Site stuff

my dd has just cried at one of the adverts on here. Are adverts stuck on one thread or are they random?

This ad has already been complained about a lot. I think its horrible, and it most certainly does not make me want to rush out and donate to them

Sorry you've been upset by an ad - we'll certainly pass on the feedback. It's an ad that could appear anywhere on rotation we're afraid, but hopefully shouldn't appear too often.

We have exactly this toy monkey at home. Thanks to the ad, we are all taking it in turns to beat the stuffing out of it.

ooh nice!
I loathe the nspcc's shock tactics. makes me really, really, really never want to give them any money ever.

thanks carrie. not liking that it could appear anywhere though really!

agree with you thisisyesterday, I don't like their shock tactics. After a traumatic childhood myself I am all too aware of the bad things that happen without having adverts from them shoved in my face every 2 minutes. I had a letter from them this morning in the post. I didn't even open it to be honest. I know it would just be another begging later with a horror story attached to make you feel sorry.

I agree and am very disappointed to see that Barnado's have now decided to join them with this kind of extremely unpleasant advertising. I loathe their current TV ads. I would give to Action for Children (formerly NCH) instead who have consciously never used this kind of victim-based sensationalism.
