May I request a BISCUIT emoticon please - for when I have no idea how to answer a post?

No seriously!

MmeGoblindt Sun 25-Oct-09 22:06:15

Slubberdegullion Sun 25-Oct-09 22:07:25

lol it would be easy too - just a yellow circle, maybe with a few random dots to give it a bit of texture.

nevergoogledragonbutter Sun 25-Oct-09 22:07:52

Like custy said, the debate over which biscuit would represent the biscuit emoticon would cause huge divide and fallout amongst mumsnetters.

Saying that, we're about due for one of those.

Surely it would have to have chocolate chips. I'm thinking a cookie shape, yellow with chocolate chips.

MmeGoblindt Sun 25-Oct-09 22:09:28

Custard cream. Rectangle with squiggles.

cheeseandeyeballsarnie Sun 25-Oct-09 22:09:44

nooooo digestive.ahhh but should we be doing sugary snacks?and what about those with allergies?

Am waiting for someone to say it will encourage early weaning to have a biscuit emoticon.

Anyway, I believe the leader (ha!) of our nation has spoken and it's chocolate shortbread? Did he not choose for us by sending them to MNHQ - which incidentally I note I have not been sent any of envy

cheeseandeyeballsarnie Sun 25-Oct-09 22:10:29

or biscuitarians?they might be insulted.

There's a lot of salt in biscuits and what about those poor sods on the big/slim/whatever threads who are trying to lose those last ten pounds. Will they be biscuit bullied - like happy slapping but with a hobnob?

hanaboo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:13:41

i'm here in support of a biscuit emoticon grin
pleeeeeeeeeease mumsnet
i was thinking choco digestive but it might end up looking like a pile of poo hmm
so maybe a cookie is best

southeastastra Sun 25-Oct-09 22:14:53

like this ;P

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:16:15

its must be a staple part of the MN fabric.

i think we need to vote on the type of biscuit represented though.

BelaLugosiNoir Sun 25-Oct-09 22:18:43

How about one of those pink wafery things?
<knows it's not a biscuit really grin>

MmeGoblindt Sun 25-Oct-09 22:19:48

Yes, I think that chocolate covered is best avoided. We don't want new posters wondering why we are all defecating all over the place.

I'm hungry now hmm

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:20:53

we could term it 'giving the Gordon'

AuraofDora Sun 25-Oct-09 22:22:15

lol giving it the gordon

We can't have a chocolate biscuit though - anything Brown would just appear partisan grin

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:22:33

ooh oooh if its 'giving the gordon' ie. indecisive - could we pretty please make the biscuit emoticon a 'pensive' or 'thinking' emoticon. hmm just doesn't cut it - 'cos hmm is a sarky emoticon really.

BelaLugosiNoir Sun 25-Oct-09 22:24:39

A range of icons is demonstrated here not a website for the hungry though

MmeGoblindt Sun 25-Oct-09 22:25:25
hanaboo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:27:13

oooh i like the pink wafer, but yea, not really a biscuit
the biscuit being dunked in tea is good though

OliviaMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 25-Oct-09 22:27:20

ROFL at democratically elected biscuit emoticon.
This is not something that's gonna be decided on a Sunday night but I'll ensure that the powers that be see the question. wink

hanaboo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:28:23

a jammy dodger!

hanaboo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:29:34

thanks OliviaMumsnet

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:29:45

i got this i do't know what emotion it would represent though

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:30:06

oh its called 'psycho cookie'

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:30:43
hanaboo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:30:47

i like that custy, it would probably get abused though

MmeGoblindt Sun 25-Oct-09 22:33:09

lol at Psycho cookie.

Found one for BonsoirAnna

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:36:38

lol @croissant

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 22:39:38

RTAKangas emoticon

Doodleydoo Sun 25-Oct-09 22:43:47

Biscuits yes, but wine better, chocolate good, all of the above Essential!

Please, please, please?

Tortington Sun 25-Oct-09 23:55:22

i think there needs to be a survey to convey the mn biscuit of choice

Geocentric Sun 25-Oct-09 23:56:17

MmeL, that does soooo NOT look like a croissant! grin

I think a wine emoticon might be more in keeping with many threads.

MmeGoblindt Mon 26-Oct-09 06:07:05

It looks like a British croissant. The real French deal would be a bit more uneven and flaky.

There is a shocking dearth of good biscuit emoticons available on the net.

snigger Mon 26-Oct-09 06:29:57

Ian Hislop looks remarkably like a biscuit.

Got to be a chocolate Hob Nob surely?

StewieGriffinsMom Mon 26-Oct-09 07:32:57

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

BEWiTcHEDnod Mon 26-Oct-09 07:35:37

LOL at snigger grin

sockmonkey Mon 26-Oct-09 08:00:46

I vote choc chip cookie. Genius idea WMMC.

whomovedmychocolatecookie Mon 26-Oct-09 08:09:40

<twirls> Think how inclusive Mumsnet would be. I see a future for Mumsnet where ever poster, from every family, rich or poor, receives a reply to every question. Even if it is only a biscuit. grin

GentleOtter Mon 26-Oct-09 08:11:47

Yes, a nice plain oatcake plus a sour grapes emoticon for anyone who 'Hislops'.

ABatDead Mon 26-Oct-09 08:18:18

I want a solid brown circle emoticon because I like "anything with a bit of chocolate."

ShowOfHands Mon 26-Oct-09 08:24:25

MNHQ, for the final time, please can we have a 'Friday Night' topic. I want to hide it so that the bumsex slips into obscurity.

Sorry biscuit lovers, as you were.

