and the sweat that pours off me is gross. I struggle to breathe in a sauna lol.

Now in a jacuzzi that's a different fantasy story all together!

satsumagirl Wed 29-May-13 13:15:23

Lawks a mussey me! If I saw BC in the sauna I don't think I could cope. I would fangirl through the steam then explode. Which might be a bit distressing for BC.

divadee Wed 29-May-13 13:28:37

But he obviously likes a sauna satsumagirl and a swim so stalk out your local swimming pool!! Lol.

satsumagirl Wed 29-May-13 15:41:21

lurks behind pot plants at the local leisure centre

divadee Wed 29-May-13 15:49:38

Lol satsumagirl that I would like to see!!!

satsumagirl -- LOL! But yes, must agree, if I ever bumped into him, I would be reduced to a monosyllabic mess. I keep telling myself, I'm too old for this (I'm 40), but then the teenager in me pipes up, saying "But I can't help it!!"

I harbour feeble hope that he will come to my town -- it actually does have a link to Parade's End, which will FINALLY have its German premiere on 7 June. Turns out Ford Madox Ford's grandfather started the local publishing house Aschendorff Verlag (which currently publishes one of the local papers, among other things), and it would be a lovely tie-in, but I realize that that will only be happening in FantasyLand. sad

Good lord, the second gif. How on earth could Adelaide Clemens film that and NOT need a cold shower after?

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 29-May-13 16:48:58

We all like to think we'd be the epitome of sophistication and sex appeal on meeting BC, but odds are we'd be an incoherent, babbling mess grin

divadee Wed 29-May-13 16:56:54

You are so right frankelly! In my dreams I am cool, calm and collected as he is floored my by ahem amazing beauty (lie), then begs me to have a drink with him as I think about it.

The reality is I see him squeak omg its him, hyperventilate and need my asthma inhaler as he looks at me like I'm something he stepped in and walks past.

satsumagirl Wed 29-May-13 17:15:29

Man alive those gifs! Hawt hawt hawt.

How is this man not married with 14 children by now?

divadee Wed 29-May-13 17:19:31

See that is the big question satsumagirl.

Is it cos he's hot but rubbish in bed? Or selfish? Or arrogant and up his own bum? Or is just cos he hasn't met me yet????

LetUsPrey Wed 29-May-13 18:42:47

I think I'd probably swear and then turn into a babbling mess if I met BC unexpectedly. If it was expected, I'd probably skip the swearing and go straight to babbling mess.

He's not married because: a) he's not met me yet (hahahaha); and b) bigamy isn't strictly speaking totally legal in the UK.

Me like

satsumagirl Wed 29-May-13 19:18:17

I reckon it's actually quite hard to have a meaningful relationship as an actor, however lovely and handsome you are, just because of the crazy travel schedule and long hours. In all seriousness I really hope BC meets someone soon as he obviously wants babies bless him

satsumagirl Wed 29-May-13 19:21:00

Oh God I sound like a stalker smile

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 29-May-13 21:23:44

How can a man in a cardigan look so hot??!! It's just not natural!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 30-May-13 17:33:11

I think partly he's single because of what satsumagirl said, and partly because he's having a very nice time putting it about.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 31-May-13 08:12:44

Happy Friday grin

Maybe I'm being naive but I'm not sure he'd be putting it about that much. He's such tabloid fodder at the moment that I'm sure paps would be falling over themselves to photograph him with another woman. Plus if he were, um, "availing himself" of the numerous offers from his fans, someone would have sold a story/posted it on Tumblr by now grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 31-May-13 11:45:28

Nice pic, Frankelly!

I dunno. I don't mean there's a Motley-Crue style rotating-door system of girls every night, and I don't think he's sleeping with groupies/fans. But quotes like 'I've punched above my weight this year' and 'I'm doing all right' (in response to his mum moaning about him not having 'a bird' grin) make me think he's having a good time being single.

And why not? I'm not judging or owt. I'm just really really envious grin

LetUsPrey Fri 31-May-13 16:46:36

I would imagine he's definitely having some fun!

I'd be willing to test his abilities - you know, sacrifice myself for the team <selfless>

This is also a Happy Friday grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 31-May-13 17:46:42

Oh it's pure envy talking, trust me! grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 01-Jun-13 23:14:14

Where are you all??

LetUsPrey Sat 01-Jun-13 23:30:59

I'm here. Been doing stuff in <gasp> Real Life. I'm not sure i like it.

The Other Boleyn Girl was on tonight. I've set it to record but only very late into the film so don't know how much, if any, I'll get. It's a film I've always wanted to watch so it's a Benedict Bonus.

satsumagirl Mon 03-Jun-13 22:18:35

Where is everyone?

LetUsPrey Mon 03-Jun-13 23:11:47

Have some rather amazing and gorgeous photos

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 05-Jun-13 08:13:00

I hope you are all voting in WAYWB's "Best Batch Outfit" poll grin

LetUsPrey Wed 05-Jun-13 18:34:50

Starter For Ten is on BBC4 at 9pm tonight grin

Hi all,

Sorry I've been incommunicado; we had a house guest for a week (but it was lovely!) so screentime was limited. Have been enjoying the links immensely. Can also Report that I successfully infected our house guest with Sherlock-itis (and Cumberbatchitis). Mission accomplished! grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 07-Jun-13 08:13:20

It's Friday, it's sunny, must be time for CumberBum

grin

Frankel, they need to add an image from his ST:ID days. I would pay good money to see those toned cheeks... I mean, ever he said they were toned!

