Just saw the number of posts in the other thread and thought "ooh we need a new thread", then saw the last post!

Love the title CaveMum wink

Here's my last post from the other thread which is in reply to your question about whether the model is checking out BC's backside.

I'm telling myself she's looking at the whiskey.

I'd be thinking "look at that neat bow on the dressing gown belt. One little pull and that belt would come undone ...."

Although the belt is undone in one of the other pictures. About to say possibly one of the saddest, most pathetic things ever, but I hope BC undid the belt himself . I'm a sad, sad person

LetUsPrey Fri 15-Jun-12 19:09:44

And another one

Also I want that female model's suit.

CaveMum Fri 15-Jun-12 19:24:05

Definitely "Blue Steel"

[A Zoolander reference for all you fans out there!]

LetUsPrey Fri 15-Jun-12 19:30:16

Right. Off out. Laterz.

Although I think he look like he's channeling Christian Bale in those pictures, I still can't help hearing "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" when I see them. <sigh>

And as for the belt coming undone, with all that shiny, slippery fabric, I think we can all be assured that it came undone all by itself. (Wonder if the trousers feature the same closure?)

<starts fanning self>

Darling Benedict

I have had the shittiiest week you can imagine.

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot bette for me

Have had phone call from Social Services people telling me that Minimus is too old to be taken into care and that apparently he is my problem. Actually I always knew this, but was Not Aware that apparently he is homeless and that I Will Not Have Him Back.

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot better for me

OH now on way to Police Sation where Minimus is is being held because he is Danger To Himself And Others.

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot better for me

OH and I not speaking other than to say words like 'He's your bloody son.'

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot better

Insane Boss has decided that I am now Business Manager of Centre for kids with learning difficulties. Pointed out that (a) I only work two days a week (b) do not know anything about Business Management. Insane Boss says my problem, not his.

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot better for me

Feel as though I am turning into Bridget Jones.

let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot bette for me

Am in need of Damn Good Shag.

Key in Usual Place

In desperation

PS let me untie that robe-type-thing and and suddenly life will get a lot better for me

PPS Am in need of Damn Good Shag.

Oh God. drowns in own puddle of drool
How can he be so gorgeous? Its not fair, it's just not fair!

Smophette Fri 15-Jun-12 21:13:33

Oh Jesus - You know in the "Blue Steel" picture, I thought he looked like someone and I couldn't quite put my finger on it and then I found this...

look at the eyes!

<cyber hug><pushes cyber-glass of wine in your direction>

TheAddict Fri 15-Jun-12 21:18:11

Many thanks for cyberhug and wine

In meantime, still in need of BC.

Feel this may be long night.

The Addict

TheAddict Fri 15-Jun-12 21:20:45

Have asked Primus and his SO if they would like to adopt Minimus.

Reply unprintable.

CaveMum Fri 15-Jun-12 21:21:58

Oh poor you Addict. Could the police not hang onto him for a few nights??

Don't know if this will help or make things worse...

Am particularly fond of 0:01-0:02. Shallow, I know. Just imagining those black pajamas on top (or around ankles...)

TheAddict Fri 15-Jun-12 21:30:03

Police Do Not Want Him.

At all.

Minimus apparently stoned out of tiny little mind.

Am thinking of asking Social Services-type People if they will take me into care. Or will run off with Primus's SO and live in BC-fantasy-fuelled heaven.

Did not know that apparently have thrown Minimus out into Cruel World and let him to own devices. When he sobers up, time for Long Hard Talk.

TheAddict Fri 15-Jun-12 21:35:32

Am starting to feel better about life. At least a girl can dream...

TheAddict Fri 15-Jun-12 21:58:07

Minimus now home and eating porridge in Oliver-Twist-type-waif fashion. Have never known him eat porridge before.

Secondus and Tertius unable to cope - have sent them out to buy more instant porridge.

OH gone back to his mother's - my bloody son, you know.

Primus and his SO on way over in attempt to comfort me. Do not need comfort - need to Run Away.

Have found unopened bottle of gin, which I may well take to bed with me when (if) rest of house settles down.

Why me, oh God, why me?

CaveMum Fri 15-Jun-12 22:00:56

Addict, something to comfort you:

BC on the carwalk

Sorry Prey, your fears are confirmed re the undone robe.

LOVING the GQ links (secretly wish I was tall blonde model)
Ace new thread title!

Do we have any video editing gurus among us? Because this song

was made to be our theme song.

And for what it's worth, I don't think he fancied the model. Too tall. <gets hopes up from her 154 cm frame>

LetUsPrey Fri 15-Jun-12 23:54:12

I've not watched the clips. Just in and swaying sitting on the landing before going to bed.

TheAddict - this too shall pass this too shall pass this too shall pass ... Ah fuck it, have a hug.

And GreenCard what do you mean too tall? Nope, no such thing for BC. At 5'11" I'm just right for him.

I'm going to sleep now.

<ponders whether to stay on landing or try for the bed>

By "too tall" I mean that he himself remarked that she was towering over him in her heels.

Then again, a dear friend always said that when you're horizontal, height doesn't matter. Love. Him.

Hope you were able to make the bed!!

CaveMum Sat 16-Jun-12 07:25:50

BC remarked in the video that the model who accompanied him towered over him. She must have been 6ft (same as BC) without heels!

LetUsPrey Sat 16-Jun-12 08:17:34

Morning. How uncomfortable did he look? Bless smile

And the Hat Benedict. What was the meaning of the Hat?

See the point about the height of the model. Benedict I promise not to wear my heels unless you want me to. Besides, for what I've got planned for us, neither of us will need shoes grin

Article about BC in Star Trek 2

"Are you going to be scared of him? Shit, yeah!" <squeeeeeeeee>

TheAddict Sat 16-Jun-12 15:16:16

Minimus now sober. Was apprehended by police because he was lurching around amongst moving traffic on bypass - no charge, could have been much worse.

Minimus wants to live with his Dad (unfortunately the feeling is not mutual). Have told him to phone his Dad this evening and see what he says. Disaster will ensue.

Have told him that he still - and will always have - a home here, but that we need groundrules for everyone to stick to. He's 18 next week, for God's sake.

Trouble with M is that he hates everybody; his Dad for leaving; me for numerous reasons; Primus because he's gay and has a different Dad to M; Secundus because - well, because; Tertius because he's not blood family. And most importantly - and this is the bit where I could just howl, because clearly I have failed my youngest and most vulnerable son - he hates himself.

I have told OH that whatever happens, M is my son and that is where my priority must lie. M was in the room at the time - all the family were - and SO (who for some reason M stands in awe of) explained to M that I had made a Big Sacrifice for him.

Tertius, SO and Minimus have gone down pub (soft drinks only for M) to do a bit of 'hey, we're no relation to each other, we're just mates out down the pub' time. Primus is doing something fanciful in kitchen for tea. Secundus nowhere to be seen.

Have suddenly realised that Minimus has never, ever told me that he loves me. And he may be a despicable, filthy, ill-mannered little yob but he is my son and I would kill anyone who did anything to upset him.

Sorry about the rant.

CaveMum Sat 16-Jun-12 15:26:01

Oh Addict I am sorry you are having such a tough time. I can't offer you any advice as I'm still childless, but hope that things settle down soon.

Is Minimus at college/school? My younger brother had a run in with the law a number of years ago, he's a good kid but just got himself into a mess. He got signed up to a course with the Princes Trust which was partially about building self esteem and partially about helping others. Could you pack him off on something similar, or one of those overseas gap year things? Building a school in the middle of nowhere might help put life into perspective, and get him away from any bad influences.

Have some Blue Suit Batch to relieve the tension.

TheAddict Sat 16-Jun-12 15:50:46

Mmmmm - bluesuitbatch....

Minimus is at local college on brickwork course. I'm too frightened to let him go off by himself for a year - God only knows what he might get up to.

If he could be bothered to use his brains, he's highly intelligent. I'm considering trying to negotiate with him that, if he finishes the college course and behaves himself for the next year, I will fund him through university (I managed to out enough money away for all four to do this) but this will depend on him playing the game by my rules.

The 'mates together down the pub' seems to have gone reasonably well: at least they all came back together, sober and sniggering about Something Mum Is Not Supposed To Know About. Just hope SO has not told Minimus about my BC-fixation.

Think I'm going to have to have a heart-to-heart with SO and see if he's got any ideas: he's about the only person Minimus doesn't seem to actively hate.

LetUsPrey Sat 16-Jun-12 17:12:52

Nothing useful to add TheAddict sad. My eldest is only 10.

What other kind of Batch can we attempt to cheer you with? Our searches will be thorough [selfless]

CaveMum Sat 16-Jun-12 20:03:28

Full video from GQ. Haven't watched it yet as it is in Flash Player and I'm on my iPad.

LetUsPrey Sat 16-Jun-12 20:57:13

CaveMum - don't get too excited about watching it. There's lots of admittedly very pretty young men wearing some amazingly fabulous suits envy, but BC is on for about two or three seconds near the end.

Incidentally, went to the hairdressers this afternoon. One of the songs that came on whilst I was having my hair washed was the Florence and the Machine "No Light No Light" which reminded me of this. Which was nice.

And whilst I was looking for that, I came across this which makes me want to watch The Reichenbach Fall all over again. grin

CaveMum Sun 17-Jun-12 17:27:13

Squeee! If Spencer Hart's Twitter is to be believed, BC is in the store getting kitted out for the GQ dinner tonight. They've promised to tweet a picture soon.

Is it too much to hope he might appear at Royal Ascot next week? I fancy seeing him in morning dress, plus I'm there on Tuesday!

LetUsPrey Sun 17-Jun-12 17:34:32

My little sister's going to Ascot next week too. She is already under strict instruction that should she be aware that she might ever meet BC during the course of her work, she is to contact me immediately. I shall email her to tell her that on the off-chance BC puts in an appearance at Ascot and on the even bigger off-chance she meets him, she must squeeze me into the conversation somehow. I wonder if he could be persuaded to be recorded saying my name?

<realises getting a bit carried away>

Will keep an eye on Twitter.

Just watched The Reichenbach Fall again. "Don't. Be. Dead." <sob sob sob>

LetUsPrey Sun 17-Jun-12 18:02:51

Spencer Hart just tweeted that they're uploading something in a short while. They'd better be quick. DH and the DC will be home soon and I'll have to log off and actually do stuff.

CaveMum Sun 17-Jun-12 18:39:48

This is rather sweet, apart from the hat!

LetUsPrey Sun 17-Jun-12 18:52:02

I love those trousers sooo much. They fit very nicely wink. And you just know he's wearing the braces too.

Ditch the hat though.

LetUsPrey Sun 17-Jun-12 21:02:27

I really try not to swear on this thread (don't know why) but he looks absolutely fucking gorgeous in that picture! And the hair, fuck me (in for a penny in for a pound), the hair. grin

Oh to be a window dresser. Think of all the different positions ....

CaveMum Sun 17-Jun-12 22:00:04

Seems to just be me and you these last 24hours Prey!

Yes, there is definite ginger-ness in that picture, do we think Gingerbatch is finally back?!

LetUsPrey Sun 17-Jun-12 22:04:37

And yes, it would seem that Gingerbatch is back grin

CaveMum Mon 18-Jun-12 07:15:54

It appears GingerBatch may have been a trick of the light sad

I think the first picture is a Pout-Off! Winner - Cumberbatch!

LetUsPrey Mon 18-Jun-12 07:33:50

I think you're right CaveMum. The light was playing tricks. Still gorgeous though grin And that mouth ....

sloppygirl Mon 18-Jun-12 19:47:21

Just seen Frankenstein..BC as creature..bloody brilliant.I so wish I had seen proper production, but this was fantastic..I went alone, and there was a mixed audience, ages and sexes..I forgot my broken hand and just drifted off..I know he looks bad in it, but you can see him through the makeup, and he uses his body so effectivley..( drifts off...) kept thinking about his line as a 'Fucking fantastic lover..' and fact he swears a lot, and sounds so gorgeous when he does..I have issues..! Am I wrong to find all this a huge turn on..??!!

CaveMum Mon 18-Jun-12 20:16:01

Inspired by you sloppy I've just booked tickets to see Frankenstein (BC as creature) on my own on Thursday. I though my local venue was sold out, but I found another one nearby grin

I was about to pass CaveMum my smelling salts, and then I watched the video. I think I'm going to need an intervention soon.

CaveMum Mon 18-Jun-12 21:21:37

According to Twitter, BC is at the Amaing Spiderman premiere.

I'm still clinging on to the vain hope that he'll be at Ascot tomorrow [deluded]

LetUsPrey Mon 18-Jun-12 21:57:27

I must email my little sister about Ascot, find out what day she's going.

I'm seeing Frankenstein on Thursday with JLM as the Creature. I really want to see BC as the Creature too, particularly given the clips I've seen. Probably a bad idea given that I'm feeling slightly hormonally teary so BC as the Creature would push me over the edge into sobbing wreck territory.

yellowraincoat Mon 18-Jun-12 21:58:54

I saw Cumberbatch at a party at the weekend. I don't find him in any way attractive and even less so in the flesh.

