It doesn't work for me if I am in classic so I have to log out, search and then log in again....

I assumed that it was a hang over from the change and would be fixed soon but it does seem to be dragging on!

Broken for me too.

Hello.

Search is not broken; it's just a little, er, challenged at the moment.

In other words, it searches for key words and nicknames as normal but you can't pre-select Topics to search under.

Sorry. We're yelling at BigTech about it working on fixing that as soon as we can.

it is not you, I have been huffing and puffing at MNHQ about this for what seems like months but is actually a few weeks. 'Tis extremely annoying!

Yes - I cannot use the advanced search either

HelenMumsnet · 10/03/2009 22:38

Oh dear. Didn't realise some people couldn't get Search to work at all - sorry.

Promise to alert the Techs tomorrow.

Are you all on Internet Explorer, by any chance?

Report
KingCanuteIAm · 10/03/2009 23:13

I am on IE, but I am on IE because, when you first changed nothing worked on Firefox (for me) but I had no trouble at all with IE - which was the exact opposite of everyone elses experience!

I kept quiet of course - I couldn't risk anyone asking me detailed or techy type questions

It was fine yesterday but doesn't work at all for me now. I'm on IE also.

As mentioned before, it doesn't work for me on IE or Safari. I can do a basic search but can't select topics.

I am actually on IE.

would love to change to firefox, and did for a short time. but that crashes my laptop so I uninstalled it.

Its working for me once I log in, but not if I'm not logged in - if that helps anyone...

OK, it would be really helpful if you could all give us a bit more info about this.

Are you having problems with Search or Advanced Search?

Is it completely bust for you - or just part of it (such as selecting Topics, like flowerybeanbag has noticed)?

And is this only happening in Internet Explorer? Or are you using another browser?

PuzzleRocks · 11/03/2009 11:38

Hi Helen. Advanced search does not work. I can go to the page and enter search criteria but nothing happens when I click the search button. I am using IE.

Report
PuzzleRocks · 11/03/2009 11:39

Just checked and the regular search button does not work for me either.

Thanks PuzzleRocks. Would you just mind giving that Search button a whirl from the Home page too, please (it's right at the top on the right)?

Anyone else?

Report
PuzzleRocks · 11/03/2009 13:16

That one seems to work.

Ooh, well that's good

We're on the case with the other stuff - but it may take us a while...