I can't stop looking at the picture! I mean, damn! How's he been hiding that?

<drools>

bisley Sat 08-Jun-13 16:28:57

Um, they don't look like they're, um, fighting, do they? That hand on the thigh, head angled into BC's chest...

Um...

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 08-Jun-13 17:23:42

From Twitter:

@colinsalmon24: Have to say Benedict Cumberbatch was amazing today. Hungry, lean and dangerous. Til next time!” He was simply tremendous!

I'm off to take a cold shower....

divadee Sun 09-Jun-13 19:41:59
LetUsPrey Sun 09-Jun-13 23:19:12

Just can't stop, can he?

And who can blame him?

Gulp! Nice links! Rather improbably, my dc (5 and 7) have become obsessed with Cabin Pressure and have taken to running around with walkie talkies, calling each other Captain Crieff and First Officer Richardson. They also attempt to talk in Douglas' voice and are incessantly playing yellow car. grin

I meant to post this link this morning, but apparently I forgot. If I wasn't such a cheapskate and DH wouldn't notice/take offense I might be talked into the Khan/Sherlock one.

I assume those of you who follow Tumblr have seen it explode with the new Hobbit trailer. Alas, no audible Benedict. I guess we have to wait a little longer for that.

I'll take all of them, please.

And here's some BabyBatch for you.

LetUsPrey Tue 11-Jun-13 22:48:42

That looks amazing! Looking forward to the new Hobbit film smile

LetUsPrey Wed 12-Jun-13 08:03:58

Hobbit trailer

Looks amazing! Can't wait

Oh my god. This thing is the John Harrison of the briny deep.

Have some AngryBatch.

I wish...

Fluffymonster Thu 13-Jun-13 13:24:39

divadee Where is that from?! I can't believe that's really him...is it?? [confused yet intrigued face]

Loving the new Hobbit trailer too.

GreenCard - Omg! That thing is terrifying yet strangely compelling. Very John Harrison. Wondering whether to show dd who is doing a sea/ocean themed project at school (not sure if that's what they had in mind, but it'll be 'different'.grin)

Fluffymonster - Alas, that is Photoshop at its finest. (Not that I'm complaining.) I think the closest we're going to get to BeefcakeBatch are outtakes from the beginning of Frankenstein (loincloth!), the stills from To The Ends Of The Earth when he "showers" on deck in the rain in the altogether, and those lovely scenes from "The Last Enemy".

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 13-Jun-13 20:13:22

According to Twitter they are going to broadcast Frankenstein in cinemas again in October grin

Ooh really Frankelly? I'd love to see it.

LetUsPrey Thu 13-Jun-13 21:11:52

Frankenstein being re-screened? Oh yesssssss! Will get to see him as The Creature at last. I shall permit myself a squeeee.

And to celebrate - PBS Batch

Just came across this article. Am a little put out that they didn't use the John Harrison Legoman in their illustration.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 13-Jun-13 22:16:59

I imagine National Theatre will put updates on their website. So keep an eye out for dates and locations. I got to see CreatureBatch last time, so would like to see FrankensteinBatch this time.

So I guess he's been doing the accidentally-pointing-with-his-middle-finger thing for quite a while now.

And this just made me spew coffee all over the keyboard.

And this...I don't want to disrespect the art - the art is amazing. But I hated his hair this way. Why? I finally realized what it reminded me of. Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Now there's a mental cold shower for you.

LetUsPrey Fri 14-Jun-13 21:12:55

That Smaug thing is brilliant!

I think these are worth repeating. The top two of the last four .... I'll be in my bunk

Simply beautiful

Makes me wonder if he got a pedicure right before

I love watching his face in this one when the model suddenly stops to untie his dressing gown. For a split-second he falls out of character - love!

LetUsPrey Mon 17-Jun-13 21:54:19

Anybody out there? This is just rather lovely <understatement>

Fluffymonster Tue 18-Jun-13 14:12:49

Such cheekbones!

LetUsPrey Wed 19-Jun-13 18:48:21
satsumagirl Wed 19-Jun-13 20:18:30

OMG those Athens photos! BC looks so tanned and relaxed and extremely... SEXY. He has either had a) a well deserved little holiday in Greece- sun, beach, tavernas etc or b) a new lady in his life. Anyhoo, tis good to see him having a break after all his hard work of late. To recap: mega fwwwwwwwwwoarrrrrrrgh. I need a cold shower now hmm

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 19-Jun-13 21:46:34

Voice of dissent but I think he looks tired and jaded in the Greece photos ...

Sorry!

LetUsPrey Wed 19-Jun-13 22:06:11

See, I'm in the middle with the Greece ones. In some I've seen he looks phwoaarrr, but in others he does look tired.

How do we all feel about these then? grin

I think he needs to sack his make-up person. I disagree with Cumberbuddy - it looks like he IS wearing blush, if you ask me.

Still a beautiful man. As a good friend once said, I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating cookies.

But what I wouldn't give for some GingerBatch. On my doorstep. With tickets to somewhere exotic in hand. (sigh)

LetUsPrey Wed 19-Jun-13 23:40:57

The hands, the fingers. They will be my undoing (I wish) grin

For those of you on Facebook, click on the Mumsnet page. There is currently a "someecard" picture that reads "If you love someone, let them sleep."

