if you used somebody's quotes (and therefore their username) did you ask or just publish? and if you did just publish, did you tell them afterwards?

Nope, not by the various threads asking if people are in it and some people being told they are

MP says she didn't keep a list, and a lot of the advice was just incorporated into the narrative

Why does it matter?

there are a couple of threads where people talk about the use of mumsnetters posts and copyright and stuff.

Can't remember all the ins and outs, but we signed up for this (apparently)

anyway, personally I don't mind, if I can contribute to someone else's book, cool! I'm never going to get round to writing my own. If I did want to write my own I wouldn't post on here, I'd write it all in a diary and publish it at a later date

mumsnetters' (forgot the apostrophe, the pedants will be revolting)

i havent seen the book yet but out of interest does it say eg. flamesparrow says blah blah or does it just say a mumsnetter said blah blab iyswim?

i am not sure exactly why it matters but it does. i don't want someone to read a quote i may have made (not that i am saying anything i said should have been put in the book) but then bringing up old threads and in essense "stalking" my username.

I already changed for a number of reasons and if i have unknowingly agreed for my inane nonesense to be used willy nilly then i will either to start swearing in every post or change my name every week.

i don't like it

and i know MN is not a private place and anyone can read it blah blah

ok i have succumbed and ordered it - i noticed it on ebay for 11.99 plus p and p taking it to about £14!!! mucho cheaper on amazon with free delivery...

Yes, cheaper on Amazon than on EBay. Though I'm wondering why the Order Your Copy link goes to Amazon now, rather than Waterstones. Mind you, my copy ordered from Waterstones has yet to turn up... plus Amazon are a little cheaper than Waterstones... so maybe there are reasons why Amazon is now the linked provider.
