When to go 2016

I'm sure this has been done to death but is it better to go Feb half term 14th Feb or March 20th over Easter? I am worried that March snow would be too unreliable but then nicer for warmth for kiddy lessons. Any thoughts? Keen not to take them out of school ideally but I know it makes a huge difference financially.

If you go to the J2Ski website you can look at the snow history by date for the places you are thinking of. I think it depends, we went to cervinia last week (so almost a month later than you are thinking of) and although the snow was not great (especially by late afternoon) it was perfectly skiable on

Hi we always ski in March, just done Les Arc at Easter and was fine, make sure you choose a high resort. On the case for next year already but going in term time (smack wrists) Happy searching :)

Thanks for that suggestion- Easter is way cheaper- can't quite bring myself to go in term time as I'm scared of the headmistress! How do you manage it?

Depends if tour operator or DIY and where you go. We own our own place in Saas Fee, and due to DPs work we have to go at feb half term (and Xmas and Easter) and don't find it horrendously busy there as long as you avoid Fasching. Been going for a few years now but we drive out overnight on the Friday having got the Chunnel free with tesco vouchers. It costs no different for us because we don't have accommodation costs but if you can avoid flying and drive the cost in February is not that far from Easter and probably better snow-wise.
