I think Christmas decorations traditionally come down after the Epiphany on Jaunary 6 (ie. today), don't they? I think digital 'decorations' still count!

LadyMaryChristmas Sun 06-Jan-13 12:24:17

Leave them up and stop being scrooge! grin

Slubberdegullion Sun 06-Jan-13 12:27:37

History Today cor, well [the sad decorations face] if that link it to be believed the carrot on the snowman and possibly the biscuit with a jaunty Santa hat have brought tree spirits onto the site and we now all face an agricultural diasster.

Tyvm mn, just what I don't need this year.

Startail Sun 06-Jan-13 12:30:33

It's Epiphany today, our kings finally reach the stable/house (if you want to be totally correct). When they have given their gifts to the baby Christmas ends.

DCs go to school tomorrow so lights going off tonight fits perfectly.

RebeccaTheHallsMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 06-Jan-13 14:51:53

They are going tonight, the snowman was getting a bit too warm, we don't want to see him flood the place now do we. wink

LadyMaryChristmas Sun 06-Jan-13 15:11:06

Poor snowman. Can't you put him in the freezer? smile

mirai Sun 06-Jan-13 15:16:23

Err we are still in the 12 days of Christmas.... YABU! smile

LoopsInHoops Sun 06-Jan-13 15:17:40

Are we having Chinese new year ones?

FruOla Sun 06-Jan-13 15:28:49

Oh crikey ... here we go again! grin

Twelfth Night was last night - the 5th January! So decorations should have been down before nightfall last night.

And you're right, Slubber, the poor old snowman should go too sad <SNORT> wink

FruOla Sun 06-Jan-13 15:32:25

And thanks to Sauvignon Blanche, who linked to this on another thread - Twelfth Night = projectbritain.com/Xmas/twelfthnight/index.html

Slubberdegullion Sun 06-Jan-13 15:54:11

Fru aaaaarhh you just used the be-FC-hatted emoticons, I think that means you might have an agricultural disaster coming your way.

I burnt my once were alive decorations last night to properly sort those spirits, and we threw bread at my tree so I am safe.

FruOla Sun 06-Jan-13 17:06:27

I had to, Slubber. Just to prove a point wink

Tech (MNHQ) Sun 06-Jan-13 18:32:45

Hi Thermal what's still here? They'll still appear on old messages (is that what you mean?) but you shouldn't get them on new ones.

rubyrubyruby Mon 07-Jan-13 08:21:27

I'm on iPad and the emoticons and snowman have gone.

[not using app]

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 08-Jan-13 13:13:08

Maryz Fri 11-Jan-13 18:02:38
