Swearing. Why?

I'n not averse to the odd 'FFS' or whatever, but it seems to me that the use of the C word is now commonplace on every thread nowadays. And i don't like it one bit.

It never used to be like this. Why the cultural shift? I never hear it spoken out loud so why is it suddenly ok to plaster it all over MN?

Is it suddenly 'en vogue' to sound like a drunken navvy? Words like cunt, snatch, twat etc are just vile. Can't we reign it in a bit?

No, cunt and twat are here to say I'm afraid.

Its moist I hate. Horrid word

YoniMatopoeia Tue 23-Apr-13 13:24:07

No we Fucking can't. It is a site for adults.

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 23-Apr-13 13:27:18

Hi dummad,

Thanks for your post.

This is what we say in our Talk guidelines on swearing :

It's not our policy to delete swearwords (we are all adults, after all) but we do draw the line at obscenity, racist and disablist language, and wording that is truly beyond the pale. So, if you're not sure which side of that line your swearword of choice may fall, it might be best not to use it.

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 13:27:55

Since when is using the word cunt and minge representative of being an adult?

Tortington Tue 23-Apr-13 13:28:29

oooh a dragon emoticon - how very cunting excellent

Adults are allowed to swear therefore mumsnet give us the right and don't censor us

MooncupGoddess Tue 23-Apr-13 13:29:12

We all have our private opinions on other people's language, OP... personally I find the increasingly common use of 'reign' for 'rein' rather teeth-gritting.

However, I am trying to be non-judgemental, and suggest you do the same.

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 13:29:52

Thanks for the message Rebecca at mumsnet. I'm trying to address the issue of swearing if you would like to read my post. You're speaking to the wrong person.

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 13:32:09

Sorry but i find it shows a lack of respect to be honest. I bet you don't speak like that face to face with your friends or family, so why doesn't it extend to the online community?

I do in fact call my neighbour bitch face and she has in return called me a cunt so yes its not just on here.

Tough shit tbh. No ones going to stop because one person thinks its disrespectful

AnyaKnowIt Tue 23-Apr-13 13:35:39

Wouldn't say cunt in front of my mum, but anyone else I do.

I'm forever calling dp a cunt

YoniMatopoeia Tue 23-Apr-13 13:37:04

Nobody has yet called me an atrocious cunt. That makes me sad

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 13:37:43

Oh and MN draws the line at all offensive language other than that which is gender specific. Nice to know that a black person is allowed to be offended by certain words but I'm not.

That's equal.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

That's totally different. You just dont like the word cunt. Its not offensive.

Its like me asking everyone not to use the word moist as its offensive confused No its just a word I dont like.

AnyaKnowIt Tue 23-Apr-13 13:39:40

I could call you a dickhead op?

I'm all for equal ops smile

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 13:40:40

In Zombie's experience, cunt is almost always used as a term of endearment on MN. (Not that she can recall anyone being fond enough of her to call her one. sad) When it isn't and if it is reported to HQ, it will be deleted.

Zombie - You are a cunt grin

YoniMatopoeia Tue 23-Apr-13 13:42:16

Zombie you are one of my fave atrocious cunts.

I'd say it out loud if it was appropriate.

But your post is not about whether something is appropriate, it is about your own tolerance for language. If the words that offend you are not used by you, or to you, then I'm not really sure what the problem is.

JaquelineHyde Tue 23-Apr-13 13:43:13

I would happily add a knobchops in here or there alongside the odd cunt that I throw around.

I find usernames with no capital letters utterly disrespectful and incorrect.

That is my view.

You dislike the word cunt

That is your view.

Netmums is a site which does not allow swearing unless you do it like this c u n t

May i suggest you try there/

I agree with you dummad.

I actually find it quite childish. Sometimes posts just have that 'oh look at me allowed to swear so I am going to'. Yes we are adults and yes we can swear if we want to but it just looks lame if it over used. Swearing always has much more impact if it is used selectively.

I do agree about the word 'cunt' though. I never hear it in real life. No idea why it has suddenly become so acceptable on here. I think it is made worst because it smack of misogyny - a bit sad when the worst insult somebody can hurl at you is to name you after a female body part.

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 13:47:24

I like drunken navvies.
I like MN.
I like swearing.

Who elected you the monitor?

Whoops. Xposted!

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 13:47:54

If you find it offensive then there are other sites that might be more suitable?

I like it because I can swear if I want too, and I don't take offense at swearing!

It's not breaking any rules so you can't stop people doing it.

PickledInAPearTree Tue 23-Apr-13 13:48:05

How on earth can you compare racism with you not liking swearing?

That's way more offensive than a few cunts littered around.

I have a mouth like a sailor in real life.

I actually rein in my swearing on here [oops]

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 13:48:47

Zombie you are an absolute cunt. thanks

Cunt isn't named after the vajayjay. Cunt happened first then became known as a name for it.

i think

I quite like saying dickhead when angry. Its enjoyable to say in a argument

FuckOffMrBloom Tue 23-Apr-13 13:49:28

Message deleted by Mumsnet for breaking our Talk Guidelines. Replies may also be deleted.