Though I vote for a gingerbread man if we're a democracy which I suspect we're not.

MmeGoblindt Mon 26-Oct-09 08:26:05

Gingerbread man would be good. Although, it might have to be a Gingerbread woman otherwise we might get into trouble with Dittany.

IControlSandwichMonkey Mon 26-Oct-09 08:27:35

Gingerbread person of non specific gender so as not to alienate the dads.

Hermaphrodite gingerbread person?

sockmonkey Mon 26-Oct-09 08:32:54

Rofl at Hermaphrodite gingerbread

ABatDead Mon 26-Oct-09 08:36:32

Greggs are doing a really nice Bat Bicuit

Never knew they had a website but its 'terrifyingly tasty'.

Geocentric Mon 26-Oct-09 09:42:30

Gingerbread person sounds good! (although it might puzzle the newbies and meedja visitors - "who's that little guy who keeps popping up??")

Sorry to be rude about your croissant MmeL!!!!

thesockmonsterofdoom Mon 26-Oct-09 09:48:57

got to be a jammy dodger, that's all I will say on the subject.

LeninGhoul Mon 26-Oct-09 13:09:59

Shouldn't one just pop up automatically on all the unanswered threads?

JustineMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 26-Oct-09 20:17:27

Hehe. Very good. Will get BigTech on the case once he's done some new release or other tomorrow (hopefully he won't break anything).

MmeGoblindt Mon 26-Oct-09 22:00:27

Can you make him wait until Wednesday to do his new release? DH is away until then so I can MN all day and night if I want. If Tech breaks it, I will have to do housework or something. <horror>

whomovedmychocolatecookie Mon 26-Oct-09 22:19:58

ROFL at MmeGoblindt. Now your task should Mumsnet break is to head over to Netmums, and tell them all about how fab it is here and that it's only broken because we were so busy with all the popular threads and pictures of naked men and all. So they should all head over for tea and a [biscuit] wink

sockmonkey Tue 27-Oct-09 07:30:43

Oooh, Excited about biscuit emoticon. I may bake some in preparation. grin

MmeGoblindt Tue 27-Oct-09 08:47:58

I just used my first [biscuit] emoticon.

sockmonkey Tue 27-Oct-09 10:46:05

Is it working now?? Where is it?

whomovedmychocolatecookie Tue 27-Oct-09 22:19:22

Where's my sodding biscuit envy??? Oh come on, I came up with the idea, at least tell me how to make a biscuit appear hmm

Otherwise I'll be requesting a [slightly miffed] emoticon next. wink

ByThePowerOfGreyskull Tue 27-Oct-09 22:29:41

I wondered if this may explain some of G's dithering

JustineMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 27-Oct-09 22:55:10

Ok so BigTech's still wrestling with his release... so we've not quite got round to biscuits but, rest assured, Mumsnetters, we will.

whomovedmychocolatecookie Tue 27-Oct-09 22:58:37

But I'm hunnnnngrrrrry <whines>

snigger Wed 28-Oct-09 06:16:58

'Wrestling with his release' - sounds like a term from a dodgy Mills & Boon. Are MN Towers in the midst of writing tawdry fiction? Are there throbbing manhoods? <hard stare>

sockmonkey Wed 28-Oct-09 07:36:24

Will this really really happen??
biscuits were mentioned on bbc news last night. Oh happy days.

nevergoogledragonbutter Thu 29-Oct-09 19:20:17

Is BigTech still wrestling with his release????

This can't be healthy?

JustineMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 02-Nov-09 21:15:30

No, you're right, it's pretty ugly but he's nearly done. Have high hopes for tomorrow smile (manana manana)

JustineMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 04-Nov-09 17:40:25

just to try it out ...

bonfirewithaheartofgold Wed 04-Nov-09 18:14:20

please lose the eyes.

BitOfFun Wed 04-Nov-09 18:17:55

Oh no, I like the eyes- it looks like Gordon.

princessmel Wed 04-Nov-09 18:19:27

The eyes make it look like a chick imo

should be a bourbon

BertieBotts Wed 04-Nov-09 18:21:57

I don't like the eyes either. It seems mumsnet is divided on this issue.

(Also surely it should be an I have nothing... not a I have nothing...)

MmeGuisingt Wed 04-Nov-09 18:23:41

I love it

Can we have a [Swiss Chocolate] one next so I can throw some at BigTech?

Bleatblurt Wed 04-Nov-09 18:39:00

It definitely looks like a chick. Perfect for Easter but not very biscuit-y.

mollyroger Wed 04-Nov-09 18:44:12

god i love jammy rings.
And no, I ain't talking about MN's other great obsession.

QueenOfFlamingEverything Wed 04-Nov-09 18:48:39

Oh I thought it was an early Christmas smiley - you know, red nose and all that blush

ellipsis Wed 04-Nov-09 19:19:48

biscuit grin

whomovedmychocolatecookie Wed 04-Nov-09 19:27:47

biscuit Thank you! Can now change my name back! grin

GrimmaTheNome Wed 04-Nov-09 19:33:22

very good - eyes, nose but no mouth cos its got nothing to say.

Hunting Wed 04-Nov-09 22:29:12

yep i'm seeing a kissing ducky.

snigger Thu 05-Nov-09 20:05:38

biscuit I adore that we have an official smiley to denote lack of an opinion. As if that was ever a problem here grin

I'm going to use this all the time, just to be inflammatory. Especially on Style & Beauty. In fact, I'm going to go right now and hunt down someone looking for an opinion on some heels and biscuit them.

that is great - I love it!