CaveMum Mon 18-Jun-12 22:19:26

All the more for us then!

sloppygirl Tue 19-Jun-12 01:03:00

Enjoy CaveMum..well done on getting ticket.
Prey..he is very good as Frankenstein..i saw that version with a girlfriend last week..I had to control myself ofcourse, as she does not share my addiction, but it was wonderful ..

CaveMum Tue 19-Jun-12 06:45:52

Sherlock won best mini series and BC got best actor in a mini series at last night's (US) Critics Choice Awards grin

Also curly-batch is back. Bad BC for wearing brown shoes with a black suit hmm

Bigger is better!

Does anyone know his shoe size? I could sail to America in those things.

LetUsPrey Tue 19-Jun-12 21:51:37

I've said it before and I'll say it again, he does have quite large feet grin

Hurrah for the return of the curls! Now if he can just get it back to being that beautiful ginger colour ...

LetUsPrey Tue 19-Jun-12 23:47:47
LetUsPrey Wed 20-Jun-12 21:00:28

Ooh look do I get BC all to myself?

I can admire this alone (until BC gets here)

Popular information is that he takes a size 11 shoe.

CaveMum Wed 20-Jun-12 21:06:50

I'm here! [beats Prey off with a large stick] wink

Had a busy few days! No sign of BC at Royal Ascot - boo! I've put a pic of me in my posh frock on my profile, I was convinced BC would see me and fall at my feet wink

The things this picture is doing to me right now......

CaveMum Wed 20-Jun-12 21:08:15

BTW, I do realise you've already put it up Prey (blush) but I thought it was deserving of another post wink

LetUsPrey Wed 20-Jun-12 21:19:00

Thought saying I'd have him to myself would prompt a response grin

I love this from Steven Moffat.

LetUsPrey Wed 20-Jun-12 22:26:27

Love your dress CaveMum! You look gorgeous! Where's the dress from?

CaveMum Wed 20-Jun-12 22:28:57

grin Thanks blush
It's from LK Bennett - here, though they don't do it in the pink anymore.

LetUsPrey Wed 20-Jun-12 23:09:20

We seem to be in danger of turning into a style and beauty thread and my contribution to one of those would be minimal!

Here's a picture of the Cumberbutt to get things back on track grin

LetUsPrey Thu 21-Jun-12 08:29:13

Frankenstein tonight!

Had a dream last night where I had to go somewhere quite far away first and got stuck and therefore missed the film.

CaveMum Thu 21-Jun-12 10:31:10

Frankenstein tonight here too grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 21-Jun-12 12:20:47

Helloooooo! Sorry for the long absence.

Thanks for the new thread, CaveMum!

I feel like I'm always the one to pour cold water (partly why I've been staying away, tbh), but I didn't like his outfit or his appearance at the Spencer Hart show AT ALL. He looked uncomfortable and self-conscious, which unfortunately made him look a bit stiff and pompous (I KNOW he's not really! And stop sniggering about 'stiff' grin).

I was disappointed by the dressing gown – I wanted to see him in suits – but suspect they did that on purpose to confound those of us who were expecting to see him in a three-piece.

Sorry ...

On a positive note, I saw Frankenstein this week, with BC as the Creature (going to see him as Victor on Mon). PACKED cinema (I was expecting it to be me, two other people and a dog). Christ, he was good. It brought back all the memories and feelings from the live production. His voice work alone is worth the ticket price IMO.

Thanks for all the pics everyone. Especially those ones of him in the mirror with his braces on ...

LetUsPrey Thu 21-Jun-12 12:47:41

I know what you mean about the Spencer Hart show LadyClarice. I thought he looked quite uncomfortable and <snigger> stiff <snigger>. Perhaps I'd need to see the outfit in person to properly assess it. grin

I suppose the Frankenstein thing might appear on YouTube at some stage, although in a slightly less than strictly legal capacity. I might check the dates and venues again for BC as the Creature and try to work something out, though it's highly unlikely.

I'm going to cry. The nearest place showing Frankenstein is 6 hours away. Please god, let them release a DVD. I know they're not planning it now, but still.

And thank you, Prey for that link. It made the discovery about the cinema thing a little easier to take. <sniff>

I just did a double-take on this one. He looks so much like Michael C. Hall on Dexter, it's frightening. (But he's not bad either. Not quite as versatile as BC, but we can't have everything, can we?)

exexpat Thu 21-Jun-12 13:59:31

I went to see Frankenstein a few days ago, the version with BC as Victor. I was surprised to see that there were actually some men in the audience - though it was definitely majority female. Maybe the one where BC gets his kit off plays the creature would have been even more popular?

LetUsPrey Thu 21-Jun-12 19:15:45

Leaving soon <squeee> need to keep it down a bit or friend will be all eye-rolly grin

But still <squeeeeeeee>

CaveMum Thu 21-Jun-12 19:24:14

Sat in cinema waiting for the start at 7.30. There are two Japanese girls sat in front of me taking pictures of the blank screen and each other holding their tickets hmm

Place is pretty empty though, no more than 50 people in here at the moment and I reckon it holds 300 or so.

CaveMum Thu 21-Jun-12 22:12:29

Just got home. Wow! What an amazing performance, from all of them. Shame about the loincloth wink

Everyone in the theatre clapped at the end and the two Japanese girls got carried away and clapped again when BC came out for his bow grin

A pretty mixed demographic, more older couples than young girls, and only about half full, which surprised me.

What did you think Prey?

LetUsPrey Thu 21-Jun-12 23:09:39

Back home and sitting down with a brew. Cinema was probably a third to half full.

It was absolutely astonishing. Just brilliant. Performances of both BC and JLM were fantastic. In fact, the whole thing: the writing, the sets, the music - oh wow, the music - everything was amazing.

Friend actually said she wouldn't mind seeing it again with BC as the Creature to see what each actor could do in the other role IYSWIM. No chance of that happening sadly.

I, er, quite liked how sweaty BC got. Liked it quite a lot in fact. grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 22-Jun-12 09:59:02

exexpat Fri 22-Jun-12 10:06:07

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 22-Jun-12 10:10:13

Yes, because after all I am made of money. grin

I haven't just been on the Trainline and looked at prices and times, oh no sirree

LetUsPrey Fri 22-Jun-12 21:13:40

Arf at LadyClarice checking train details. I mean, not checking grin

LetUsPrey Sat 23-Jun-12 20:11:35

Went to the cinema again today. This time I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

How different can two visits to the cinema be?

I want to watch Frankenstein again but with BC as the Creature. After sitting through that dross this morning, I think it's the least I deserved <stamps foot>

TheAddict Sat 23-Jun-12 21:11:47

Blimey, Prey from the sublime to the ridiculous...

CaveMum Sat 23-Jun-12 21:53:09

He was divine as the Creature, though I can't really compare as I've not seen JLM's creature. As I'm sure you can imagine, the opening scene definitely gets the blood pumping wink

Having read the reviews from the original run, BC's creature seemed to be preferred.

LetUsPrey Sat 23-Jun-12 22:55:35

From the teeny clips I've seen of BC as the Creature he does look awesome. Wonder if they'll ever do another round of NTLive shows?

CaveMum Sat 23-Jun-12 23:25:25

It's worth reading the Sherlockology review to give you an idea of the differences.

LetUsPrey Sat 23-Jun-12 23:45:47

Thanks CaveMum. I'll read that in the morning as I'm not supposed to be on my iPod in bed! JLM was amazing as the Creature though, which surprised me a little although I don't know why.

I've read the review CaveMum, along with lots of others. I'm even more cross than before that I won't get to see the other version.

CaveMum Sun 24-Jun-12 14:32:27

Is there definitely nowhere near you/near a friend or family you could "visit"? I know they're not showing certain versions on set dates, because I saw BC the same night you saw JLM. They are showing JLM's version here next month.

Whereabouts, ish, are you?

CaveMum Sun 24-Jun-12 16:43:33

This just made me laugh like a hyena grin

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 17:30:31

Hahahahahaha! That has really brightened up my weekend.

I'm off to re-check the schedules. [determined]

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 17:42:04

There is one showing near me - same place as before - but it's this Thursday. However, DH goes to a specific class at his gym on a Thursday which he obviously missed last week. I don't imagine he'd be terribly happy if I asked him to miss this week's too. Don't think friend's willingness to go again would be a problem if she's not away with work. hmm I might sound her out first and then try to "persuade" DH.

CaveMum Sun 24-Jun-12 19:41:20

Go on your own! I did. That way you won't have to explain the "oooo" noises you'll make when you clap eyes on his thighs wink

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 19:44:17

I am more than willing to go alone. However, friend is my cover story that she wants to see the film blush.

<sad sad sad>

Prey, can't you just tell DH you're meeting her there?

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 20:39:00

grin I think what I'll do is mention it to friend, then ask DH when he's in a good mood wink. If friend doesn't want to go or can't make it, I can just say she's had to cancel at the last minute but I don't want to waste my ticket so will go on my own. Flipping heck, it's hard work being this pathetic!

Watch this, there'll be no tickets left!

megcleary Sun 24-Jun-12 20:40:39

I am very lucky have been to see both versions at the cinema over the last two weeks. Am still turning over themes etc in my mind and really enjoyed them both. Benedict was stunning as the creature and JLM was very good as the Dr.
While the reversal was excellent the following week, Benedict did shade it acting wise for me.
The whole thing was mesmerising I was shocked at how sad I was at the end when the creature thought the Dr has died. The scene wiped me out.
All in all really great experience and has made me want to do more cultural stuff.

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 21:12:33

In the bit before Frankenstein started they mentioned they'd be doing a showing of Othello. I'd like to see that.

Just heard back from friend who's not keen to go again quite so soon but is willing to assist in saying she wants to go. It's only for a film and I'd never put her in this position for anything "icky" IYSWIM.

Might suggest to DH I ask my sister to babysit for an hour until he gets back from the gym.

I am so not reading this back otherwise I'd have to slap myself blush

CaveMum Sun 24-Jun-12 21:21:34

Oh yes, Othello would be good. I quite fancied One Man Two Governers too.

I read in the week that BC wants to play Hamlet on stage in the next few years.

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 22:12:48

Well bollocks. DH is all amenable, doesn't mind missing gym. I go on to the cinema app to book. Not there. Go through NT list of venues and access it that way. Click on BC as Creature for 28th. It's only on at about four cinemas, the nearest of which is about 20-25 miles away. Not my local one. angry (at myself) and sad.

<wails> It's not faaaaaaaaiiiiiirrrrrrr

CaveMum Sun 24-Jun-12 22:15:38

Boooo! Can you drive over/get friend to drive? I know it adds more time onto the evening, but will be totally worth it.

LetUsPrey Sun 24-Jun-12 22:21:56

Friend not going. Not a clue where other cinema is. not a confident driver, hate going places I don't know in the day never mind at night which I know sounds pathetic but there you go

Next nearest is 80 odd miles.

Oh well, it's not to be. <sigh> Benedict I need consoling.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 25-Jun-12 09:52:26

Re Frankenstein, I think the four lead roles (so to speak) go in this order, from best to least best:

BC's Creature
BC's Victor

<largeish gap>
JLM's Creature

<mahoooooosive gap>
JLM's Victor

BC is simply in a different league as an actor. I could expand, but I've bored on about shared my views on this so many times, on so many forums, that I have thoroughly bored myself, let alone innocent bystanders grin

CaveMum Mon 25-Jun-12 17:09:07

Please do bore us Clarice! I'd be interested to see your views!
Am I right in thinking JLM played the creature first, so that reviewers were more taken with it as they had seen it before BC took on the role?

I may have that totally arse about face though grin

LetUsPrey Mon 25-Jun-12 18:47:02

Agree with CaveMum, please bore us seeing as I bore enough for several people.

I thought JLM's Creature was amazing so I can only imagine <sniffle> how astonishingly brilliant BC's was <weep>. They've said they can't release it on DVD because of actors' and crew rights or something. Get it sorted NT. You. Will. Make. A. Killing.

CaveMum Mon 25-Jun-12 20:23:11

How can one man look so hot?

Official photos to follow according to Spencer Hart

LetUsPrey Mon 25-Jun-12 21:01:01

D'you know what? I'd like to check that BC's as bloody gorgeous in real life as he is in his photographs. I think this needs to be done, as they say on WAYWB, for science.

And to check various other statements he's made. [selfless]

CaveMum Mon 25-Jun-12 22:24:35

Never seen this before

Blonde Batch!

I volunteer to verify the one about being a f***ing fantastic lover.

It's all for science. Honest.

CaveMum Mon 25-Jun-12 22:57:40

Join the queue GreenCard grin

Personally I think I need to investigate his "bad cop" persona in depth wink

LetUsPrey Mon 25-Jun-12 23:14:17

Yep, there's a queue! grin

What about money or sex? Or pulling his hair and him begging for mercy and doing anything you want? (I may have made that bit up but that was the general gist grin)

Nah, not into pulling hair. Wouldn't want to hurt him, not that way at least. Am thinking of that interview where he had to pick and he chose James Stewart and Grace Kelley over James Dean and...oh hell, I forgot who the other woman was. Am now running visions of a remake of "Rear Window" in my mind.... grin (Normally I hate remakes, but could possibly make an exception in this case. Esp. if I get to have the Grace Kelly role)

LetUsPrey Tue 26-Jun-12 19:38:56

"Pull the hair on my head the wrong way, and I would be on my knees begging for mercy. I have very sensitive follicles.”

