Yes, I know it's been said many times and it is totally ignoring his massive achievements and objectifying his deeply sexy shoulders and winning smile but jeez, what am I going to do for Saturday night fantasies from now on?

LewisFan Sat 08-Sep-12 22:39:52

oh he is HOT!!!

I have a photo on my fb page of him - he really sets the hormones going!

Meglet Sat 08-Sep-12 22:39:56

He is jaw droppingly good looking.

I would like to offer my house as a sanctuary for him to recover from the games.

ratbagcatbag Sat 08-Sep-12 22:40:55

Mmmmmm mmmmmm mighty fine smile and bod smile

BupcakesandCunting Sat 08-Sep-12 22:40:59

I would.

Thrice.

MissBetseyTrotwood Sat 08-Sep-12 22:42:19

Saw him in the FLESH at the Paralympics and he is MIGHTY fine.

I think he might need a big massage after all those races. grin

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sat 08-Sep-12 22:43:48

I'm shallow and i am fine with that, he is lovely!

SpottedGurnard Sat 08-Sep-12 22:44:16

Just checking in to say I wouldn't kick him out of bed. Phwoar.

SheelaNeGoldGig Sat 08-Sep-12 22:44:33

Oh yes. I so would.

LewisFan Sat 08-Sep-12 22:44:44

Miss Betsey I was SO glad he was on the line up on the night we went!!

PseudoBadger Sat 08-Sep-12 22:44:46

Agreed.

rhondajean Sat 08-Sep-12 22:45:39

He is rather lovely.

He is fine! I so would. Repeatedly.

The numerals on his arm are his mums date of death and the tat on his back is from 1 Corinthians v.9.

threeOrangesocksmorgan Sat 08-Sep-12 22:47:27

he is and so is Jonnie

gallifrey Sat 08-Sep-12 22:47:53

agree, he is a lovely looking man and I would ;)

Lorelilee Sat 08-Sep-12 22:48:59

Every night of the week and twice on Sunday.

MakeHayNotStraw Sat 08-Sep-12 22:49:53

Hell yeah, I would. Many times. DH is having a crisis because I made appreciative noises during the race.

Caoimhe Sat 08-Sep-12 22:50:04

Stand back the lot of you. He is mine, all mine (in my dreams!)

Sunnywithachanceofshowers Sat 08-Sep-12 22:52:13

Oh yes. <fans self>

thebestisyettocome Sat 08-Sep-12 22:53:05

Imagine waking up to that smile every morning...

MissBetseyTrotwood Sat 08-Sep-12 22:53:19

arf @ 'appreciative noises during the race.' What sort grin

Sadly, we didn't see him race, just a medals ceremony. Got a good long lot of him though!

MissBetseyTrotwood Sat 08-Sep-12 22:54:14

And YY to the smile. Bit crooked... soo nice. Especially like him with specs too.

GreenEyesAndHam Sat 08-Sep-12 22:55:25

God he is ^f

RedBlanket Sat 08-Sep-12 22:56:44

I hugely admire his achievements and his arse

Meglet Sat 08-Sep-12 22:57:02

I forgot his Clark Kent specs <<swoon>>

GreenEyesAndHam Sat 08-Sep-12 22:57:23

Lolol @ premature posting

I meant to say, he is fine

I'm always on here lusting and perving over various menz, but I rilly rilly fancy Oscar blush

Please allow me to re-share this for your viewing pleasure.

View with caution.

Who is this please ?

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sat 08-Sep-12 22:59:24

I like him best with a bit of stubble!

Oscar Pistorius. Parathlete. Legend. And fit.

Veiw with caution????

I thought he was goin to be at least a bit naked....

Who is he again?

WilfSell Sat 08-Sep-12 23:00:57

korma, Oscar Pistorius, Paralympian double amputee, multiple gold medallist, and again tonight in the 400m, who also competed in the Olympics.

And general muscle-totty for horny middle aged mothers to ogle over. And who may well bat for the other side though that rarely puts me off my stroke grin

GreenEyesAndHam Sat 08-Sep-12 23:01:14

It's the wonky smile that does it for me, I feel my ovaries swell every time he grins

<fans self>

MyOrangeDogShitsGoldMoney Sat 08-Sep-12 23:03:37

I can't take credit for the link, it was posted on another thread.

Has the phrase "slick with horn" ever been more appropriate?!

MissBetseyTrotwood Sat 08-Sep-12 23:04:11

I just laughed so hard at swelling ovaries that the dog jumped off the sofa. He weighs 40 kilos and landed on my right foot the fool.

RedBlanket Sat 08-Sep-12 23:04:35

Mumble - he's a top athlete, there aren't naked pictures not that I've looked much

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sat 08-Sep-12 23:04:39

He's on the news now!!

Oi who you calling middle aged? I'm only 32. grin

I luffs him. grin

AnyFucker Sat 08-Sep-12 23:06:07

He has a funny mouth and teeth that don't seem to fit

Other than that, I concur....

MakeHayNotStraw Sat 08-Sep-12 23:06:09

Re: appreciative noises - someone who was obviously not me may have suggested that he was mighty fine. And that his buttocks looked good in that skin tight suit. And that no, there was no way we were turning over to check the tennis score while they were showing replays and interviewing him.... Definitely not me, though, no Sir.

MakeHayNotStraw Sat 08-Sep-12 23:08:54

wilfsell, those kind of appreciative noises are being saved for my dreams...!

Wolfcub Sat 08-Sep-12 23:11:22

He is gorgeous and also very smart. I am very much in lust with him.

GreatGretzky Sat 08-Sep-12 23:19:05

He is stunning. His smile is adorable! And that accent...I would happily listen to him read the phonebook!

4yo DD has developed a crush too. "Mummy cut out Oscar from the papers so I can put it in my book please!" She has fine taste!

AmIthatbad Sat 08-Sep-12 23:54:01

RedBlanket

Not quite naked, but here you go

And he does have an adorable wonky smile blush

kittencuddles Sun 09-Sep-12 00:10:49

Vicbic Sun 09-Sep-12 00:16:51

Vicbic Sun 09-Sep-12 00:17:05

Yum Yum Yum!

GothAnneGeddes Sun 09-Sep-12 00:21:07

He is beautiful, a lovely man and utterly dreamy.

Read a v good interview in the NYT where he came across extremely well: www.nytimes.com/2012/01/22/magazine/oscar-pistorius.html?pagewanted=all

oooooooooooohhhhhh

Thanks for sharing :-)

Off to search google images

MakeHayNotStraw Sun 09-Sep-12 07:01:49

Just discovered a benefit of my dcs getting up at stoopid o'clock - replays of last night's athletics! I've now introduced dd to Oscar's lush body skill and talent on two blades.

Mmm-mmm again!

Goonatic Sun 09-Sep-12 07:13:12

makehay I got into trouble for that too, a kind of deep sigh filled with awe, had this from DH hmm so I had to explain.
If you squint DH has a passing resemblance to him to I played on that....
Have a proper full on crush now.
Phwoar!

Goonatic Sun 09-Sep-12 07:13:36

Am about to watch race for the first time, don't tell me the result!!!

Pagwatch Sun 09-Sep-12 07:34:41

I was there last night. Row 10. So close you could just reach out.....
He is amazing. What a performance.

Goonatic Sun 09-Sep-12 07:39:14

Wow pag what a memory!!!!

Pagwatch Sun 09-Sep-12 07:43:34

We all got a bit teary. The whole night was great but Oscar was breath taking.
Ds2 wants to run now.[gin]

Pagwatch Sun 09-Sep-12 07:44:15

Oh, it's early for gin...

MyOrangeDogShitsGoldMoney Sun 09-Sep-12 08:09:54

You were there? envy

<<seeths with jealousy>>

Pagwatch Sun 09-Sep-12 08:12:45

Oh yes.
I may start a whole gloaty, smug thread. I need to tell more people. It was just fanfuckingtastic.

<<gloaty, smug fucker>>

MyOrangeDogShitsGoldMoney Sun 09-Sep-12 10:16:29

Or maybe just casually drop it in on every thread you post on.

eg. Yes, I agree, you should choose the black pair. As someone who was actually at the paralympics last night and saw Oscar Pistorius at very close quarters, I think they are far superior to the brown ones.

thixotropic Sun 09-Sep-12 10:34:29

Very. Tasty.

LadyBeagleEyes Sun 09-Sep-12 10:54:21

I love him.
Not only is he gorgeous to look at but he is utterly delightful in interviews.

FreudiansGoldSlipper Sun 09-Sep-12 11:56:09

i love his smile he is gorgeous i am a little bit in love (though still madly in love with Usain i have no problems in sharing my love around)

AmIthatbad Sun 09-Sep-12 12:01:40

I must admit I hadn't really given him much thought till this thread, and then when I went looking for half or fully naked pics last night, and getting distracted by videos and photos, I can now conclude that I am officially in lust.

And I've kind of missed the boat a bit.

Have things to do today, but sadly will fill my day with Oscar hunting, while I listen to the tennis on 5 live.

Oh well, someone's got to do it grin

MakeHayNotStraw Sun 09-Sep-12 16:24:55

Just make sure you share the spoils if you find more tasty pics.. Don't be greedy, now!

peeriePistoriuslicker Sun 09-Sep-12 16:33:26

Oh gods he is gorgeous. And such a sweetie. That smile, those arms...
I am having a boy this week. DH watched the Paras coverage with me and suggested Oscar was a nice name. However if I use it EVERYONE will know it's because I think OP is utterly, utterly fit. I have not been silent in my adoration.

LadyBeagleEyes Sun 09-Sep-12 16:35:12

Oh you must call him Oscar peerie.
It's a lovely name.

TheDogDidIt Sun 09-Sep-12 16:36:20

Christ, yes. If I wasn't 42 I definitely would be looking at him in That Way. But I'm not, of course, because that would be inappropriate. confused

AmIthatbad Sun 09-Sep-12 17:10:47

Sorry, I'm more than 42 and I am definitely looking at him in that way. grin I'm 25 in my head.

rubyrubyruby Sun 09-Sep-12 17:14:43

I have a rule that I cannot possibly fancy anyone younger than my own DS

rubyrubyruby Sun 09-Sep-12 17:18:38

Just checked Wiki and Oscar is 3 months older! grin

peeriePistoriuslicker Sun 09-Sep-12 17:29:28

He has the same birthday as DH. Pretty sure I can exploit this as a loophole somehow.

PseudoBadger Sun 09-Sep-12 17:34:25

Great. Another famous person who's younger than me now. I'm ancientsad

Hanleyhigh Sun 09-Sep-12 17:42:48

I saw him in Manchester earlier this year and I thought he was better looking in real life than in pictures.

I might have dribbled.

DH just sighed and shook his head!

AmIthatbad Sun 09-Sep-12 17:57:53

ruby Phew, he's fair game then grin

MakeHayNotStraw Mon 10-Sep-12 07:25:43

Ah well, if them's the rules I'm safe - ds is a baby. Phew! C'mere Oscar, you know you want to!

