Recipe of the week

smithy's roasted beetroot: low-fat, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free and generally nutritious and virtuous. This one-dish wonder is delicious and uses up some seasonal beets. What's not to like?

Ageing Slebs- who looks the best/worst?

After noticing Andrew Ridgeley from Wham, and barely recognising him, I still can't help but think his relative normality sits better on a man of 46 than having fought to stay looking like a refugee from the Village People, as George Michael has for the last twenty years.

So which is better in your opinion? Raging against the dying of the light with the help of a wind tunnel, or letting it all hang out?

wish i didn't live in the boonies. Good acts only come to Dublin which is other side of the country.
KerryMumbles Tue 29-Sep-09 00:12:04
ah yes. i am a long-term fan.

must dig up some of his stuff....

I tell you, Kerry - assuming that it's LC you're talking about - when we saw him in Dublin a few months ago he could have read out the bloody phone book and made it sound seductive. But he was singing those gorgeous, sexy, poetic words.

Am considering starting a petition to have him read the Shipping Forecast grin.

oh god it's that fucking VOICE....
trefusis Mon 28-Sep-09 23:56:58

trefusis Mon 28-Sep-09 23:52:33

Check out Gordon singing ' How wonderful you are'.

Yummy.
shineoncrazydiamond Mon 28-Sep-09 23:46:09
Oh. Him.

grin
trefusis Mon 28-Sep-09 23:39:40
Good Lord, I'm disappointed in you wink.

It's Leonard Cohen.
trefusis Mon 28-Sep-09 23:38:41
(You see? I can't even spell his name properly blush. You need my dh for that kind of music.)
hocuspontas Mon 28-Sep-09 23:38:27

Gorden Haskell - who I have just had to Google, while we're on the subject of ignorance - is also a mere child. grin
shineoncrazydiamond Mon 28-Sep-09 23:33:45
Is that Gordon Haskell?

[shows ignornace probably]
trefusis Mon 28-Sep-09 23:29:38
George Clooney is a mere child.

I have seen this man seduce every woman in a audience of 10,000 people. Myself included blush.
shineoncrazydiamond Mon 28-Sep-09 23:29:08
Weeping. Just weeping.
hocuspontas Mon 28-Sep-09 23:29:07

BitOfFun Mon 28-Sep-09 23:22:22
Quite legitimately, I might add blushgrin
BitOfFun Mon 28-Sep-09 23:20:29
Does this work? Dread to think, as I've just googled Cuntwhacker's username grin
bibbitybobbityhat Mon 28-Sep-09 23:17:14
Erm that's not Raqel on your link there bof.
BitOfFun Mon 28-Sep-09 23:13:58
Lauren Bacall has aged beautifully, as has Catherine Deneuve. Raquel Welch, on the other hand, only looks good to piss people off...
treacletart Mon 28-Sep-09 23:10:42
Orla Brady from Mistresses is nearly 50 too and very beautiful, I was very surprised at her age.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the web address (URL) surrounded by [[ and ]]. So type [[http://www.mumsnet.com]] to display a link like www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page."
