Can I just congratulate you

Maryz Fri 11-Jan-13 22:57:12

on your wonderful thread deletion notices.

I am really enjoying them. They make my TIO so much more interesting grin.

I'm quite sad when they disappear off the bottom of the page.

Kiriwawa Fri 11-Jan-13 23:01:28

They are giving me joy too (although I only have the one - I'm going to start stalking you as you clearly know where the dramarama is happening wink )

Yes, ditto! grin

Love the

"Thread was deleted because it was a bit hmm "

We love congratulations we should link to them when you moan
Peace and love

Maryz Fri 11-Jan-13 23:08:49

I liked the "Thread was deleted because it was a thread about a thread even though you were all pretending it wasn't" grin

OliviaPeacein2013Mumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 11-Jan-13 23:09:34

I wasn't actually here this afternoon but I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE MY JOB. grin

Maryz Fri 11-Jan-13 23:10:46

I'd like your job too Olivia.

I would be stupendously rude to the wankers good at it, I'm sure.

Valpollicella Fri 11-Jan-13 23:14:02

Naaaaice. Well done MNHQ grin

I properly love the descriptive messages. Much [gin] to you

Valpollicella Fri 11-Jan-13 23:14:40

Maryz, bet you'd be strict. Overtly [wunk]

IamtheZombie Fri 11-Jan-13 23:19:50

And she wouldn't have favourites, would she, Val?

Not our Maryz.

wink

Valpollicella Fri 11-Jan-13 23:22:22

Oh no. Not Maryz

<<pays dues to Mz to be in the gang and protected>>

Maryz Fri 11-Jan-13 23:25:48

I'd only make favourites of the right sort of people wink

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Sat 12-Jan-13 00:08:02

Aw Olivia, that's nice.

Pinot Sun 13-Jan-13 20:26:33

I liked it when Rowan called trolls "wankers" the other day grin Soooooo true!

ripsishere Tue 15-Jan-13 06:42:56

I miss everything <must move back to the UK>
MNHQ, I can do night shifts for you if you want.

I haven't seen any thread deletion notices, I feel like I've missed out hmm

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Tue 15-Jan-13 08:30:11

Hels, you need to be on a thread that gets pulled - it only comes in in Threads I'm On.

I've obviously been avoiding contentious threads, I might start one just to see the notice shock

OliviaPeacein2013Mumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 15-Jan-13 09:53:33

shockhmm

BettySuarez Tue 15-Jan-13 09:59:46

mrshelsbells74 we could start a thread about this thread and see what happens grin

I would like to see

'Thread deleted for no reason...we spilt gin on the keyboard pressed the wrong button...sorry'

grin

cumfy Tue 15-Jan-13 14:27:03

I liked:

for hmm reasons

grin

Maryz Tue 15-Jan-13 15:16:15

The last one said "for breaking mumsnet Talk Guidelines" when it should have said (and in fact did say on the thread before it went pooft) that the op was hairy of hand.

[disappointed]

whoever did it: you have let us down, you have let mumsnet down, but most of all you have let yourself and the whole world down

Please keep them interesting. It lessens the frustration of having a dozen deleted threads on TIO if they have interesting, informative and amusing reasons for deletion [childishly pleased emoticon]

BettySuarez Tue 15-Jan-13 15:26:24

Perhaps you could see your way to deleting the last thread that I have just posted on.

With the reasons stating that 'taking pleasure in someone elses misfortune is shock and confused and hmm and well, really very very sad'

angry

Maryz Tue 15-Jan-13 22:43:37

Sorry, accidentally started a separate thread about it when I should have congratulated here. (damn these coy titles)

Helen said "Deleted for being the hoofwork of a revisiting bridge-dweller"

Maryz Tue 15-Jan-13 22:47:41

Keema, it says:

"Deleted for being the hoofwork of a revisiting bridge-dweller"

I only posted on the thread in the hope of getting an interesting one grin

Valpollicella Tue 15-Jan-13 22:48:21

Isn't she just GREAT? I actually only posted on that thread so I could see what the 'poof' message was.