(Btw wilfsell, I think peerie called you fit - as you are the OP after all....)

Mrsjay Mon 10-Sep-12 09:06:55

HE is HOT grin

nothing else to say really <shallow>

GreatGretzky Mon 10-Sep-12 10:39:57
HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Mon 10-Sep-12 10:49:46

Oh i think i would have been tempted to grab him or at the very least pinch his bum

Mrsjay Mon 10-Sep-12 11:21:14

I would turn into a simpering girl if I was that close blush

gazzalw Mon 10-Sep-12 11:24:27

He may not have won the golds but he is probably arguably still the best known Olympian of this Paralympics.

Mrsjay Mon 10-Sep-12 11:25:41

He did win a couple of golds and he is a complete diva but that face those arms that bum blush

GreatGretzky Mon 10-Sep-12 11:36:12

I think I did turn into a simpering girl blush So glad I had the barrier to hold onto else I think I might have fallen over! It's the smile that gets me!

Mrsjay Mon 10-Sep-12 11:38:09

He must know how hot he is what with swooning women al around him holding on to barriers grin

Meglet Mon 10-Sep-12 11:58:42

He probably had to take up running to get away from the hoards of girls chasing him.

I was less than SIX FEET away from him too on Friday night due to my amazing seat right near the front and right where the athletes come out (it even had a "Getty Images" sticker on it, it was that good!) He smiled at me. I am not joking. I have the (blurry - cos he was so close and I had my zoom on!) photo!!

DH unimpressed. He was there too. Heck, I was closer to Oscar than DH as we had three children between us!

Gutted the photo is blurry, but I uploaded it to my profile so you can see smile What makes me laugh is all the women gamesmakers taking photos right behind him!!

Pagwatch Mon 10-Sep-12 13:34:14

Ooh I was just around a bit from you then!

We were just near the start - about the 10 meter mark.
The nose was amazing. I loved the shot putter too. She did the best lap of honor grin

Heh, you must have been! I couldn't believe the luck of my seat - it said "row 6" on the ticket but there were only two rows in front of us due to the way it curved. I could touch them as they walked past!

I also had to breastfeed 16 month DS in front of them all too as it was one of the few things that kept him quiet once he got sick of raisins..

It was a fabulous night. The shotputter was brilliant, you're right!

peeriePistoriuslicker Mon 10-Sep-12 14:21:27

My auntie was there on Saturday for his 400m gold, two rows from the front right near the starting blocks. She has just posted some amazing close up photos on Facebook.

Sadly I only had one chance as he walked past (too close!) as the start for the 400m was down by the finish line and we were at the 100m start. So I have great photos of other athletes, just no great ones of Oscar. Your auntie was so lucky!!

Ironically we were down by the 400m start the night before.. (row 13!) when Oscar did the 100m. He cleared off fast because he didn't even get a medal, so I missed my chance then as I was concentrating on Mr. Peacock!

AmIthatbad Mon 10-Sep-12 20:30:11

Lovely pic Murder. What an unbelievable smile he has <melt>

Look at what he has just tweeted

@OscarPistorius: Thinking of climbing into bed and sleeping for a day..

Must not reply with gratuitous or lewd suggestions.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 11-Sep-12 13:23:19

Go on, i dare you!

I might offer to join him myself!

Mmmmmmm it's a rather delicious thought isn't it?

Nancy66 Tue 11-Sep-12 13:34:21

He is lovely....is he single? Won't be for long if he is

GreatGretzky Tue 11-Sep-12 21:10:13

He is yummy. grin

AmIthatbad Tue 11-Sep-12 23:20:36

GreatGretzky Thank you. He is so pretty. That mouth blush

BTW love that the film gives credit to a "dresser". There wasn't much dressing going on that I could see grin

SpitTheDog Wed 12-Sep-12 08:34:06

Whoah, that it is great find GreatGretzky!

I think I'm getting withdrawal symptoms from not seeing him on the tv (!) so that was a treat grin

MrsOscarPistorius Wed 12-Sep-12 09:22:32

SpitTheDog Wed 12-Sep-12 13:20:19

Thanks London 2012 smile

RedBlanket Wed 12-Sep-12 14:17:14

Feel like a proper perve with that first video. Is there any point apart from ogling.
How do you get a job dressing half naked fit young men?

MrsOscarPistorius Wed 12-Sep-12 14:43:26

ruby I had the same thought, he must do, noone is that hairless!

Spit it's the heat magazine photo shoot.

<perve emoticon grin>

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Wed 12-Sep-12 16:37:20

Oh! My spiritual (and hormonal) home found at last!

Dd keeps chanting "Mummy fancies Oscar" and is aghast that fancying means you want to snog.

Dh just keeps pointing out that grey bit on th back ofhis head. The grey bit I need to run my hands over.

RedBlanket Wed 12-Sep-12 17:01:59

'mummy why are you googling Oscar Pistorious chest'?

blush

GreatGretzky Wed 12-Sep-12 17:05:43

Love that video hermione

Ohh the grey patch...I want to stroke it blush DH would think I'd gone mad if he knew how much I loved someone's little patch of grey hair!

GreatGretzky Wed 12-Sep-12 17:08:57

grin Red

DD keeps coming over to see what I'm looking at. "Oh Oscar again! Good Mummy" grin

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Wed 12-Sep-12 17:47:48

I haven't clicked on the links yet because dh is 5ft away from me and thinks I am filling in a PPI form.

T'is Pistorius Pulling Information am actually looking for. He isn't really on the other bus is he? I can sort his godbothering out (he wouldn't be the first) but not sure even I could get him off the other bus.

MrsOscarPistorius Wed 12-Sep-12 18:20:47

Anyone know when he is next in the UK? Missed out on seeing him @ the Paralympics sad

I too require that information. Do you think he will compete at the commonwealth games?

MrsOscarPistorius Wed 12-Sep-12 20:46:56

I hope he will be in the Commonwealth Games, they include a number of "Para" events (not as many as Paraympics) and he may be in the AB 400m as well? Thats not til 2014 but I am well up for a trip to Glasgow if he is in it!

There is also a Paralympics World Cup which is held yearly in Manchester, Im hoping that he will be there next year - should be a lot easier to get tix than for London 2012!

I'm in Manchester! La la la!

AmIthatbad Wed 12-Sep-12 21:15:46

I'm well up for volunteering for Glasgow 2014 grin

SpitTheDog Wed 12-Sep-12 21:37:42

You might get a peek somehow before then, maybe this November in Glasgow?

MrsOscarPistorius Wed 12-Sep-12 21:43:24

Lucky students who graduate with Oscar, we had Vladimir Ashkenazi at mine - impressive but nowhere in the hotness stakes obv...

AmIthatbad Wed 12-Sep-12 21:58:58

oh, I wish I was till a student. Imagine those eyes boring into you over the warm orange juice and canapes

GreatGretzky Wed 12-Sep-12 22:22:45

I'm hoping he's at Glasgow 2014 too!

Awww He can even get away with wearing his hat at a silly angle

perplexedpirate Wed 12-Sep-12 22:35:27

That bit in the video where his abs flex makes me go proper funny. grinblushgrin

<dies of perv>

RedBlanket Wed 12-Sep-12 22:50:25

Young not waxed Oscar

AmIthatbad Wed 12-Sep-12 22:50:30

Can you die of perv?

What a good way to go, though.

I think when my time comes, I would like to die of perv

<goes off to watch video again to take prope note of flexing abs>

RedBlanket Thu 13-Sep-12 21:14:09

OP's girlfriend - that's quite a celebration of athleticism! Wish i'c paid a not more attention to the water polo.

GreatGretzky Thu 13-Sep-12 22:24:43

grin love the name change OPG

Anyone want more topless pics?

SpitTheDog Thu 13-Sep-12 22:25:38

More more!!

And this is a lovely article smile.

I think I'm getting obsessed! Its his eyes and smile that just knock me out...

AmIthatbad Thu 13-Sep-12 22:41:30

That was a lovely article. I think Christie is a wee bit smitten.

And I'm getting obsessed too. I have got tons of other stuff to be getting on with, but I am spending my time between Oscar and Andy Murray, and really should know better.

He does have the most amazing smile, and every pic I've seen, the smile goes all the way up to the eyes. Beautiful man

GreatGretzky Thu 13-Sep-12 22:46:39

SpitTheDog I'm gonna spend all night looking through those photos now! And that is a lovely article smile

TheSmallClanger Thu 13-Sep-12 23:15:37

I know what you mean about his smile going all the way to his eyes.

To lower the tone down to its normal level, he also has one of the nicest bums I have ever seen on a man, and I have seen quite a few in my time wink. He even looks good in yellow lycra, which suits no-one.

That's it I'm officially in love with him.

Just read his book "blade runner". What a lovely, lovely guy. So humble but oh so talented.

And that smile.......

AmIthatbad Thu 13-Sep-12 23:49:51

<scoots off to amazon to order Blade Runner>

grin

GreatGretzky Thu 13-Sep-12 23:54:30

I'm reading it at the moment, already one of my favourite celeb books and I'm only halfway through!

Lovely video interview Especially like the part about the rugby incident!

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Fri 14-Sep-12 09:46:27

Spending your time between Oscar and Andy Murray? Andy Murray?????? In the same breath as Oscar. T'is blasphemy.

There's a book?! Can Amazon deliver when dh is out?

Oscar is a Scorpio I see. (just) Like me. T'is fate. Even if I was 21 when he was born. <channels Mrs Robinson>

I orders it on kindle grin

I was only 7 when he was born. Therefore tis an acceptable age gap do he's mine!

Meglet Fri 14-Sep-12 16:19:16

I got distracted at work earlier when Oakley RT a delicious pic of him at their HQ today. <<fans self>>.

This is great it's like being a teenager again grin.

I too saw that pic. grin

AmIthatbad Fri 14-Sep-12 19:00:59

meglet what, where, when?

Is this twitter?

AmIthatbad Fri 14-Sep-12 19:09:04

It's so fun having a crush. grin

GreatGretzky Fri 14-Sep-12 21:40:24

I love coming on MN and seeing new posts on this thread! smile

It is fun having a crush, I feel like a teenager again grin

AmIthatbad Fri 14-Sep-12 21:43:48

Agree, mega fun.

And he is so,so lovely. Went to Waterstones at lunchtime and flicked through the book. Nice pics of him as a wee boy. Am buying off Amazon.

My internet stalking turned up the horrible possibilty that he is now seeing a Russian supermodel. Can't be true, though, as I am adamant that he has a penchnat for dumpy, middle aged Scottish wifies. grin

GothAnneGeddes Fri 14-Sep-12 23:27:50

I am halfway through his book, very good read so far.

There's something really enjoyable about a luscious crush, but I can't quite put my finger on what exactly.

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Sat 15-Sep-12 08:36:20

Do you think we are a new MN quiche? I've never been in one before!!!!!

GreatGretzky Sat 15-Sep-12 09:53:47

Ooh I like the idea of being part of a quiche, I've never been in one either!