On the whole and ignoring the hairy handed we are adults, posting on a forum for grown ups and can use whatever words we deem fit, whether you like it or not.

Do you stop people in the street and tell them to stop using words you find 'offensive'?

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 13:49:59

Zombie is feeling the love. Thanks Freddie and YoniMatopoeia. wink

ItsYonliMe Tue 23-Apr-13 13:50:21

I completely agree with you too Dummad and sometimes think I've landed on a teenage website where the kids are getting a cheap thrill by using sweary words. It's all very juvenile.

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 13:50:43

And Bumping.

the why the actual fuck do you keep posting and reading here?

If it bothers you so much? why are you deliberately choosing to offend yourself/

I also have a mouth like a sailor in RL.

I do use the cunt word on a regular basis.

Is that ok OP?

MooncupGoddess Tue 23-Apr-13 13:55:48

SP - cunt as an insult does derive from the female genitalia. It has the Anglo-Saxon same root as queen, I believe (can't google as at work).

Thanks Freddie for modelling correct 'rein' usage. I feel better now.

There are quite a few people on here who have met me in RL and they will tell you, yes I do actually swear a-fucking-lot.

I'm not going to change either.

Sorry lark.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 14:12:46

I absolutely fucking swear in real life. All the fucking time. Even say cunt and dick and shit and twat.

They are words. Get over it. Get a grip. Or get gone.

cluelesschloe Tue 23-Apr-13 14:15:08

OP - don't disrespect MNHQ.
Their site, their rules innit.
You don't like it? >>>>>>>>>>>
(no swear words were hurt in this post)

chocoluvva Tue 23-Apr-13 14:15:19

Another who agrees with BigBoobiedBertha here.

AmberLeaf Tue 23-Apr-13 14:17:17

It doesn't bother me.

I think you have to take it in context too.

Depending on the situation, yes I do swear in RL, I wouldn't swear while speaking to my childs teacher for example as it would be inappropriate to be so informal. But in relaxed company and in the right context, yes I would and I do...often.

dyslexicdespot Tue 23-Apr-13 14:17:56

You are of course allowed to be offended by the same words a black person is offended by. What a ridiculous comment OP!

AmberLeaf Tue 23-Apr-13 14:18:54

My favourite swear word is Cunt actually.

It means so many different things and is so wonderfully expressive.

I don't sound like a navvy though.

FoundAChopinLizt Tue 23-Apr-13 14:19:14

I find the generalisation that navvies swear quite offensive. They were the heroes of many transformative civil engineering projects still in existence today. They died in their hundreds, poorly paid in terrible working conditions.

Now troopers and fish wives on the other hand...

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 14:20:49

I don't like violent films so I don't watch them.

If you don't like swearing, don't come on Mumsnet.

Just out if interest, what does one have to do to be called an atrocious cunt? grin

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 14:22:44

yay a sniffy sweary thread and a dragon fab. I obv only commented so I could use the dragon though. You never know when a dragon will come along again.

fwiw I think there is less swearing now than there used to be and I rarely see gratuitous swearing dragon

WTFisABooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 14:23:02

are drunken naccys not allowed on MN? sad

MakingAnotherList Tue 23-Apr-13 14:23:39

I rarely swear in real life and never have online. I don't think that makes me better than anybody else. I certainly don't look down on those that do swear. I do wish, however, that there wasn't as much of it on mumsnet. I have had to quickly close the app/window many times when my daughters come and sit next to me and I'm reading something on here.
I know that the solution is to only use mumsnet when they are in bed or at school, but sometimes I like to sit and read for 5 minutes.

WTFisABooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 14:24:03

ohh ffffffiddlesticks! wink look what i've done.

i do of course mean drunken navvys

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 14:25:57

Just for curiosity sake, MakingAnotherList, how old are your children and do you think they don't swear when you're not around?

FoundAChopinLizt Tue 23-Apr-13 14:26:45

Oh yes, also stereotyping navvies as drunken, very offensive indeed.

Really fucking offensive in fact.

dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon dragon

Nope....still doesn't feel as good as swearing. Sorry OP grin

ouryve Tue 23-Apr-13 14:29:52

Oooh, we've got a fucking dragon! dragon

Though if dragons did fuck, maybe we'd see more of them. Not so sure that would be a good thing. Good job they appear to be even worse at it than giant pandas.

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 14:31:04

If your DC are old enough to read chances are they will have come across swearing before. DS1 has just learned the f word as we refer to it and the other week DH said something was fucking ridiculous and DS1 was all shock daddy said the F word. Then his nanna taught him how to spell it as 'if he can say it he should be able to spell it' grin

he is 7 and knows you can't go about saying fuck all over the place, but he knows it exists and that his father occasionally uses it!

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 14:31:42

Orchard is that a herd of dragon's you have there?

ouryve Tue 23-Apr-13 14:33:10

And I can't believe we got so far in this thread without an ODFOD.

I think it's a flock? They have wings and shit don't they? smile

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 14:35:52

Zombie believes that dragon shit is highly prized by some folk. It reputedly has magical properties, doesn't it?