I am not disappointed.

grin

I know, that one made me SNORT aloud

we were v good on that thread I must say

Valpollicella Tue 15-Jan-13 22:49:05

Maryz...ditto ^ grin

Maryz Tue 15-Jan-13 22:49:41

We should collect all these Trills.

Get everyone to post them somewhere, and then hq-ers will be competing to see how amusing they can be.

I miss everything being in a different time space continuum to everyone else.
My offer to do the night shift still stands.

ScrambledSmegs Wed 16-Jan-13 12:16:24

Just saw a brilliant one, re: a thread about meeting the MIL and DP being a total arse in a restaurant. And a random throwaway comment about the MIL laughing so loud that all the guinea pigs went running.

Message from MNHQ: Visit from the hairy of hand. Possibly a guinea pig.

Maryz Wed 16-Jan-13 12:18:33

Excellent Smegs. I missed that thread.

I'm disappointed by the baby-gro one, which has a very simple "breaking talk guidelines" post sad

I'm going to have to start spending a LOT more time on here. Possibly targeting threads that are ripe for deletion based on the thread title? Hmmm, there has to be a way of doing it.

HelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 16-Jan-13 12:27:02

Maryz

"We don't can't do it every time. But that makes it more fun, no?"

'spose so Helen [ingrate emoticon] <sulks>

I don't care about the mobile site wink. I think you are all wonderful

Rip, you could have the job of combing the site for hairy handed bridge dwellers between the hours of midnight and 8 am GMT, and alerting us all to the interesting night time threads so we can all post on them before the are zapped, maybe? You will be quite busy in the holidays, I suspect.

EmpressOfThePuddle Wed 16-Jan-13 17:18:50

They don't show on the mobile site?

Do they show on the apps?

HelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 16-Jan-13 17:32:17

They will show on the mobile site soon. Tech is on the case.

Apps may take a bit longer.

EmpressOfThePuddle Wed 16-Jan-13 17:41:07

Oh ok, that's why I didn't see it. Thaniks Helen.

The apps are great, though.

Either tech is working faster than usual or my version of the mobile site is special coz I just got to enjoy my first work of pure mnhq poetry.

Thanks grin

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Wed 16-Jan-13 18:51:02

They were showIng on the mobile site for me all along.

NewYearNewNagoo Wed 16-Jan-13 19:03:55

It is a much-appreciated improvement.

I have a much better-honed troll-filter than I used to have though, so I'm not clicking on the good ones anymore.

I'm only depriving myself.

Newyear... Same here, I just ignore the trolls now so always miss the fun.

I purposefully posted today just to get the message grin

ripsishere Thu 17-Jan-13 01:49:03

I had a lovely response all typed out and it went POOF.
I have previous for moderating. I used to do it for a Thai forum until the fateful day an individual turned up at my actual front door threatening all manner of violence for deleting him.

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 15:17:09

Was that the bridesmaid one? I saw there was a sockpuppet concerned poster on there with another interesting thread grin

DameFanny Tue 05-Feb-13 22:04:37

Yep, best deletion notice so far [smarmy]

MmeLindor Tue 05-Feb-13 22:04:44

There will be a marked increase of posts on any thread that looks a bit contentious from now on just for these genius messages.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this one <boasts>

Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Thread deleted because it was a thread about a thread about a thread about someone who is long since gone, someone who is NOW no longer here and a few goady stirrers. <thank you, MmeL>

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 22:06:51

I do believe we should keep them all, for posterity.

Some of them are just genius.

And I (sadly), despite spending about 105% of my waking hours on here, miss a few grin

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 22:14:40

And the one I was watching earlier is now sadly gone with a very boring "breaking the Talk Guidelines" explanation sad.

I've also realised that although the threads still appear in TIO, they don't appear in TIW - which is a bit of a downside; instead of watching threads I'm expecting to go pooft, I'm gonna have to post on them to get the messages.

I shall report this post, so that Tech can change that - otherwise all the dodgy ones will have oodles of "marking place" posts grin.