I've started watching the fastest man on no legs, but can only find part 1. sad

GothAnneGeddes Sat 15-Sep-12 11:06:25

GothAnneGeddes Sat 15-Sep-12 11:07:11

Is it on Youtube?

SpitTheDog Sat 15-Sep-12 12:30:44

Here he is with one of his dogs I think?

This was on Twitter so it's not too stalkerish!! wink

How long do threads stay in Chat? I don't want to lose all these lovely links!

SpitTheDog Sat 15-Sep-12 12:41:27

So... what are we... Pistorians?

That doesn't sound quite right!

AmIthatbad Sat 15-Sep-12 13:36:12

I've never even wanted to be in a quiche before. But wouldn't mind this one grin

Oscarettes?

Ozettes?

Pistols?

RedBlanket Sat 15-Sep-12 14:16:26

I can't see this because I'm on my phone but it might be the full film

Hilariously you have to be a teacher to download it! Does doing a degree in history count? It does have a nice little interview with him though.

{swoon thud}

GreatGretzky Sat 15-Sep-12 15:10:09

SpitTheDog I've seen people use 'Pistorians' before so you might be right!

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Sat 15-Sep-12 15:11:55

I've got an A'level <hopeful>

We are Pistorians.

<gavel>

AmIthatbad Sat 15-Sep-12 15:25:49

Well, my book is due here by Tuesday :-) I can't wait.

My favourite clip has been the behind the scenes at Closer magazine shoot. He is so adorable and the interviewer makes no secret of the fact that she wants to lick him all over and get close to him.

<curses self for not getting very first job at DC Thomson and becoming Queen Bee of journalism>

TheSmallClanger Sat 15-Sep-12 16:58:24

There are two of those interviews.

He is being blatantly flirted with by an older woman, and he does not mind AT ALL.

Meglet Sat 15-Sep-12 18:11:16

Have we seen twitter today wink

<<gets cold showers ready>>

Oh dear god. <fans self.> <looks up flights to cape town.> grin

GothAnneGeddes Sat 15-Sep-12 23:22:07

Just out of interest, where do the "On the other bus" rumours spring from?

Google has nothing, he has had girlfriends and according to the interview up there, is alright with blokes calling him sexy (when most people in the closet get a bit antsy about that sort of thing).

Is it just because he's softly spoken and well-groomed, or is there anything more substantial?

GreatGretzky Sun 16-Sep-12 01:15:06

Some of you might like THIS shock blush grin

GreatGretzky Sun 16-Sep-12 01:19:44

Might not be what it looks like but I'm going to enjoy thinking that it is grin

AmIthatbad Sun 16-Sep-12 05:28:36

The thing is, what else could it be. Pretty impressive anyway wink

RedBlanket Sun 16-Sep-12 08:42:51

Wtf is that all about! He must really like training!

AmIthatbad Sun 16-Sep-12 09:24:46

I had to check that a couple of times, to make sure I wasn't seeing things

Hahahahaha! Had to look twice!

MrsOscarPistorius Sun 16-Sep-12 14:51:17

I read "Bladerunner" on my Kindle, erm its a bit cack. (He was only 21 when it was written so will let him off). Think he needs a new biographer, I'd happily volunteer for that job!

MrsOscarPistorius Sun 16-Sep-12 14:59:23

Its my (RL) Dh spreading the on the other bus rumours ...

RedBlanket Sun 16-Sep-12 15:03:31

Im not getting any gay vibes. I'm sure I saw a video of him with a girlfriend.

MrsOP it's fab! I loves it cos he was only a kid when it was written. I like writing I shall do him his new one.

SpitTheDog Sun 16-Sep-12 20:00:54

Ha! Where did you find that GreatGretzky?! Fantastic find grin

I've also downloaded Blade Runner, hoping to read it soon.

He just seems to get more and more gorgeous the older he gets <swoon>

SpitTheDog Sun 16-Sep-12 20:07:24

Also there was a short interview with his then girlfriend on Fastest Man with No Legs... I've watched a little bit on You Tube.

I get the impression he likes blondes...

AmIthatbad Sun 16-Sep-12 21:17:58

Yes, he was cute when he was younger, but he is maturing into a stunningly handsome man.

Guess this'll be another pleasurably wasted night surfing the net to look for Oscar stuff.

He is soooooooo pretty smile

GreatGretzky Sun 16-Sep-12 21:40:35

Spit a friend sent it to me, no idea where she found it though!

Evenings spent wasting time perving on Oscar are the best kind of evenings! grin

He is the kind of man who matures into his looks isn't he. Gorgeous. grin

zebrazoo Sun 16-Sep-12 23:55:49

any views on the book? someone has said its rubbish - what was rubbish about it? was going to wait for a reprint with 2012 olympics, but i doubt it will be an entire rewrite so if its no good i will forget it

GothAnneGeddes Mon 17-Sep-12 00:56:00

I thought it was quite good actually. No earth shattering insights, but quite funny in places and interesting in others and he comes across very well in it.

I imagine a volume post 2012 would be very interesting. I personally think he got a rather hard time by the media over his remarks about Olivera's blades.

AmIthatbad Mon 17-Sep-12 08:34:19

What on earth did we do before t'internet? I spent a very lovely evening watching videos and looking at pics.

I even sat through The One Show.

I love him smile

Meglet Mon 17-Sep-12 10:04:33

amIthatbad we had Smash Hits and Just Seventeen!

For everyone with a 'monday morning' feeling........

I heart the marketing people at Oakley

I heart them too! Cheered me right up that has.

SpitTheDog Mon 17-Sep-12 13:24:32

Good God.

TheSmallClanger Mon 17-Sep-12 13:38:43

There is a video somewhere that includes Oscar running 100m on a track, filmed from behind. I must find it and post. It's a must for any red-blooded woman who appreciates the male arse form.

WilfSell Mon 17-Sep-12 13:39:55

Oh good grief. May have to go and have a shower meself after that shower scene... My afternoon meeting will go much, er, 'dreamier' now - thanks.

SpitTheDog Mon 17-Sep-12 13:46:26

And I heart you too, fellow Pistorians, for finding all this good stuff!

That Oakley thing is bloody fantastic.

RedBlanket Mon 17-Sep-12 17:58:54

RedBlanket Mon 17-Sep-12 17:59:27

Pistorius! Not postorus

AmIthatbad Mon 17-Sep-12 19:58:33

Does any kind person have a link to the Extraordinary People documentary, the Fatest Man with No Legs? Please

So far, I've seen Part 1 and 2, but I can't find the next bit. I'm only up as far as him looking at the rain in Sheffield.

I've been round and round youtube.

MrsOscarPistorius Mon 17-Sep-12 20:06:35

zebrazoo The book is a tad on the cringe-worthy side, my heart sank reading the rather pompous introduction. The writing is very stilted, which may be partly as it has been translated from the original Italian. There is a lot clearly left unsaid out of family loyalty - why did his parents divorce? what did his mother die from? why did he not go to live with his dad after his mother died? and so on. I would have liked a lot more on his running career, and a bit less on the joys of boarding school etc - it only goes up to about 4 years ago.

back to the youtube videos ...

Blu Mon 17-Sep-12 20:17:24

Is he still here? Or has he gone home?

Meglet Mon 17-Sep-12 20:21:35

It's funny, the more I've watched on YT the easier it is to see how he's understandably being built into a 'Beckham' style brand - which FWIW is ok with me. Everytime I walk past H&M I end up smirking at the giant half-nekkid Davids in the window blush.

GreatGretzky Mon 17-Sep-12 20:43:15

Ooh that BT London thing that Red posted a link to is where I met him!

Blu He's gone home sad He did say at Trafalgar Square he'd be back in two weeks but not sure if he really is or just said it to stop everyone booing when he said he was leaving!

GreatGretzky Mon 17-Sep-12 20:47:51

Have just put friend's pic from Trafalgar Square on my profile. I wasn't thinking calmly enough to get a photo when he was right in front of us! grin

I wouldn't complain if there were posters
Of him half naked all over my high street. blush

Fwiw I think anything that normalises disability is to be praised. I think his competing in the Olympics AND Paralympics was groundbreaking and has laid vital foundations in changing attitudes amongst the public at large and hooray for that!

SpitTheDog Mon 17-Sep-12 20:59:25

Blu according to his twitter account he's now in the Seychelles on some kind of shoot.

Hope we get to see some pics of that soon!

RedBlanket Mon 17-Sep-12 21:25:13

I haven't read his book, I can't imagine many 20 year olds pulling off an interesting autobiography. I even thought Stephen Frys was a bit lightweight.
Geeatgretzy - you're so close. Is he so pretty in real life?

GreatGretzky Mon 17-Sep-12 21:35:21

Yep Red he's stunning! V. intense eyes and he makes a point of looking you in the eye when you talk to him...makes it hard to concentrate on what you're trying to say!

GothAnneGeddes Mon 17-Sep-12 22:44:35

Great - such an amazing picture, I think I would've fainted in your place. wink

MrsOscarPistorius Tue 18-Sep-12 11:26:00

Great fab pic! Hope he is back in the UK soon, DSis and I have a plan to go to the Paralympic World Cup next year if it is on again to drool over him

susitwoshoes Tue 18-Sep-12 14:11:41

how do we find out when Oscar is next competing over here? Saw him at the 200m final (not that close unfortunately) when I didn't really know anything about him - what a wasted opportunity!

TheSmallClanger Tue 18-Sep-12 14:46:37

Ahem.
fuckyeahoscarpistorius.tumblr.com

Everything a Pistorian should desire, apart from the man himself.

GreatGretzky Tue 18-Sep-12 14:55:00

Think that might be my new favourite website! Might need to make an Oscar photo album on my laptop now...

PseudoBadger Tue 18-Sep-12 15:27:40

He looks so young in some of those pictures!

MrsOscarPistorius Tue 18-Sep-12 15:39:43

And may I add... http://pics.lockerz.com/gallery/4477163

Makes me feel really quite stalkery. I havent been wasting half the day on Oscar admiring....honest

MrsOscarPistorius Tue 18-Sep-12 15:46:44

susitwoshoes I am stalking him all over the internet following him on Twitter, he is back in UK to get honorary degree in Glasgow in November, but athletics season over I think til next year sad

GreatGretzky Tue 18-Sep-12 16:10:05

There's also Instagram
I'm not wasting my day admiring him either, I promise!

susitwoshoes Tue 18-Sep-12 16:54:49

hmmm, I have relations in Glasgow <ponders excuse worthy of a 41-year-old that doesn't sound like I'm drooling over a man nigh on half my age>

susitwoshoes Tue 18-Sep-12 16:55:45

I was almost thinking of signing up to Twitter just so I could stalk follow him too

AmIthatbad Tue 18-Sep-12 17:38:21

I had a hardly used twitter account, but I've reactivated it grin

RedBlanket Tue 18-Sep-12 17:39:47

Oh I love Tumblr, but its such a time suck, I can spend hours trawling through all the crazy teen blogs.

AmIthatbad Tue 18-Sep-12 17:56:43

I've been home from work for 20 mins and spent the entire time looking at the pics. Lockerz is very good. Must go and sort dinner, but will come back later.