Isn't it a step up from rare bat guano in terms of valuble-shit? I believe it is you know wink

Tee2072 They are 6 and 8. I am positive that they don't swear when I'm not around.

BitBewildered Tue 23-Apr-13 14:39:38

I like swearing. It's one of my favourite things about MN.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 14:39:54

You'd probably be surprised, MakingAnotherList.

I actually swear less on here than in rl...as I know it can come across the wrong way when you can't tell if someone's joking etc.

Would much rather be called a cunt than a yoni though tbh... <CRINGE> hmm

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 14:43:34

I suspect my 7yo practices saying fuck when I'm not about what with him now being obsessed with it.

Orchard I don't think dragons can actually fly. Their wings look ornamental to me. I imagine they stomp about the land eating grass like cows

I have heard plenty of "naice" 8 year olds using adult language tbh

and Mumsnet is an adult site, so you cant really complain it isnt appropriate for your children to read.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 14:44:44

Calling someone a Yoni gringringrin

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 14:47:59

Of course dragons can fly! Have you never read the Hobbit?!?!

Dragons can't fly. I mean honestly!

MakingAnotherList Tue 23-Apr-13 14:49:42

I know my children.
My teenager does swear when not at home. I've seen her texts and met her friends. My younger girls don't.
I accept that people here swear but I don't let my children see it.

Wallison Tue 23-Apr-13 14:51:57

I am grin grin at teaching a child how to spell 'fucking'. Love it! If you're going to swear, do it properly; that's the ticket.

My 6 year old said fucking heck the other day.

It can't be from me, I don't say heck...

MakingAnotherList Tue 23-Apr-13 14:55:03

I'm not suggesting that it should be family friendly. I realise it's a site for adults. I don't let my children read it. Sometimes the subject is much more inappropriate than the words used, so I am careful about which threads I open when they are at home.

ItsYoniYappy Tue 23-Apr-13 14:56:30

Everyone is either a good cunt or a cunt where I live. So... there you have it!

I don't like minge or moist or people asking for advise when they would like advice or the trolls, or the ex banned posters but please just leave the fucking cunts alone.

LtEveDallas Tue 23-Apr-13 15:01:15

Where the hell did that dragon come from?

Oh yes, St George. Bugger, forgot.

I swear IRL far more than I do on MN. IRL it just falls out my mouth, on MN I have to think about it.

But then I am surrrounded by foul mouthed Squaddies and Civil Servants, so I'm in good company smile

I really don't understand someone that joins a community, of their own free will, and then complains about that community. Especially when that community has been running sucessfully for over 10 years. Surely when you join a sucessful community you try to fit in or you leave, you don't try to make it conform to your own ideals...

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 15:05:52

well I've seen The Hobbit Tee and yes you do have a point. I think it's the British dragons that can't actually fly

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 15:07:21

That could be Jardin.

Sheshelob Tue 23-Apr-13 15:08:57

I'd much rather say cunt than "en vogue".

Sunnywithshowers Tue 23-Apr-13 15:18:26

I don't think there's anything wrong with swearing on here. And I can't see why 'what black people are offended by' is relevant to the discussion.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 15:27:34

Swearing. Why not?

To answer the actual question in the OP's title.

Eskino Tue 23-Apr-13 15:41:23

Before I was a SAHM I worked with people with mental illnesses and also people with addictions.

I heard and was called regularly Cunt, Snatchbitch, HairyFishFanny, Bastard, FatTits (34A) and one particularly memorable Christmas when my rota fell to me working a double shift on Christmas Day, You Fucking Cunty Christmas Cunthole.

MN by comparison is a walk in the park. I don't even blink.

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 15:51:54

If you don't like swearing fair enough, but what on earth makes someone place so much value on their own opinion that they think an entire site should change to accommodate them?

More importantly who would have the arrogance to ask such a pompous question, and then get the arse with HQ when they very politely answer?

I mean honestly, words fail me!

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 15:53:08

Oh Eskimo it's really not funny but You Fucking Cunty Christmas Cunthole. just made me snort grin

You Fucking Cunty Christmas Cunthole

That is the best festive insult I've ever heard grin thank you for that nugget

PickledInAPearTree Tue 23-Apr-13 15:53:36

You fucking cunty Christmas cake hole!

PickledInAPearTree Tue 23-Apr-13 15:54:13

Cunt hole even. Bloody hell, that's quite something!

Eskino - that is some creative use of 'cunt' that you were exposed to. I may have to save it up for the festive season.

Incidentally, the kids around my way use this sort of language all the time. I'm not saying it's right, but I have heard a string of expletives from the under 10's in the local playground.

I try not to swear in front of DD who is only a toddler, but when she's out there in the real world, she's going to be exposed to it. Doesn't offend me, but as I said upthread, the usage has to be appropriate.

(Sorry btw, i'm sure it was less funny at the time. My mum used to work with old people and was called all sorts of people. Apparantly when you reach a certain age you just swear a lot confused there was one woman who could only say a few words which consisted mainly of variations of the words cunt, wanker & bastard and you knew she was warming to you if she called you a nice cunt. No joke. I bet OP is wishing she hadn't started this thread if she's not a fan of swearing as it's full of filth already).