But just think what you could make him do if you pulled his hair the wrong way grin

Oh Prey, I wish you hadn't said that. Now I won't get a wink of sleep tonight. <purrs>

LetUsPrey Tue 26-Jun-12 22:27:28

You're welcome smile

This was today

I don't know about you, but after seeing this, my morning is shot to hell:

LetUsPrey Wed 27-Jun-12 08:24:53

At crappy times during the working day I shall think of those images with me in her place grin

I also need to find the right picture from behind the scenes at the Soencer Hart show and print that off.

Whatever it takes grin

LetUsPrey Wed 27-Jun-12 08:25:53

Soencer?? Spencer obviously.

That's OK, I'd be a little wobbly too after watching those GIFs over and over and over and over...

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 27-Jun-12 10:51:33
LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 27-Jun-12 11:42:26

I can't face retyping all my views on Frankenstein (not to mention thinking them all up again!) so have looked and looked at my old ones online for some I can copy and paste. Thankfully for everyone I can only find this, which is sort of it in a nutshell:

'What I loved most about BC as the Doctor was that yes, he was unpleasant, un-self-aware and arrogant, but also sometimes vulnerable and so very human. His performance was incredibly layered and subtle. I thought he was also better than JLM as the Creature – just has more depth as an actor IMO, plus better and more varied physical acting skills and vocal range and technique.'

CaveMum, yes, I think JLM was the first Creature. He was the first I saw as well, due to Benedict, who was meant to be the Creature the first night I went, being 'indisposed'. (I'm still not over that grin)

On another note, has this had an airing?

Benedict not confident socially? I don't believe it for a second. And frankly, at the moment it seems like he's turning up at the opening of envelopes grin

I'm sure there are legions of women (and men) perfectly willing to let him let them get to know the real Benedict. <whistles innocently> Care to start with me? smile

LetUsPrey Wed 27-Jun-12 12:53:54

Bless. I think he needs to have a night in. You know, get to bed early wink

I'd volunteer to tuck him in and read him a story. Perhaps "Fifty Shades of Grey"?

CaveMum Wed 27-Jun-12 17:42:32

I don't believe that he's not confident socially. Evidence for the prosecution: Drag Batch

I'm on the fence on this one. On the one hand, it could be total crap, as evidenced that right now he's EVERYWHERE. (And oh, don't we hate that.)

On the other hand, DragBatch, HefBatch and all the other -Batches we've seen could be just another opportunity for him to practice a persona. To be honest, I feel bad for the man. I do believe him when he says his celebrity is a serious impediment to meeting women as they only know what he's projected on-screen. (Which of course does nothing for our hopes of meeting him in some café.) The minute he spends more than 2 minutes chatting some woman up, there's a blip in the blogosphere that he has a girlfriend. Can you imagine what would happen if he opened up at one of these functions? It's his way of protecting what little privacy he has.

If you ask me, my money is on him having stealth profiles on Facebook or the like. <goes to check profile -- nope, no messages from unknown Batch-lookalikes -- damn>

LetUsPrey Wed 27-Jun-12 23:24:39

I have my plan. I will meet him at a swanky function (details of why on earth I am at the same function as BC are hazy and, frankly, unnecessary), we will strike up a conversation and wander about with the crowds outside. However, it gets a bit darker which makes it easier to drift off with no-one actually noticing (details also hazy). Therefore, BC can loosen up and be more himself and relax and show me exactly how confident he can be grin

<may have given this too much thought>
<doesn't care>

LetUsPrey Wed 27-Jun-12 23:45:32

From deareje's tumblr re Sherlock. It also says on the blog where this has been taken from.

"It can be revealed the secrets of his survival have already been filmed – as TV producers were worried the location might change its appearance before the next series starts shooting in full. But the big question is: does Sherlockology know how its hero survived? “If we do we wouldn’t tell,” said Coomber. “And we don’t like to speculate as although the media was on fire with suggestions Steven and Mark are such great writers I am sure whatever they come up with will be amazingly clever. “But I do know this – the solution has already been filmed. The cast and crew did it very soon after the ending of the final episode, to ensure there were no continuity errors in how the location looked.”

CaveMum Wed 27-Jun-12 23:58:31

I heard that they'd already filmed the "resolution" to RF. so yes, sqqqquuuueeee!

I have pondered many "meet the Batch" scenarios .......

Unfortunately, should the blessed event ever occur, I'm likely to go bright red, squeak "Excuse me Mr Cumberbatch, can I have my picture taken with you?", grin like an escapee from the local lunatic assylum and spend the rest of my life kicking myself for not acting "cooler" grin

Longtime Thu 28-Jun-12 00:49:01

Hmm, have just uploaded a card I've made for my dd's birthday as she (and I) are huge Sherlock fans. It's difficult to see it in the photo though. Is it ok?

LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 07:55:41

CaveMum - the details of how I don't turn into a gibbering wreck are the haziest of all. grin

Longtime - love that card! Happy birthday to your DD smile

CaveMum Thu 28-Jun-12 08:02:13

Great card Longtime, I'm sure your dd will love it.

I was at a posh dinner last night and was seated next to a man whose daughter works in theatre in that there London. He said that if you want to get tickets for National Theatre productions the best thing to do is become a "Friend of the NT", which costs about £30 a year. You then get first dibs on tickets, and they're usually discounted to about £10 too!
I'm thinking £30 is a good annual investment to see some excellent productions and possibly some Batch action

LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 08:13:24

Why does Lunnen have to be so far away? Bloody unreasonable if you ask me grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 28-Jun-12 11:31:18

I'm afraid I've never heard of £10 tickets for members (cheap tickets are available if you're prepared to queue early in the morning on the day of performance, and for shows that are part of the Travelex season).

As for 'first dibs on tickets', there are different levels of membership. Obviously the more you pay, the better the benefits are.

I became an 'Advance Member' of the NT last year – the cheapest membership option – so that I could get priority booking on the Frankenstein tickets (a bloody good job too; by the time they went on sale to the general public they'd all sold out!)

I think a year's membership cost me £15 but all it got me was the advance booking option and each season's brochure posted out to me. For the next level up, £65, you get to book in advance of the Advance Members and get money off NT platforms. It gets more expensive from there.

I've let my membership lapse because it quite honestly didn't seem like that good a deal.

CaveMum Thu 28-Jun-12 18:25:41

Aww, that's no good sad

And there was me planning on hanging about at the stage door before being whisked away on the back of BCs motorbike [sighs]

LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 18:41:56

<resists temptation to ask BC about his helmet>

What does a well-fitting suit look like? This

Longtime Thu 28-Jun-12 19:47:21

She loved it! (And thank you for the birthday wishes LetUsPray.)

LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 19:50:31

grin Longtime glad she liked the card. Is DD your first teenager? I remember when my niece turned 13 - she's 17 now. Good luck.

CaveMum Thu 28-Jun-12 20:34:56

Amen to that gif!

[goes for a lie down]

CaveMum Thu 28-Jun-12 21:20:01

A rather lovely photoshoot here and here

CaveMum Thu 28-Jun-12 21:32:28
LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 21:53:04

Thanks CaveMum I opened those last two sets and immediately this -->grin happened!

LetUsPrey Thu 28-Jun-12 22:27:52

Bit of a Chris Pine interview

"It is structured so that the antagonist brings out all of the qualities in Kirk that need to happen in order for Kirk to grow," Pine said. "As you know from Benedict, just watching him, vocally, he's fascinating. He's got this deep resonate voice. He's a fascinating face. He's a lovely guy and just super smart. You want to see something firing in his brain, so he's not just a blood-dripping-from-the-fangs bad guy. Benedict brings those kinds of smarts."

So, supervillain <mmm> wearing tight clothes <mmm> being very scary <mmm with added frisson> speaking in his gorgeous deep voice <mmm>

Altogether now squeeeeeeeeeee grin

CaveMum Fri 29-Jun-12 09:23:08

Squuueee indeed! I, however, do want to see him in a "blood dripping from his fangs" role. He needs to do Dracula! [casts self as buxom maiden for him to sink his teeth into]

[looks down at flat chest, gets wonderbra out]

Longtime Fri 29-Jun-12 10:01:09

LetUsPrey, she's my third teenager but first girl teenager. She has been absolutely adorable up till now so I'm dreading the teenage years. My ds's didn't seem to change much - ds1 was a teenager from about the age of 4 anyway and ds2 just remained his easy self. I'm hoping she'll do the same. (Ds1 23 now and lovely smile .)

Anyway, back to BC and looking at those photoshoots ...

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 29-Jun-12 10:48:55

CaveMum, you still could, but you'll just have to save up a bit for your tickets smile

The National is rather expensive, I always think. In twelve years in London I've never managed to get one of the much-vaunted £12 Travelex tickets; they sell in the blink of an eye. Prices go up steeply from there and even though they publish the 'official' price bands in the season brochure, real prices often don't reflect the bands and any vaguely famous person in the cast always seems to mean a price bump.

Anyway, I digress. Sorry!

CaveMum Fri 29-Jun-12 12:22:31

Thanks Clarice, I may well still look into it.

During some YouTube trawling last night, I stumbled on an old Texas video staring my older man crush Alan Rickman. I'd forgotten that Sharlene Spiteri had been asked who she wanted in the video opposite her, she jokingly said "Alan Rickman" and got him!
[ponders becoming a singer and demanding BC in all my music vids]

[remembers she can't carry a tune in a bucket]

LetUsPrey Fri 29-Jun-12 18:49:08
CaveMum Fri 29-Jun-12 20:03:54

I saw that! It made me grin A LOT!

LetUsPrey Fri 29-Jun-12 23:00:38

I think this and this and this are some of my new favourite photos. smile

CaveMum Fri 29-Jun-12 23:10:37

The first one - his eyes are so penetrating
The second one - he looks like he's about to collapse in a fit of giggle
The third one - ditto the first one

[hmm, BC and penetrating in the same sentence......]

LetUsPrey Fri 29-Jun-12 23:29:25

Oooh CaveMum how naughty!

<collapses in a fit of giggles next to Benedict>
(NB: I do not lol)

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 30-Jun-12 20:41:17

Heads up for next Friday!

No idea whether Benedict will be talking about the tennis or just be a guest. If the latter, I'm not sure what he's plugging as I don't think he'll be on our screens again until Parade's End in the autumn.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 30-Jun-12 20:49:27
LetUsPrey Sat 30-Jun-12 20:50:40

Thanks LadyClarice. I finish early on Fridays so I'll be able to listen. <happy dance>

Benedict in tennis whites would be a sight worth seeing wouldn't it?

LetUsPrey Sat 30-Jun-12 20:52:38

Seriously, they need to move London.

CaveMum Sun 01-Jul-12 08:38:25

Anybody else spent 5 minutes watching this, hoping the sheet might fall a bit further?!

LetUsPrey Sun 01-Jul-12 09:07:25

Only five minutes? grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 01-Jul-12 12:44:15

Just looked at the times and Richard B is on at 1pm and then the Royal Court thing starts at 2pm. Benedict doesn't like to make life easy for himself, does he?!

Moving London ... hmmm. Was about to say NOOOOOOO smile, but then realised that a) the Royal Court thing is sold out and b) I want to go to Wimbledon on Friday so would be missing both anyway. So Prey, go ahead and haul the Big Smoke up to wherever you want it; makes no difference to me grin

LetUsPrey Sun 01-Jul-12 13:00:16

Balls. I don't leave work until 2.30pm on a Friday. No consideration Benedict - tut grin. If you could just arrange your schedule to suit me, I'd be ever so grateful.

<leaves Lunnen where it is for now>

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 01-Jul-12 13:01:10

Record it? Or presumably it'll be on iPlayer. It better be, otherwise I won't be able to listen!

CaveMum Sun 01-Jul-12 13:06:59

Should be on iplayer, the show usually is.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 01-Jul-12 13:28:00

[hurrah emoticon]

LetUsPrey Sun 01-Jul-12 14:59:15

Hurrah for the iPlayer!

I am watching the pilot of A Study In Pink. He does a brilliant drunk. grin

And whilst he looks amazing in jeans I have it paused on the bit where he's crawling on the floor whilst drugged, Sherlock simply is not a jeans person.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 01-Jul-12 16:16:51

I agree, Prey. The pilot makes interesting watching in a compare-and-contrast kind of way, but it's SO not 'right' whereas the aired episodes are SO right, IYKWIM.

I'm intrigued about the process and the thinking. Who decided that the 'pilot' Sherlock would wear jeans, have different hair, put on the hygiene suit to examine the body (when the 'aired' Sherlock conspicuously doesn't) etc? I read an interview with BC once where he said that by the time they started shooting, he knew what he was going to do with the character, but going by the filmed evidence that changed quite dramatically between pilot and aired episodes.

