Make it go away back to the home page.

Fuck of P&O and Orlando Fuck off

<<clutches eyes>>

seriously, might as well have tickers and glittery shit

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:33:56

It fucking stalks you as you scroll down. It's following me.

jennycrofter Tue 06-Nov-12 17:34:06

angryangryangry

Totally agree.

StrawberryMojito Tue 06-Nov-12 17:34:44

It's crap and makes the rest of the page far too small for my failing eyesight.

Conflugenglugen Tue 06-Nov-12 17:34:56

Awful. Making me dizzy. Small consolation it's not on the individual post pages. But just a small one.

If you book a cruise it will go away. wink

Chopstheduck Tue 06-Nov-12 17:35:04

I've got ad blocker and thought MN were (unsuccessfully) trying a new colour scheme. I have blue blocks stalking me.

MamaMary Tue 06-Nov-12 17:35:07

Yes it's a bit weird - hate moving things like that on websites.

Fiderer Tue 06-Nov-12 17:35:24

I don't know what it is but it looks like someone's Aunty Marge is trying desperately to show us how lovely blue drapes would look framing the page.

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:35:50

I DON'T LIKE IT

YOU WANT US TO USE ACTIVE, THEN YOU LETS STALKY BASTARDS ON IT IT. YOU CAN'T OUT RUN IT

naturalbaby Tue 06-Nov-12 17:35:50

Take it away MNHQ!!!!

DorsetKnob Tue 06-Nov-12 17:36:16

One way to keep me off MN.

Shaky Tue 06-Nov-12 17:36:17

It's horrible.

It keeps moving and flashing.

It's going to give me a migraine.

Please make it go away

VivaLeBeaver Tue 06-Nov-12 17:36:47

Its horrible, really, really bad. Making me feel dizzy with it moving, etc, the main page is too small squished in the middle.

What ^^ they said!

NormaStanleyFletcher Tue 06-Nov-12 17:37:32

I have upped the zoom on my page - that's seen it off grin

It probably means that everyone else on the whole of the bus can read my posts though

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:37:52

It's on Threads I'm on shock that's like a violation of my OWN personal space sad

SwimmingLikeADuck Tue 06-Nov-12 17:38:24

Agree, horrible, making me go all squinty eyed sad

EauRouge Tue 06-Nov-12 17:38:59

It's just reminded me of that thread that highlighted their breastfeeding policy that was swiftly changed after a couple of hundred emails from mumsnetters.

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:39:03

I can rant about this all night you know, I really can. Make it stop

<<cries>>

nilbyname Tue 06-Nov-12 17:39:12

It is only when I look at my active convo/threads I am on page. But yes it is flipping horrible!!

I don't have it.

Hahahahaha

Use the mobile site!

PigeonPie Tue 06-Nov-12 17:39:40

Agree - sorry MNHQ, but it's awful; very distracting and is not going to make me buy anything - probably the opposite!

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:41:25

Tantrums

I'm on the lap top. I purposefully don't use ad blocker as I appreciate Mumsnet is a free to use site and I'm fucking well nice like that.

But this isn't advertising it is a profanity against my eyeballs

Maryz Tue 06-Nov-12 17:41:38

Oh, Honey, you are very special.

It isn't on this thread [impressed]

It's everyfuckingwhereelse.

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:43:04

Right

We'll just have to stay here.

Every single thread must be started here and we will try and get them all answered.

NormaStanleyFletcher Tue 06-Nov-12 17:43:26

Turn Up Your Zoom

Then it disappears

ctl +

That'll do it (until MNHQ see the error of their ways, or you give in and book a cruise)

VivaLeBeaver Tue 06-Nov-12 17:43:27

Its certainly not going to make me buy anything. Its going to make me leave MN.

MrsSalvoMontalbano Tue 06-Nov-12 17:44:06

Completely agree and relieved to find this thread, as I assumed I had done something stupid in the settings. it was so distracting that I couldn't read teh threads - pleeeeeeeeeease stop it...

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:44:56

I don't do that sort of cruising. I do the other sort.

It's fine when you clicked on a thread but you can't find a thread to click on due to violation of your retinas.

Hassled Tue 06-Nov-12 17:45:25

I hate it too. The thought of being trapped on a big ship makes me want to cry - and now I have to have that thought all the time. And the either side thing reinforces the trapped thing - it's like MN are recreating my worst nightmare through the medium of advertising <sobs>.

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:45:35

Yup. I'll stay on Mnet for any amount of weird shit. But not this.

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 06-Nov-12 17:46:44

Hello

Really sorry about this - tis an error. It will be gone very soon...

<hides under desk>

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:46:49

It's gone off threads I'm on now

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:47:25

Oh Rowan thank god. I thought you all hated us.

thanks

NulliusInBlurba Tue 06-Nov-12 17:47:45

I've reported it to AdBlockerPlus - don't know if they can do anything about it.

This is the kind of advertising that makes me go out of my way NOT to use or recommend the company involved. Feckin P and feckin O cruises - bit of an insult to those who are struggling to pay basic debts and feed their kids right now!

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:47:52

<<slips gin under desk>>

NulliusInBlurba Tue 06-Nov-12 17:49:01

The best way of dealing with it is by narrowing the window down on either side - you can get it so it disappears altogether, and that's just the right width so you can read all the text on threads.

NulliusInBlurba Tue 06-Nov-12 17:49:51

Ah, tis gone already, phew.

SoupDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:50:05

OTT? much?

QueenofNightmares Tue 06-Nov-12 17:50:06

Cunting P&O cruises angry I refuse to blame MN for the patronizing rich bastards.

Your damned right it's an error, but i'll still share my vodka if you GET RID OF IT wink

HoneyDragon Tue 06-Nov-12 17:51:35

Soupy, why whatever makes you say that? grin

<passes vodka round>

ThatVikRinA22 Tue 06-Nov-12 17:53:14

tfft! you can go off a forum you know....especially when it makes your eyes bleed!

RarelyUnreasonable Tue 06-Nov-12 17:59:49

I'll forgive mn if I win the bastard cruise. BUT have you seen? It's to Belgium. Insult to injury or what? I like Belgium, but it's hardly st lucia!

FiercePanda Tue 06-Nov-12 18:14:06

It is HORRIBLE. I know it's only on the homepage but that's bad enough. Please get rid MN, ads are fine, but not ones that are so flipping in-your-face.

OliviaMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 06-Nov-12 19:23:45

ABatInBunkFive

Your damned right it's an error, but i'll still share my vodka if you GET RID OF IT wink

Now, if it were gin you were offering...

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Thu 08-Nov-12 21:29:02

Just to say, i love Orlando, probably more than most people. I have been loads, and i am going back in July.

But for the love of all that is holy can you please, PLEASE get rid of that awful advertising down the side of the home page - no-one's going to see it and think, oh i know after i've finished calling this poster a stupid fecker i'll book a family break.

The MN Homepage is a fair feast for the eyes at the moment. Quite a lot going on and not in a good way. sad

EIizaDay Fri 09-Nov-12 06:12:14

I've still got it. Tis horrible. I use Firefox with ads banned for this very reason so I don't know why this one has managed to slip through. It is making Mumsnet look a bit cheap and tacky isn't it.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 09-Nov-12 11:22:47

It does look cheap and naff doesn't it!

FiercePanda Fri 09-Nov-12 11:54:16

To whomever had the bright idea to sell scrolling advertising curtains on the MN homepage - it looks shite and makes me stubby. Please get rid, it was bad enough the last time.

EIizaDay Tue 13-Nov-12 08:32:29

Hurrah, it's gone.