FloralFuckOff Tue 23-Apr-13 16:00:56

<files FuckingCuntyChristmasCunthole for future festive namechange>

magimedi Tue 23-Apr-13 16:01:12

I just knew there's end up being a lot of swearing on this thread!

Irresistible & (with apologies to Eskino) I must admit I too loved the festive cunt epithet.

elQuintoConyo Tue 23-Apr-13 16:08:29

OP, you're reigning on my cuntymingefelch parade.

If all we used was regular vocabulary, the world'd be a boring place. But a place where surely words such as 'moist' and ''catflap' and 'shunting the fulcrum' could be the naughty words?

Vagina means 'sword sheath'. I find that rather distasteful, I'd rather use cunt.

Fetid Fucktruck is my swear phrase of choice at the moment.

Some dragons can't fly Tee. Chinese dragons only have ornamental wings apparently. I know thats true as my 9 yr old say so. It is part of the National Curriculum apparently.

infamouspoo Tue 23-Apr-13 16:27:24

I swear in real life and I like MN cos swearing is allowed. If that makes me immature that so fucking what.
And race ya to the festive cunty name.

I read an excellent book by a very admired american midwife the preface to the book is about the english language and how we choose to be offended by certain words most of which are for the female genitalia, to put this right she uses a different wor deverytime she mentions a vagina throughooout the book, now did I state this is a midwifery book so the word vagina is used a lot, it is called a cunt, a yoni and many many other things. It is quite unusual reading the word cunt in a medical context, but you know what I agree with her wholeheartedly, reclaim words and people cant use them against you.

Cunt doesn't fuss me. Even if it is a word for a vagina I used words that are connected to the male genitalia.

Such as:

Cheesy bell
Jizz stain
Silly bollocks
nob jockey

There is possibly more but cant think of them.

I heard a kid in the back street call another kid a 'fanny flap' though.

fanny flap is an excellent phrase.

MooMooSkit Tue 23-Apr-13 16:32:54

I love fuckoffmrblooms username. Brilliant. And the christmas cunt insult.

Ooh I haven't heard nobjockey for a while.

When I was a virgin media customer I used that as my password. It totally backfired on me when I phoned them up to complain trying to be all angry and serious and the woman burst out laughing when she asked for my password.

Is the term 'fannying around' linked to the fanjo?

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 16:35:35

see I knew some dragons had ornamental wings. Like chickens. Pointless teeny tiny wings when compared to body mass

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 16:37:25

SP, Zombie would think it's more like arseing around as in American English your fanny is your arse, not your fanjo.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 16:37:44

So, the OP posted, got almost an instant response from HQ, mouthed off to HQ and then left?

Good. DFOD

RubyGates Tue 23-Apr-13 16:38:12

I work with small children. At work my language borders on the twee.
At home I have to mind my Ps &Qs because of the 4YO.
I don't get out much.

If I want to fucking swear on-line amongst adults I bloody well will.

VerySmallSqueak Tue 23-Apr-13 16:38:18

Can cope with any word except soiled.

Now that is fucking horrible.
Please don't anyone use it.

Zombie thanks for clearing that up. I never understood how someone could be vagina-ing about

Soiled goes nicely with my least favourite word, gusset.

I'm not keen on the word 'clunge' its a bit icky

I have bingo wings? Am I a dragon!? shock grin

I'm actually 22 and do not...but will I be one eventually? M inner child is very excited by this thought! Maybe that's why they sometimes refer to old woman as dragons...it all makes sense <goes off on another tangent under her breath>

I fucking can't stand it when ignorant cunts fail to spell their dictatorial OPs. But I try to rein in my indignation, OP. You should try that, it'll save you wrinkles.

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 17:59:20

Ok so the general consensus is that, because i raise a viewpoint point you don't agree with, i have to leave MN. You only want to mix with like minded people. All others can fuck off.

Not really in the spirit of MN is it? A forum that welcomes diversity and debate.

For the record i never contested anyones right to use the word cunt, i just wanted to know why; and if it now considered the norm. And if it is, when that happened.

I have been on MN for years; this thread to me proves what a downturn things are taking.

Many of you are acting like a load of aggressive teenage bullies who won't tolerate anyone thinking or feeling differently to youselves.

And you are the mothers of the future generation.

Lord help that generation.

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 18:18:25

You've been on MN for years yet you've only just noticed the swearing? Really? I find that very hard to believe.

And for the record you didn't just ask if it was the norm, you asked if we could "reign(sic) it in a bit".

That's not "expressing a viewpoint" that's asking a humongous forum to do what you want them to do.

Then when HQ responded you were rude to them. That's a big bag of not on right there.

Anyway, the Christmassy cunt thing is still entertaining me, so I'm very glad I clicked on the thread!

Dum grin Well done! That's how you fucking do it! Its a great word isn't it?

And state of me because I told you to fuck off with that shit? grin I didn't just pitch in either. I have been here since the start.

BIWI Tue 23-Apr-13 18:19:00

Oh dear, dummad! How virtuous of you.