I totally thought of ST:ID, I am pathetic.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 22-Jun-13 11:13:20

Hello all.sorry for absence, you slipped off my Threads I'm On blush

LetUsPrey Sat 22-Jun-13 13:43:05

Just to keep the thread near the top of all our Threads I'm On, I like to imagine this is how Benedict's hair looks after a damn good shag grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 22-Jun-13 23:44:54

For some reason the phrase 'sex hair' in that blog is making me giggle.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 22-Jun-13 23:54:19

Lady Clarice, strangely my giggle in response to the Epic Sex Hair sounds more like heavy breathing.

LetUsPrey Sun 23-Jun-13 22:48:23

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 25-Jun-13 08:14:43

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 28-Jun-13 08:40:21

Sorry for a me me me post, but I just had to share with my BCAS buddies - after 3 long hard years of TTC our first child, I've found out this morning I am pregnant grin

To say I am over the moon would be an understatement!

That's WONDERFUL news, Frankel!! Congratulations! Best news I've heard all week!

Fluffymonster Fri 28-Jun-13 12:48:29

Ah how wonderful Fankel!! Many many congratulations - I'd raise a wine, but in your condition have one of these flowers instead!

Fluffymonster Fri 28-Jun-13 12:49:35

Oops missed an r grin

Huge congratulations Frankelly! Xxgrin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 28-Jun-13 15:30:07

Thanks all grin

Wow frankelly! Many congrats.

LetUsPrey Fri 28-Jun-13 17:18:42

Oh Frankelly what fantastically amazing news! I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I really really am.

I wish you all the very very best with your pregnancy smile

And to finish I must of course squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for you!

satsumagirl Fri 28-Jun-13 19:56:02

Huge congrats Frankelly! How fabulous grin When are you due?

What can I say- clearly all the lovely pics of BC on this thread must be some kind of fertility charm wink

Hurray!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 28-Jun-13 20:46:22

It's very early days, I've only just found out - I'm about 4.5 weeks so due early March.

I wonder if you could get Benedict to Tweet a birth announcement when the time comes...(because then we would ALL wither with jealousy!)

satsumagirl Fri 28-Jun-13 23:48:58

Fab stuff Frankelly! March will be here very soon grin

Mark your calendars, ladies!

Hadn't seen this one before. I could swear it looks like a still from Fawlty Towers...

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 29-Jun-13 23:07:47

Thanks for the GlastonburyBatches.

I would love to have been at Glastonbury with him

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 01-Jul-13 21:40:43

I have to say I don't think I'd go to Glastonbury and sleep in a tent even for Benedict.

THAT'S how much I hate camping. grin

Although if it was one of those ultra-luxe yurt-type things with bedrooms and an ensuite, obviously that'd be different.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 01-Jul-13 22:10:36

Oh I'm all about the glamping, that's for sure. I don't do roughing it dahhhling wink

satsumagirl Mon 01-Jul-13 22:15:38

Amen to the anti-camping sentiment. High 5 my non- camping (namping?) sistahs.

Glastonbury Batch is really cute. He looks relaxed and as if he's loving the music but also.....HOT. Do he got a booty? He do grin

LetUsPrey Mon 01-Jul-13 22:25:51

Generally I've had my fill of camping from my childhood but I would camp in an actual tent with him. I mean, obviously I'd prefer the full on luxury yurt thingy it I'd do the basic tent if that's what was an offer.

Would have been awesome to watch Mumford and Sons with him grin

satsumagirl Mon 01-Jul-13 22:44:08

Prey- ace call re Mumford and Sons.

I'd have taken him to see Alt-J's set. Love them grin And maybe Chic for a bit of disco fever.

All this is making me v nostalgic for life pre-DCs. When I was in my 20s I could tear up a dance floor. Nowadays I always look like a dancing mum wink I am on track to embarrass my 2 when they hit the teenage years!

LetUsPrey Tue 02-Jul-13 19:13:48

I saw Mumford and Sons last December and they were amazing. Best gig I've been to. Love Alt-J too. In fact I'd have loved to see so much of Glastonbury with him and to see his reaction to the various bands. "So, what do you think of Frightened Rabbit then Benedict?" grin

Here's FrankensteinBatch back in cinemas this October. Can't wait!

I love camping! I'm a recent convert - had never slept in a tent until I was 38. Proper campsites though - would never camp at a festival.

LetUsPrey Wed 03-Jul-13 22:10:40

Remember OlympicBatch? Sigh.

satsumagirl I already embarrass my 6 yo. And he does his best to embarrass me. Right now, he walks around yelling "Heeeeey, hexa raydie" (his interpretation, and god knows I'm not going to correct him) and whatever comes after that in "Gangnam Style". He was also into singing "We Will Rock You" (the rap part) -- I was so grateful he didn't launch into "Fat Bottom Girls"...

DH and DC are all lobbying to go camping. I last went camping in 1984. There is a good reason for this.