If I Tweet all this to lovely Mark Gatiss do you think he'll run through all the thinking for me? grin

LetUsPrey Sun 01-Jul-12 16:20:03

And I'll have an in depth, intense, one on one discussion with BC about it. I'll even take notes. grin

LetUsPrey Sun 01-Jul-12 22:09:36

Tonight I have been demonstrating my already obvious selflessness, but this time as a selfless mama.

DS1 was asking where did we all come from, how did we evolve from apes, how was the world created, etc. I mentioned something about there was initially nothing (sort of) and then there was the Big Bang. And then I thought "I know who can explain this" and found in my history on YouTube the part from Hawking where he and Roger Penrose have the breakthrough moment on the railway platform. It's my favourite bit from the programme. So, I sat with DS1 whilst he watched that part just to ensure of course that he understood it as much as he could.

<polishes halo>

Prey, that pretty much defines "Win-Win". Good for you!!

Just came back from a weekend in Amsterdam with an old school friend. Spent lots of time convincing her that she needs to find Sherlock (and BC) quickly. Because we always need new members here, right?

CaveMum Mon 02-Jul-12 08:08:57

How unselfish of you Prey wink

The Cumberbuddy Tumblr is killing me today. So much loveliness...

CaveMum Mon 02-Jul-12 21:14:56

BC's episode of Miss Marple is on ITV3 right now grin

CaveMum Mon 02-Jul-12 21:43:51

Really, How dreadful... is another funny blog.

And here

LetUsPrey Mon 02-Jul-12 22:45:16

CaveMum saw your BC notification about 3/4 hour ago. I love Sky+ so much! grin

Will have a look at the blogs now.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 03-Jul-12 11:25:46

Weird; why is BC in the studio with Friendly Fires?

More to the point though, does he look a bit more like his old, slightly thin self? Is he de-bulking after Star Trek? <thank fuck>

CaveMum Tue 03-Jul-12 11:49:11

Clarice he's heading back to the US to film that, er, film - cant for the life of me remember what it is called. He's playing a Plantation owner so bulky wouldn't be in keeping wink

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 03-Jul-12 12:08:20

True! Twelve Years a Slave, is that the title?

I'm dreading the Southern accent. I have an unfortunately very sensitive ear for people doing accents and they always make my toes curl ...

12 Years A Slave?

CaveMum Tue 03-Jul-12 12:44:58

That's the one.

GreenCard from what I remember it is based on a book about a free black man in the USA who is abducted and sold into slavery. BC plays one of his "owners".

CaveMum -- yes, and I vaguely remember reading that the book is now available copyright-free on the internet, so we can all go read it beforehand (so we can later concentrate on the visuals, not boring stuff like plot).

LadyClarice I know what you mean. I didn't go see the Colin Firth film that played in the South. When my husband bought "The Perfect Storm" I had to leave the room because Clooney's New England accent was so bad. I have heard, however, that our dear BC is a good mimic, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 03-Jul-12 14:05:46

Are you American/Canadian, GreenCard? I don't remember being troubled by Clooney's accent in The Perfect Storm (although I saw it ages ago and don't have the strongest memory of it); as a Brit I don't think I'm that attuned to different American accents and whether people are doing good or bad ones.

I know BC is great at mimicking, so you're right, he may well be fine. I've watched a couple of clips from The Whistleblower though, in which he does American (I suspect generic American), and he wasn't awful but he wasn't that great ... Sorry Benedict grin

I am...and hope I don't get kicked out. (Because we Yankees do appreciate BC. And I'm in hell, I'm making an international mess of this, aren't I?)

Yes, Clooney's accent was ALL over the map. It was painful. After I came back to watch the rest of it, I made DH change the audio over to the German. I actually was a kid in Boston when the real ship went down, so I remember the story.

But yeah, BC in Star Trek is going to be great (although I prefer the Skinny Batch to BulkBatch, although getting Batch in bulk would be perfect...) -- DH is a Trekker so he can ooh and ah about that, and I'll just sit there trying to control myself. smile

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 03-Jul-12 15:40:04

Interesting. If it comes round on TV again I'll keep an ear out.

CaveMum Tue 03-Jul-12 15:52:44

Nominations are out for the TV Choice Awards.

BC is up for Best Actor and Sherlock is up for Best Drama.

Vote here

LetUsPrey Tue 03-Jul-12 17:54:16

SkinnyBatch, BulkyBatch, GingerBatch ... I don't care, I'll take any kind of Batch BC wants to be.

[connected to BC as have Friendly Fires on my iPod like so many others do ]

Wouldn't I love to see this walking into my kitchen tomorrow morning...

LetUsPrey Tue 03-Jul-12 21:01:51

Oh yes please! In fact, DH is out - he can walk into my kitchen right now if he wants.

<closes eyes>
<wishes hard>
<opens eyes>
<sees dishes and no BC>

LetUsPrey Tue 03-Jul-12 22:12:47

And whilst DH is out, I'm taking the opportunity to watch last night's episode of Marple I recorded following CaveMum's very kind alert!

Those links are fantastic NeedsAGreenCard.

Votes cast appropriatelygrin!

As they say, Vote early and vote often.

Not sure if they'll toss my vote (given my non-UK IP address), but no one can say I didn't try. smile

Will need to spend some more time this morning with those blogs. DS2 woke up at 5:15 and started wandering the halls, breaking a clay flowerpot on the stairs at 5:45, and DS1 was up and crying at 5:20 because he wet the bed. Maybe I can find some time later on to curl up in bed with the computer. If I'm really lucky, I might even get a BC dream out of it. (Hope springs eternal...)

LetUsPrey Wed 04-Jul-12 07:16:31

Hope your day calms down a bit NeedsAGreenCard.

Morning everyone courtesy of WAYWB

Good. Grief. Cumberbuddy what are you doing to me? Those lips...

IsSamNormansDad Wed 04-Jul-12 10:40:28

I'm also watching Miss Marple while DH is at work and kids away with MIL grin

Prey, did you get a look at the link embedded in that post?

Am I the only one yelling at her computer, "I want my sock back!!"? Yes? Whoops. :D

TheAddict Wed 04-Jul-12 19:58:54

Sorry about the job though Addict, is there anything on the horizon?

CaveMum Wed 04-Jul-12 22:13:40
LetUsPrey Wed 04-Jul-12 22:16:12

Boo for job. Hurrah for telling boss to stick it (I dream of that day). Big hurrah for hopefully progressing DS.

And what's this about a t-shirt?

Does this help?

TheAddict Wed 04-Jul-12 22:55:55

Oh, a picture of BC ALWAYS helps!

The CP teeshirt is one of the RedBubble ones - v nice present from future SiL. He kows how to charm me....

Nothing on job front. Boss on economy drive. TheAddict points out that lack of Inspiring But Insane Adult Lit tutor may have deleteriously affect on future Ofsted report.

Boss then queries (a) use of word 'deleteriously'; (b) whether Addict meant 'effect' rather than 'affect'. Addict laughs hollowly and says 'precisely'.

Benedict, sweetheart, am worried that am about to lose walk-in stationery cupboard....

LetUsPrey Wed 04-Jul-12 23:41:27

I've just trawled through the links on the last thread - I know, I know, I'm a selfless human being grin - to find this for us.

Night night.

Oh, sweet newborn baby Jesus, Prey, to do that to me right before I have to go to work!! Will have to work extra hard to mind the road during the 35 minute commute.

<fantasy mode goes into overdrive>

Now to just get the kids to their respective day places, then I can pop on "Let's Get It On" once I'm in the car alone with my dirty mind...Vavoom!

CaveMum Thu 05-Jul-12 07:19:22

Hmmm, finger-porn grin

Lara Pulver tweeted this last night grin

Addict, will keep fingers crossed for you that you find a new job quickly, better than the last.

Commute was uneventful except for the moron behind the wheel in the lorry in front of me who insisted on doing 60 kph in 70 khp AND 100 kph zones. I kept Zen by thinking of that finger tracing he was doing on that chair and thinking of places he could do that to me.

Was watching A Study In Pink again yesterday and was irritated by the pill thing. I mean, was I the only one waiting for Sherlock to just take one and say he's been building up an immunity to iocaine powder? (Sorry, The Princess Bride is one of my favourite films.) I wonder what BC would do with the Westley/Pirate Roberts role. Of course, I would selflessly offer to play Buttercup, except in my version, she would kick Humperdinck's ass herself. But to hear that voice whisper "As you wish..." <melt>

LetUsPrey Thu 05-Jul-12 18:40:48

Oooh putting BC with the role of Wesley in The Princess Bride. Nicegrin. He'd have never left to go off on his quest!

Of course he wouldn't have left. I would have either tied him to the bed or he would be so enraptured of me that he wouldn't want to leave!

See what I mean about FantasyLand??? I think I may have already taken up permanent residence...

LetUsPrey Thu 05-Jul-12 19:56:32

Do you know what's annoying? I never dream about BC. I mean, I think about him a lot, but no dreams. Watched the tennis last night and saw Ferrer's interview after losing. I thought he was really sweet and seemed like such a nice person. Good looking and obviously fit, but not for me.

Had a dream where I ended up in bed with Ferrer where he demonstrated his abilities, and I'm not talking about tennis.

But BC? Nothing. S'not fair.

Prey, if it makes you feel any better, I've only had one (night) dream about him (which was pretty damn good). Was plenty irked when DS2 woke me out of that one.

Now daydreams on the other hand....LOTS of those. (But I suppose everyone here is in the same boat.)

And you know what they say about dreams, most of them we don't remember. So it could well be that you have dreamt about BC, just that you don't remember. (How very cruel!!)

CaveMum Fri 06-Jul-12 08:04:57

The Hobbit has finally wrapped according to Peter Jackson [squee].

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Jul-12 08:25:41
LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 06-Jul-12 09:14:50

Prey, those Birthday pics are lovely. He looks very agreeably casual and dishevelled.

I've never had a sexy-time dream about him either, if it helps. He has appeared in several strange work-anxiety dreams though hmm

grin at David Ferrer sex dream. I once dreamt about being Andy Murray's girlfriend. No funny business (we were talking about tennis and press conferences!) but it was very intimate and sweet. He was luvly <goes girly> blush

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Jul-12 16:34:10

In the dream, before the sexytime shenaningans with Ferrer, I was in a queue with Tsonga and we had a lovely chat. He was terribly nice and smiley.

Love his hair in this shot

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 06-Jul-12 16:38:00

Oh my giddy aunt, that hair is SO grabbable ruffle-able!

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Jul-12 22:10:51
binkydink Fri 06-Jul-12 22:49:54

Rachel (original WAYWB admin) was at the show today - if you see any of the shots before the play, that's her funky umbrella keeping him dry. Lucky thing!

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Jul-12 22:54:06

I have been admiring her mustache?moustache? umbrella and being extremely jealous that she was sheltering the divine BC! It sounds and looks like it was completely manic.

I've actually just been viewing the archives on WAYWB and giggling away at the captions. I was just about to post this and say that I probably won't understand much of it either when it's finally shown on Sky Movies and will end up doing the same thing!

binkydink Fri 06-Jul-12 23:03:06

Yeah, she was in the right place at the right time, it seems! From what she's told me, he was rushed but pleasant, understandably he was probably "in the zone" ready for the performance and didn't want to spend too long outside.

Wish I could have gone!

LetUsPrey Fri 06-Jul-12 23:09:59

Me too. I follow a few BC blogs on Tumblr but WAYWB is my favourite. The photos are excellent, but it's the writing that makes it what it is - both old and new admins!

I am sitting next to DH and have angled myself away from him so I could click on that link. grin Those cheekbones! I want to ... oh I can't say at this time of the day whilst sober.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 07-Jul-12 15:58:34

Did anyone listen to Richard Bacon? Or know if Benedict's bits <snurk> have been clipped and posted anywhere on the web? I loathe Richard B and can't face listening to the whole three-hour show ...

Oh, how fab does Look Back in Anger sound? Benedict is SO fabulous on stage.

binkydink Sat 07-Jul-12 16:32:24

from all accounts he wasn't actually on richard bacon. someone from sherlockology listened to the whole thing and said he wasn't on. maybe he just didn't have time with the play?

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sat 07-Jul-12 16:39:37

shock sad

Oh well. I did think it sounded like a busy day with the play as well ...

He's not very good at saying no or having a break from work, is he? Suppose we ought to be glad that he was sensible for once!

LetUsPrey Sat 07-Jul-12 20:18:22

Did they cut Richard Bacon's show short or something yesterday or just not air it at all? I may have dreamt that.

The Look Back in Anger performance sounds amazing. I read - probably on WAYWB grin - that BC/his character cried, at appropriate times obviously. Don't know what it is about that, but I'd like to see him in something where he cries. I know he cried at the end of Sherlock but I want more IYSWIM. That all sounds a bit strange really hmm.

CaveMum Sat 07-Jul-12 20:20:44

I think BC was supposed to phone in for an interview.

I asked Cumberbatchweb, they confirmed that he was not on sad

CaveMum Sat 07-Jul-12 20:22:01

Have you seen the YouTube video where he sobs? I can't remember what it is called. It's a short drama with no dialogue. Tis very sad sad

LetUsPrey Sat 07-Jul-12 20:26:34

Oh yes, CaveMum, Inseparable isn't it? Forgot about that. Made me cry.

