Site stuff

I completely and totally understand that you're all dead busy and that, but...

I still can't see the little yellowy clipboards, the envelopes and the red exclamation marks at the side of poster's names.

I also appreciate that you may have answered this on one of the thousands of other threads going at the moment.

But I am waaaaaay too lazy to trawl through every one.

tia

btw... still think bloody good job. On the whole I like it now I've got used to it a bit.

good-oh

You click on the posters name now instead of the clipboard. And to report you clck on report post rather than the exclamation mark.

I know that I can do that, PR, but apparently others can see the clipboard and the exclamation mark.

I can't.

Tis a pita (not a big one, admittedly, but still a teensy weensy pita)

I can't see who has got a profile and who hasn't, you see, and nowadays if you want to look at someone's profile, it opens the link in the same tab as the actual mumsnet site, so it's a pita when I lose the page I'm on and they haven't even got a profile (grr!)

If we're not having them any more that's fine, but I don't like the thought of other folk having exclamation marks and clipboards and me not (I feel all left out and excluded )

You can see them if you have it set to classic, not if you have it set to new.

hth!

Squonk: I've just posted about the (dearly departed) profile folders on this thread.

You've got a good point about the profiles not appearing in a new window, though. That is annoying.

We'll add that to our glitch list, too

thank you o wise one

you lot worn your keyboards out yet replying to everyone's whinges?

(btw... now I'm really used to it, I really like the new site. Am not just sucking up, I really do like it. Tech did a good job [well, except for the opening in new window thingy] )

Squonk, you're right (are you liking my cross-thread cross-refs?)

Worn out is definitely the Shed mood du jour. Your sucking up nice comments will definitely help, though

I could get quite used to being right

(am loving the cross thread references )

Squonk: not only are you right, I am wrong

I am testily told by Tech reliably informed that Profiles should open in the same window as the Talk thread you're on. (You just hit your browser's 'back' button to return to the thread.)

well they used to open in a different window and I liked it that way

and you were deffo right - it's annoying

If you right click on the profile link you can choose to open it in a new window - or tab if you use tabbed browsing.

Report
fryalot · 03/02/2009 15:34

so you can, rusty, so you can

That's all right then.