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 05-Feb-13 22:20:46

grin

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 22:32:27

I think they are appreciated more, probably, when they are rare and unique, so you are probably right to intersperse the gems with boring old "talk guidelines" messages grin

IamtheZombie Tue 05-Feb-13 22:37:17

BluelightsAndSirens Tue 05-Feb-13 22:37:52

Maybe we should help by offering extra special deletion lines.

Thread deleted because the grass isn't always greener.

Thread deleted because this bridge is only big enough for one of us.

Thread deleted. Splash.

Thread deleted as OP has be sent to have his toenails clipped

Thread deleted because there isn't enough gin in the world.

Thread deleted because we said so, ok?

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 22:42:59

I like the ones relevant to the topic, like the colour scheme one.

But I don't suppose "Thread deleted because op is a wanker (literally)" would be very nice - thinking of all the dodgy "tell me all your weird sexual experiences" trolly posts.

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 22:44:24

Hi Julie <waves> Welcome to the madhouse Mumsnet smile

I have exchanged emails with Julie and with NewKate today, I think I should just get a wage move in.

IamtheZombie Tue 05-Feb-13 22:45:28

Rebecca, Zombie meant the rather boring Thread deleted for breaking Mumsnet talk guidelines. Nowt more nor less.

Hello Julie! Welcome to the insane asylum nest of vipers Mumsnet!

ScrambledSmegs Tue 05-Feb-13 22:53:34

How about 'Thread deleted because we suspect the OP has sweaty palms', Maryz?

Too much?

Hi Julie! Welcome. We're mostly lovely. Apart from on AIBU. You don't want to go there alone.

barleywood Tue 05-Feb-13 23:12:31

Maryz Tue 05-Feb-13 23:13:15

IamtheZombie Tue 05-Feb-13 23:15:58

IamtheZombie Tue 05-Feb-13 23:50:53

MmeL, do binders = dossiers?

TuftyFinch Tue 05-Feb-13 23:56:35

Anyway, they have those on the spines ofvtbejr dossiers, all lined up neatly.

JulieMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 06-Feb-13 00:02:35

Maryz Wed 06-Feb-13 00:07:01

I'm selling it for a very reasonable price, but will accept vats of wine if necessary.

Don't mind her Julie, you can share my copy wink

madwomanintheattic Wed 06-Feb-13 00:16:16

I was unimpressed with the one that said 'to protect the op's privacy', because frankly, she only asked for it to be deleted when no one offered her (and her violent mate) any sympathy. She had name changed for the thread, so goodness only knows how y'all came up with that one.

But, hey ho.

The colour scheme one was miles better.

IamtheZombie Wed 06-Feb-13 00:18:05

Zombie is off to the land of Nod.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell Wed 06-Feb-13 00:21:33

Maryz Thu 07-Feb-13 00:36:31

I suspect we may have a few more to add in the morning.

I have asked for them to appear on TIW as well, by the way, to save me having to post on all the, erm, interesting threads. I can just watch them from a distance instead.

Ooooooooo does that mean that if i dive into active convo i might find something to occupy me whilst waiting for the pain killers to kick in? Goodo.

SaggyOldClothCatpuss Thu 07-Feb-13 00:52:45

Just wanted to add my congratulations on the messages, they just get funnier! grin

DeepRedBetty Thu 07-Feb-13 08:20:38

Thinking of funny deletion messages is driving me insane.

[arf]

I fear the answer to your question is simply sleep biwi. There is often thread left for a very long time that should have been deleted quickly. I can think of many examples. In one case where posters where having to follow around and reassure people on the original thread that the poster was to be ignored. That particular troll was utterly utterly vile.

*threads which the troll crashed into
Not original threads as that makes no sense

Hello new Julie
I am WankbadgersBreakfast
Fear not! I do not
always type haiku

The messages are inspired. I shall have to pay more attention to TIO.
May I suggest holding a competition for new ones? Prize is to have one published. Obv.
<boils kettle again>

Has anyone else spotted the deliberate mistake in the worra thread deletion msg?