Does anyone know when he is in Glasgow for the graduation? I might do some early Christmas shopping and be in the vicinity grin

SpitTheDog Tue 18-Sep-12 18:23:36

I must join tumblr. Lockerz is great though isn't it.

I wonder what he smells like.

Have any of you come across his Thierry Mugler fragrance? I wonder if that's what he actually smells like...

SpitTheDog Tue 18-Sep-12 18:28:15

And did you see we got a mention on the Page 3 thread blush?

Meglet Tue 18-Sep-12 18:41:46

spit I was on the page 3 thread having signed up to the petition. Then it dawned on me we were over here merrily gawping at half nekkid photos of men. Was that why we were mentioned?

It's not in a family newspaper though is it. <<justifies self>>

SpitTheDog Tue 18-Sep-12 18:53:38

meglet I was just the same, signed the petition. I do think its different, in lots of ways (I guess I should post them on that thread)... And I thought we're quite restrained compared to the Justin thread...!

No exciting pics but here's a short but sweet article on the fragrance.

We're famous! On the page 3 thread and
Everything! Seriously Oscar has agreed to these video and photo shoots (the sexy ones anyway) so surely he has consented to being seen as a sex god and we are free to enjoy his fine form.

AmIthatbad Tue 18-Sep-12 18:54:38

No justification need Meglet.

Are we getting a slagging grin

<goes off to look at P3 thread>

AmIthatbad Tue 18-Sep-12 18:57:02

grin Spit I was wondering about the smell as well - pretty important to me that people smell clean.

He looks very, very clean, and I thought he woud smell like a mixture of lemon and cut grass.

Meglet Tue 18-Sep-12 20:31:17

Funnily enough I've worn womens Angel for years (although slightly grown out of it now and replaced with Tom Ford, who is also v.v. handsome but very much on the other bus). It's chocolately / caramelly. Very much a love it or hate it scent.

From what I could see we didn't get a slagging on the page 3 thread, one of them seemed to agree with us grin.

I've worn angel since I was 19. 13 years
<trend setter emoticon>

TheSmallClanger Tue 18-Sep-12 21:36:09

According to that link, this version of A*Men hasn't got the sweet smells in it. The original A*Men was very similar to Angel, and rather overpowering.

On the subject of what Oscar smells like, he was talking in one of those videos posted earlier about how his shoes never, ever smell, and how he can get away with wearing the same pair of socks for three weeks.

Greg Rutherford has the same clean, soapy look as Oscar. Some of the other track and field guys certainly don't.

GreatGretzky Tue 18-Sep-12 21:47:27

Oh I didn't know we'd been mentioned on the Page 3 thread! <off to have a look>

SpitTheDog Tue 18-Sep-12 22:28:14

I wonder if this is his girlfriend, or just a friend...? Hmmm.

SpitTheDog Tue 18-Sep-12 22:42:17

Girlfriend!

She looks nice too. Lucky thing.

GreatGretzky Tue 18-Sep-12 22:43:44

I think she is his girlfriend, there was a post on the fuckyeahoscarpistorius tumblr that linked to a post of his saying that he couldn't wait to be back home spending time with her. Lucky girl!

GreatGretzky Tue 18-Sep-12 22:44:09

Ooh x-post!

CuriousMama Tue 18-Sep-12 23:08:34

shock I'd never heard of him until now but he looks so much like my friends dh and is around the same age. I wonder if she's ever noticed? I couldn't fancy him for that reason alone, damn her dh! wink

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Wed 19-Sep-12 06:47:10

Oooooh GG! What a lovely photo...that wonky smile.
Another one here thinking of joining Twitter just because.....blush

RedBlanket Wed 19-Sep-12 15:38:25

You don't have to join twitter it's all open. Same goes for Tumblr.

GreatGretzky Thu 20-Sep-12 10:36:19

He's making me so jealous with all of his pictures from the Seychelles...I want to go!

AmIthatbad Thu 20-Sep-12 19:42:37

My book arrived today!!!!!!!! It's quite short, so wll probably finish it off tonight.

I need to start snapping out of this and get on with my life, but the seemingly limitless supply of pics just draws me in.

He was quite cute when he was a bit younger, but he really has blossomed into a stunningly beautiful looking man.

I love him grin

I feel deprived having been enrolling in uni, too busy to follow him as much as I'd like. <stalker>

AmIthatbad Thu 20-Sep-12 21:11:36

I am so totally a stalker now. i seem to know everything about him and am kicking myself for not paying more attention to him earlier.

Thank fuck for youtube is all I can say.

Meglet Thu 20-Sep-12 22:13:34

I'll be glad when he's finished his holiday and is in training again. Am getting a bit too envy of all the blue sea and sandy beach pics. I want running tracks and sweat <<ahem>>.

SpitTheDog Thu 20-Sep-12 22:14:19

I'm still obsessed too, haha!

My favourite clips are the Oakley Beyond Reason one and the Nike Always On, can't drag myself away from them.

Oh Oscarrrrrr.

Also, I love the way he says 'ah-billy-tis' grin

SpitTheDog Thu 20-Sep-12 22:22:46

Yeah, the beaches look beautiful but I want pics of Oscar wearing not very much coming out the sea all wet etc. grin

Harumph.

GreatGretzky Thu 20-Sep-12 22:27:25

grin at 'ah-billy-tis'...ahhh that ceent!

GreatGretzky Thu 20-Sep-12 22:27:45

WTF is a 'ceent' hmm that was meant to say accent!

TheSmallClanger Thu 20-Sep-12 22:28:00

There is one pic on there where he appears to be all wet. Fully clothed, but all wet.

How's this for sad: tomorrow, on my break at work, I'm heading over to the perfume shop in the terminal to see what Oscar-flavoured A*Men smells like.blush I will pretend I am looking for a present for my DH, who does not wear aftershave and actually really hates perfume on anyone.

Work is a bit boring at the moment...

GreatGretzky Thu 20-Sep-12 22:39:20

Not sad at all Clanger, as long as you report back to us and tell us what it's like grin

AmIthatbad Thu 20-Sep-12 22:49:42

Clanger...full respect from Pistorians. Nothing remotely sad about it. You are doing it for us grin

I am thinking about buying it to cough assist with my fantasising. grin There, I've outed myself as a Pistoriphile

He is so very young, but so very handsome.

I wonder if dh would like a bottle as a Xmas present?

That accent is divine. gringringringrin

GreatGretzky Fri 21-Sep-12 14:27:55

Aww, teenage schoolboy Oscar He's definitely matured into a fine young man!

RedBlanket Fri 21-Sep-12 16:43:41

Teenage hair! looks like hes spent hours making it look like he's just got out of bed <old gimmer>

Oh god that hair! Tragic! Teenage hair is a terrible thing.

AmIthatbad Fri 21-Sep-12 19:49:37

grin Real surfer dude, plus "rebel" school tie all squint

He really has improved with age.

I had a wee look at Thierry Mugler site, nice video showing the making of the ad

RedBlanket Fri 21-Sep-12 20:32:24

I used to get up at 630 on Saturday morning to 'style' my perfectly normal straight bob into a birds nest creation that made me look like I'd been sleeping rough. How ironic that a few decades years later I always look like I've just got out of bed.

Is the Thierry Mugler the silver pants ad?

JillJ72 Fri 21-Sep-12 20:39:04

This thread has made me smile. Thanks ladies, good to know we have impeccable taste wine

Meglet Fri 21-Sep-12 21:28:31

Should we get this moved to sport and fitness, or would they kick us out for lowering the tone wink.

TheSmallClanger Fri 21-Sep-12 21:42:06

I have smelt Eau de Oscar. It is a fresh sort of scent, much nicer than the original Thierry M men's fragrance. Someone mentioned cut grass and lemons upthread, and it's a bit like that.

I had a very pointless amusing escapade in the perfume shop, drawing the attention of two shop assistants. I could have just said "is this the new Thierry Mugler men's one, the one with the attractive South African runner in the advert? Can I have a sniff, because it sounds as if it's my DH's sort of thing?" That would be a lie, but it would have worked. Instead, I mumbled something non-committal, paranoid that the assistant knew I was only doing it for the benefit of my lecherous friends on the internet, then when the second assistant came along, feigned interest in Valentino Valentina, sprayed it all over myself, then dropped the metal lid of the bottle on the floor with a loud clang.

Everyone has been complaining all afternoon about me honking of perfume.

RedBlanket Fri 21-Sep-12 22:06:33

Meglet - if it gets moves to sports we'd have to start discussing split times, protein shakes and hamstrings and such like. grin

He probably smells of sweaty track suits most of the time.

GreatGretzky Fri 21-Sep-12 22:07:59

grin three cheers for Clanger! I'm glad it's a nice fresh smell...might have to convince DH he wants some!

It does need moving or it'll go poof!

Thierry Mugler is the silver pants add. I may love it slightly. gringringringringrin

Well done Clanger, good work.

GreatGretzky Fri 21-Sep-12 22:11:36

We can't have the thread going poof later on! It's my favourite thread!

Re-watching the TM ad now...mmm, silver pants...

AmIthatbad Fri 21-Sep-12 22:20:11

silver, plus the damp curls. Very nice. I said lemon and cut grass - I must try to get my hands on some grin

I'm off now to do some internet stalking hunting - I still can't find the last part of The Fastest Man on No Legs. Plus I think there may be a Question of Sport episode somewhere

Meglet Fri 21-Sep-12 22:20:53

red I can whitter on about my (crap) running sessions if it will help sneak us into S&E. I did manage a 30min run last weekend. I'll be up for the 2016 Olympics at this rate.

It can't go in Sleb twaddle that's for sure. We're not talking about a mere reality TV, C-lister here.

SpitTheDog Fri 21-Sep-12 22:26:43

Hurrah for Clanger! It sounds quite nice. Definitely got to seek it out now, I wonder if its in Boots.

Actually I'm not so keen on the TM ad, I think its his hair, it almost doesn't look like him. Maybe its just me.

Howabout asking for this thread to go into Other Stuff/Other Subjects? Not sure if that's the best place...?

TheSmallClanger Fri 21-Sep-12 22:29:12

The last bit of The Fastest Man On No Legs is definitely on YT. I've watched it. It has Oscar staring wistfully at the building site that will later become the Olympic stadium, which makes you want to shout back through time at him, "Oscar! Use the force sweetheart! You're going to make it!"

I'll try and find it for you.

He wears the silver pants in the heat shoot that is on YouTube. Yum. grin

SpitTheDog Fri 21-Sep-12 22:31:59

Ha, doesn't one of those tumblr sites call him The Most Beautiful Human Being on the Planet, or something like that. Sleb twaddle is not worthy!

SpitTheDog Fri 21-Sep-12 22:35:24

Don't get me wrong I do like the silver pants grin.

The Heat shoot makes me laugh (amongst other things). Ginger Kringer!

Heat shoot is great. gringrin

RedBlanket Fri 21-Sep-12 22:48:06

I can talk about my crap running too, but I think it would be stretching it to call it sport!
I think I saw the Thierry Mugler behind the scenes thing on Daily motion, but I can't remember what it was called.