Back to the topic. Neck porn

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 04-Jul-13 12:42:13

Thanks for the neck porn, GreenCard, but I have to say it was those hands that made my day! <<slurp>>

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 04-Jul-13 13:25:33

Whilst I love the neck and the hands, it's the lips that do it for me every time - that Cupid's bow = biteable grin

LetUsPrey Thu 04-Jul-13 23:15:32

Such is my lust admiration for BC, I am willing to tolerate Clarkson to watch him. I feel there should be an award for this.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 05-Jul-13 06:30:03

Excellent news!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 05-Jul-13 11:01:14

I actually can't allow Clarkson on my TV even for Benedict. Sorry. I just can't. He's just about the world's biggest tosser.

Am sad to be missing out though.

Hmmm... can I face a) Clarkson and b) dh's derision at my being willing to watch even Top Gear if BC is on it. Tricky...

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 05-Jul-13 15:23:24

Watch it secretly on iPlayer afterwards. wink

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 05-Jul-13 15:23:48

That only helps with b), obviously, not with the Clarkson Problem.

Prey - as an award I suggest the teapot and milk jug set I saw today. The teapot has "Gin" printed on it and the jug "Tonic".

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Fri 05-Jul-13 19:37:34

LetUsPrey Fri 05-Jul-13 21:08:15

Not any more it isn't. Tennis is on and Sherlock's on next week.

I'm going to download Top Gear on to my iPad and watch at leisure. Maybe a small screen will tone down the tosseriness that is Clarkson, although I doubt it.

LadyClarice - yes, I think that may well be the answer! I shall have to just grin and bear Clarkson <shudder>.

Weird!

LetUsPrey Mon 15-Jul-13 18:30:43

Watched it at work at lunchtime. Difficult not to draw attention to yourself when you gasp very loudly because Benedict Cumberbatch has just said he likes to be the dominant one.

And he was stubbly too. <sigh>

LetUsPrey Mon 15-Jul-13 18:49:25

Top Gear behind the scenes. WaffleBatch grin and the bit where he takes the helmet off at the end? Thud.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 15-Jul-13 18:58:08

Thanks or the link Prey, definite "thud" grin

LetUsPrey Mon 15-Jul-13 21:45:34

Holy moly. From the tips of his fingers to the tips of his toes grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 16-Jul-13 08:14:45

That show was proof that he is the ultimate lovely human being. I almost died when I read about the presenter's gaffe about what he used to do when watching BC's mum. I mean, EWWWWW. Not something I would have handled well, but Benedict was so classy. Love him.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 17-Jul-13 13:35:03

Can't link as I'm on my phone, but the Daily Fail have a BC article with lots of pictures from The Fifth Estate.

AssangeBatch is back!

You mean this one?

LetUsPrey Fri 19-Jul-13 07:33:23

Heard James Rhodes on Radio 4's Midweek programme on Wednesday. He sounded interesting and witty. They spoke about his programmes he's done for Channel 4 which sound fascinating.

Just watched that clip, Frankel. Sassy bastard. (But those arms!!)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 20-Jul-13 09:48:26

Ok, so now's a time to make a confession. I've had a rough few days, on Wednesday I started bleeding and was terrified I was having a miscarriage. Thankfully I got a scan yesterday which showed everything was fine and we saw a heartbeat <melts>

On Wednesday night I could hardly sleep, but when I did I had an incredibly vivid dream. I can't remember the whole thing, but what does stick in my mind was BC appearing, taking me by the hand and asking if we could lose my friends so we could head back to his flat grin. He then kissed me grin grin grin You know those dreams when you can smell someone and feel them holding you? God my brain knows how to cheer me up!

Now, how to restart that dream again....

LetUsPrey Sat 20-Jul-13 10:22:11

Oh Frankelly boo to bleeding frightening you but hurrah for scan and baby heartbeat!

A colleague's wife had bleeding throughout the early stages of her pregnancy with their DS1. I remember it being a very scary time for them. He's just finished primary school smile

Would this help do you think? grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 20-Jul-13 10:44:59

Oh I think that helps Prey wink. Hmmm, looks quick to remove too......

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 20-Jul-13 12:33:05

I'm glad you're OK, Frankelly! And what a wonderful dream to cheer you up! envy

Glad to hear that everything's OK, Frankelly! (And very jealous of that dream!!)

I won't get too much into how crappy the past two weeks have been; suffice it to say the horsemen of the apolcalypse need to stay the f* away from the cloning machine, I've had enough already. Between two big household appliances dying, DS1's report card from school and the creche taking liberties with DS2 ("diagnosing" him with behavioural problems which I honestly don't see as problematic because he just turned 4 -- and neither does his paediatrician, thankyouverymuch) but then f***ing up basic stuff like "getting all the kids to hang up their jackets and put their shoes away" and having "piggy meals" where the kids wear smocks and eat spaghetti with their hands [thankfully this only happens once a year, but since they don't practice eating with knives and forks there, DS2 eats at home on those days]... I must stop. We are flying to Boston for a month in about a week and I am SOOOO looking forward to a big, fat frozen strawberry margarita or five, I can hardly stand it.

One of the few highlights has been BC being so delightfully dorky. This gifset finally put a smile on my face.

Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 24-Jul-13 15:02:32

I'm glad that's helped, GreenCard grin

LetUsPrey Thu 25-Jul-13 08:20:09

Brilliant!

Just when you thought he couldn't get any more adorable

<ignores bikini clad model sat next to him>

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 25-Jul-13 16:31:06

I like your new name, Frankel!

