How do you use MN?

I usually just have a glance through Active Convos see if anything catches my eye, and look at 'threads i'm on' to see if anything of interest has been added, and that's it.

I've been wondering what others do. Do you look in specific topics to see what discussions have been going on? Do you watch threads bt not post on them? Do you use that hide threads (or is it Topics) thing?

Just thinking maybe I could maximise the efficieny of my MN usage.

it would then be the only efficient aspect of my life mind.

I do the same as you really. Sometimes I glance through the topics that interest me, such as Living Abroad and Bilingualism.

I hide the pre/post-natal chat topics, and the sales one. And a few others that I am unlikely to be interested in.

I pretty much do what you do Smiley, except that I occassionally look under specific topics (such as relationships) that I'm particularly nosey about interested in.

Same here, active, I'm on and sometimes unanswered to see if I can be of any use. If I want to start a thread then I'll go straight to the topic it fits under. If there's nothing of interest to me in active or I'm on then I'll usually go into chat or AIBU to see if anything catches the eye.

I haven't hidden any topics because you never know there might be something interesting going on anywhere!

If I've been especially addicted involved on a few threads, then the first thing I do is read Threads I'm On, then I move on to Active Convos.

When If I have exhausted Active Convos I might go and have a look at a few specific topics to see if I've missed anything.

I have just discovered Unanswered Treads and been through and responded to a few, it made me feel like I was doing my good ded for the day. I can highly recommened it!

I think I should hide some topics.

I like Baby names and Chat , can't be doing with all the realtionship angst though, I occasionally offer some nugget but it's all so tangled and serious it's too much for me on the internet.

I'm unsure whether to hide AIBU though. I really dislike the way every responds so aggressivley calling the OP 'nasty cow' etc just because they had an unpleasnt thought once, but I am horribly drawn to it too. Oh, what to do???

Ok, I have done my first ever topic cull, and I now have only about 10 topics to be displayed!

this should be inetersting.

it was intersting actaully to see what topics reamined when all that hold no interest were discarded, you can tell alot about a persona and thier life this way i reckon!

I pretty much do the same.

I hardly ever start threads. In fact, I think I have only ever started one and that was to ask advice on how to get hair dye off skin