<leaves brew for hq>

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Thu 07-Feb-13 15:42:37

The fact that the thread title is still there which was pretty offensive in itself?!

PickledInAPearTree Thu 07-Feb-13 15:44:27

Hahah thats true. In fact the thread title was the ONLY offensive bit.

So we are left with

Worra is a 24/7 cunt
Terrys cock
The bat

And a typo

Maryz Mon 11-Feb-13 17:26:36

I have to add this one:

"Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: What rhymes with troll? Khol...spag bol...narwhal...

We think this thread was not legit
So basically it's a pile of sh--"

[arf]

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 18:40:48

grin

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 18:45:30

We're sure men can find their way round mumsnet as easily as women - we welcome parents (andnon-parents) Of all ages and genders - so we think giving them a special guide is a wee bit inflammatory patronising.

Damn! Missed it again. Bloody children wanting attention and dinner and stuff. <flounces>

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 18:51:42

It was an absolute corker of an OP as well, SiSS. On Dadsnet.

Maryz Mon 11-Feb-13 20:01:49

I'm just bumping my own thread to keep it up there so it gets more posts than Fentons!

<glares (helpfully) at Olivia>

grin

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 20:10:19

Ouch, your thread bumped me, Maryz.

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 20:13:47

Let me see if I can remember the gist of the OP without getting myself deleted...

The thread was called A Man's Guide to Mumsnet and it highlighted the four most popular areas on MN, mentioning and dismissing AIBU and Chat in a mere paragraph apiece, spending a little more type on Relationships but reserving most attention for...

<can you guess?>

Ooh, me me me!

Would it be Wimmin's ishoos?

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 11-Feb-13 21:26:32

You win SiSS! wine

Maryz Mon 11-Feb-13 21:31:54

What on earth made you think that Scone?

By the way, I love your name, it reminds me that some people at least know the correct pronunciation of scone.

not bumping my thread at all, at all, oh no not me

OliviaMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 11-Feb-13 22:42:22
IamtheZombie Mon 11-Feb-13 22:44:23

Did exploding make your chest feel better, Olivia?

Zombie tried to post that on the other thread but it had exploded.

Maryz Mon 11-Feb-13 23:23:05

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you.

What about a teeny-tiny suggestion - you could change the title of this thread to

Can I just congratulate you - a special place to collect the amusing and sometimes even genius Deletion Messages

<uses up Olivia's entire goodwill for the next year or so>

And MASSIVE apologies to Fenton for completely steam-rolling her thread in an unforgivably selfish way blush.

Maryz Mon 11-Feb-13 23:24:10

And now I've just seen Fenton's completely unnecessary apology on the other thread, and I now feel worse and about 2 inches tall

<retires to bed>

Trills Tue 12-Feb-13 08:12:38

Doctrine do you think those are the 4 most popular areas? What if the most popular area was actually Camping or Crochet - half of us have it hidden but the people who do post there post loads?

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Tue 12-Feb-13 08:32:55

Well MNHQ don't include FWR in their top 8. But I'm not sure that particular OP was bothered about facts could have got quite so outraged about Antenatal Clubs and their place in the Oppression of Men on Mumsnet.

MaryZ, quick come and stop Fenton..she is going to flounce sad not because of you but she is a good egg...

Maryz Tue 12-Feb-13 09:41:46

What, why?

Love the deletion messages, and never get to see them. Playing catch-up here.

nickelbabe Wed 13-Feb-13 15:25:14

I made a thread like this too.

just thought I'd mention it...

nickelbabe Wed 13-Feb-13 15:29:37

see, this was my thread
and i started it earlier than this thread.

Maryz Wed 13-Feb-13 17:06:37

Lovely nickel.

We should lock this one and keep everything together on yours, as you got there first! I never saw yours.

nickelbabe Wed 13-Feb-13 17:26:34

grin

aw, Maryz, you're so kind.