This is an adult site, and sometimes people swear. Sometimes they swear a lot. Sometimes they use the baddest swear words there are. Like cunt.

But most times, actually, they don't.

They're all coming out in force on this thread because this is a very old chestnut on MN and it's really irritating to have to keep making the same argument about why swearing is acceptable here - as long as it's not in the context of a personal attack.

Go and have a read of some of the more serious threads - in relationships, for example, and actually - baring 'leave the bastard' and 'he's being a twat/cunt' - there's very little swearing, and certainly not swearing for comic effect, which is what most of it is.

The more people say they hate swearing, the more swearing is going to happen.

Oh, and if somebody called you a cunt, then you would be absolutely right to be offended by that, and it would be construed by MNHQ as a personal attack and deleted. But choosing to be offended by other people's use of a word is daft. Because, as others have already said, everyone has words that they don't like, and therefore it's entirely subjective.

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 18:20:00

I wouldn't say it out loud, but then again I don't shout leave the bastard or talk about yoni massage out loud either.

In fact, when posting about my arsehole ex, another poster christened him cuntychops. That is now his name in my phone. Everytime he rings or texts a very unflattering pic flashes up and CUNTYCHOPS flashes in capitals letters.

It's fabulous, and has made me smile if nothing else. So I'd quite like to use the word cunt, each to their own I suppose

She just needed someone to pull the cunt out of her it seems. It was always there just needed a push grin

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 18:22:04

May I suggest a cup of chamomile tea OP?

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 18:23:14

Mumsnet Addendum to Godwin's Law:

As soon as you comment on the 'state' of the children posters are raising, you've lost the argument.

HQ, can we have that added to TGs?

"pull the cunt out of her" <shudders> that's a horror film waiting to be made that is...

Oh Jesus! That's sounds wrong!

I knew what I meant

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 18:24:58

Yeah, SP...rephrasing may be in order there...

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 18:25:44

Yep,the I feel sorry for your children is a low blow on MN.I'm surprised the op didn't know that what with being here years and shit.

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 18:26:34

grin @ SP! it took me a few reads to get what you meant!

I think she has exploded tbh.

I meant the word cunt was there. Wording is everything it seems grin

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 18:27:49

Message deleted by Mumsnet for breaking our Talk Guidelines. Replies may also be deleted.

GettingObsessive Tue 23-Apr-13 18:28:07

OP I have reported your outrageous, expletive-filled --not
to mention hypocritical-- PA on SP.

So there.

Then tell them SP told me to do it in the spirit of MN

I feel honoured. If you want you can name it 'doing a SP' grin

Liberate yourself Dum

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 18:30:27

Op has malfunctioned,it's all your fault SP,you cunt.

I just taught my kindle the word cunt.

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 18:31:24

we have a saying where i'm from. it seems apt.

"get it outta ya big girl"
(or lad if it's a male and the 'big' part is used to imply you're trying to be big by having a wee ranty explosion and has no relevance to your physical size)

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 18:31:46

My autocorrect doesn't try to correct cunt to something else anymore, I must have been on mumsnet a lot recently grin

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 18:32:07

What??? Why have I been reported? Why me??

My phone recognises munting, cunt, twat etc thanks to MN

Usual I broke the OP? shock Little old me?

OP, fess up

You must've known this was swear-baiting. I hope you did anyway biscuit hmm

And you were probably reported for goading or making it about our children low blow btw, considering you're so righteous about this all

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 18:33:58

we also say it when someone has a big burp grin

Sunnywithshowers Tue 23-Apr-13 18:37:46

I've reported you for your personal attack on SP. You called her a cunt, which is not in the spirit of the site as I understand it.

reelingintheyears Tue 23-Apr-13 18:39:42

JassyRadlett Tue 23-Apr-13 18:46:37

You kind of have to love a thread where a number of people discussed the origin of 'cunt' as an insult and whether it was therefore inherently sexist, but no one called out the use of 'lame' to mean pathetic.

Or maybe they did, and I missed it cos I'm on my way home from a job where the language makes Mumsnet look like Sunday school.

JulieMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 23-Apr-13 18:47:56

Just in case you missed the post from RebeccaMumsnet, here are our talk guidelines wink

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 18:50:02

I agree Sunny. Although I'm starting to think this thread is a big cunty wind up...

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 18:52:40

i was thinking that kneedeep. OP seems a bit too unclear on the ways of MN for one who has been around so long.

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 18:52:58

Would now be the right time to bring out the cunt bunting? Or is it too soon grin

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 18:54:23

Oh I see, it was a wind up all along. Balls. Sucked in.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 18:54:41

It's never too soon for cunt bunting!

GettingObsessive Tue 23-Apr-13 18:57:47

<whines and stamps foot>

But I reported the OP first!

<hands getting a recognition medal>

I know you did grin

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 18:59:37

To go from "I don't like the c word"to calling someone a cunt in 160 posts suggests to me that we've been had.