There's two of him in that - how on earth did I forget about that one? grin

LetUsPrey Sat 07-Jul-12 22:42:15

Ooh yes NeedsAGreenCard I like that too.

A shot from a recording of Cabin Pressure. Put Cabin Pressure on in the car today for me DS1. Listened to Ipswich, Gdansk and Ottery St Mary. I was laughing, DS1 was giggling, DS2 fell asleep (but he's exempt because he's only 5). DH barely cracked a smile. Miserable sod.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 08-Jul-12 12:12:10

YEEAARRRGGGHHHH...DS1 and DH are out and DS2 just woke early while I'm trying to listen to this. And since he's almost 3, he will. not. shut. up.

DS2, Lesson number one for today is....Do Not Interrupt The Batch.

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 19:10:53

From atropabelladonna's tumblr

I ... I .... I .... phwooooaaaaarrrrrrr [shallow]

delurks I saw Look Back in Anger, was incredible, he was almost out of his seat several times, did crying, anger, love, tenderness. Didn't need anything more, rest of cast were good, but he was in another league.

And so bloody gorgeous too, even better in real life.

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 20:55:27

envy x a lot.

I won't even attempt to explain why I think he's such a brilliant actor, but he definitely has "it".

And as far him being "bloody gorgeous, even better in real life" <sigh>

He has 'it' in spades.

I swear we made eye contact on a few occasions <faints> he may not have been able to see anything with the lights though

Have fuzzy pic from afterwards <tries link>

Prey, am so jealous. Want to find a legal copy of Cabin Pressure as an MP3 (at our house we have a moratorium on buying actual CDs), but neither the UK nor the German Amazon site offers it. Pooh. May have to break down and order the "hard copy", but the local site says 1-3 weeks before it's even ready to ship. <collapses in hysterical sobs>

And thanks for that link. Had to click on it while I was alone, lest I give myself away to DH...

Void, jealous. Oh, so jealous. And fuzzy pics are WAY better than no pics at all. Welcome aboard!

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 22:05:43

Took me a while to work out why you were jealous of me there for a bit NeedsAGreenCard, but I scrolled back and realised it was because I'd been listening to Cabin Pressure! I got my episodes of Cabin Pressure off but I'm not sure whether it would work for you. These are the terms and conditions.

VoidofDiscovery - I'd definitely stick with thinking there was eye contact. I'm partway to convincing myself there was eye contact between me and BC (?BC and I? - I'm never sure) when I went to watch Frankenstein, and that was in the cinema!

Prey, as a former German language and EFL teacher, I can assure you it's "between BC and me". "BC and I" would work only as the subject of a sentence, not as a direct object or indirect object.

<geek mode off>

Thanks for the link, will try that tomorrow while trying to keep my sanity. DS2 is turning three (when did that happen?!) and we have a mess of people coming over...and they have forecast rain. Lots of rain. GAH.

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 22:46:11

I need some kind of cheat sheet for the whole I/me thing. I mean, my sentence construction sometimes isn't the best, but I like to get basic grammar, punctuation and spelling spot on, or try to at least grin.

Happy birthday for DS2 tomorrow!

I have had DS1 trying to put ideas to me by quoting the role play thing from the Ipswich episode of Cabin Pressure. "Hey chief...". He's even got DS2 saying it, although he just likes the part when he can make the noise of a plane crashing into a mountain.

I'm supposed to be sewing the sleeve on DS1' school sweatshirt, instead of which I've just been trawling through various Tumblr sites looking at pictures of BC. blush

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 22:47:43

As I was saying, I like to get punctuation spot on. Sadly, I don't seem to be able to type or read. DS1's school sweatshirt.

No worries, it's late. (Or it is at least here.) And the link worked!! Hallelujah! Happy Dance time! Now I know how I'm going to deal with the drive to work this week. I'm especially excited about Ep. 2, seeing as my hometown is their destination. smile (And I know just where I'd take him to get him madly drunk on cheap but potent cocktails...)

Thanks for the birthday wishes. DS2 now walks around saying "Love you too" without me having said anything right before. It's so cute. Almost makes up for the extra stretch marks and internal mangling I got from bearing him. (He was 3 weeks early and over 4 kgs at birth.) I love him to pieces but he is definitely the reason I told my doctor, "I ain't doing this sh*t again." Well, perhaps I wasn't that vulgar, but something along those lines.

Prey, the cheat is quite simple. Just remove the other partyfrom your sentence and ask yourself if "I" or "me" would sound right.

LetUsPrey Sun 08-Jul-12 23:51:18

"Brush away" the hair? How about grab and pull? Meow.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 09-Jul-12 10:44:07

It is screaming for me someone to run their hands through it, pull it back to join the rest of his hair, and hold on grin

<steams a bit>

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 09-Jul-12 15:59:06

I love the commentary, particularly 'This has been placed TOP on my list of Wank Banks.' grin

Anyone got that pic of him in A Scandal ... when he's on the floor being whipped and teased by Irene Adler? That's the best sex face I've seen yet, but sadly Google Images is failing me at the mo.

LetUsPrey Mon 09-Jul-12 18:47:21

Is this the sort if thing you meant LadyClarice?

<fans self>

Oh my. I think it's the mouth slowly opening that does me in.

I needed that after this afternoon. Seven children at DS2's birthday party. Thankfully the rain held off until we sat down to eat (we stayed dry). One 2-year-old, 2 three-year-olds and three five-year olds, ALL BOYS. And no one was injured. I think that deserves a treat.

And because I'm so generous, I'm going to share with all of you. :D

LetUsPrey Mon 09-Jul-12 22:19:59

Oooh I saw that the other day NeedsAGreenCard. I had to look at it several times in a careful and considered approach to Tumblr viewing. Dedication, that's what you need, mmhmm.

I did a party last year for DS1, age 10. There was DS1 and six of his 9 and 10 year old friends. I will not be repeating the experience. Glad DS2 had a lovely

Apparently I couldn't count last night. There were indeed seven children, just that there were two two-year-olds. I swear I wasn't drinking last night.

Just saw this. Oh. My. God. The hair. And the suit. And everything else in between. <sigh>

<stutter> I...I...I am not going to get anything done today. Will be busy watching this over and over and over

The first one kills me.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 10-Jul-12 09:11:47

Can't wait, Prey! But take your time. We're patient, we'll wait. grin

CaveMum Tue 10-Jul-12 21:59:40

Yes, we need a steady stream of Cumberbatchness to drool over. Don't want to build up an immunity after all wink

LetUsPrey Tue 10-Jul-12 23:00:09

Sorry for lateness. CaveMum I was wondering where you'd got to!

Anyway, I've had to wait for DH to go to bed.

First I've just found this on the benedict--cumberbatch tumblr which would be enough to make me interested in politics

As is this

He's been doing interviews for Parade's End - airing I think 2nd September. These are on Twitter so there's a very good chance you've seen them. However, one tweet was "Was funny, erudite and swore much more than expected. Which was excellent". I don't know why but I find the idea of him swearing really ... I don't want to say hot but my brain has gone on strike so hot it is.

Right (gosh this is going to be such a let down). Place the first tweet from the following tumblr blogged tweet in your imagination. To be completely honest, right now I'm imagining he's talking about me grin

LetUsPrey Tue 10-Jul-12 23:03:43

Bugger. That second link duplicates the first. I meant this

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 11-Jul-12 11:04:37

Has everyone seen this?

Nice article, although old picture. It says Parade's End is airing 'later this month' and it's the August edition of InStyle ... <cancels Aug holiday>

CaveMum Wed 11-Jul-12 15:34:51

Sounds like BC's Star Trek character might have been revealed. Karl Urban let slip the words "Gary Mitchell" in a recent interview. It means nothing to me, but I'm told it is significant.

Of course it may also be an elaborate plot to throw us all off the scent!

OK, time to let my Geek show...

Synopsis of episode with Gary Mitchell

CaveMum, I agree that it might well be a red herring, but people have been known to let things slip. I guess we just have to wait and hit the cinema next spring.

Prey -- about that tweet. I so wish there was audio of that quote. Because I would totally put that on repeat on my player....

LetUsPrey Wed 11-Jul-12 21:07:51

Can you imagine an audio clip of that? I can. I so wish there was one.

Tweeted by Cumberbatchweb "Hasbro has purchased the license to produce toys based on the ‪#StarTrek‬ sequel. Action figure Ben!"

Anyone up for a bit of shopping?grin

I don't know, Prey, do those toys vibrate?

Oh dear, did I just say that? Well, yes, yes I did. Hmm....

LetUsPrey Wed 11-Jul-12 22:25:12

Remember that clip of him singing a bit of a song in an interview "Come with me, and you'll be, in a world of pure imagination"?

Waaaaaaaayyyy ahead of you there Benedictgrin

Oh yes, I saw that one too. And imagine how I squealed when I watched "Willy Wonka" (the Gene Wilder version from my childhood) with my kids this weekend.

I melted on the couch like a Wonka bar left out in the sun. (Although actually having the Gene Wilder visual worked more like a cold shower. shudder)

Stuff I want to see BC in (besides my bedroom): romantic comedy, musical. There must be something out there on the horizon.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Thu 12-Jul-12 11:32:39

I'm really disappointed that he chose a Willy Wonka song for his showtune moment.

I would much rather he'd gone for something from Chicago, Guys and Dolls or Cabaret. Sorry BC and any of my threadmates who like it, but I think 'Pure Imagination', and in fact the whole WW musical, is naffola.

BC singing 'Luck Be A Lady', 'Razzle Dazzle' or 'Wilkommen', on the other
hand ...

<drifts off>

LetUsPrey Thu 12-Jul-12 18:22:32

No idea of the songs from WW to be honest. It was just that line he sang about going to a world of pure imagination. nothing pure about it grin

I think I'd have "accidentally" tumbled on to the bed taking him with me

Here's the link to "Pure Imagination" from the original film:

And I far prefer the rumbling baritone from dear Benedict... <sigh>

CaveMum Thu 12-Jul-12 19:32:16

LetUsPrey Thu 12-Jul-12 22:36:40

Saw that the other night NeedsAGreenCard but was so distracted by it, I forgot to post grin

and I've asked MN to delete my post blush

How pathetic is it that I've kick-started my weight-loss plan since discovering BC? I mean, I got my copy of Sherlock at the beginning of May, and since then I've actually wanted to get on the treadmill. 6 kg down so far, 5 more to go.

Because we all know I'm going to fly to London and meet him randomly in some bookshop and he'll take me back to his flat where we'll ravish each other for hours.

My god, I need to get out more often.

LetUsPrey Thu 12-Jul-12 22:52:36

I have no idea what you're talking about NeedsAGreenCard. I have in no way become less squeamish about small spiders and creepy crawlies because I wouldn't want to appear like a complete wuss in front of Steve Backshall should we ever have some one on one time in an outdoor situation and a spider appears. Oh no, not at all. (Disclaimer: anything bigger than a small spider/creepy crawly will still get the shit beaten out of it/I will run screaming from it).

Nor have I sought to improve my reading habits or started looking on chocolate as a treat rather than a food group on the off chance I bump into BC.

Sit with us on the Saddo Bench NeedsAGreenCard. We've been here a while.

Thanks, Prey. That bench looks comfy.

Hope everyone well.

LadyClariceCannockMonty Fri 13-Jul-12 12:32:45

Hi sloppygirl!

It was probably me. There is a doc on the making of Frankenstein – it was made around the time of the stage play but not shown. I emailed Channel 4 about it recently like a weirdo and they replied:

'Dear LadyClarice

Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding FRANKENSTEIN: The Making of a Myth.

We appreciate your interest in this documentary, there are plans to broadcast it later in the year. However, at this time the exact date has not been added to our schedule, as this is only published two weeks in advance.

Please check with your regular listings guide and the Channel 4 website over the next few months for the most up to date information.

Yours etc etc
Nice man'

So fingers crossed!

Hi all,

It's reading stuff like that that makes me want to chuck it all and move to the UK.

I'm on my phone and can't cut/paste, but there's a lovely image of BC on horseback over at the Cumberbuddy tumblr. Commentary is, as usual, priceless.

LetUsPrey Fri 13-Jul-12 17:47:42

You mean this one NeedsAGreenCard with the dodgy jacket?

Tweeted by Cumberbatchweb: "Had a delightful chat with Benedict's parents & his mother mentioned he is dressed in head to toe leather in Star Trek!"

Chocolate stopped being a food group when my metabolism started to slow and my backside and thighs started to expand. Tisn't fair. <sulk>

LetUsPrey Fri 13-Jul-12 19:26:06

Interview from the Cheltenham Festival thingy he did. Have only watched half of it and that was with the sound down. I couldn't take my eyes off his hands, and his mouth, although I wanted to ruffle his hairgrin. Did I mention I love his hands?

Thanks, Prey for the link. Yes, that jacket is...questionable at best. Couldn't see that on the phone with the glare outside (during the 3 seconds of sunlight we had today in between cloudbursts....)

Thanks for the link to the interview. The hair, though, needs serious help. There is a fine line between well-groomed pomade (e.g. Mad Men) and slicked-back pimp. And if I'm seeing properly, it looks like he's got an awfully high forehead (don't want to say receding hairline, but...), and that style isn't helping. Ruffling at the very least is necessary. Need any help there? No? Damn, didn't think so.

