Help: Anyone out there with first or second hand experience of skiing after rupture of achilles tendon?!

Have just taken up squash properly again and tore my achilles badly on Wedsnesday! Its been repaired, now in plaster and then special boot, I think, and all of this will take about 8 weeks and then rehab/physio.

The consultant thinks its doable provided we change the dates already booked for mid January to at least mid March. And provided I really work at the rehab, and a bit of luck thrown in! Its all individual after all.

Can anyone help - should we try to stick with Obergurgl, snowsure in late March, or opt for resort with more to do if the worst happened and I couldn't ski?