Love that MN comes up on the first page if you google cunt bunting grin

infamouspoo Tue 23-Apr-13 19:02:10

lol at *wereontheway' and 'cuntychops' on the phone. That has made my night that has grin

RandallPinkFloyd Tue 23-Apr-13 19:02:15

Can I keep "fuck of you ugly cunt" though. It's very perceptive, I really am quite ugly grin

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:04:07

Sorry Getting. You were way ahead of all of us smile

WTFisABooyhooISBooyhoo Tue 23-Apr-13 19:06:51

we have cunt bunting? shock

what does that look like?

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 19:08:31

Totally had.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:10:14
LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 19:10:38

cunt cunt

Ta-dah cunt bunting grin

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:11:24
GettingObsessive Tue 23-Apr-13 19:12:26

I am going to polish my medal everyday, faithfully grin

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 19:12:39

How much swearing in one thread must one have to achieve to be accepted on MN? Are there extra points for certain words? Is there a quota that I need to fulfill?
If I don't get there, how long do I have to fuck off over to those Netmums cunts before I can come back again?

How did I miss the whole bleedin point of MN for all these years?

When will they rename it: 'by cunts, for cunts'?

When da fuck do I use that flanjo faced bear icon; and the biscuit?

So many buggering questions. I feel like a fraud.

infamouspoo Tue 23-Apr-13 19:13:55

could put cunt bunting round my tent <thoughtful>

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 19:13:58

Try again!

C u n t C u n t

Only extra points if you make up a sweary phrase

BitBewildered Tue 23-Apr-13 19:17:25

dummad stop fretting. No one wants to make you swear, you're the one who wants others to change to accomodate your preferences. And just for the record, cunty wankstains is my current exclaimation of choice wink

Bit Too late she swore sad

MooncupGoddess Tue 23-Apr-13 19:20:09

Hmm, that looks more like a vagina dentata to me!

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:20:50

I might buy a tent just so I can put cunt bunting around it.

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 19:21:41

Art was never my strong point grin

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 19:22:57

Actually, that is incirrect I was told to fuck off MN. That is gang n

BitBewildered Tue 23-Apr-13 19:27:31

AmberLeaf Tue 23-Apr-13 19:30:23

Thank fuck, well done OP for coming out of the cunting swearing closet.

You feel better now and liberated, you have answered your own question.

That is Why?

TheRealFellatio Tue 23-Apr-13 19:32:39

I don't like the over-liberal and casual use of the C word on here at all, but I am opposed to censorship more.

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 19:34:28

I rarely use the word cunt on here or in real life.I prefer twat tbh.

dummad Tue 23-Apr-13 19:40:03

I would say I prefer twat. But it sounds lesbian so i must rephrase. I don't have a problem with twat. Are there actually people out there who would take cunt over twat? Surely cunt is stronger and the more awful.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 19:45:12

It sounds lesbian? hmm

Twat sounds lesbian? confused

Are you high OP?

elQuintoConyo Tue 23-Apr-13 19:46:47

I'd take cunt over twat, but leave the minge for someone else.

Granny Fanny on the other hand...

BitBewildered Tue 23-Apr-13 19:48:22

Surely cunt is stronger and the more awful. that's the point. Sometimes a strong swear word is what's wanted. In some parts twat is as offensive as cunt. I learnt that on here and was very surprised. Where I'm from twat is the same strength as fool or idiot, and is used in the same contexts.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:48:32

I always think of twats as being male rather than lesbian.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 19:49:31

Granny fanny

TheRealFellatio Tue 23-Apr-13 19:49:46

I say twat all the time. It seems so much less offensive than cunt but still expresses how I feel, perfectly adequately. But I am only ever irritated or hacked off by twats. For someone to be a cunt in my book I would need to be positively seething with hatred and bitterness and rage. And I rarely am.

hedgefund Tue 23-Apr-13 19:49:47

i see it didn't take many posts until someone suggested the op tried netmums hmm

mn was never really that sweary in the day, so suggesting the op goes to another site it a bit stupid.

anway agree with op - makes posters sound fick innit

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 19:50:15

I call anyone a twat if the need arises.male or female.

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 19:53:51

Yes and saying 'fick innit' makes you sound like the bastion of genius. hmm

hedgefund Tue 23-Apr-13 19:57:52

lol at bastion of genius!

Fick innit? Pardon? I don't speak twat, could you repeat that in English for me?

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 19:58:12

MN has always been sweary, cunting Sainsburys anyone?

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 19:59:33

Sorry, should I have used smaller words?

AmberLeaf Tue 23-Apr-13 20:00:29

I think by 'sounds lesbian' the OP meant saying 'I prefer twat' sounds like she is a lesbian.

Sunnywithshowers Tue 23-Apr-13 20:01:18

I love 'flanjo faced bear icon'. Fantastic grinbear

hedgefund Tue 23-Apr-13 20:01:30

jeez i don't know what you're all getting at me! i was replying to the op only!

Words of one syllable only please tee

For the "fick cunts"

StickEmUpPunk Tue 23-Apr-13 20:07:44

Omg this thread is nuts! Haha! Love it dragon

U iz all fick

That's better sp

Cos we ain't all clever enuff to understand big words innit?

Even though I have a first class degree and manage to do a professional job. Whilst still managing to use the words fuck and cunt.

