Where is anyone else going ? And if you are coming to Kitzbuel too, I'll give you a wave from the gondola

6th March Les Gets, just getting my head round the last bits to sort. DS1's 1st ski school . But we'll be school hols only next season. Half term or easter, what do you think?

We always go in Feb half term, but friends go over new year, Easter can be so late can't it, this year our primary school breaks up on April 1st, going back on 19th.

School hols are agony, but its what we know so that's ok!

We're off to Kitzbuhel too in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

esp Carrotfly. May yet go before Easter . Halfterm is very busy ime and weather can be awful. Last few Easters have been reliable snowwise well into April and often sunny.

Do you mean in Wengen Lizs ? or just Europe in particular ?

We had a lovely half term there last year, snowed heavily for a day, but then lovely blue sky and perfect conditions for the rest of the week.

Summer is glorious too

Aw go on ... you know you want too

Actually we are staying in a small self catering new chalet this year... cant remember its name ...dh booked it ... under the tunnel at the end of the high street (coop end) and right and down the hill a bit , am obviously relying on DH to get me there !

We seriously thought about buying a chalet in Lauterbrunnen last year, decided it was a bit ££

Anyway, to everybody else ...

its a horrible place, full of high rise flats and really long queues for all of the lifts.

saturday (or friday, can't decide)

and then for half term
probably sunshine. they have a brilliant instructor for dd2 and she has a major crush on him (she's only 6 lol).

lol tbh it is a resort you either love for its quaintness or hate for its lack of immediate access skiing. Apartments sound interesting.

WaCant wait to go back.s in St Foy two weeks ago and the skiing was amazing. We were in a catered challet and the staff were brilliant.

Austria has fab snow again this year.

We went four years ago and it was ridiculously mild, like 14 degrees during the day - everyone skied in fleeces. Fortunately it was always freezing overnight so the snow cannons could do their thing.

There's a whole lot of snow forecast for next week, then it can stop if it likes over Half Term!

Me too, am really looking forward to it!
I am a sedate skier with little ambition,
DD is a technically able skier and
DS has no fear whatsoever so rips down the piste!

They will be better than me ( although I suspect DS is already.)

Have 6 weeks to wait. Meribel.

Should have been off for a 4 dayer in Les Gets tomorrow had the in laws not let us down on looking after the DCs.

So having tartiflette at home tonight instead.

WasWondering - did you have a nice time on Cairngorm? Bit misty today I think!

Our half term skiing will be done mainly at the Lecht (more little kid friendly than Cairngorm. And cheaper)

I am very much a beginner and do the green runs at the Lecht (yes the wee nursery runs ). We went to Cairngorm last Wednesday and dh took me from Ptarmigan to Car Park. I was panicking and falling over loads especially the really steep bits. I just wasn't ready for that yet - evn though they are green runs

Apparently the blue runs at Lecht are easier than the green ones at Cairngorm (according to dh...) I might go to the Lecht tomorrow and get my confidence back on the nursery slops

Have fun next Saturday!