Have The Hollow Crown: Henry IV parts I and II lined up to watch, with Tom Hiddleston, who is IMO ALMOST up there with Benedict as an actor. That's great as far as it goes, but much as I love and admire Hiddleston I don't have the added bonus of a raging crush on him. Which just adds a leeeetle ... edge to watching a superlative male TV performance, no?

Prey, that first link is breathtaking.

There you are! Just when I thought I was going to get BC all to myself.

Was just thinking the same thing LadyClarice. I've done the ironing whilst watching A Study in Pink but I want some new BC stuff. Although whilst watching it, I was thinking "How did I not see it? How??"

Saw that interview too CaveMum. I'm getting to the stage where I don't care who he's playing. All I know is he's evil, superstrong, fighty and wearing tight clothes - apparently leather at some stage. That'll be enough for me.

CaveMum Sun 15-Jul-12 15:39:59

Oh yes, I heard about the leather. Hmmm...........

TheAddict Sun 15-Jul-12 16:16:05

The Diary Of Bridgend Jones continues:

Number of sons home this weekend: 100% (v v wonderful)
Number of future SiL's staying at Chez Addict this weekend: 100% (v v enjoyable)
Number of Primus's future MilLs arriving to stop "for a few days": 100% (indescribably awful prospect)
Number of Primus's future MilLs who eat no meat other than chicken: 100% (what is the matter with this woman??)
Number of Addicts who are considering bringing home one of the stray chickens who wander round the allotment, throwing it at Primus's future MilL and shouting 'Well, you kill and cook it then": 100%
Number of Addicts in deperate need of a good seeing to by Mr Cumberbatch: 100% (no change there, then)

Anyone got a good, impressive (and easy) chicken recipe??

The Addict

LetUsPrey Sun 15-Jul-12 16:21:38

Depends what you want to do with the chicken. I can ask DH when he gets home if you want. My "easy chicken" recipe involves going to M&S and following instructions which start with "pierce film lid".

How's this? His hands grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Sun 15-Jul-12 17:53:03

I don't think you can beat a good roast chicken. Half a lemon up its bum and some butter and olive oil rubbed into the skin.

Rather than the boring classic potatoes-and-veg accompaniment, how about some nice rice/quinoa/couscous with chopped spring onion, red peppers and herbs, and a yoghurt-based tzatsiki-type thing?

LetUsPrey Sun 15-Jul-12 19:03:47

Do make sure the chicken's dead before the lemon goes up us bum otherwise that fecker'll peck your eyes out. Move over Delia.

How. Did. I. Not. See. It. In. Series. One.

<heads to LadyClarice's for dinner>

LetUsPrey Sun 15-Jul-12 19:04:47

Ruined that slightly. Goes up its bum.

CaveMum Sun 15-Jul-12 21:12:04

I know it's a Matt Smith post (but it's my thread dammit and I'll post what I like!), but how cute is this????

Apparently it happened at Comic-Con yesterday [melts]

LetUsPrey Sun 15-Jul-12 21:37:01

That is sooo sweet smile.

Will be spending the morning fantasizing that that's my ring on his finger and he's giving me that look.

The belt and the shirt are just begging to be undone...

CaveMum Mon 16-Jul-12 08:00:53

Dear god! That photo is bordering on indecent! Come hither me indeed grin

LetUsPrey Mon 16-Jul-12 08:09:00

I was just going to post that link grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty Mon 16-Jul-12 09:48:52

'before the lemon goes up us bum'. I read that to myself in a Derbyshire accent. Made me gringringrin

Christ, that picture's horny.

I know. It's the hips and the possibility of pocket pool.

I really need to stop checking the Cumberbuddy tumblr when the kids are up and about.

I mean, try explaining this to two five-year-old boys and why you're laughing hysterically while blushing.

Hello fellow cumber-obsessives! Haven't posted for ages as I feared I might be neglecting rl in favour of constant staring and drooling. Loving all your latest links. I'll try to come up with some of my own soon. Meanwhile, dh is away for three nights... so that'll be all three episodes of Sherlock series 2 then grin

How about this ? Liking the neck.

LetUsPrey Mon 16-Jul-12 19:13:52

What is this Real Life of which you speak?

Lickable neck grin.

Real Life? Not too sure, but in my case it seems to have 2 dc in it. Who apparently prefer me to be playing with them rather than licking staring at a computer screen. Bloody unreasonable if you ask me. wink

Chez Addict
Monday Night And Full Of Gin

Dear Benedict

How about a Damn Good Shag

That Bloody Woman is driving me mad.

I need your body now

She has been in my house for half a day and has already insulted me, my family and my cooking. And I have no idea when - if ever - she is leaving.

I am still having incredibly filthy fantasies about you - how about trying some of them out?

Even her own son is refusing to speak to her.

Amazingly enough, Minimus has been driven so far as to tell her Not To Speak To His Mum Like That.

Perhaps she does have her uses.

Take me.

Take me away from all this.

The Addict

PS: Were you impressed by the way that, when I met you this weekend at the Cheltenham Poetry and Piano Festival - eat your heart out girls - I managed to refrain from (a) ravishing you on the spot (b) descending into a quivering wreck?

I do not think, however, that this necessarily prevented you from ravishing me on the spot. But thank you for admiring my Cabin Pressure T-shirt.

If only you had admired the filling of the T-shirt.

Key in the usual place. Please remember not to let the tortoise out.

TheAddict Mon 16-Jul-12 23:55:43

Please note girls: I really really did meet him at the end of the Poetry and Piano recital - and he is bloody gorgeous and such a gentleman!

And somehow I managed not to make a complete and utter fool of myself.

I am now the proud possessor of a signed photograph of the Mighty Cumberlord.

Although personally I could have killed Primus - even though he did somehow get me a long way ahead of the queue - for saying 'This is my Mum'.

But thank you BC for saying 'Surely not? You must have been a child bride.'

Melting Addict.

Totally Marshmallowy Melting Addict.

CaveMum Tue 17-Jul-12 06:41:29

Did you get any photos?????

LetUsPrey Tue 17-Jul-12 08:14:18

TheAddict there are not enough envy faces in the world to express how I'm feeling right now. I am so happy for you <gritted teeth>

But yes, did you get any photos?

TheAddict Tue 17-Jul-12 08:47:38

No photos, I'm afraid - I didn't even know we were going there - Primus (bless his little cotton socks) took me to the event as a surprise treat, and the idiot, adorable child never thought to take a camera: and my mobile is an elderly brick without a photo function.

It was a lovely reading - World War One poetry and piano music composed in that era, and I shall never be able to read 'Pro Patria Mori' again without hearing BC's voice.

I wondered why Primus had insisted I wore 3" heels, but it brought me up to a reasonable height - just about the right height to nestle my head on BC's shoulder, actually, if I hadn't restrained myself - oh god, why did I restrain myself and the three of us chatted for a few minutes about the poetry and how beautifully he reads it and I said that it was so nice that after the way his career's taken off recently he's still doing things like the festival and BC grinned oh my god. he's got a beautiful grin and then Primus mentioned that I trained as a musician and we talked about Debussy for a few moments Jeez, he's so intelligent and that was it, really. And when we said, well, we'd better not monopolize him and thank you for the photo and for talking to us, he thanked us for going and said it was lovely to talk to us and sounded convincing

I was incapable of coherent speech all the way home.

CaveMum Tue 17-Jul-12 09:16:06

Again with the envy

Very pleased for you though Addict, no really. You've had a rough time with Minimus so it's great the Primus is looking after his mum grin

Addict, glad to hear you had a marvelous. I would have been reduced to mush. And good on Primus!!

And for the rest of us, we can just watch this a few hundred times or until someone makes us stop.

...time. A marvelous time. Must stop MNing when DS2 is home sick. Stupid canker sore on the tip of his tongue that is making him oh-so-cranky. sad

TheAddict Tue 17-Jul-12 10:01:35

Oh, and Primus - much to my embarrassment blush - mentioned the time that I managed to iron my arm when there was an unexpected clip of the divine Mr C on the telly - and BC looked quite worried for a second and then started to giggle.

He has a gorgeous giggle.

CaveMum Tue 17-Jul-12 10:05:47

Alright addict, stop rubbing it in wink

Prey m'dear, do I remember rightly that you are up in Scotland? I read that BC will be at the Edinburgh TV Festival in a few weeks for a Sherlock Masterclass, along with Sue Vertue, Stephen Moffat and Mark Gattis. Not sure how you get tickets but you should investigate - quickly!

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 17-Jul-12 10:48:12

LetUsPrey Tue 17-Jul-12 19:07:23

From Cumberbuddy tumblr. I too am jealous of a door.

CaveMum Tue 17-Jul-12 22:17:09

Right, you all need to head over to WAYWB and complete this survey (click on the post to link to the survey itself). Make sure you all say you discovered the blog via BCAS on Mumsnet grin

LetUsPrey Tue 17-Jul-12 22:53:01

Done! grin

Vote early! Vote often!

I'm not sure why TV Line has deemed Sherlock to be a Bad Boy, but BC needs our vote to trounce that boy toy from Dawson's Creek (or whatever show he's doing these days).

Prey, I saw that door link too. But may I just say I ruined it for myself because all I could think was, "The fingerprints! Now I have to clean the glass again! Use the damn door knob!" Yep, definitely a mother.

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 19:14:58
LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 19:40:17

Can't figure out how to vote on that poll. hmm

Fingerprints never crossed my mind. I don't have the housework/cleaning gene - much to my mother's chagringrin.

And CaveMum - doesn't he just look perfect in that picture? Sigh indeed.

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 19:50:56

From the SocratesIsRight tumblr:

Martin Freeman has said re Sherlock "Three new episodes will be shot over four months, the actor reveals. Speaking at a Comic-Con press conference to promote his role in The Hobbit films, Freeman said: “[We film] in January until about April, I think.” He added: “It’s a pleasure for us to do. We love it!”

Mark Gatiss has already confirmed he is writing an adaptation of ‘The Adventure of the Empty House’ for the third series.

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 19:51:15

S'alright Prey, the poll has closed - Sherlock won grin We'll wait to see who he goes up against next.

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 19:54:44

I heard about the filming last week. Sqqquuueeeeee indeed!

Sherlock goes up against Dean thingy from Supernatural next.

Problem is, Spike from Buffy is on the other side of the poll, so in theory the two could meet in the Final. I'll be genuinely torn as to who to vote for confused

IsSamNormansDad Wed 18-Jul-12 20:22:51

BC doesn't seem to be at the Edinburgh TV festival - at least not for the Sherlock thing sad
I was actually really excited about almost certainly going to that!
Hope you're all well.

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 20:32:40

Cumberbatchweb has posted about it on Timblr. Turns out it is not a fan event, but an industry event. You need to work in tv to get a ticket. More here

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 20:34:11

CaveMum - shock There is no dilemma <stern face>. You vote for Sherlock <very stern face>

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 20:36:15

BC however looks very good! Very Argentine Tango grin

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 20:41:39

There's a bed. There's Benedict. I would definitely not be dancing on the bed in that situationwink

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 20:48:59

Bigger picture Prey - you stand on the bed, get to press yourself up against him, then "oops", lose you balance and tumble down, taking BC with you grin

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 21:04:57

get to press yourself up against him .....

The very thought of that is making me quite hot and flustered blush

CaveMum, you forgot to mention that the clothes magically disappear on the way down.

Just had a look at the other photos from that shoot. For someone who claims not to like the "posh alien" look, he sure is sporting it in the first picture. And the third one...don't like that woman's "he's mine now" thing going on. Not at all. (Never mind that he looks like he's thinking, "OK, I'm done now, can I leave?")

TheAddict Wed 18-Jul-12 21:38:40

Blimey, I'd kick his feet from underhim and still managed to land face up on the mattress before him... grin

Now here's a question. Non BC related.

As Big Bad Boss has decided to not to renew my contract (which ends next week) because the money isn't available, why is there an internal vacancy for a much better job, on much more money and which I am the only person working in the unit qualified to teach ??

And do I complete the application form, or just tell him where to stick his job?

The Addict

By all means, apply. You can always apply for a different job elsewhere. Would you be working for BBB in the new position?

I wouldn't tell him to stick it (no matter how tempting it may be). You never know of people's connections. (Besides, it's far more fun to watch them screw up, and then you'd have a front-row seat, right?)

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 22:09:31

I say apply, just to watch him squirm grin

CaveMum Wed 18-Jul-12 22:41:17

BC at tonight's Dark Knight Returns Premiere. SexyBatch!

Benedict, if you're reading this, your birthday present is here waiting for you in my bedroom. Do pop over to collect it when you have a spare few days minute wink

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 23:29:41

Apply for the job. <gavel>

How insanely amazingly gorgeous does he look at that premiere although let the curls come back

Benedict you'll probably want to spend your birthday with family so, rather conveniently, DH is out Friday evening so you can call round then. Thanks ever so grin

TheAddict Wed 18-Jul-12 23:32:27

GreenCard and CaveMum

The interesting thing is that it would be the same Big Bad Boss... and there are few jobs in this sector in my area ... and it's only advertised within the unit ... and the closing date is this Friday... and interviews are next week, and the Line Manager tells me they're desperate for someone to start ASAP ...