I don't mind if we lock mine though, and keep it all on here.

yours has a nicer, less picky title....

nickelbabe Wed 13-Feb-13 17:28:38

Scone - did she flounce then?

it was a bit weird that - i saw her flouncer's thread yesterday and couldn't understand why confused

I think she is just taking a break nickel but I have no idea why sad

Maryz Sat 16-Feb-13 18:18:03

This one has to be my favourite so far:

Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Deleted for a breathtaking number of rule-breaking reasons, the most notable of which were that it's not on to a) start an inflammatory <understatement> thread b) discuss posters who are no longer able to grace us with their presence c) tease HelenMN about Arsenal d) mention Mitmoo. NOTE: not all of these reasons may strictly be true...

Brilliant. I actually took a screen shot of this one. blush

marzipananimal Sat 16-Feb-13 18:26:39

Very pleasing. I lurched back to the sofa, now stuffed with chinese food, to find out whether MNHQ had deleted the thread yet and I was not disappointed smile

BumpingFuglies Sat 16-Feb-13 18:32:16

Fablious message. However, didn't MNHQ break their own rules by mentioning Mitmoo? Eh? Eh? <limbers up>

Bumbling, I thought that too!

BumpingFuglies Sat 16-Feb-13 18:37:00

bumping if you please Fanny <tosses head>

I conclude that gin is involved. Olivia is poorly sick and her stash has been raided.

BluelightsAndSirens Sat 16-Feb-13 18:40:38

Here you all are. I've just started a new thread in chat now we don't have that thread to discuss general matters on.

Brilliant message and also shock at HQ naming mitmoo!

Maryz Sat 16-Feb-13 18:46:41

For heaven's sake will you stop mentioning Mitmoo shock

Helen will have to delete this thread as well.

LadyBeagleEyes Sat 16-Feb-13 18:51:23

And can I say ta very much for leaving it up so long Helen.wink
I do love a good old gossip about ye olden days.

BumpingFuglies Sat 16-Feb-13 18:52:07

But HQ mentioned it first! Ner ner <pokes out tongue>

Apologies to Bumping. Bumbling is more a description of the way I do it.blush

Off to search for Bluelight's thread now...

nickelbabe Sat 16-Feb-13 18:55:43

they only mentioned it on the delete reason.

they didn't wait till I got home sad

fab delete message

nickelbabe Sat 16-Feb-13 18:56:32

is it a mnhq competition to see which the best one is ever?
grin

Ok Maryz, I'll try not to mention Mitmoo grin

I went to the fucking park, and you have a lovely delete message and I don't know what went on. sad

Right. <nails self to sofa with laptop>

BumpingFuglies Sun 17-Feb-13 08:58:09

Thank yooo Fanny grin

Getting better thanks BIWI

Maryz Sun 17-Feb-13 22:15:33

Nice to have you back Olivia.

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 14:33:45

Here's another:

"Am I being unreasonable? : should i be banned from a trade show for having children with me? 1 message.
Thread deleted
The OP was very very concerned about being identified in real life and asked for the thread to be removed on those grounds. We felt that if we edited the thread further to remove any identifiable info, including repeated previously removed info, it would have been rendered incomprehensible and so we decided to remove the whole thread.

We would like to reiterate that we go to great lengths to keep threads active rather than just removing them. Please do bear this in mind when repeating previously removed information."

I would like to insert a quick translation:

"The thread was deleted because the OP was an entitled fuckwit who spat her dummy out and mumsnet hq were in a particularly nice mood"

Tee2072 Mon 18-Feb-13 14:37:34

grin Maryz on that last one. So.Very.True.

I'm actually getting excited at these deletion messages. hmm

<hangs head in shame at having no life>

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 14:39:37

<joins Schro on the "has no life" bench>

That was a humdinger, wasn't it Tee?

Maryz I was gutted I fell asleep last night after the weird MRA trolly threads.

I wanted to see what the message would be. sad

LadyBeagleEyes Mon 18-Feb-13 14:41:42

Pah.
And I was having such fun on that thread.
I do think the op got some very special treatment there though.
I've never seen anybody edited so quickly and subsequntly deleted.
Does this mean we can all be entitled fuckwits now, and MNHQ will kindly edit our posts when we realise we've made ourselves look like twats identifiable?

