What a shock.

Crikey - how unpredictable.
I cannot bring myself to care. Who will he marry next then? La GeeGaw?
And there was me thinking it was True Love Forever.

That is a shame, As a Brand fan hoped he had found his match and stopped the serial shagging.
Gethin and Katherine too.
Well, me too, goingbacktowork. But he gave a wrong answer to a question that Piers Morgan asked him about when he got married - how did it feel knowing that he wasn't going to be with anyone else ever again or if he would he remain faithful or something like that. Instead of replying as most newly-married (ish) men would and saying "Well, I don't want any of the other women, I've got the best one!" he just muttered something along the lines of "Well, no-one knows what's going to happen in the future."
WRONG answer, Russell! I would have divorced him as soon as that came out his mouth!

I feel sorry for both of them. I know little of sleb stuff, but I honestly thought these two had a chance.
Latest is that she put her career first and he wanted a family.

I saw that story. To me it doesnt read true. It sounds like a bit of a plant from Russell Brand, and tbh makes me think less of him. Its sad that the marriage is over, but if she wanted to wait before having children then I see nothing wrong with that. If that is the reason.
DH is convinced she's been up to something.

Why is no-one suggesting that Brand should 'put his career on hold' to make his marriage work or have children? Grrrrr. Katy Perry would have been crazy to take time out now, just when she's achieved huge success.
I think it's a shame actually. I don't know much about them, but I like KP more after seeing the documentary about the making of the 'Fireworks' video, where she held a competition for fans from all over the world to come and be extras. And Brand did seem like he'd grown up since he gave up the drugs.
he could have stayed at home and looked after Baby Brand couldn't he? I am sad about it and still don't know why.
What Kreecher said. Has anyone said she should have just pkaced her career in? She might not even have wanted a pregnancy and him been willing to be a SAHP for all we know, no fault just long term incompatibility.

Oh the way it is being reported in the mail is grr- her fault for not giving up her career- another 'what century are we in' moment!

I doubt it has anything to do with what is being reported, i.e him wanting kids and she not or him feeling inadequacy due to her status.
I think when the dust settled they just realised they wern't compatible, I think he would benefit from someone more like a woman and less like a girl but I suppose the battle with his addictions will always be the main player in his life. I do wish them both well.
What a shame. There was quite an age gap.
Am I alone in not being too upset re Katherine and Gethin? I think he has had a lucky escape.

From reading Brand's two autobiographies, he comes across as extremely intelligent - even intellectual. She probably couldn't keep up with him.
Meow! Firework was written about him wasn't it? It is a shame it hasn't worked out...