There was a trick question on the Job Spec. 'Are you aware of the requirements of the Adult Education Inspectorate?' Well, I would be if it still existed...

TheAddict Wed 18-Jul-12 23:44:33

The other interesting fact is that Potential Line Manager wasn't in the least surprised that I'd asked to see her to find out a few more facts: and, despite the fact that the new vacancy has a salary which is whole 10K more than I earn now (and I'm paid pro-rata, for term time only, at the moment. so probably nearer 12K more), she was insistent on telling me that there would be a salary review after 6 months.

I forebore (is there such a word - hell, I only teach literacy!) from doing a Martin Crieff and saying I'd do the job for half the going rate. Or nothing.

If I get an interview I shall wear my Cabin Pressure Tshirt under the Interview Blouse to bring me luck.

LetUsPrey Wed 18-Jul-12 23:58:39

Definitely do that. Keep us posted. You could always approach BBB thus "Hey Chief..." grin

TheAddict Thu 19-Jul-12 00:06:19

Hey, BBB, I may be wrong (I must learn to say that with a straight face) but I can't help noticing that you want to make me jobless.

This makes me feel - unemployed.

How about if I put in for this new job?

LetUsPrey Thu 19-Jul-12 00:12:32

And how does that sound to you? grin (Very good is the answer)

Listened to Ottery St Mary on the way home. Still can't figure out how he makes "jelly babies to manual" sound so sexy.

And with that thought, good night!

TheAddict Thu 19-Jul-12 07:54:01

Or indeed how he makes the word 'pink' do damned orgasmic.

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 08:23:59

Saw those Prey, it is adorable that he's mixed up his navy and black again - probably got dressed in a hurry. Sorry about that wink

A tweet has been posted this morning from one of BC's friends thanking the fans for the money they have raise in honour of his birthday (over £7,000 so far):

"The amount of effort, love, joy and celebration as well as money raised! I'm speechless. Pls pass on my love and gratitude. Thank you!! Bx"

[melts, again]

LetUsPrey Thu 19-Jul-12 08:31:43

grin at the reason for the clothes mix up. He left his other jacket at mine.

Was just going to post that tweet. Great minds CaveMum, great minds!

Right - off to work.

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 09:54:42

Just has a look on Twitter at all the BC birthday tweets. Hilarious! My personal facts so far:

"Wanda Ventham & Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch, thank you for not using contraception"

"Dear Benedict Cumberbatch. Your face, Sir, makes me weep with happiness. Congratulations on your existence"

"And lo, a god amongst mortals was born on this day, and he is really hot! Happy Birthday Benedict Cumberbatch!"

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 09:55:32

Bloody autocorrect! Personal favs, not facts!

Prey, thanks for those links. In the BlackbirdBatch, I am particularly fond of the one with him with the Sharpie.

As for him mixing up black and navy, maybe he needs better lighting where ever he gets dressed?

And thank you Addict and Prey for the Cabin Pressure reference. I was eating lunch when I read that and almost made half my sandwich come out my nose. <ouch> Am looking forward to the drive home, when I can finish "Limerick" and start on "Molokai". grin Poor Martin, he just needs seeing to. Often. <raises hand to volunteer>

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 13:58:36

Sherlock, BC and Martin F have all picked up Emmy nominations this afternoon grin

BC, if you need a date I might be able to squeeze you in!

sloppygirl Thu 19-Jul-12 14:10:00

I know it was a while ago now..but wonderful to MEET him..I would love to, and you sound like you were so in control. SO nice of Primus to think of you. I would be speechless if I met him..I know I would. It sounds like he was as lovely and charming and funny as we all thought..nay. KNEW..he would be.

TheAddict Thu 19-Jul-12 16:48:55

sloppygirl - I wouldn't say I was particularly in control, but after Primus had said 'This is my mum; she's seen almost all your work' I could hardly then ask BC if he'd mind if I ripped his clothes off...

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 18:32:30

John Finnemore has blogged about Cabin Pressure

Hopefully they will record and broadcast this year

This is what happens when DH and DS1 are out, DS2 is in bed and I really should be writing. I get distracted and start digging. Damn you, Google Image search.

The last picture did something else entirely to me. grin

DH will be out tomorrow night. What to do, what to do?

Emotional whiplash....going from wanting to cuddle him to wanting to ravish him in 0.3 seconds.

But I think we could all handle it. :D

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 22:05:44

Poor Martin sad

This picture is one of my favourite photoshoots. Back to his flat after a black-tie do, crack open a bottle of champagne and..........

CaveMum Thu 19-Jul-12 22:11:17

And before I go to bed, we must round off a celebration of BC's birthday with yet another picture of The Purple Shirt of Sex

Sweet dreams grin

LetUsPrey Thu 19-Jul-12 22:32:58

Amazing that Sherlock scored 13 Emmy Nominations, totally justified though of course.

NeedaGreenCard Did you get Cabin Pressure sorted? I see that it's available on CD with Series 2 to follow Great to see that series 4 is def happening.

Really must stop looking at this thread and clicking on the links. It's not helping at all <seeks therapy>

LetUsPrey Fri 20-Jul-12 19:17:44

Am I being dim and forgetful (very likely) or are you new to the BCAS VoidofDiscovery? If so, welcome, stay, enjoygrin. If not, apologies for me being a bit dimblush.

CaveMum squeeeeee indeed. Benedict, some of that money was mine. DH is out tonight so you can call round to "thank" me in person.

The way his mouth is slightly open is just .....

CaveMum Fri 20-Jul-12 19:59:39

He has an amazing mouth wink That cupid's bow gets me every time

LetUsPrey Fri 20-Jul-12 20:12:38

I could bite those lips.

Imagine what he can do with that mouth... <takes a moment to compose self>

Okay, I'm backgrin. Now, DH is out for the night. I'll be getting the DC to bed soon [deluded]. What should I watch?

I daren't risk Third Star as the way I am at the moment I will end up drowning in tears and snot.

I'm tempted to get the free month of Netflix via our Wii and watch Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but then I'd have to explain to DH why we suddenly have it when we had supposedly decided against it. hmm

So, it looks like it's Sherlock again.

VoidofDiscovery, yes I did, thanks for asking. I'm not sure if the German media overlords condone my (legally) downloading those eps from the BBC audio store, but the download went through, so I'm assuming yes. I just finished the Molokwai ep. yesterday, and I am loving every. single. second of the show. Season 3 is downloaded and ordered into its very own playlist on my phone.

Very, very pleased that Season 4 will be recorded (when all the planets align and those guys get in the same room together).

OK, I know this isn't WAYWO(livia), but did you see this post? Is Olivia sporting a Muffin Top? Yikes. I know hip hugging jeans are popular and all, but, um, they're not meant for everyone. <tugs shirt over jeans> Still, am very jealous that she got to share his bed all those years. As snarky as that one tumblr picture was, I don't think she deserved that. Hats off to both of them for keeping the details of that break-up under wraps.

CaveMum Fri 20-Jul-12 20:39:53

They were obviously very much in love, they were together 10 years after all. You wonder if the fact that he is desperate to become a father was behind the break up [speculates wildly]

But like you say, at least they were both dignified about it.

I was never keen on that Anna girl he dated for a while, and don't get me started on Lydia Whatserface [feeling bitchy]

LetUsPrey Fri 20-Jul-12 20:54:34

Don't get me started on feeling bitchygrin

I prefer to completely delude myself and ignore real life entirely as far as BC is concerned.

Off to supervise DC going to bed. <sigh>

CaveMum Fri 20-Jul-12 21:09:27
LetUsPrey Fri 20-Jul-12 21:48:37

And I totally imagine myself in this with him grin

I went for The Hounds of Baskerville in the end. Did the quickest tidy up ever so I could squeeze Benedict in <f'nar> before DH gets home.

CaveMum, my theory is that she wanted to concentrate on her career, he wanted kids => impasse.

That Anna-what's-her-face just doesn't look very nice. There, I've said it. The one picture I've seen of them together...I don't know. I sense zero chemistry. (Which may explain why they're not together anymore.) He looks like the ideal son-in-law and she looks like the daughter-in-law-from-hell (high manintenance). And as for the Heiress...No idea. Don't care. She sort of looks like Twiggy, just with less charisma (but perhaps more money).

Prey, I love, love, love that clip. The shot of his hand on her back does things to me that I don't want to put into writing. Even the armpit kiss is ... hoo, baby! (Can't imagine how many takes they needed to get that in the can...that poor, poor woman, having to make out with him over and over...with little on....) <fans self>

I must stop thinking about BC when on the treadmill. (Had to after chaperoning DS1's outing to an outdoor playplace, where lunch was two huge bratwursts and I consumed enough cafe au lait to power me through til 5 am...) Fantasy got away from me and I almost fell off. No injuries, though.

Here's to being bitchy -- sometimes snark is the only thing that helps.

Guilty as charged.

And for what it's worth, I'm not in love with that picture, not digging the hair or the jacket...The lapels look like they could take flight any moment.

As they say on WAYWB for science

CaveMum Sun 22-Jul-12 08:55:52

The bottom right one makes me come over all unnecessary wink

Found this blog at Tumblr, read through all of it last night:

There are enough pictures to keep us happy and the entries are also pretty good. Because I think we are all here for the °entire^ BC package. grin

CaveMum Sun 22-Jul-12 20:52:49
LetUsPrey Sun 22-Jul-12 21:29:35

Oh my stars and garters, this is so cute:

Except I highly doubt that BC's bum would be that big. I mean, That Coat is perfect and would probably make my backside look decent.

But I still wouldn't mind seeing that for real. BC, I mean, not my bum. I see enough of that already.

And as for this, I imagine the entire BCAS would volunteer to assist.

Happy Monday, all.

Remember how we were discussing showtunes recently and there was some disappointment about his choice of song? Found this on tumblr:

a song about tumblr by twotwentyonebbakerst:

come with me

and you’ll be

in a world

of sexual frustration

LetUsPrey Mon 23-Jul-12 15:50:45

Agree. He's simply not trying hard enough is he? grin

I quite like this. A lot.

Prey, that is like a 20-something version of Mr. Darcy.

It's like I wrote to a friend of mine, this post can best be likened to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (do they have those in the UK??). Their slogan in the 80's was "Two great tastes that taste great together."

Oh my, taken in this context, that sounds rather....racy. I like it.

LetUsPrey Mon 23-Jul-12 18:24:37
CaveMum Mon 23-Jul-12 18:36:50

Sqquuueeeee indeed! I think I'll convince DH to come along this time, I think he'd enjoy it and our local cinema was only half full so I can't see there being a problem getting tickets grin

Whilst I like the Colin & Benny hug, I much prefer the Matt & Benny hug. It just looks so genuine and hot

LetUsPrey Mon 23-Jul-12 18:40:32

I've read it right haven't I CaveMum? That does mean they're going to do some more screenings doesn't it? That's off NTLive's Tumblr but I've checked their website and they don't mention it. <frets>

I shall check my local cinemas on a regular basis. I am not missing out on CreatureBatch again. [determined]

I would like footage of a LetUsPrey & Benedict hug, although the rest of the film it wouldn't be for public viewing. grin

CaveMum Mon 23-Jul-12 18:43:19

That's how I read it. Might fire a question off to Cumberbatchweb about it, they seem fairly clued up on goings on.

CaveMum Mon 23-Jul-12 18:44:18

Ha, I say that and then see that Cumberbatchweb have already reblogged it!

LetUsPrey Mon 23-Jul-12 22:06:26
CaveMum Mon 23-Jul-12 22:06:56

I can't actually find the words to express how I feel about this

I believe I just made a noise along the lines of "Hhnnnggg" as my uterus did a backflip grin

LetUsPrey Mon 23-Jul-12 22:13:35

Now that's got to be quite a spooky x-post! grin

CaveMum Mon 23-Jul-12 22:25:38

Great minds Prey grin

Makes me want to jump right back into bed.

Screw it that it's been 'Shopped. Don't really care.

CaveMum Tue 24-Jul-12 07:20:11

Ha ha @ the pyjamas!

Just throwing something out there: do we think BC might be involved in the Olympics Opening Ceremony? Danny Boyle directing, David Arnold composing. Wouldn't BC be the obvious choice to do a voice over?

[wishful thinking]

I heard that too. Would be nice, although even if I were to watch it, it would be dubbed. Sometimes I think moving to Holland would be better for that kind of thing.

I read that about the nay-to-the-Frankenstein-DVD thing. I can't for the life of me think of a reason that the artists wouldn't want it, unless they're all on the edge of slipping into another tax bracket and that possible income would push them over. Maybe they'll do it at a later date, when they all need a little extra cash. (There goes that Fantasy Land thing again.)

Happy Tuesday, all.

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 08:04:34

It'd have to be pre-recorded though because he's back in the States isn't he?

There was something about them wantinig to retain the theatre experience re Frankenstein. Spoilsports.

