here

Been shared a good trillion times on Facebook, lovely and all that but is it just me who thinks it goes on a bit?

<grumpy cow emotion>

trockodile Thu 10-Jan-13 12:53:36

It was long-but it was saved by the choir and change of pace at the end! And very sweet

flowery Thu 10-Jan-13 12:54:01

Yes it's just you.

grin

It's probably because you don't know all the people. I imagine for the guests and family etc who knew the people he was thanking it was fine.

My DH did something similar for our wedding, except he played some wonderful Chopin rather than singing.

mynameis Thu 10-Jan-13 12:55:59

grin I blame the PMT and the fact dd2 keeps putting it on YouTube

flowery Thu 10-Jan-13 13:02:14

I imagine it is seeming long if you keep having to watch it...

Very sweet though, made me feel a bit teary. blush

cookielove Thu 10-Jan-13 13:18:49

Ahh that is sweet!!

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:27:15

I thought it was really sweet and very heartfelt. I wonder how Harry topped it at his wedding though......

pictish Sat 12-Jan-13 21:28:45

I'm with you OP - I watched about a minute and a half before I switched him off, feeling like he needed a good slap.

readyforno2 Sat 12-Jan-13 21:30:10

I thought it was a bit of a cop out to be honest..

pictish Sat 12-Jan-13 21:30:58

Oh my god - I just realised that he goes on for fifteen minutes!!
No need!

OnlyWantsOne Sat 12-Jan-13 21:31:19

I cried sad

AppleOgies Sat 12-Jan-13 21:32:09

I thought it was lovely!

pictish Sat 12-Jan-13 21:32:58

What an egotist.

LostInWales Sat 12-Jan-13 21:33:17

I don't even know who he is but it's wonderful [old bird getting tired and emotional emoticon], YY to it going on too long if you aren't family but the joy of youtube is scanning ahead. Left me all a bit teary and sad that I won't be that young and beautiful ever again with a clever young man serenading me <sob>.

I may be a bit hormonal <heading downhill to menopause, waaaaaillll>

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 12-Jan-13 21:35:03

Aww my cousin was at his wedding <boasts>

pictish Sat 12-Jan-13 21:40:13

Way to turn his wedding into the Tom Fletcher Show though. Nice one Tom.

I thought it was lovely. We walked back down the aisle to a cover of White Wedding (Billy Idol) which DH recorded the lyrics, guitars, drums etc etc... It was brilliant and I was very proud!

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:46:33

Did you marry Harry SuzySheep?

Hahaha nah my DH is much better than him! wink

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:49:28

grin

MikeLitoris Sat 12-Jan-13 21:49:43

I loved it.

It made me sad that no one will ever sing to me like that sad

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:51:30

We could get a MN choir together to sing to you MikeL if it'll make you feel better?

pictish Sat 12-Jan-13 21:51:45

He wasn't singing to her.
He was singing for 15 minutes so everyone would look at him and tell him how fabulous he is.
Tawdry git. None of that was for her sake.

LostInWales Sat 12-Jan-13 21:53:45

Aw pictish, such cynicism I have a feeling you are right though

My DH wrote me a song... Just sayin'...

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:55:40

But McFly never blatantly self promote whilst seemingly doing things for someone else......

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:58:13

Yeah but is he famous Suzy? Otherwise it's just not up there.... A Hello deal perhaps?

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 21:58:42

By the way if you now say yes I will drop my wine and fall off my sofa

Ruprekt Sat 12-Jan-13 21:59:33

I loved it as did DH and I cried too.

Hahaha no, but he's done 3 albums of a mixture of covers and original stuff... He's vair clever... And he's on YouTube though it sounds much better live

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 22:02:10

Link please!

MaureenMLove Sat 12-Jan-13 22:02:26

Aw, it was lovely. Leave them alone!

It's not like McFly have got an Autobiography just out or a childrens book written by one of them or a tour in 2013...... winkgrin

MikeLitoris Sat 12-Jan-13 22:02:39

shopa yes please.

I loved the star boy chris moyles thing too.

I think I'm a closet McFly fan. I never realised.

Will try...

FoofyShmooffer Sat 12-Jan-13 22:05:12

Long.
Really long and repetitive.

There was a poster on MN over the last year or so who posted her DH and groomsmen doing a rendition of Flying without Wings that they'd rehearsed and surprised her with. Now that was special. It was absolutely brilliant.

Piffpaffpoff Sat 12-Jan-13 22:06:12

I started off thinking it was clever, then about 8 mins in started thinking it was a bit show-offy, and then thought the end was lovely. Went on a bit though, maybe could have trimmed it to a verse and chorus per thank you.

As I said, much better live...

He's now upset because its terrible quality and the album version is much better... Sorry DH blush

The other version is faster too

FoofyShmooffer Sat 12-Jan-13 22:10:11

He's posted it himself on the YouTube under the heading 'my wedding speech'?
Oh no. I'm not keen on that at all. He might as well have entitled it "Aren't I just the loveliest?"

Anyway, back to Tom... I liked it smile

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 22:10:46

Just for the record I too am a closet McFly lover and used to sing StarGirl on the way to work every Friday listening to Radio 1
And then they did this

shopafrolic Sat 12-Jan-13 22:14:06

DH shouldn't be upset Suzy it's really good!

Thank you, I'll pass that on smile smile smile
I think it was just a knee-jerk "You've done WHAT now?!!! oops