That poor model; she seems to have no left leg grin

I have to say I'm not terribly comfortable with those shots from above of the wedding. It's a bit like when the press send in helicopters to sleb weddings on people's private estates and things.

Benedict does look good in that wedding suit though ...

Yes, but her hand is on his thigh envy

I agree the photos do look a little "papped", but the story is nice.

(Though Ben de Lisi looks like a piece of old leather!)

Allthingspretty Thu 25-Jul-13 18:17:08

I was at the gym when.I heard a Jaguar commercial by none other than BC I believe. I thought you lot would appreciate the knowledge.

Frankel, I felt the envy too! (And mentally yelled, 'She's too young for you! Try me!' except I haven't looked that good in a bikini, since, well, never.)

Hadn't seen this one before.
Wish I could get me some of these at the airport on Monday! Would never spend them, though.
Especially for *Prey*, some thigh-rubbing!
I just can't.

LetUsPrey Fri 26-Jul-13 21:34:33

Oh the thigh rubbing <phew>

Thud

Ha ha ha at the hairdresser shot!

LetUsPrey Sat 27-Jul-13 14:47:48
LetUsPrey Sat 27-Jul-13 21:44:06

And from the past to the future

Squeeee grin

Ah OlympicBatch. I remember nearly spitting my tea out when he appeared as I settled down to watch the Opening Ceremony.

Hurrah for Sherlock 3 getting closer!

In that new Sherlock S3 pic, he looks like Andrew McCarthy around the time he did "St. Elmo' s Fire"...

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 29-Jul-13 11:27:39

Had weird dream last night where I went to New York for a wedding and Benedict was one of the other guests. He and I had a lovely time pre-wedding hanging out.

I needed to buy a dress for the event and for some reason was depending on another guest to drive me to the shops. She kept saying there were no shopping centres in Manhattan hmm and we'd have to go somewhere miles away when she had time. Time was ticking and I was getting very anxious, largely because I wanted an amazing new dress so I could pitch up at the wedding and impress Benedict grin.

The funny thing is, it rang v true because, IRL when deciding what to wear, my mantra is 'imagine Benedict will be there'. grin

I need to adopt that mantra, LadyClarice! (shuffles off in old t-shirt and ratty jeans)

In other news, we made it to Boston with little ado, except perhaps that the FARKING plane did not have in-seat entertainment, which prompted loud and frequent complaints from DS1. And "The Croods" and "Stand Up Guys" wasn't exactly the best choices for DS2.... (Thank god for MP3-ready phones and portable DVD players...) Eight hours later, we did a little Magic Roundabout jig around the skies of metro Boston for 15 minutes, as it turns out they were avoiding thunderstorms (but neglected to tell us so, letting us instead think we had Martin Crieff and Douglas Richardson in the drivers' seats...)

Sounds like the perfect mantra Clarice grin

Sorry about the plane debacle GreenCard, that doesn't sound like much fun.

I take it you've all heard about the Series 3 villain

LetUsPrey Tue 30-Jul-13 08:33:32

What an excellent idea LadyClarice!

Eight hours on a plane with two children and limited entertainment? I feel your pain GreenCard

And yes to having seen one of the villains. It's building the excitement nicely. Went to watch a Globe production The Taming of the Shrew last night at the cinema. The actor playing Petruchio looked familiar. Looked him up when I got home. He played Major Barrymore in The Hounds of Baskerville. The play was excellent.

And finally just about sums him up really grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 30-Jul-13 09:43:08

<<round of applause>>

that's for GreenCard, for use of the word 'farking' grin

LetUsPrey Tue 30-Jul-13 20:35:06

I know Frankel is quite partial to a bit of SuitBatch

Quite warm in here isn't it?

Hmmmm, if I wasn't so knackered........ wink

I, um, er <faints>

LetUsPrey Wed 31-Jul-13 15:06:12

I do enjoy the links grin

Sherlock stuff squeeeeeeee

LetUsPrey Thu 01-Aug-13 15:43:59

Various tweets today seem to indicate that we may get a preview of Series 3 after tonight's Reichenbach Fall repeat. Keep your eyes peeled!

I've just noticed that Andrew Scott is in the running (with the bookmakers at least) to be the next Doctor grin

LetUsPrey Fri 02-Aug-13 22:16:13

Oooo Andrew Scott as the Doctor! I could live with that grin

Watched Sherlock tonight. The trailer thing after was very squeeeee grin

This blog is very good I think. Only partway through it.

Loved the trailer, though what on earth did Martin Freeman have on his face?! wink

LetUsPrey Sat 03-Aug-13 09:13:36

This is perfectly put.

Also, the trailer is apparently a teaser and contains no actual footage from series three. Part of me is "noooo, that's not fair" and another part of me is "thank goodness for that, no spoilers" grin

Mark Gatiss has just tweeted:

@Markgatiss: By the way, no idea where this 'specially shot footage' idea has come from. Everything in the teaser is from Series 3! #Sherlock

LetUsPrey Sat 03-Aug-13 12:38:46

In that case squeeeeeeeeeeeee grin

Also why would you not?

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 03-Aug-13 13:36:53

Oooooh, that's a lovely photo! Haven't seen the teaser yet. Will watch when I take a break. What a treat!

Jesus God, the fingers in the second one.

LetUsPrey Mon 05-Aug-13 08:14:23

<fans self>

Watched some of the piano night programmes on More4 yesterday (recorded). The little bits in between the programmes with James Rhodes talking to various people were also interesting. Naturally, the one with Benedict was the best one grin. This bit was so lovely!