AmIthatbad Fri 21-Sep-12 23:13:54

That would be great if you could find it. I have got up to him in his hotel room in Sheffield (?) looking at the rain and saying that it doesn't look good for him

Just watched a good interview on a channel called Sportsvibe, where he is in the Olympic stadium, a year ago, while they were still working on it. He was over for the BT paralympic world championship.

He was very lovely in it, talking about his horses, only getting to go biking from Sep-Dec, what he likes about Italy, his skills at packing, etc.

I'm loving this crush, it takes my mind off crap in RL.

GreatGretzky Fri 21-Sep-12 23:26:46

I know the Sportsvibe one you mean! I love when he's talking about owning racehorses so the woman asks if he rides, "no! I'm terrified of them" grin clever man, I always say there's something scary about horses!

GothAnneGeddes Sat 22-Sep-12 01:09:54

This is probably a bit, if not very sad, but...

My Dad picked me and DD up from the train station today, he asked how I was and I said "Oh, I've got a new love in my life (meaning the car I'm getting) and my dad said "Oh, you mean Oscar Pistorius?". I was blush. It must have been my impassioned defence of him when I visited them during the Paralympics.

Yy to loving this thread. It must be preserved!

Check out twitter this morning. Could I love the man anymore?

Ahhhhh sigh.

SpitTheDog Sat 22-Sep-12 10:54:46

Oscar + little dog + kisses = heart melt...

SpitTheDog Sat 22-Sep-12 11:25:49

I've had to tell my DH of my obsession, it was only a matter of time before he borrowed my pc, and I didn't want him to get a big shock from seeing about 7 tabs open all on different Oscar things, ha ha.

He thinks Oscar has got a 'friendly face' smile

AmIthatbad Sat 22-Sep-12 11:36:47

grin DD now looks at my ever changing desktop background and just says "oh, no, not Oscar again" "Do you love him, Mum".

This morning has been a very rare sunny day, so I have been sitting in the garden reading his book. Boy was he a cute, cute baby.

GreatGretzky Sat 22-Sep-12 14:20:44

DD always wants to see the latest pictures I have saved. She calls him 'pretty Oscar' grin Do wish she wouldn't keep asking me if I want to kiss him though blush Yes I do and so much more than just kiss him

TheSmallClanger Sat 22-Sep-12 15:40:03

Ahem:
Oscar on the Italian version of Strictly!

Lots of adorable wonky smiles, some dancing action and a very alluring slinky black outfit...

SpitTheDog Sat 22-Sep-12 16:26:19

AmI that sounds bliss.

I was wondering earlier if he'd been on Top Gear... Star in a Car would be his kind of thing I think? As he seems to like cars/speed a lot. Maybe worth a request to the BBC...

Was wondering the same thing spit. Clarkson is on twitter, maybe we could mass tweet him! grin

GreatGretzky Sat 22-Sep-12 19:01:56

Ooh I like dancing Oscar. I like it a lot!

He'd be great on Top Gear!

GreatGretzky Sat 22-Sep-12 19:17:55

I remember someone posted about the Thierry Mugler video on Dailymotion the other day but didn't have the title, is this the one? Just found it, he comes across so well! Always seems so laid back and fun to work with

susitwoshoes Sat 22-Sep-12 20:12:20

ahhh, that one's lovely GG! He always seems to want to do his best, whatever it is, and always has a smile and a nice word to say, when it's got to be boring as fuck doing all those interviews. Loving his new puppy too!

SpitTheDog Sat 22-Sep-12 23:45:49

This video is good!

He's studying for his pilot's licence!
He wants to study architecture!
He likes silver cars!
You can see his dogs and a little bit of his house!
There is a fantastic shot of his bum half way through!

grin

GreatGretzky Sun 23-Sep-12 00:51:40

Great find! Nice bum shot grin and I love those dogs! Also love how he never seems to back down from anything. Scared of heights? Learn to fly! What a great attitude.

GreatGretzky Sun 23-Sep-12 14:51:12

He's tweeted about spending the day in bed again...Oscar let me join you! Doesn't he realise what these tweets do to women?!

GothAnneGeddes Sun 23-Sep-12 14:59:26

I was a bit curious as to what the other books on his shelves were, you can tell a lot about them by their choice of reading material.

TheSmallClanger Sun 23-Sep-12 16:43:40

We need the Esper image-enhancing machine from Blade Runner (see what I did there?).

Oscar would LOVE my dogs, going by his choice of pets. If I had moved to East Africa when I had the chance, I could have been in the RSA now, gorgeous, fit 400m runners stopping to stroke my doggies as we walk along a sun-dappled trail. Instead, I have to trog up a rainy hill with the hounds, with the occasional lost hiker for company.

The choices we make...

GothAnneGeddes Sun 23-Sep-12 18:20:00

This article www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-2197873/London-2012-Paralympics-Oscar-Pistorius-taken-defeat-stride--Jonathan-McEvoy.html (Daily Fail, sorry) mentions that Oscar has quite a lot of weaponry in his house, not sure I'd fancy living in South Africa, Italy on the other hand...

TheSmallClanger Sun 23-Sep-12 19:36:25

I suspect that journo doesn't know what a machine gun is.

It is true about South Africans and weapons in the house though, I lived with a Saffa for a while at university and he was completely aghast that keeping loaded guns in the house was illegal, especially as we lived in a really rough area. He made do with an aluminium baseball bat that he'd somehow sneaked into the country.

AmIthatbad Mon 24-Sep-12 09:12:13

You've probably seen it, but on the italian SCD, there is also a very long intro bit where the italian tess - or she is really brucie - interviews him. He gets a standing ovation when he arrives. I cant speak italian, but he looks very sexy but also quite
overcome.

Peachesplusone Mon 24-Sep-12 10:21:15

Oh I'm so glad I found this thread! An opportunity to feed my Oscar obsession amongst like- minded pervs people, whilst also providing some reassurance that my internet stalkery is all completely normal.

Peachesplusone Mon 24-Sep-12 10:23:25

Oh I'm so glad I found this thread! An opportunity to feed my Oscar obsession amongst like- minded pervs people, whilst also providing some reassurance that my internet stalkery is all completely normal.

YouSexyBeauty Mon 24-Sep-12 16:07:55

Ooh, I haven't seen that bit of Italian SCD, so will search it out.

And a machine gun? Yikes.

Oh, and I'm SpittheDog - have namechanged in homage (not sure if that's grammatical?!)...

GothAnneGeddes Mon 24-Sep-12 16:15:28

Is it sad I got the reference straight away ? smile

YouSexyBeauty Mon 24-Sep-12 16:16:22

No, you are a true Pistorian!

ThursdayWillBeTheDay Mon 24-Sep-12 17:12:02

When the feck was he on Italian Strictly??? (I live in Italy for fuxache, how did I miss that????) angry

Meglet Mon 24-Sep-12 17:51:47

I thought my crush had settled down and then he posted that bed pic yesterday.

AmIthatbad Mon 24-Sep-12 20:39:27

my gift to you

He is gorgeous here

GreatGretzky Mon 24-Sep-12 21:18:25

grin loving the namechange YouSexyBeauty

And loving the full Strictly video too! DH is asking what's making me smile so much. "Oh just cute videos..." I think he thinks it's kittens and puppies grin

RedBlanket Mon 24-Sep-12 21:36:29

Bless him, he's dreadful! I love that his partner is telling him what to do all the way through.

He's very lovely though.

TheSmallClanger Mon 24-Sep-12 22:12:16

You can see he goes quite wrong very near the beginning, and starts giggling. He is an endearingly crap dancer, but the wonky smile and low-cut t-shirt make up for it.

I have had nothing better to do and have given the "machine gun" issue some thought. I bet it was a large, old semi-automatic rifle with a big ammo magazine - the sort of thing that game rangers carry about with them. They are widely available in Kenya and Tanzania, so can probably be bought in petrol stations in South Africa. I worked in East Africa for a while, and I used to be a referee for shooting competitions.

Life in South Africa does sound a bit like being a character in a JG Ballard novel.

He's lovely. grin

YouSexyBeauty Tue 25-Sep-12 13:08:15

I'm guessing you've seen the Venice Marathon clip on YouTube?

He is really wonderful isn't he.

From what I can see he's the perfect man..! Can't think of one negative.

YouSexyBeauty Tue 25-Sep-12 13:13:06

Had a quick think - on Twitter he spells neighbour 'naighbor'. But that's it! And that's quite endearing anyway. So back to no faults at all!

Peachesplusone Tue 25-Sep-12 16:10:14

Aw, the Strictly video is my new favourite thing! I love it when he's being all endearingly shy and bumbling.
And "under table" dealings makes me snigger everytime!

GreatGretzky Tue 25-Sep-12 16:16:23

I love the Venice clip! He's so smiley! When he lets go of Zanardi's chair grin

AmIthatbad Tue 25-Sep-12 22:30:29

I have had so much to do, and couldn't wait to get back to my laptop

Yousexybeauty I'm very, very envy at your name. Wish I'd thought of it. Re the "naighbour" thing, I wondered ifmaybe English wasn't his first language?

While obsessively stalking earlier I found a video of him being interviewed on an Afrikaaner show, and he was very animated - lots of Achs and Ochs grin He almost sounded Scottish smile

and the Venice clip is good - and he is one of his heros too

GreatGretzky Tue 25-Sep-12 23:11:27
Meglet Tue 25-Sep-12 23:18:24

I've lost track of whether anyone has posted this before. He is quite beautiful.

Ossur video

My running speed is his slow jogging, and I'm usually fiddling with my ipod trying to find a song I like.

GothAnneGeddes Tue 25-Sep-12 23:18:48

His Mum spoke English and his Dad + dad's family speak Afrikaans, so he grew up speaking both.

He also went to a private English-language high school, so has no excuse for naighbour ;)

AmIthatbad Wed 26-Sep-12 00:50:34

Yes, about the schooling - although from what I've read, he probably spent more time at school doing sports, than concentrating on English

Have I mentioned today that I love him grin

GreatGretzky Wed 26-Sep-12 19:43:40

Can't link, I'm on my iPod but check his twitter! Nice topless picture smile And he's getting a new tattoo (Olympic rings) I do like a man with tattoos.

AmIthatbad Wed 26-Sep-12 20:26:07

this one GG?

Very nice

AmIthatbad Wed 26-Sep-12 20:52:06
GreatGretzky Wed 26-Sep-12 20:53:17

That's the one, thanks for posting!

He's just added this as well...love that he's taken his shirt off for an arm tattoo instead of wearing a vest grin I'm not complaining!

RedBlanket Wed 26-Sep-12 21:06:34

He's not shy is he?

Meglet - I don't really do much cooling down after a run, I might have to watc that video again and again for some stretching techniques. wink

So which one of you did this?

Not me but we'll done whoever mumsnetters that did!

I'm too mesh for tats. Dh has lots. grin

TheSmallClanger Wed 26-Sep-12 22:37:57

I can't see it. What have we/you/someone done/said to Oscar's Twitter?