CaveMum Tue 24-Jul-12 08:12:48

Has he definitely gone then? He was still in the UK last week but could well have headed off I suppose. I suspect all the voiceovers (if any) would be prerecorded for sound quality reasons [again speculates wildly]

Have to say I agree with the decision re Frankenstein on DVD, it is a theatrical experience and you just wouldn't get the same vibe. At least in a cinema you have a feeling of the scope and presence of the production.

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 09:06:48

How about if I promise to watch it on my SIL's enormous TV in silence with a few other people and with all the lights off?

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 24-Jul-12 09:23:34

He's in the US again now, yes, New Orleans (presumably for Slave).

On Frankenstein, I wouldn't think it's a tax thing. I suspect it's at least partly about the 'theatre experience', as you both say. I don't know how many plays do get filmed and released on DVD, does anyone? I would hazard a guess that it's not common. The NT Live brand is huge and global, and no doubt they want to protect it and keep it feeling like a special thing so that people are willing to pay for it.

Oh, I'd be willing to pay, just not for the flight/hotel/ground transport thing that goes along with the actual theatre ticket. Foo.

This post may help slightly with my sense of frustration at not being able to watch it. Good lord, the veins...

Oh, and Prey, we have a projector and a screen. Road trip? We do have wine...

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 14:26:24

Just saw that picture. Shirtless and shouty and angry and just so bloody passionate. <fans self>

Projector? Wine? <grabs passport>

LadyClariceCannockMonty Tue 24-Jul-12 15:07:55

We have a projector too, rather than a normal-sized telly.

Not sure DP would be THAT keen on watching Frankenstein on it though grin

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 15:46:59

LetusPrey Yes, new (did see him do Look Back in Anger and posted) I try to keep away and restrain my postings, wld need to delete history otherwise esp as my RL name is in profile ; )

Glad you got the downloads greencard, they are soooo brilliant.

Have you seen these? (click on pics for massive high resolution). Blimey, the detail...

He has started filming, tweet from fan who saw him in costume with his headphones in <sigh>

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 17:41:23

Oh my word VoidofDiscovery those pictures are just lush!

Aren't they? Almost as if he's in front of you...

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez Tue 24-Jul-12 21:04:51

I'm sorry I've not been on for a few threads BUT I've just seen a trailer for Parade's End on BBC1 and it looked awesome!!!! All it said was "coming soon" sad but grin

Prey, oh my. That's....something. (As in "Something I want here RIGHT NOW.") The curl. The stare, the shirt, the open legs....oh god, I'd better stop right now or else I'm going to be a puddle of goo on the floor.

Whoops, too late.

Fantasy will be working overtime tonight.

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 21:25:31

I've just spent a very enjoyable few minutes looking at all those photos in your link VoidofDiscovery without the risk of DH being able to look over my shoulder. That little beauty spot on his neck is just begging for me to kiss it. smile

Glad you liked the picture NeedsAGreenCard - it is rather nice isn't it? grin

Seashells - nice to see you again! Was it the trailer with lots of other BBC new programmes on it? BC featured quite heavily in the Parade's End snippets. <resists joke re "coming soon"> wink

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez Tue 24-Jul-12 21:36:47

Yes, but then then finished the montage with a screen saying "parades end, coming soon" sniggers

I ended up seeing both versions of Frankenstein - brilliant smile

Loving all the links, that last one prey was very, um, stimulating grin

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 21:47:36

Trailer here from The Majestic Llamacorn's Tumblr.

Coming soon indeed grin

CaveMum Tue 24-Jul-12 21:51:02

Honest to god that man could read the phone book and make it sound sexy grin

[goes for old shower]

CaveMum Tue 24-Jul-12 21:51:26

cold shower, not old shower blush

LetUsPrey Tue 24-Jul-12 22:08:11

Remember the Jaguar ads? I'm not interested in the technical side of cars, but I was completely fascinated by the Jaguar ad. Not just because of BC's voice but he actually made it sound interesting!

From the trailer: "Desire... must resist it..." No, you most certainly not. <Offers self on a plate>

See that The Hour is coming back too, with the lovely Ben Whishaw.

<Goes for a lie down>

LadyClariceCannockMonty Wed 25-Jul-12 09:35:31

YAAAAAAAAAAAY, Parade's End!!!!!

EVERYTHING in that trailer looks great although the first series of The Hour was underwhelming. I think the Beeb have really raised their game since Sky Atlantic started poaching all the top-quality American dramas.

LetUsPrey Wed 25-Jul-12 14:10:13

So Parade's End late August/September (I'm guessing) and also new Doctor Who at the end of August. It's like the BBC have thought "It's LetUsPrey's birthday in the middle of August. Let's do something really nice for her and put both Benedict Cumberbatch and Matt Smith on her television for her just after her birthday." Isn't that nice of them? grin

Also, I know his character in Atonement is seriously horrible but this picture does funny things to me and I'm so very tempted blush

CaveMum Wed 25-Jul-12 17:59:16

I know what you mean Prey. Horrible horrible character, but ver ver sexy man [consigns last shreds of feminist leanings to the bin]

CaveMum Wed 25-Jul-12 18:21:42

Prey, don't forget that the rowing drama Bert & Dickie starring Matt Smith is on BBC1 tonight at 8.30 grin

LetUsPrey Wed 25-Jul-12 18:44:43

Set to record already! grin

megcleary Wed 25-Jul-12 20:12:07

Nice interview

megcleary Wed 25-Jul-12 20:12:47
CaveMum Wed 25-Jul-12 20:47:55

"Hot, but amazing."

Sums up my thoughts exactly grin

LetUsPrey Wed 25-Jul-12 21:35:18

I love the way he "talks" with his hands. I've always done that. <sigh> so much in common grin

Has just successfully converted a college friend to Sherlock (and all its leading men, esp. BC). Mission accomplished. (She's visiting Yurp from the US this summer, and is spending a few days with us. DH kindly disappeared into the basement to do office stuff, so we could ogle in peace with our wine.)

Apparently Freeman came in a close second to BC with Rupert Graves trailing slightly.

To quote a different friend, "I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating cookies."

One ep. down, five to go. (She's staying until Sunday.) Also have her sold on Cabin Pressure. grin

LetUsPrey Thu 26-Jul-12 08:02:32

And so the plan for world domination continues....

LetUsPrey Thu 26-Jul-12 13:47:50

I know we've seen this before, but the shot in the bottom left corner makes me smile. A lot. And his thighs on the bottom right shot make me smile even more. grin

FrankelSaysRelax Thu 26-Jul-12 16:38:32

It's more the, er, pelvic action that gets me grin

(This is CaveMum btw. Fancied a name change!)

LetUsPrey Thu 26-Jul-12 16:41:35

Ooh ooh I know this one! Frankel is a horse isn't he?

FrankelSaysRelax Thu 26-Jul-12 16:48:11

He is! I saw him this morning grin

LetUsPrey Thu 26-Jul-12 16:55:22

So if BC was riding Frankel, I'm guessing you'd actually spontaneously combust grin.

And if I was riding B .......... - perhaps it's a bit early in the evening for that kind of talk though! wink

FrankelSaysRelax Thu 26-Jul-12 17:31:09

Definitely on the spontaneous combusting with delight grin

LetUsPrey Thu 26-Jul-12 19:31:28
FrankelSaysRelax Thu 26-Jul-12 19:34:58

[shallow and proud]

You ladies make me smile!!

LetUsPrey Fri 27-Jul-12 11:47:07

You know how I have it in my head that when if I meet BC, I'd be all together and calm and try not to be too gushing about how amazingly talented and absolutely fecking gorgeous he is, and we'll have an interesting, positive conversation, etc etc etc?

I think this is closer to the reality.

LetUsPrey Fri 27-Jul-12 13:54:57

I love Tumblr

yes, I love Tumbler so very very much I may have mis-counted as I was slightly distracted but the 58th and 59th (second set from The Other Boleyn Girl) shots made me feel very er .. er... yes, I'll be back later.

LetUsPrey Fri 27-Jul-12 15:56:58

That second link doesn't work. Crap.

me try again

LetUsPrey Fri 27-Jul-12 15:58:04

Hmm, that should have said let me try again.

But it still doesn't work. hmm

One last go

FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 18:30:38

[fans self]

FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 19:01:34

Benedict is doing the Olympic thing on BBC right now!!!!!!!!

FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 19:14:46
FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 19:37:04

Another still

And another

Hopefully a video will be available soon.

LetUsPrey Fri 27-Jul-12 20:08:58

I recorded it as soon as I saw your post about 7.10 so hopefully it'll record it all. Sure it'll be on YouTube or iPlayer soon though.

I'll be back later but as of tomorrow will have very limited internet access <sob> for A WEEK!

FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 20:17:58

There is a poor quality vid on YouTube already, but it will be on iplayer. He was only on for a few minutes right at the start,

May I also say torch

FrankelSaysRelax Fri 27-Jul-12 20:47:01

Better quality video - it's supposed to be quiet right at the start.

LetUsPrey Sat 28-Jul-12 00:03:20

Not had chance to watch it yet. Want to watch in peace but DH is here grin. Have seen lots of stills though. Phwoar!

Have a torch for now

LetUsPrey Sat 28-Jul-12 00:52:00

Goodness me, that video was rather good wasn't it?

Let the Games commence indeed Benedict grin

Am I the only one who thought he should do that in my bedroom as he spread his arms and said "Let the games begin"?

FrankelSaysRelax Sat 28-Jul-12 09:14:20

The only thing that would have made it better is if he had said "The Games are on!" instead of "Let the Games commence!"

Loved the whole opening ceremony, Danny Boyle is truly a genius and hurrah for her Maj for entering into the spirit of it all grin

Sorry about the vocab goof (begin vs. commence) -- I saw the clip last night at 1 am on YouTube and I was woken early this morning my kids running a Demolition Derby in my living room.

And I must say, the author of this article is a tool for not mentioning BC. Grrrrrr.

FrankelSaysRelax Sat 28-Jul-12 09:26:22

To be fair though, BC was not part of the Opening Ceremonu itself, he was part of the BBC coverage. The film wasn't shown anywhere else, it was just for us Brits. Hence why all the American fan girls are currently squealing on YouTube!

LetUsPrey Sat 28-Jul-12 13:09:40

<sneaks in while DH in the services at Hamilton>
<watches YouTube clip again

FrankelSaysRelax Sat 28-Jul-12 19:33:04
FrankelSaysRelax Sat 28-Jul-12 20:33:14
FrankelSaysRelax Sun 29-Jul-12 13:21:02

Seems its just me left!

I've just done something that makes me blush a little: I was wondering through a department store this morning searching for inspiration for a birthday present for DH (in 2 weeks time). I was in the fragrance section and thought I'd look at some new aftershave/fragrance for him. As I was looking through everything I spotted a tester bottle for Attimo Pour Homme and thought to myself "That's the scent BC allegedly wears. I wonder what it smells like."
Well, I tell you ladies it is farking gorgeous grin so I bought a bottle for DH blush Is that weird and stalkery?! I'm not trying to pull a "Rebecca" and turn DH into BC honest!

FrankelSaysRelax Sun 29-Jul-12 13:21:48

Arrgghh, wandering not "wondering"

Frankel, no, it's not just you. Last Friday I spent about two hours wandering from perfume shop to perfume shop downtown in search of that. Finally found it. I found the bergamot overtones too...much. I really like the sandalwood that remains, can totally imagine what that must smell like on skin...His skin...Oh god. But yes, I can understand your feeling of "I am way too grown-up to be behaving like this."

My friend just left with her family on their "If it's Tuesday, it must be Belgium" tour of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and France. (They are travelling until Aug. 20). Now I have converted her husband to being a Sherlock fan as well as his wife (although for totally different reasons -- we watched ASiB last night). World domination, indeed!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

FrankelSaysRelax Sun 29-Jul-12 13:34:33

Glad it's not just me! I agree it was a bit overpowering to start with, but after a minute or two it matures nicely. I can still smell it on the back of my hand now grin

Yes, I am 31 not 13!

What do I say? I'm turning 40 in December.... cringe

Damn wonky linkage. Meant to include this too.

HA! Just found this on Facebook:

Sapiosexual (n.): One who finds intelligence the most sexually attractive feature.

Love it!

FrankelSaysRelax Sun 29-Jul-12 22:38:36

Too true!

This is good

Oh my, those trousers are rather tight in the first shot...

And may I just say that I think it's so cool that one editor has a poster of "Xanadu" on his office wall. I loved that movie as a kid. And watched it again at the height of the Teletubby craze. One of the muses has a Teletubby hairdo...

FrankelSaysRelax Mon 30-Jul-12 15:36:33

I love the photo of BC with the Scarlett Johansen model, seeing as he's "shagged" her, on film anyway envy grin

FrankelSaysRelax Mon 30-Jul-12 19:26:33

Wow! Peter Jackson has announced that they are splitting the second Hobbit film in 2, there will be 3 Hobbit films grin

Statement here

FrankelSaysRelax Mon 30-Jul-12 19:51:33

Argghh! Horrid thought - could the extra filming impact on new Sherlock??!!

Maybe we can hope that either they'll finish before January (don't they film then??) or that they have already filmed boatloads and just couldn't bear to cut stuff out. Either way, more BC (and MF) is a good thing, no?