Watched James Rhodes in a couple of other things too in the last week or so. I rather like him.

Allthingspretty Tue 06-Aug-13 10:04:31

More BC news. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=107401

You can take the DC!

LetUsPrey Tue 06-Aug-13 20:46:05

Smile and wave indeed!

Holy crap

Saw these in a catalog here and was instantly reminded of Caitlin Moran's article about BC.

In other news, I was able to find not only hedgehog fabric, but OTTER fabric. This Sherlock quilt may come together after all...

LetUsPrey Thu 08-Aug-13 23:20:08

I know it's been posted before but I've just been watching the video again of Martin and Benedict's message to Comic-Con. Makes me grin

LetUsPrey Fri 09-Aug-13 14:10:18

I think that's one of my favourite photos of him. <imagination runs wild> grin

Japan's been very good to us recently with these photoshoots. The top right one of the little group of four is particularly hfgghfhfhfh grin

The Japanese are a good source that's for sure, though they've always struck me as a bit obsessive. I remember reading Take That interviews back in the day and one of them said fans were turning up at concerts with cheese for him, just because he said in an interview that he liked cheese!

Missed you smile been away all week with no Internet shock
Catching up on links now grin

LetUsPrey Mon 12-Aug-13 18:44:04

This is just <faint>

Wow shock <faints>

Steady yourself ladies, I give you the photo of Benedict taken by Annnie Leibowitz for Vogue

The man is a freakin oil painting grin

LetUsPrey Tue 13-Aug-13 18:15:55

I'm going to save that one. For science.

LetUsPrey Tue 13-Aug-13 19:47:14

A little bit of obsessive googling scientific research found this. I recommend you're alone and sitting down before you click on the link grin

Oh. My. God. There is no other word but "perfection".

satsumagirl Tue 13-Aug-13 22:36:28

Christ in a camper van ladies. That Vogue photo is smoking hot opens window

satsumagirl Tue 13-Aug-13 22:37:52

How is this man still single and sans children? HOW?

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 14-Aug-13 09:03:22

Hands up who wants a voicemail message from Benedict now and the rest

LetUsPrey Wed 14-Aug-13 18:30:17

That's a very chilled "it's Sunday afternoon, lets go back to bed" look grin

Have you heard the new Mel C/Matt Cardle song? Every time I hear these lyrics I find myself thinking of BC:

My door is open
Come on over, the night is still young
I wanna get over your body
Take you under, come undone

grin and possibly blush for the overshare.

poppymagnum Thu 15-Aug-13 19:48:17

Evening ladies. I am a BC thread lurker but thought I'd share. I am in BC heaven tonight. DH and the DCs havre gone on hols a day ahead of me as I am working tomorrow.

I have popcorn and the Sherlock box set. That voice wink

Welcome poppy, we're always pleased to have more converts about the place grin

You are welcome to share your favourite BC pictures/videos for our perving perusal wink

satsumagirl Sun 18-Aug-13 09:40:50

Where are you all? Possibly everyone is still recovering from the extreme hotness of The Vogue Photos wink

Hello ladies, I am in the middle of my annual trip to the Homeland, and just came back from a five-day trip to the Land of No Reliable WiFi (a.k.a. northern New Hampshire). So far, it's been lovely, but rather hard to ogle BC, as DH and DC are around 24/7.

Came back to find this. LOVE him.

LetUsPrey Sun 18-Aug-13 14:20:45

<clicks on Vogue links again>

Hmmm ... What ... Did someone say something?

LetUsPrey Tue 20-Aug-13 08:57:35

Fifth Estate poster. Not sure what the release date is for the UK though.

Hey, Prey, it's your birthday? Hope you're having a great day!

Sorry Prey, I totally missed that it was your birthday. Hope you had a lovely time grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 21-Aug-13 09:49:21

Yes, happy birthday, Prey!

Re US Vogue article, three things:

- In the list of blessings, he names the first three and the fifth but what's the fourth?!?

- In that photo in the woolly polo-neck they've TOTALLY superimposed his head. Bad bad bad look.

- Alice Eve is his 'costar' and 'friend' but does anyone remember the post on here recently where someone said they used to be fuckbuddies? envy

Love the first pic. Some of the comments on the site I read the article on say his eyes have been Photoshopped to look bluer, but I think they look quite natural, no?

LetUsPrey Thu 22-Aug-13 08:49:27

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm never shy about telling people it's my birthday. As a late present to myself, I printed out the Vogue picture and stuck it on my filing trays on my desk grin

LetUsPrey Sat 24-Aug-13 08:25:37

Right, I'm going to be <gasp> without proper Internet connection on and off for a week. Keep on with the links BCers grin

Just got back from New Jersey (unofficial nickname: The Tollbooth State) and was finally able to get on Tumblr for the first time in four days...

Found this
and this
and this, which makes me giggle uncontrollably.

And then I found this, which reminds me of that scene in "Out of Africa", and then my imagination just gets off and running.

I'll be in my bunk. Only one full day of hols left in the homeland and then we're flying back to Yurp!

Nice set of links GreenCard grin

Happy trip back!

Back home again, yippie! Kids are stapled to their mattresses, they will probably wake around 3 or 4...