I assume that the tattoo studio was quite warm inside, being in Africa and all. Either that, or Oscar didn't want to get blood or ink on any of his vests - both are an absolute bugger to wash out. grin

Oscar being all serious (and Lycra-clad) for another photoshoot

GreatGretzky Wed 26-Sep-12 22:55:54

I can't see it either sad

I hope he posts another tattoo pic once it's healed and looking all lovely...

AmIthatbad Wed 26-Sep-12 23:21:27

I'm not sure, as the link takes you to the twitter page, but there was a retweet from a woman who had "I have two disabilities. I have millions of abilities" tattoed on her arm, with OP's name underneath. He appeared to like it grin

AmIthatbad Wed 26-Sep-12 23:22:49

smallclanger I clicked on your link, and that was me off again for the night. I can just go from one video to the next, and before I know it, the night has gone.

GreatGretzky Wed 26-Sep-12 23:38:47

Ohh I did see that! smile

I've just started watching the half hour interview with him and Colin Jackson...not sure I can take half an hour of Jackson but I'll try my best!

GothAnneGeddes Thu 27-Sep-12 01:29:59

Today has been a very good day on twitter grin

RedBlanket Thu 27-Sep-12 08:02:57

That was me sorry, i posted a mobile twitter link as I'm on my phone, maybe that's why you can't see it if you're on a laptop.

GreatGretzky Thu 27-Sep-12 12:23:02

Hmm he's tweeted this morning about packing for Scotland...we know he's there in November but looks like he might be there sooner than that!

AmIthatbad Thu 27-Sep-12 12:34:07

I need to check the date for Glasgow, as I think I will go over and try and get a glimpse

bananaistheanswer Thu 27-Sep-12 12:42:42

shock he's going to be within a mile of where I live when he's here. grin I might just have to stalk find out more about his stay when here. I should know better than this - I'm way past the schoolgirl crush stage of life. But, there is something just adoreable about him isn't there?

Ephiny Thu 27-Sep-12 12:48:22

I am blaming this thread for the, er, interesting dream I had last night blush

That was unexpected.

AmIthatbad Thu 27-Sep-12 16:06:49

Oh, please do share grin

bananaistheanswer Thu 27-Sep-12 16:31:01

Just been mulling over this - his twitter says he's packing for Scotland right now. His honorary degree won't be presented until 12th November. Does this mean he is going to be in Scotland for a while? Like, arriving in a few days, and staying 'til the degree ceremony? I can easily put him up for a few days forever if he'd prefer more homely comforts. grin

TheSmallClanger Thu 27-Sep-12 22:45:48

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl3BbjNtk0U

Can't answer the Scottish question, but here's Oscar on some sort of Lost-esque Italian game show. Plenty of footage of him running as a chubby-cheeked teen, too.

TheSmallClanger Thu 27-Sep-12 22:46:17
GreatGretzky Thu 27-Sep-12 22:55:09

I love that video!

Finished tattoo picture

GreatGretzky Thu 27-Sep-12 23:00:17

Scottish Pistorians! He's coming to you on Sunday! Playing at the Dunhill Links golf championship...oh Oscar, why golf?!

AmIthatbad Thu 27-Sep-12 23:05:15

Great clip, he really puts his all into things, doesn't he

TheSmallClanger Fri 28-Sep-12 10:54:10

Gretzky, why did you have to tell me that?

I can turn a blind eye to the Christianity, the poor spelling and the slightly iffy dress sense at times, but golf is A Step Too Far.

I'm hoping it's for charity.

AmIthatbad Fri 28-Sep-12 14:46:36

Im near st andrews. There's nothing on the website about him. Will try and get tickets

Peachesplusone Fri 28-Sep-12 15:26:58

The players list is dated Sept 2011 - perhaps a typo or perhaps they haven't updated it with this years players yet?

It's being broadcast on Sky next week if anyone wants to sit through hours of tedium for a quick glimpse.

AmIthatbad Fri 28-Sep-12 18:20:57

I don't have Sky. I was going to see if I could find out when he was playing and go down to see him, as it is pretty close to where I live

GothAnneGeddes Fri 28-Sep-12 18:23:16
Peachesplusone Fri 28-Sep-12 18:40:07

Ooh, I'm very jealous of you being so close! I'd be there like a shot for the chance to see him in the flesh, even if he is wearing plus fours and brogues. You must try for a ticket, it's your duty!

AmIthatbad Fri 28-Sep-12 19:14:36

Well, I am at work Thursday and Friday, but I think I will do some unashamed stalking next weekend. Once I see the draw.

I have been offered tickets for this in the past and never bothered. They're only £15 for the final day though.

And you're right Peaches.......it is, indeed, my duty grin

<wonders where he might be staying, wondering if it is in Perth, and wondering if I should drive round the hotels in the city>

AmIthatbad Fri 28-Sep-12 19:16:08

Thanks GG, although my attention was drawn to that lovely bristly chin <sigh and swoon>

TheSmallClanger Fri 28-Sep-12 22:07:58

I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears and go LA LA LA LA LA for about a week, until the pictures of Oscar with cute animals and preferably, Oscar in sweaty skintight nylon reappear!

GothAnneGeddes Fri 28-Sep-12 22:28:21

He'll be in a v nice hotel and will probably give it a mention on Twitter, so I'm sure you'll be able to track him down ;)

GreatGretzky Fri 28-Sep-12 23:00:37

TheSmallClanger Here you go, lycra AND a cute animal!

It's ok e has no idea how to play golf according to his latest tweet. Phew!

<stalker>

Meglet Sat 29-Sep-12 14:56:39

When do athletes start training again? In the New Year?

I'm bored with golf and holidays Oscar. I like running and tattooed Oscar best.

GreatGretzky Sat 29-Sep-12 15:57:51

I think training starts in December and competitions in March

AmIthatbad Sat 29-Sep-12 18:30:14

I am scared at how obsessed I am. I thought I would have lost interest by now, but actually I am getting deeper into him.

I've just finished his book - it was an interesting story, but it was quite mixed up in places and the language was very strange. No surprise, as a previous poster had pointed out that it was translated from Italian.

GothAnneGeddes Mon 01-Oct-12 15:41:59
RedBlanket Mon 01-Oct-12 17:29:52

Attention Scottish people stalkers he's nearly here

TheSmallClanger Mon 01-Oct-12 18:09:12

I'm so glad someone's brought this up again. All morning at work I have been livening up the dullness by inventing a scenario where a plane has to divert to my work on its way to Edinburgh. I would then call up the details and put out an alert to the customs agents that I had had a solid tipoff from a reliable source that there was a px on board smuggling endangered species on his person. All I know about this px is that he is male and a South African national, and is apparently fairly recognisable due to his prosthetic limbs. If he passes through, they are not to arouse his suspicions and they are to BRING HIM TO ME IMMEDIATELY so that I can perform a proper search without the endangered species (someone said something about a very rare African Freckle-Backed Fox, apparently a beautiful critter) escaping and either terrorising other px, or the cargo handlers who are notoriously shit with things like that.

Didn't happen. Maybe one day. Always best to be prepared.

GothAnneGeddes Mon 01-Oct-12 18:47:30

SmallClanger- I love the effort and detail that had gone into that scenario grin.

For non-Scottish stalkers, Channel 4 are showing a 5 minute feature on the Paralympics every night this week at 7.55, Oscar's is on Friday.

AmIthatbad Mon 01-Oct-12 19:30:45

grin Yes maybe one day. I do think that after you had searched this passenger, you would have to get a second, third and fourth opinion on whether he was a risk or not. Tis only fair. smile

I am working all week, but intend to do some stalking sightseeing this weekend. Will take my Blade Runner book in my bag just in case - he could have a car breakdown, or come and visit Perth for the day:-)

My friend works for KLM in going to put her on alert for his return. grin she can get his picture an autograph for me. (Yeah some hope eh?)

GreatGretzky Mon 01-Oct-12 21:30:41

grin at TheSmallClanger's scenario

Looking forward to the Channel 4 thing on Friday, that lovely face and lovely voice will be on tv again!

TheSmallClanger Mon 01-Oct-12 21:36:32

I promise that if he is diverted by us at any time, I will find an excuse to detain him under suspicion of breaking CITES rules. For ages. I'd be terribly nice and apologetic about it, bring him cups of tea and let him look at the doggies and kitties in the Pet Passport Scheme holding area, although this isn't actually meant to be allowed. I would certainly consider calling in some experienced questioners to get to the bottom of the story I'd heard about the African Freckle-Backed Fox.wink

Unfortunately I would not be permitted to strip-search him as that has to be done by a male officer.

AmIthatbad Mon 01-Oct-12 21:56:48

If I stuck on a false moustache and lowered my voice, would you let me do it?

You could make sure that he looked at lots of low to the ground animals, those he'd have to bend down to look at. You could stand behind him to make sure he didn't escape or anything.

TheSmallClanger Mon 01-Oct-12 22:26:00

I was planning on the male officer taking his time to arrive. "I'm sorry sir, but I can't be sure you haven't got a critically-endangered mammal down your underwear. You'll have to stay here, with me, until my male colleague arrives to do the strip search. What's that sir? You're meant to be in Edinburgh? Yes, I know, I'm really sorry, but the detector dog at Amsterdam Schiphol is never wrong. You didn't see the detector dog? Oh well, that detector dog, it's in and out before you know it. Fastest detector dog in the biz, we haven't got anything like that over here. Tell you what, I'll get the canteen to bring you a sandwich, a nice one I promise, then I'll introduce you to the bull terrier pup staying next door. It's really not so bad here once you get used to the wee smell".

I have far too much time on my hands.

Meglet Mon 01-Oct-12 23:21:12

LOL at you lot planning your Oscar stalking grin.

I was pondering whether he would do the BT games in Manchester next year. From what I understand it's an annual event. If I can get tickets for that it would make up for missing him at the stadium last month, we had a morning session (it was brilliant!) but Oscar only did evenings because he's a star <<pah>>.

Being in manchester gringrin I will be buying tickets. DH wants to see johnnie peacock. Convenient cover for my stalking .

GreatGretzky Tue 02-Oct-12 01:29:00

Meglet We had morning tickets as well. But we were luck enough to see him with the rest of the South African relay team collecting their medals! No one really knew that ceremony was coming so when he came out you heard everyone gasp and go "it's OSCAR!" grin

This is the video that's gonna be on C4 on Friday, if anyone wants to see it early!

GothAnneGeddes Tue 02-Oct-12 01:47:07

<Sigh> thanks GG. Am hoping for some nice dreams now.

RedBlanket Tue 02-Oct-12 08:32:12

The games are sponsored by BT aren't they so he probably has to
Go as part of his sponsorship deal. The DCs will love it, which will be my convenient cover having previously said that athletics is boring (well the heats are a bit).
grin at gasp it's Oscar! There's a video on YT someone had taken from the crowd at the relay and as soon as he starts running the last leg the crowd just goes wild. It's amazing considering he's not one of us!

catstail Tue 02-Oct-12 09:28:55

anyone got links to the medal ceremonies for relay, 400m and the other one?