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 14:44:21

But you only have to post on them Schro, then the messages appear in your TIO.

Not that I dare to post a "marking place" post on an MRA thread in Feminism [wimp]. I'd be eaten alive.

I agree on the special treatment. I think there is a nice new mn-hq-er on duty.

Tee2072 Mon 18-Feb-13 14:46:02

I ran screaming about half way through the thread, Maryz. There was only one ending in sight, really!

That is exactly why I didn't mark a place on it too. wink

I normally do post on them but wasn't chancing it with that thread!

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Mon 18-Feb-13 14:48:00

No you wouldn't Maryz...

<picks bones out of teeth>

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 14:49:40

grin

We should start a "thread deleted" screen shot photo album, it could be the next MN book...

I would definitely buy that!

grin

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 14:54:08

They should collect our reports too - there's a funny thread about them somewhere. I'd say report messages from some of the funnier posters are hysterical grin.

I didn't know we could make them funny!

I will keep that in mind. grin And yes, that would a brilliant book! They should add some of the funnier troll threads too.

Hedgehog cam, anyone? grin

Narked Mon 18-Feb-13 15:01:34

You'd be safe with a 'Will no-one consider the the poor menz'.

True Narked, I think loads of people know I wouldn't post that though so I would get caught out. sad

MyHeadWasInTheSandNowNot Mon 18-Feb-13 15:08:21

My troll-dar is clearly too good so I've been missing all the deletion notices, I will have to revise my posting habits grin I do like them all being in the one place though smile

nickelbabe Mon 18-Feb-13 15:16:08

MNHQ wouldn't delete GetOrf's thread because "We think this is okay"
what kind of reasoning is that?! shockhmm

<<sulk>>

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 15:22:01

Which one is GetOrf's?

<off to look>

Maryz Mon 18-Feb-13 15:26:14

Oops, found it, posted on it, and then realised it died two days ago blush

nickelbabe Mon 18-Feb-13 15:28:07

grin

that's alright, it'll get people back on it.

they refused to delete it, even though she was being a goady fucker, and I called them Miss! and everything.

although, I think they might have realized I was just after a deletion message hmm

EduCated Mon 18-Feb-13 19:05:01

Message from MNHQ: Oh so many reasons. Half term, perhaps? We at MNHQ love half term so much.

grin

nickelbabe Mon 18-Feb-13 19:43:10

oh I missed that thread!

Oh no, I missed one... What one was that?

EduCated Mon 18-Feb-13 23:59:13

Some penis one in Teenagers, must have clicked as it was deleted as it went straight to the deletion page, so no idea what it was actually about!

nickelbabe Tue 19-Feb-13 10:29:40

"We have deleted this thread as it is was started by a previously banned poster."

this deletion message is booooooooring.

I know. sad

Was it Olivia? She isn't feeling well so can be let off. wink grin

HelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 19-Feb-13 13:20:04

nickelbabe

"We have deleted this thread as it is was started by a previously banned poster."

this deletion message is booooooooring.

Oh, we have our reasons, nickelbabe. Please trust us on this.

And it makes it more interesting when you don't know if the message will be routine or, erm, special, no?

nickelbabe Tue 19-Feb-13 13:24:32

I know, you didn't want to glorify it.

While we're having a group hug with MNHQ I feel I must congratulate Olivia on her absolutely textbook use of the passive aggressive smiley the other day. I stumbled upon the thread in Relationships, I believe and it was top drawer. grin

<random>

Helen I suppose it makes it a bit more exciting but we are going to spend so much time waiting on threads being deleted for an anti-climax. sad

I understand that you have your reasons though in certain circumstances.

<yet again, has no life>

Message from MNHQ: Although we have no suspicions that the OP is up to no good, and no problem with anyone debating the implications of life as a single child, this thread title is a hugely offensive sweeping generalisation.

The only deletion notice I find and it's not funny sad

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 20:32:11

At least it's explanatory, blueberry.

I think they have to ration their funny ones, to keep us interested.