I ment u iz all bare fick grin

Only da Fick tlk lyk dat init. Fuck da haterz lol

My phone wants to auto correct the shit out of that! All red underling and shizzle

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 20:16:49

I find innit more offensive then cunt smile

I find fick very offensive.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 20:17:57

Never do that again SP.

My poor eyes shock

Tee2072 Tue 23-Apr-13 20:18:29

Now you've said "shizzel" you've lost all credibility. grin

I apologise for going to far and using 'shizzel' my bad grin

All the swearing is making me Fick you see.

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 20:19:49

I was constructive ^^ up there. And I didn't know twat was more lesbian than cunt confused

All I can say is dragon dragon and dragon

nenevomito Tue 23-Apr-13 20:20:01

Twat sounds Lesbian confused

I have only just noticed the fucking dragon!!

Why didn't anyone tell me

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 20:20:34

SP 'my bad' is BAD. Please say sorry

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 20:20:43

I'm not keen on swearing for the sake of it. I only have a good swear on here when someone winds me up.

nenevomito Tue 23-Apr-13 20:20:51

I love the dragon. Even on one of the so oft, oft repeated 'wah people swear' threads.

usualsuspect Tue 23-Apr-13 20:22:17

I prefer twat makes me sound lesbian apparently. I prefer cock though tbh.

Funny Soz grin

Ill stop now.

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 20:24:40

You are all a bunch of Dragonist titcocks.

How would you all like it if I mocked your wings?

Well I'll have you know that Ferrets bounce ain't that amazing, SPs fanjos held more Mnetters than a gin factory offering free gin and the RealFellatios actually FakeFellatio.

<<slams door>>

<<opens door>>

Psssst Zombie darling you're still lovely

<<slams door louder>>

<<flounces in a tail swishing wing flapping fashion>>

Ariel21 Tue 23-Apr-13 20:25:03

Moist is by far the worst word on earth. I like to use it emphatically just to see people cringe.

Honey That was a bit personal! I never said a word about dragons! sad Fanjo related attacks aren't acceptable.

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 20:35:04

Sp ok sorry. But it's still true. You have harboured half of Mnet in your fanjo.

<<sulks further>>

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 20:37:18

Are there actually people out there who would take cunt over twat? Surely cunt is stronger and the more awful

Op. Are you getting minge confused with whiskey?

IamtheZombie Tue 23-Apr-13 20:47:16

HoneyDragon, has Zombie told you that she luffs you lately?

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 20:50:59

Honey can your wings fly? hmm? hmm? I didn't think so

And SP tis fine, you are young and the youngsters spaketh such speak. I am old and prefer a twat to a cunt and overall prefer a good arse or arses. Or even arse biscuits

NicholasTeakozy Tue 23-Apr-13 20:53:34

What an utterly brilliant thread. grin

timidviper Tue 23-Apr-13 20:56:12

I'm waiting for SP's red underling to post something. I want an underling now! Can we all have one and do they all come with schizzel?

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 20:57:59

<<does a brief fly by>>

<<defecates on Funnys>>

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 20:58:36

The Puddle used to be in SP's fanjo & it was very comfy.

YoniMatopoeia, if you're still reading - you atrocious cunt, you grin

You can now say "square bracket flowers close bracket" for flowers

garlicyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 21:09:08

Funnys, I do hope Mr Funnys's tent is amply draped with colourful cunting.

garlicyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 21:09:29

bolourful, that should have been. Fail.

FarelyKnuts Tue 23-Apr-13 21:10:40

I take cunt or twat, not fussy me grin

Cunt is a term of endearment for a man here " you're some cunt" means you are quite the lad.

If you are atrocious, you are a knob or a dick or the always fashionable, twat smile

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:12:06

Twunt is good.

HoneyDragon Tue 23-Apr-13 21:14:42

<<brushes poop off Funnys head>>

<<pulls her into thread love in>>

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 21:14:59

I don't think I've ever been called an atrocious cunt on here <hopeful>

Or a twat

is it wrong that I want to be

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:16:33

LittleMissBunyoni, you're an atrocious cunt too.

<feels the love>

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 21:20:27

Why thank you grin

Can't believe I'm actually thrilled to be called that blush grin

I feel like a true member now grin

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:21:52

<pulls MissBunyoni into the love-in>
<tickles Honey under her wing>

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:24:04

Whaaaaaat ? This was all a wind up? Please summarise someone! Am in the wankbollockingcuntychoppingtwatskyfelching bath. On the difficult app

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:25:58

The OP has come over to the dark side and there's a kind of sweary snuggly love-in going on.

I think that's about it really.

Except that you have one very unusual bath, Bumping.

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:27:15

I asked ages ago how to get called an atrocious cunt hmm

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:28:46

Bumping: OP doesn't like using "the c word" but manages to call someone a cunt later on.

Also the whole "I've been on MN for ages" stuff.

ClaraOswald Tue 23-Apr-13 21:29:29

This many posts in eight hours?

I really shouldn't take days off MN.

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:29:53

kneedeepindaisies, you atrocious cunt, come and snuggle with us.