GreatGretzky Tue 02-Oct-12 11:16:07

400m ceremony It's emotional! He's nearly in tears bless him.
Can't find the others though...

GothAnneGeddes Tue 02-Oct-12 11:31:57

They are all on the Channel 4 paralympics website, but you have to look for them by the day they happened and then fish through.

New pictures on twitter. I don't like golf Oscar.

Too covered up. grin

GothAnneGeddes Tue 02-Oct-12 17:25:43

He looks freezing. Poor bloke.

RedBlanket Tue 02-Oct-12 17:32:20

Do you think they have to play over the bridge like in crazy golf?

I didn't see the relay medal ceremony. Ill have to have a look later on my pc.

TheSmallClanger Tue 02-Oct-12 17:53:00

Oscar, you were certainly not born to wear anoraks and dog walking trousers and trudge round in rainy places. It is very unbecoming, my darling.wink

The acceptable face of covered-up Oscar

RedBlanket Tue 02-Oct-12 18:13:14

And golf shoes! I might have to demote him into number 2 sexiest sportsman (behind Camille whatshisname the french swimmer).

What's the betting that his girlfriend hasn't joined him on this trip? 'oh I'd love to come but I used up all my holidays in the Seychelles. What a shame I love watching golf in the freezing cold driving rain'.

Poor bloke, imagine leaving SA for wet, cold Scotland. Poor baby.

AmIthatbad Tue 02-Oct-12 20:54:18

GG that C4 clip brought a tear to my eye - it was very touching.

Been pissing down here today - perfect weather for golf grin

Was speaking to some colleagues today who have been at the Dunhill before and they said that you get really close to the players.

I can only go on Saturday, so am eagerly awaiting the draw to see where he is playing. I wonder if they can sign autographs , or if that is not sporting and might put them off

<panics at lack of golfing protocol knowledge>

I still love him, even covered up smile

Take photos. lots of them. it's your duty!

are we going to get this thread moved then?

GreatGretzky Wed 03-Oct-12 13:09:46

AmI he jut retweeted this: '@OscarPistorius partners #RyderCup vice-captain @pmggolf for the @dunhilllinks They play here at the #OldCourse #StAL on Sat' is that good for you? Hope it is! smile

I hope the thread does get moved...I'm not really sure how you go about asking though!

I think we new to report it and ask that way. I'll do it now.

KatMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 03-Oct-12 15:09:00

OscarPistoriusGirlfriend

I think we new to report it and ask that way. I'll do it now.

Hi there, we've moved this into Sleb Twaddle now. Thanks.

GreatGretzky Wed 03-Oct-12 16:32:31

We've been moved! Thanks MNHQ! smile

RedBlanket Wed 03-Oct-12 18:02:17

Aahh. Sleb twaddle, my natural home <adjusts my brow very low>

GothAnneGeddes Wed 03-Oct-12 18:40:57

While it's very nice to have been moved, so that all our lovely links can be perserved...

Sleb twaddle?!

This is a serious thread about the serious business of appreciating a serious athlete! [Wink]

AmIthatbad Wed 03-Oct-12 19:55:26

Waaaaaahhhh. We've moved shock

I checked the match times on Dunhill site. St Andrew's on Saturday, teeing off at 11am, which is perfect.

I would have probably preferred Carnoustie, but I am determined to go, regardless of the weather.

I am unbelievably, excited, yet also nervous. I will have to take DD and have never tried this before, so hope I don't stick out like a sore thumb.

<curses having to work full-time and not having any spare annual leave left to go Thursday and Friday as well sad >

AmIthatbad Wed 03-Oct-12 19:56:20

I don't think I knew this section existed

TheSmallClanger Wed 03-Oct-12 20:15:50

I envy you your Oscar-spotting, but I have come to the conclusion that playing golf is not something you can do and look attractive at the same time. A bit like vigorously brushing your teeth, or plunging a blocked sink.

I have started doing weightlifting at the gym, and the instructor always says "if you're standing there thinking 'oh my god I look like a complete dick' then you are doing it properly". I think golf is the same.

Excuse the DM link - Oscar looking a bit chilly in a stripy jumper

Meglet Wed 03-Oct-12 21:30:15

ooo, we have a new home.

You know what's really sad. I have only ever managed to be a 'member' of 2 MN thread quiches. 'My' ante+post-natal one and this, I failed miserably on credit crunch and good housekeeping.

2 quiches is plenty IMO.

GreatGretzky Wed 03-Oct-12 22:15:24

Glad you can go AmI! Make sure you get pictures for us --some bum ones please--wink

GreatGretzky Wed 03-Oct-12 22:16:03

Ahh crap, always mess up the strikethrough!

Yes bum ones are imperative! In fact you need a banner with we love Oscar on it signed the MN Pistorians. grin

AmIthatbad Wed 03-Oct-12 22:59:56

Meglet you might have a limited quiche membership portfolio grin but I recognise your name from LP threads, and think you are top notch.

And if this is a new quiche, then it is the best one ever and I am extremely proud to belong.

In a face off between Oscar P and someone like B Cummberbund, then there is no competition.

......and I will take as many photos as I can

My Dad was saying tonight that he has been before and you can more or less follow your chosen players around for over 2 hours and get right up close. I am so nervous, but hope that the other spectators are there for the Ryder Cup players and some footballers and would leave the luscious OP to me

Meglet Thu 04-Oct-12 00:45:31

Oh yes, I get all tsk-y at the Cummerband stuff. Does he have any gold medals? Does he get half nekkid when he gets tattooed? Not that I've noticed.

Therefore Oscar wins the 'most fanciable male' contest hands down.

Amithatbad how exciting! Maybe a 48hr crash course in golf rules is needed.

GothAnneGeddes Thu 04-Oct-12 01:44:51

Also, Oscar cuddles wild animals, Cummerband looks like one: redscharlach.tumblr.com/post/19565284869/otters-who-look-like-benedict-cumberbatch-a

GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 02:54:23

Huge picture from the press conference. Can't get to sleep tonight but I'm sure I'll have lovely dreams when I do drift off now I've seen that!

RedBlanket Thu 04-Oct-12 09:58:53

you can more or less follow your chosen players around for over 2 hours and get right up close.

Play it by ear, if security are asking you to move on then you might be a bit TOO close. grin would a big banner saying 'MN loves Oscar' be too much?

Fair play, 2 hours of golf is going above and beyond.

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 10:41:26

Two hours of golf is REALLY taking one for the team. I'm not sure you're allowed banners at golf courses - they wouldn't be able to stop you wearing a printed t-shirt though...

For those of us missing semi-naked summertime Oscar, here's a treat for you.

I don't think he has his legs on in this picture, which is quite unusual.

Peachesplusone Thu 04-Oct-12 12:30:37

Well it's not on quite on the same level as AmIthatbad's selfless act of Oscar ogling, but I am going to try and watch some golf on the TV this afternoon (words I NEVER thought I'd hear myself utter). I'm not sure if he's playing today but I figured they will probably show some player profiles or interviews or something.

Ridiculously excited at the prospect of seeing him again! grin

Peachesplusone Thu 04-Oct-12 14:09:32

I just saw him!

He's wearing that awful stripy jumper again!

He looks freezing!

Can I turn over now?

And here I am stuck in uni all day an missing Oscar in the fairways. (Is that the right word?)

RedBlanket Thu 04-Oct-12 15:32:14
GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 16:22:47

Looks like he nicked it from my Dad's wardrobe! grin

Peachesplusone Thu 04-Oct-12 16:46:12

And what's happened to his face? I don't understand how wearing a crap jumper can make someone's FACE less attractive?

GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 17:03:49

He doesn't look right without the stubble. His face is naked!

GothAnneGeddes Thu 04-Oct-12 17:16:34

He just looks absolutely freezing.

I think he got given the golf stuff by a sponsor, so not sure how much say he had in it. Poor bloke.

Poor Oscar, he needs rescuing. grin

RedBlanket Thu 04-Oct-12 19:31:00

Golf clothes don't Suit anyone.

keep the faith ladies

Meglet Thu 04-Oct-12 19:55:23

grin

GothAnneGeddes Thu 04-Oct-12 20:08:33

That leaves very little to the imagination grin

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 20:14:08

And what's happened to his face? I don't understand how wearing a crap jumper can make someone's FACE less attractive?

The poor love looks terribly weather-beaten. We can't see the runny eyes or the snot problem, but I bet they're there.
He can carry off being out of breath and tired and drowning in sweat, but being cold and wearing crap knitwear is beyond the pale. I think it's because he's from a hot country. Red isn't his colour, either.

oh.........................................................................................

AmIthatbad Thu 04-Oct-12 20:18:56

grin

I don't mind the crap clothes - not when they're topped off with this smile

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 20:22:29

I don't think he suits hats very well.

He is experiencing a big fashion fail and as such, should come indoors and take his clothes off immediately.grin

RedBlanket Thu 04-Oct-12 20:35:56

Clanger - you've hit the nail on the head there, his head is telling his body it's summer.

My heating has been accidentally on all day so it's boiling here. He's welcome to acclimatise here in his running gear.

GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 21:43:24

Red those are two of my favourite pictures. Return of the silver pants! grin

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 22:19:39

I think AmI should capture him at the weekend and subject him to a Snog Marry Avoid style make-under. My creative juices are thinking up what POD would say to him right now as we speak.

AmIthatbad Thu 04-Oct-12 22:46:17

Ok, the jumper is pretty awful

....but look at the study in concentration

He's adorable. And has lovely hands

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 23:01:01

I know I'm coming across as harsh, but it really isn't personal - he is adorable.

I'm just marvelling in the capacity that golfing has for making men unattractive. Oscar has worn some of the world's most unforgiving garments - I'm thinking lycra unitards and snot-green vests - and still looked beautiful. Stick him on a Scottish hillside in some sort of golf outfit - his pecs turn into man boobs and that impossibly pert bum just looks big.

Meglet Thu 04-Oct-12 23:10:45

I want half nekkid summertime, running Oscar back <<lip>>.

Golf is going into the 2016 Olympics isn't it. Pah. The only thing that is cool about golf is that my Uncle has a motorised golf caddy, it has a life of it's own. The DC's think it's hilarious when it whirrs across his garden by itself.

AmIthatbad Thu 04-Oct-12 23:15:02

grin

yes, golf clothes are pretty hideous at the best of times. Did you see the awful jackets the Rider Cup players were wearing.

Now, what we should have seen Oscar in is a kilt, with rolled down socks and walking boots, topped off with a nice tight t-shirt. And a cool scarf to keep the sea air off his lovely neck.

Now that would look heaps better

GothAnneGeddes Thu 04-Oct-12 23:16:07

Here is Oscar being a different kind of clothes horse: http://t.co/okJ5QcCx

But nothing will ever beat the silver pants. Ever.

GothAnneGeddes Thu 04-Oct-12 23:16:31

t.co/okJ5QcCx working link

GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 23:35:57

How does he make putting on sunglasses look so good?