Went for Chinese food for lunch before the flight, and they had those paper placemats with the zodiac animals. 1976 was a year of the Dragon (ooh! Smaug!)...and apparently Dragons are well suited to Rats, preferably marrying one later in life. My birth year, 1972, was a year of the Rat... (Yes, I did have a connecting flight through FantasyLand.) And I had to think of Cabin Pressure a lot today, starting with that little eponymous doohickey on the inside of the plane door, then someone was talking about drag and thrust, and then the main attendant looked like Stephanie Cole.

I'm hoping we get some new pics soon. BC has lots of film festival appearances lined up apparently, not a surprise considering he's got at least 4 films due out before the end of the year!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 29-Aug-13 09:58:30

I think there'll be loads of red carpet stuff, yes. The Observer had an 'upcoming cultural things' feature last weekend and it had a Benedict section smile, including Slave, Osage County, the Assange film and Sherlock. [happy happy joy joy]

Reposting the CumberCalendar for the next three months.

poppymagnum Sun 01-Sep-13 21:10:20

Heads up ladies. According to the bbc media centre BC is on bbc4extra at 6.30 tomorrow evening reading a Kafka novel. Can't link on phone but go to bbc media centre and search for Sherlock. It is atvthe bottom of the list.

Thanks Poppy smile

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 02-Sep-13 09:44:25

Thanks poppy. I've just looked for it and it's a four-parter: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007d9kj

Thanks Frankel, as well, for the drama trailer! Sherlock aside, I think it all looks quite exciting. SO pleased that Ripper Street is back.

LetUsPrey Mon 02-Sep-13 20:35:15

Metamorphosis is available as a free (almost positive it's free) download from iTunes. If you search Benedict Cumberbatch on iTunes, it brings up details of it as four podcasts. I've had them for quite a while but never got round to listening blush

That BBC trailer does look really good. Musketeers looks worth a look <shallow>

The BC episode of HIGNFY is on some time this week and Tinker Tailor Solider Spy is on Channel 4 on Friday.

I'm still drooling over the US Vogue photoshoot. However, my copy of ST:ID arrived today. Quite looking forward to the extras bit grin

Metamorphosis is on 4Extra at 00.30 if anyone is still awake! I usually fall asleep listening to the channel, so look forward to waking up to BC's hushed tones in my ear wink

What? No more erotic thriller? DAAAAAMMMMNNNNN....

And even though I'm loving the Star Trek reboots, I am VERY wary of any new Star Wars material. Three words: Jar Jar Binks... (But if this is true, Benedict may make me reconsider.)

cumberbatchcoffeeklatch.tumblr.com/post/60078569269/report-benedict-cumberbatch-cast-in-star-wars-episode

Twitter has been full of denials that BC is in Star Wars. I'm not even sure that the prospect of BC could tempt me to watch a Star Wars film. Probably only if there was guaranteed nudity wink

LetUsPrey Tue 03-Sep-13 07:59:45

Would love him to be in Star Wars! Best friend loves the films, as does DS1 so double excuse again to watch grin

He's such a goofball...

As for Star Wars, there were loads of denials about his role in ST:ID as well. But in any case, I have zero control over it, so I'm not getting worked up either way.

But yes, Frankel, if BC would play, perhaps Han Solo's father...

[In an aside, I recently saw a trailer for Paranoia, and I yelled out, Hey, I didn't know Gene Hackman was still making films! And then I realized it was Harrison Ford...] Ouch.

Shirts
Had somehow missed these before today
Denial about Star Wars
Sherlock is the Virgin God of Sex

This last one kept me busy for a while. DH is an orthodontist, and as a result, I have also started staring at people's mouths. Spot the wonky tooth!

Thanks for the links GreenCard.

Re the Star Wars denials, someone pointed out that "not been cast" is not the same as "not interested" or "not in talks" wink

Roll on Toronto next week so we can get more SuitBatch!

Ooh love Star Wars - even better if BC is in it!
My plans for this weekend - 3 evening dates with him wink
Fri - ST:ID
Sat - Sherlock
Sun - Tinker, Tailor
All with DH blessing as he likes them too!

MrsJohnHarrison, sounds like a great weekend!

I know this is the BCAS, but I also know there are quite a few Tom Hiddleston fans as well. A friend just posted this, and I must say, I feel Cookie Monster's pain.

LetUsPrey Thu 05-Sep-13 22:06:35

I have TTSS set to record.

Looking forward to this

Telegraph review of Fifth Estate

Red Carpet Batch

There are red carpet interviews too, but haven't had a chance to watch them yet.

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Sep-13 08:03:09

There are so many red carpet pictures on Tumblr - spoilt for choice!

Noooooooo! WAYWB is closing down <sobs>

If anyone is out there, the live stream press conference featuring BC starts soon. Watch here

Hmmm, BC looked very good at the Press Conference grin

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Sep-13 17:25:51

They're leaving the WAYWB blog up though so we can still look at it. It's all BC's fault for learning how to dress himself grin

Not watched the press conference. Bloody work Do you think it might be available anywhere for public viewing on the Internet? grin

If he looks anywhere near as good as he does on the red carpet photos, then a treat awaits.

review after last night's red carpet event. Bless his geeky little socks!

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Sep-13 21:42:34

The link doesn't work Frankel sad

This needs to be a thing

Twelve Years A Slave red carpet. What's that bloke on the left's name again? wink

Sorry about link fail, Cumberbatchweb tweeted it but I'll look it out again.