And not because they have a finite amount of funny-ness between them, that has to be rationed before it runs out

HelenMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 19-Feb-13 20:35:07

Yes. And also cos sometimes it's just not right to be funny even if we are a bit tempted

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 20:36:36

I suspect Justin is probably getting a bit cross at you spending most of your day in gin-filled brainstorming sessions to come up with funny deletion messages when you should be deleting people all over the place instead

[sympathetic]

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 20:36:50

Whoops, Justine, sorry.

BIWI Tue 19-Feb-13 21:02:06

Can I come to some of your gin-filled brainstorming sessions? I think I would be quite good at those.

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub Tue 19-Feb-13 21:03:10

I think it is really good that the messages are more explanatory now, funny is good but knowing what went on is really good too (ie not just breaking Talk guidelines but previously banned poster etc)

BIWI Tue 19-Feb-13 21:09:32

Yes, I agree totally.

seeing as that was what I suggested absolutely AGES ago

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 21:13:08

But BIWI, we all know that you are always right.

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 19-Feb-13 21:16:06

BIWI

Can I come to some of your gin-filled brainstorming sessions? I think I would be quite good at those.

Yes you can grin

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 19-Feb-13 21:17:08

Disclaimer Not aksherly my call but i'd like you there, that good enough?

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 21:23:20

Oi shock.

What about me?

[bitter]

BIWI Tue 19-Feb-13 21:26:38

grin

I do good gin, Maryz.

And, they wouldn't have to fly me over from anywhere.

Which means I'm actually a cheap date, whereas you are considerably more expensive

IamtheZombie Tue 19-Feb-13 21:33:14

Zombie has a car and can drive.

She also has several bottles of Bombay Sapphire Export.

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 21:36:00

Yes, but I'm worth it <channels that one from Girls Aloud whose name she can't remember>

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 19-Feb-13 21:37:55

Zombie and Maryz too - obvs.

I have met BIWI <hesitates> will you bring [gin]?

IamtheZombie Tue 19-Feb-13 21:40:49

Zombie's key fob reads "Expensive and worth it", so nyer, Maryz.

Yes, Rebecca, as much [gin] as you would like.

Maryz Tue 19-Feb-13 21:45:23

We will all bring [gin].

And sleeping bags.

We will have a party.

BIWI Tue 19-Feb-13 22:19:00

Woo hoo!

Party time

Bluelightsandsirens Tue 19-Feb-13 23:26:54

Ahem, I may have aided in the last deletion and the hairy deletion post is spot on.

Christ, I missed it actually being deleted. DS woke up. sad

Here's the message though:

Message from MNHQ: We could explain why, but it would just take too long. So, on this occasion, we're just going to say that the hair hand of troll has paid us a visit and leave it at that.

grin

nickelbabe Wed 20-Feb-13 14:01:42

I've met BIWI too - she brings cakes

BIWI Wed 20-Feb-13 14:23:00

nickel - whilst I'd love to bask in praise, sad to say it wasn't me that brought cakes!

You'd only be raising MNHQ's expectations unnecessarily high grin

nickelbabe Wed 20-Feb-13 14:24:48

ooh, I thought it was you. blush
now i feel awful because I can't remember who did.

You bought a pressie for DD smile

BIWI Wed 20-Feb-13 14:26:37

I forget! (I know it wouldn't have been cakes, as I'm too much of a low carber ...)

We don't like to delete any kind of criticism of HQ but we are deleting this thread as the title broke our talk guidelines. Please be assured we are very much on the spam problem. Happy Sunday smile*

The latest. Feeling really bad for MN just now, they're doing their best.

IamtheZombie Sun 03-Mar-13 15:48:37

Eh?

That'll teach Zombie to go wash her hair.

BIWI Sun 03-Mar-13 17:27:36

Was that the horrible one started in baby names, about the recent spambots? Called them 'retards'.

Yeah it was. sad

Zombie You didn't miss much.

garlicbrain Wed 06-Mar-13 23:04:04

I've just seen my first 'made me snort' deletion message.

"Thread about a fecking thread."

Mumsnet, you rock! grin

"OP was here purely to inflame and goad"
