Well, I missed Lapin's bounce (haha) but it would appear that what it's doing is showing the number of recent posts rather than the total number of posts. You could call it a feature in fact, though it wasn't intentional as far as I am aware. As such, we'll fix it, but as a lower priority than a few of the other things that aren't working quite right yet.

Ooh I spotted that too. There was one about AQ on special needs, and the thrusting young mum thing

Could you give us an example of it happening at the moment? The one in the OP on this thread looked correct when I looked at it this afternoon.

Thanks.

Anything older is doing it. I keep thinking people have started threads with identical titles to old ones hmm

Randomly enough this thread is doing it too. Is a recent one.

I guess it once indexes posts after a certain time?

exDH is obviously a stalker, have reported him to MNHQ

The only threads I've seen that exDH person on, he appears to be stalking a poster on. I don't think it is anything wrong with the site, just a poster who can't get on with his life, apparently.

I often find that things just show what's been added recently (just that day?), so I click on what looks like a small thread, and it turns out to be quite large.

There's been other strange happenings similar to this <don't want to say too much>
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By DeJaVous on Thu 02-Oct-08 15:14:33
This one, it's from 2006 and someone has just resurrected it.

'tis strange, don't you think?

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