Try this link

It starts out with no sound but once they're sat at the table it kicks in.

If that doesn't work, search for "TIFF" on YouTube and then look through their Press Conferences playlist to find the Fifth Estate grin

From Fifth Estate press conference

12 Years A Slave red carpet

Looks like he's trying to perfect his "Roger Moore Eyebrow"

He's confirmed he won't be attending the August Osage County premiere as he's flying back to the UK to start filming The Imitation Game. And in that note, if you fancy being an extra in the film THIS ADVERT has appeared on a casting website. Honestly if it was closer to me and I wasn't pregnant I'd be applying, as I fit the criteria, but I'm so knackered at the moment I just can't manage 6am starts sad

So have you all rushed off to apply for a part as an extra in The Imitation Game? wink

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Sep-13 17:18:24

No, I've watched Star Trek Into Darkness with DS1.

And as a payback for my Benedict lustings, I am having to listen to a homework meltdown (one week in people) about how stupid homework is and it's unfair and how it's all my fault.

Frankel, alas no. I am under 5'2" and my hair is...well, lots of different shades of what the colourist didn't get right. Right now my roots are long enough to make people think I'm wearing religious headgear if they're standing far enough away. Next attempt at getting it right is next week. Pray for me. Not to mention the distance thing.

Prey, I think I'll join you at the bar tonight. I had a mega meltdown to contend with last Wednesday. DS1's was the only 2nd grade class to have an assignment set -- copy down 1 (one! ONE!!) paragraph. It took him 2.5 hours. Lots of screaming, crying, chest-beating. He seems to have zero interest in school, having already told me halfway through his FIRST schoolyear (last year) that he hates school. Way to go, there, Madame Teacher.

For the rest of you...Oh my stars and garters...the first one.

The comparison with an acorn was bad enough, but the reply "Ah but from acorns come mighty oaks......." just made me spew water out my nose.

And Frankel, your response was brilliant. Good on you!

I thank you grin Though I think the Cumberlovers outnumber the Cumberhaters over there now!

I've left them with an oldie but a goodie grin

Have you seen this yet?

Would someone please tell me what that video the dancing gif is from? I stopped watching all forms of music television when MTV started broadcasting utter shit instead of videos. (I mean the last GIF before #5)

No idea Greencard but it's freakin hilarious!

LetUsPrey Wed 11-Sep-13 21:46:46

Not been around much to post but am looking at links. DS1 been feeling not too good on and off last few days - all connected with starting senior school I think. He's a right little worrypants.

Aw poor thing, did he like Into Darkness?

What I wouldn't give to see this through the window grin

Well helloooo! Not been on the thread for a while owing to a) new job, and b) being constantly on the Bootcamp thread as I'm low carbing. Lovely links -especially your Sweet Baby Jeebus one, Frankelly grin!
Anyone going to see the cinema showings of Frankenstein in October/November? I'm hoping to as one is on my birthday - squeee! Ok - will go now and read more posts I've missed.

LetUsPrey Fri 13-Sep-13 16:22:54

Loving the links.

DS1 seems to be getting the hang of senior school <fingers crossed>. He really enjoyed ST:ID, even though I'd already taken him to see it at the cinema grin

I'm hoping to get to see Frankenstein at the end of October, although it's on a Thursday which is one of DH's regular match nights.

Hmm. Link fail. better?

Oh FGS! It's about him being interested in a rôle in StarWars.

I can see it Holmes grin

Oh yes please

Oh good, Frankel! Like yours too. He seems to be leaning towards me eagerly from the screen, looking very pleased about something... This can only be A. Good. Thing. wink

P.S. I am currently listening to Cabin Pressure en famille. Rotterdam.

LetUsPrey Fri 13-Sep-13 19:16:50

Does the man have no pity? grin

I'm off for a lie down

shock shock shock No pity at all! A lie down definitely needed.

Can't stop looking at that picture! Definitely one of my new faves.

And this is one of my old faves. So adorable!

Ladies, I just got a heads-up from a Sherlock-fan friend in the US. Today's t-shirt at TeeFury is right up our alley:

www.teefury.com/

But this Shirt is only for sale today (13 Sept.).

Just sayin'.

LetUsPrey Tue 17-Sep-13 07:59:14

[thud]

grin Thanks Prey, just what I need on a Tuesday morning!

Mmm - lovely. I have a confession to make... I have recently been slightly distracted away from BC-watching by... David Tennant. Just been watching his Doctor Who series for the first time and am a bit of a convert (I could never see the attraction before tbh). Anyway - your link certainly refocussed me, Prey!

Holmes it was his stint as the Doctor that turned me on (fnar!) to Mr Tennant. Hence why the picture at the bottom of this page (as well as the second one down!) is one of my favs grin

Sadly Mr ztennant recently fell off the bottom of my "List" as I discovered Jensen Ackles grin

Yum - good picture <suppresses decidedly naughty thoughts>. I'm about to start watching the Matt Smith series, but it won't be the same sad. I feel quite bereft..

Oh I don't know, right at the end of Matt Smith's first episode he does a walk towards the camera and my ovaries brain suddenly said "well, hellloooo!" Then I had an utterly filthy dream about him a few weeks later and the deal was done. Matt Smith is still on my "List" grin