BitBewildered Tue 23-Apr-13 21:32:00

FunnysInLaJardin I've been using 'arse biscuits' for a few weeks. Did I get it from here? grin

kneedeepindaisies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:32:35

Thank you Empress. You are too kind smile

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 21:35:01

You're welcome grin

I like wankbadger. Who was it who was giving out laminated wankbadgers a while ago?

VenusRising Tue 23-Apr-13 21:37:12

I find the word cunt very misogynistic tbh. It's a word that is disconnected from the body: I wonder why we are so rough when talking about our bodies, especially the private parts? It seems so harsh and unnecessarily feeling less.

I do wonder why we use it? Not suggesting we all plump for beef curtains instead, smile but why do we have this harsh body part names (ab)use.

And why is a hug is a bit no no.

Peace and love Sisters, and the same to your bits! Let's be gentle with each other, eh?

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:37:33

My bath is very fucking odd. The bathroom is green. Very green.

I've been called cunt for the first time tonight. Think its the first time anyway

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 21:45:46

Cunty hugs all round smile

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 22:08:46

The thing is, Venus, cunt is just as much a term of affection here. Atrocious cunt even more so.

Atrocious beef curtain just doesn't have the same ring to it.

No-one's called me an atrocious cunt yet though sad

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 22:09:35

<boggles at the cunty hugs in Bumping's odd bath> grin

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 22:15:47

Atrocious beef curtains, the lot of ya!
<from the hideous green bathroom>

LittleMissBunnyoni Tue 23-Apr-13 22:15:57

You've got to watch that Empress the most atrocious cunt there is grin

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 22:19:20

grin grin grin

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 22:22:16

Cunty curtains? Mebbe? Anyway, despite the weird green bathroom, I have 10 litres of trade white silk. Fucking bastard perfect. smile

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 23-Apr-13 22:22:45

Thanks Honey and I think Mr F's tent is festooned with hyper 11 yo's who are no doubt cunty at this time of night.

Arse biscuits is mine all mine

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 22:24:36

Oh yes. Peace and love to Venus and her bits.

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 22:26:33

Arse biscuits I luuurve. Marvlyous!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Tue 23-Apr-13 22:37:44

Empress, you are an atrocious cunt.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Tue 23-Apr-13 22:39:08

Bumping, my eyes decided to mishmash two posts and I thought you were telling us your cunt was green.

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 22:52:46

Thank you, Snatch. You're an atrocious cunt too xxx

I'd like to propose a vote of thanks to Dummad for starting this luffly thread.

magimedi Tue 23-Apr-13 23:07:32

Actually, you are all a load of.............. ankles.

I was told last year that someone's boss was referred to as 'an ankle' as he was lower than a cunt.

I do like to use the word 'ankle' from time to time.

magimedi Tue 23-Apr-13 23:08:06

PS - You are all vile cunts as well.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Tue 23-Apr-13 23:09:49

Ooh, I like "ankle".

"Begone, vile ankle!" has a ring to it.

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 23:11:11

The doctrine it IS green. Following my foray into the Cunting Green Bathroom. I may need to post in Good Housekeeping for removal ideas. Oh cock.

BumpingFuglies Tue 23-Apr-13 23:15:23

Oh and you are moist. Sorry poster who said that is their "rood" word, but anyway. Not just cunts, but MOIST cunts. Trufax. I bid you good evening, fellow lady gardens.

magimedi Tue 23-Apr-13 23:16:10

Oh & dragon while I can

Dragons' ankles - the whole lot of you.

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Tue 23-Apr-13 23:17:51

Has anyone else noticed that there's been a major fanjo theme on MN lately?

First Brian, then Honey's field fresh thread, now this...

I was singing Keema's Fairytale of Mumsnet in the kitchen the other night grin

Tee2072 Wed 24-Apr-13 08:10:19

I cannot believe I missed the love in part of the thread!

Someone hug me!

kneedeepindaisies Wed 24-Apr-13 08:35:57

<gives Tee a cunty hug>

<wonders what happened to the OP>

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Wed 24-Apr-13 09:14:29

<joins the hug>

You're an atrocious CunTee, that's what you are.

I think we managed to turn the OP. At last sight she was swearing away with the best of them grin

Tee2072 Wed 24-Apr-13 09:37:11

OMG I made need to name change, Empress!!!

YoniMatopoeia Wed 24-Apr-13 09:51:27

Oh empress, thank you. I have been called an atrocious cunt; my life is now fulfilled ;)

dummad Wed 24-Apr-13 17:41:17

Did you miss me? Probably not. Along with all of the abuse i will also gladfully take any praise offered for starting this raucous thread of almost 300 posts.

Thank you. (bows deeply).

Watch out for the next one - due approximately, as ever, twenty minutes after lager consumption.

Sunnywithshowers Wed 24-Apr-13 18:21:25

grin Some of my best posts are due to / after alcohol consumption.

wine cheers!

EmpressOfThe7OceansLovesMN Wed 24-Apr-13 19:23:44

We luffs you for starting this thread, Dummad. That's why I proposed a vote of thanks.

kneedeepindaisies Wed 24-Apr-13 19:53:01

Dummad can you update this thread. when you start the next one?
