Its what Private Eye calls the guardian due to its typos.
I always assumed it was pronounced 'Grown i ad' (Grown rhyming with brown)

and this may be a really silly question...if your job is for a website, why do you need to based somewhere specific?

(good job i am not applying isn't it?!)

So you can meet with the clients. It's good to have a face-to-face relationship, though most of the technical work could be done remotely.

so in theory, you could be based in the outer hebrides as long as you were prepared to travel lots??

its one of those things i have always wondered!

The Grauniad is called this because years ago (I worked in Fleet Street newspaper land) they actually printed their banner 'The Guardian as this'. Obviously, it had been overlooked when proof-read!! Copies of this first edition print run are worth a mint. Can I have the job as the Editor please?