Am grin imagining him in a kilt. I think he could pull it off!

AmIthatbad Thu 04-Oct-12 23:37:48

Bloody hell GothAnne, that's a new one for me. Lovely. When it got to the end and said "Play again", I just had to oblige, over and over.

Best bit is near the end when he puts his shades on and smiles.

<overcome with lust>

TheSmallClanger Thu 04-Oct-12 23:42:43

Thanks for that vid, GothAnne. A good find!

It also proves my point above: put him in a swirly-patterned curtain material jacket, silver spangly shite or a sequinned vesty top, and he still looks stunning. Most men would look daft.

GreatGretzky Thu 04-Oct-12 23:46:15

Sweaty running Oscar video I hadn't seen before

AmIthatbad Fri 05-Oct-12 00:02:21

I found another one that I haven't seen before. A BT one

Him with snow falling around - magical www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkd0FaZCrGc&feature=player_detailpage

Peachesplusone Fri 05-Oct-12 07:29:24

Lets say no more about the jumper and just be grateful that he hasn't been taking golf fashion tips from Ian Botham

Thanks for all the lovely links for me to view later when I've got the house to myself grin

Good finds ladies, loving the snowy one.

Just back from ds1's assembly and on the wall display about "inspiration" one of the kids has drawn a picture of Oscar! bets its a girl I am going to take a photo of it next week and tweet it to him. grin

RedBlanket Fri 05-Oct-12 12:00:03

Why is Ian Botham wearing his wife's PJs?

TheSmallClanger Fri 05-Oct-12 19:57:39

Red, that's golf for you.

It has been my day off today, and in between various things, I have watched GothAnne's video several times. Pretty, pouting Oscar in silk and spangles has just managed to drown out frozen, frumpy golf Oscar, in my mind.

Is there a word which means the same as frumpy, but to describe men?

AmIthatbad Fri 05-Oct-12 22:43:16

There's a video of Michael Phelps holing a very long putt, and as he is playing with OP, you see him congratulating him.

It's a Daily Mail link though, with stupid unskippable adverts, so I won't link. He has a skin tight grey nike top on, with a polo neck thingy underneath.

I love the GQ video, I have watched it over and over, while drooling grin

No wine for me tonight, just in case I drink too much and oversleep. Have a date with a golf course tomorrow smile

Pictures Ami, pictures. grin

AmIthatbad Fri 05-Oct-12 23:07:02

Am taking my camera and my phone. DD seems quite reluctant, but the forecast is good, so it may be a nice day for a stroll. And I have bribed her with lunch out afterwards.

Am so excited.

RedBlanket Fri 05-Oct-12 23:22:58

That GQ video <swoon>. He's so lush!!

AmI - have a great time!

TheSmallClanger Fri 05-Oct-12 23:47:23

I really want to post the Snog Marry Avoid Oscar/POD script I wrote earlier, but I think I'm being a bit of a saddo.

DD and I both enjoy doing this. We pretend to be the Strictly Come Dancing judges when we see dancing anywhere, and on car journeys, invent storylines for various TV programmes and events. Our Wimbledon soap operas (shared with my mum) are one of the highlights of my summer.

DD has not let on whether or not she is aware of my Oscar obsession. She has no strong opinions on him, although she enjoyed the Alan Oliveira drama and did some decent speculating about whether they had a fight afterwards, and who was using a voodoo doll of whom.

GothAnneGeddes Sat 06-Oct-12 00:00:52

Post it Small Clanger, post it! It sounds like it would be a laugh.

GreatGretzky Sat 06-Oct-12 00:08:37

Have fun, AmI! Sounds like he's been chatting to people so hope you get to meet him! Be warned though, your knees will go all funny when he smiles at you grin

And Clanger, post it! Sounds like the sort of thing I'd do.

TheSmallClanger Sat 06-Oct-12 00:47:09

POD: In that get-up, 75% of the public would AVOID you! Oscar from South Africa, what do you do?

Oscar: I'm a professional athlete, specialising in the 400m.

POD: Then why on earth do you look so much like a geography teacher?

Oscar: Um, I've been playing golf and the style has kind of stuck, and it's cold, I guess. I'm from South Africa so I'm not really that good with the cold.

POD: POD has conducted in-depth analysis, and concludes that you ACTUALLY have a perfectly nice body under all those layers. Once you have been through your make-under, we will be able to appreciate your natural beauty. Commencing Deep Cleanse! Go and have a nice warm shower and put some moisturiser on.

[Oscar returns, with normal glowy complexion and styled hair, wearing nicely-fitting casual clothes and a stylish coat]

POD: Beautiful! See? Bad weather DOESN'T mean you have to hide yourself in badly-fitting knitwear! Before your make-under, 75% of the public would AVOID you.
[Cut to SMALL from DERBYSHIRE: Can I be greedy and snog him then marry him? Then GOTHANNE from MNLAND: Definitely snog. He looks adorable. And AMI from SCOTLAND: get off him Small and Anne, he's mine.]

POD: Now, 70% of the public want to SNOG you. The rest want to MARRY you. I think your make-under has been a success, don't you? Just remember the rules, and stay away from golf in the future! And good luck for your running races. Goodbye Oscar!

Oscar: Bye POD, and thanks for your help.

GothAnneGeddes Sat 06-Oct-12 10:11:04

Lol, that is brilliant! Thanks for sharing it.

GreatGretzky Sat 06-Oct-12 10:54:13

grin I love it!

Meglet Sat 06-Oct-12 12:41:41

Golf really is the most un-sexy sport in the world isn't it.

amIthatbad looking forward to hearing how much Oscar you got to see!

AmIthatbad Sat 06-Oct-12 20:20:46

OH MY GOD!!!!!

For 5 hours (minus a toilet/food break) I was within feet of him.

*Bad bits first*: - He had a horrible beige jumper on, which really looked as if it was 100% polyester, although he did have a nice lilac shirt underneath. Did improve near the end when he put a nice black zip up top over it though.

That's all the bad bits.

Now the good :-

He spoke TO ME.....yes, directly to me........twice.

He signed my Blade Runner book.

He smells delicious

He looked much slighter than you would think

He has a megawatt smile

He put his arm around DD and I was so flustered I pressed the video button instead of the camera one on my phone.

I have got loads of photos, but will need to find lead to download onto pc.

He is the most patient, pleasant, beautiful man I have ever seen in my life.

Not long home, and I am trying to gather my thoughts and remember every bit, still totally buzzing

In my pretty crap life, today was one of the loveliest days ever.

Meglet Sat 06-Oct-12 20:28:22

envy

I was literally just wondering where you had got to. I had visions of OP being held hostage by a crazed woman! grin

He'll be over for Sports Personality too won't he? They do an international one I think.

GreatGretzky Sat 06-Oct-12 20:40:46

So happy for you AmI! smile 5 hours near him! How did you cope? He was only near me for half an hour or so and my knees were all wobbly grin He's wonderful isn't he?

AmIthatbad Sat 06-Oct-12 20:58:21

grin I felt sorry for the very famous Franz Klammer, plus the two pros, one of whom was the vice-captain of the Ryder cup team. No-one bothered about them. It was all about OP.

I met so many nice people too. Two women I got chatting to separately - both there on their own and huge fans. I did wonder if one of them was a MNer, but didn't ask. There was also a bit of a Kathy Bates in Misery woman, who followed us around for a bit, she was a bit scary - she was a MASSIVE fan.

He is absolutely crap at golf. Four times his ball came off the course and at one of the spots, he had us all tramping in the dunes to find it.

He hope to be at the Commonwealth Games in two years - I'm definitely getting tickets - but said that he would be over loads more times before then.

He is so handsome. There were a couple of ladies discussing him at one point, they didn't know who he was shock but one of them said "oh, he has a lovely face".

And GG, yes he does look you right in the eye when smiling , and it made me want to collapse in a swooning heap at his feet.

I was actually really scared that he would turn out to be a total knobber and my lustful dreams would be shattered, but he really is as nice as everyone says he is..............................the crush continues blush

WilfSell Sat 06-Oct-12 21:04:27

Of course, we all KNEW he smells delicious, right?

<dies of envy>

Meglet Sat 06-Oct-12 21:14:39

There's going to be hoards of women at the Commonwealth Games isn't there blush.

Franz Klammer is a skiier isn't he?

RedBlanket Sat 06-Oct-12 21:17:04

You're back, at last! I was starting to get worried you had him locked up in your spare room. grin

Sooo glad to hear how lovely he is and that he spoke to you! Especially as you had to watch all that golf.

And the bad bits aren't that bad, we've already had full disclosure of the shit golf clothes. Surprised he's not much cop at golf tho, these sporty types can usually do them all.

Tell us more about the crazy stalker lady.

Oh you lucky thing! So glad he lives up to all our hype! How did you not swoon?

grin

TheSmallClanger Sat 06-Oct-12 21:48:22

This thread is useless without pictures!
I'm so glad he is lovely in real life. We've all had our illusions shattered before, it's great to hear of someone living up to expectations.

Interesting you perceived him as slighter than he appears on photos; there was a picture of him next to Michael Phelps yesterday, and he looked really quite little in that.

What does he smell of exactly?

RedBlanket Sat 06-Oct-12 21:59:36

Michael Phelps is really tall, isn't he 6'5 or something?

here

Meglet Sat 06-Oct-12 22:02:25

Phelps is a giant though I think. Swimmers are tall with HUGE shoulders, hands and feet.

Reallynotsureaboutthis Sat 06-Oct-12 22:12:10

Ooh can't wait for the commonwealth games now. I live right beside the main area where it will all be happening. You can all come and kip at mine grin we can co-ordinate our pistorious stalking watching from my 'base camp' smile

Peachesplusone Sat 06-Oct-12 22:17:21

Oh AmI, I'm about to explode with jealousy! Very envy of your DD too. I'm so glad he was as lovely as we've all imagined.

AmIthatbad Sat 06-Oct-12 23:02:19

He was very, very lovely and I am actually a wee bit teary at the emotion of the day. He is pretty much a global superstar, yet he was so patient and so ....well, just so nice.

and so very, very handsome. He really is a good looking man. And I was knackered traipsing around a hilly course for over 5 hours, he must have been tired, but was as smiley on hole 16 as he was on No 3. And he offered the crowd half of his brownie, as he felt guilty about ruining his diet. grin

Have put a couple of pics on my profile.............from my camera. There were better ones on my phone, but I canny be arsed looking for the lead tonight, maybe tomorrow.

GreatGretzky Sat 06-Oct-12 23:12:50

Love them! Especially the neck and bum ones grin

RedBlanket Sat 06-Oct-12 23:30:12

Good work Ami! What did your DD make of him?

AmIthatbad Sat 06-Oct-12 23:43:21

DD is a funny specimen really. She is a 13 year old, with the brain of a 6 year old. She spent most of the holes today sitting away apart, playing with her Mario dolls. I made her get her photo taken with OP. She knows that Mummy loves him and did it for me - she isn't at all bothered and was more focussed on the Frankie and Benny tea that I had promised for later
